1442  Economy / Economics / Re: Finally they understand the value of Decentralization ! on: March 24, 2023, 08:51:51 PM
Decentralization and Blockchain is a new advance in our technological progress and as history teaches us, we take new technology in very slowly because it takes time not only to spread, but to be understood completely. Half of all people on earth are not very intelligent. And humanity can only go as fast as its slowest member.

So this whole time-lag in people adopting its quite understandable from an empathic point of perspective.

If anything I see this slow movement as a good thing (for us smarty pants) because it gives us an advantage of early adoption/investment.
1443  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many BTC needed for retirement in 10 years? on: March 24, 2023, 08:31:34 PM
I would guess that around 1 BTC will be needed in the future (probably in the somewhat distant future of around 20-30 years from now) when the price of Bitcoin is over 1 million USD each. In fact, if you are happy with a 401k retirement, then half a Bitcoin would do just as nicely around that kind of price level.

However we do not know what tomorrow will bring. With the advancement of technology, especially AI, we might not need money in the future.

I am hoping for a Star-Trek kind of future. No more material needs, no more money, no more greed.

But perhaps I am being a bit too gullible about human nature... Roll Eyes Grin
1444  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The future of CBDC in gambling. on: March 24, 2023, 07:36:35 PM
I think that gambling with CBDCs will not be possible in countries that are against gambling. And even the countries that currently are ok with gambling, they will eventually exercise their power with the technology behind CBDCs to determine what you can buy, cannot buy and what you can and cannot spend your CBDC tokens/coins on. The governments would already enforce this kind of control if they could. But they currently cannot.

I think we should keep pushing against CBDCs. Unless we all want to live in China and be under total dictatorial financial control.
1445  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the biggest problem you think AI can fix in gambling on: March 24, 2023, 11:14:45 AM
I believe that fraud is the biggest issue that online casinos are facing after settling with the LAW to keep running their businesses, and I believe that the combination of Artificial Intelligence with human assessment will help prevent frauds.

With AI it will be more easier to eliminate frauds and set a stronger level of protection because AI is far more capable of doing the intense cross checking and and more complex security checks, it is a load of work for human to do cross checking themselves as the chance of missing a spot is possible due to tiredness or laziness. All these work load can be shifted to AI and leave the investigation cases to humans to fix.

What else do you think a gambling casino can benefit from using AI technology?

I think AI will be used for targeted advertising for the online gambling casinos. Really seems to be the area with the highest potential of psychological abuse as the main goal of any business is to find more clients/customers.

But perhaps they will also use Artificial Intelligence for weeding out bad actors like the underaged, money launderers, cheaters, bug exploiters and so on.

On the client side of things I do not see much improvements except maybe a more comfortable and/or convenient gambling environment.

But there's no stopping the AI transformation so lets wait and see how all of this turns out, whether for better or for worse.... Undecided

1447  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Mining on clouds waves on: March 23, 2023, 06:09:42 PM
Cloud mining is an obvious scam and I hate to see people falling for it. If you want to mine, then I suggest you do real mining. Sure, you might need to buy (invest into) some expensive equipment and you might not see a return profit for a while but you will pay off your expenses in time and then you will be making profits. No middle man, no third parties and no shady deals. All it takes from you is some time, some self-research, dedication and some patience.

Anything that seems to be too easy/cheap/good to be true, probably is. This goes especially when your wallet does not belong to you but rather to some third party. Not your keys, not your coins.
1448  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are Casino Sites Cheating Us? on: March 23, 2023, 03:54:41 PM
Most of the time I play Blackjack & Dice.  I have always noticed that when I bet a large amount I am a loser when it comes to Dice.  Also in case of Blackjack when I bet big amount I get wrong card due to which I lose the bet. On the other hand when I bet small amount I win in case of Dice and if I bet small amount multiple times I win multiple times.  In Blackjack, when I bet small amounts, I am always get good cards and win the bets. Thus the cycle continues.  I have noticed that it is not an easy thing to withdraw from having achieved something great. I always gamble for fun with small amounts and lose them but I don't care. But I started playing blackjack yesterday with $1k and noticed that the casino sites are somehow cheating us. I lost my $1k yesterday. through Blackjack. What do you think about casino site algorithms?  Are they cheating with us?

Which online gambling casino exactly are you talking about? Because if its some small, unknown, shady casino with a questionable reputation, then perhaps yes. But if its a legitimate casino with a good reputation then I doubt they would cheat you like that. Its too obvious a cheat for such a big, established business to do. It would be financial suicide for them.

I think what happened is you got really unlucky and started connecting coincidences with things that are not necessarily true. Otherwise there would be more people noticing such things and more people would be complaining.
1449  Economy / Gambling / Re: No bet is a waste on: March 23, 2023, 11:10:22 AM

I meant if you just make single bets on each individual match and yes, you lost in the first one, but if you continued to bet the same fixed amount, then as a result you would simply win, in this case, multibets are not considered.
Exactly the point mate, we are on the same page this prediction is not for players that want to bet on multiple options, those are the ones that want to stake a small amount to win big since their accumulated odds.

-I have been following an odds prediction by one casino telegram group and to a large extent I have not won any bet from their predictions because I always bet in all the bets without changing or removing any selection.

-This have not really worked well for me, and as it is I still prefer to bet on my own predictions.

I do not understand how people can still trust random casino telegram prediction groups. They never have any real predictions worth betting on, and if you were to ask them how and where they did their research and what their predictions are based off of, you just get ignored or kicked out of the telegram group.

That makes sense though, no charlatans want logical thinkers in their community of sheep. Grin

Doing your own research and predicting your own bet outcomes is really the best way to bet. There is absolutely never a good reason for blindly trusting the predictions of other, especially if they somehow profit from gathering huge communities (which they obviously do).
1450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which cryptocurrency will lead the currency market in near 5 years? on: March 23, 2023, 10:50:07 AM
Obviously Bitcoin.

Not sure if this was supposed to be a trick question, OP. Roll Eyes

Bitcoin is, was and will continue to be the backbone and the foundation of cryptocurrency. In fact, if all crypto were to somehow simply disappear tomorrow, it would not have a long term effect on the price of Bitcoin. However if Bitcoin were to disappear, all those cryptocurrencies which have Bitcoin as their asset layer would not even exist anymore. And the rest would be seen as too risky to buy because if the ultimate coin, BTC dies, all crypto would be considered dead.
1451  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How my lack of knowledge has blinded me so far on: March 22, 2023, 02:45:43 PM
There are people like me who dislike KYC verification requirements from online casinos, and I always have two complaints about it.

1. Why the need for KYC.

2. Why pretend they won't ask for KYC, but ask for verification after a big win.

While my lack of knowledge has kept me away from several big online casinos in this forum, I decided to do some additional research in my spare time.

Some Facts Why KYC Verification is a Necessity For Online Casinos.

~Online gambling businesses have become more attractive since the Covid19 days, more money entered the gambling business, making the attention very noticeable, also a good opportunity for the law to go after them.

~There are penalties on online gambling necks too, they have to implement anti-money laundering procedures just to survive, many online gambling platforms faced the panel in the past and ceased to exist.

~You have no idea how much these companies spend per year just to be friendly to the law and pass criterion regulations and business procedures, it is called intense regulation, to avoid fines.

~The only way these people can avoid the mistake of allowing fraudsters into their system ( gambling platform ) is by having KYC and AML (anti-money laundering ) in place.

~If you see another way that I don't, do drop your comment, because people can't be trusted, they will pretend to be a random online gambler but they have other bad intentions in mind.

From now henceforth, my assumptions about KYC verification from reputable online gambling platforms have changed, I seek for answers and I find them, drop your opinions if you think I am wrong or you think this is not accurate enough.

That is basically my own way of thinking, OP.

While I am not a fan of KYC or anything which endangers you to identity theft, I would say that KYC implementation is not something that casinos can decide for themselves. They are basically forced to implement it, by the government.

Furthermore, I think the main reason why they demand KYC on large withdrawals is because its easier and more time-saving than demanding it from every single new user. They have to manually check the KYC documents and they have so many users, it would be very hard for them to check everyone.

We need to invent an alternative to KYC which does not endanger our government-issued documents from being stolen. Identity thieves can do enormous damage to your finances and your reputation.
1452  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 22, 2023, 02:20:56 PM
OP your calculation is wrong. If you calculate from your salary you will get into trouble once you need to start paying your monthly/yearly bills. The best way to calculate "money that you can afford to lose" is to take your salary, subtract your bills, subtract your living costs, subtract your savings/emergency funds and only then with what you have left you decide how much of that you wish to invest.

I would say no more than 50%. If you want to be extra careful, 10% will do nicely.
1453  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could there be any importance and need for some kind of mild regulations? on: March 22, 2023, 11:30:12 AM

The problem here is human nature. Yes, left on our own doing, there is that tendency for us to do things that can be hurting everyone. On my on personal view, we need regulations on many aspects in the business of cryptocurrency and this so glaring with centralized platforms as they are more prone to be corrupted by people behind them and suffer collapse...which is of course magnified with what happened with FTX. However, regulations should not be done to kill what is supposedly to be regulated but to make things fairer and more transparent, otherwise regulations can just be a tool for control and nothing more. So the next question is: Can we trust the people who are in charge with regulations?

Try as you might, I very much doubt that one can regulate human nature. Not even the worst punishments (in some countries this also includes the death punishment) can persuade people not to do something. Regulations can be used as a tool for control, as you say, but usually they are a tool of  making sure that lawbreakers can be held responsible. Whether or not you see this as a good thing is really only up to you.

Some regulations make sense while others do not...
1454  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Top 3 Reasons Why Cytpocurrency Gambling is more Addictive than Fiat Gambling! on: March 22, 2023, 10:38:43 AM

I would think one of the biggest, if not the biggest reason for cryptocurrency gambling being much more addictive than fiat gambling is the community aspect. The crypto community is quite a comfy place to be and when others in the community gravitate towards gambling, they kind of pull in the others with them as well.

Its hard to find a fiat community for gambling because you would have to actively search for it and join it yourself. And even then its not really as exciting as the crypto community.

So group pressure is definitely a big reason, I would think.
Hmm, this is true, I have never thought of it from angle. Societal pressure. In fact, we have crypto community for everything now. A simple google search will provide one with a lot of result. And once a person gets hooked on any of these crypto gambling platform, it will take a lot of effort and discipline for the person to not get addicted. Just like other platforms, crypto gambling offers, tips, trips, links to new online casinos with bonuses and promotions before you know it, you are deep in the abyss of gambling addiction.

I am not 100% sure if societal pressure would be the correct term though, I used that term in a descriptive fashion but perhaps I should have said something like "Bitcoin/Crypto fan community is following the latest trends" or "following the community out of a sense of loyalty and wanting to belong". Its really hard to think of a term which defines it. Nobody is actually forcing or pressuring the crypto community into gambling but rather people just do not want to be left out, it would seem.

But yeah, it can be seen as somewhat of a problem, especially for those who are predisposed to gambling addictions. Following the community in such cases can turn out to be financially disastrous for that person.

My tip for cannabis vapers: Pax with a bubbler attached. You vape herb, not some chemical cocktail. Furthermore the bubbler filters out any tiny plant particulates as well as cools down the vapor. No combustion, no lung irritation. And the full flavour of the herb is yours to enjoy.

Really seems to me as the healthiest option, next to breathing (clean) air. (Although our air is far from clean. You might get clean air on a mountain top but at sea level we're all breathing exhaust fumes and beer farts Kiss Tongue)

As to nicotine vaping... I would stay away from that mess. Who knows what they put in that chinese e-juice.

setup in question:
1457  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Share me your AI watchlist on: March 21, 2023, 07:29:05 PM
I have currently got my eye on Crypto GPT but I must admit that the only reason for that is because it is one of the few promising crypto+AI projects. If you were to look at non-crypto AI then you would find way more exciting and high-potential projects. Honestly, I think the crypto aspect is the deciding factor for many investors of Cryptogpt rather than its somewhat slightly innovative nature. The popularity, it seems to me from my own subjective point of view is crypto fan boying, in other words, it seems to be mostly popular because the crypto community can relate to it.
1458  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too good to be true? on: March 21, 2023, 06:46:11 PM
Is it possible to invest 100$ in altcoin and turn to 7,000$? Have this ever happened to anyone on here? Is this even possible?.

Its more possible to win that much by gambling $100 in Blackjack. But yes, theoretically it is possible to invest in an early unicorn and have that unicorn project go 70x. But is it probable? No. Really, you would be much better off investing in anything else.

But if you absolutely must invest in new crypto projects /established altcoins (I say new crypto projects because those are the ones most likely to go up that high in pnl. Older altcoins which are already established do not have that kind of volatility), then at least don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Invest 10 bucks in 10 different projects or something like that.
1459  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much these features weigh most when you choose your favorite casino? on: March 21, 2023, 05:37:52 PM
I would make the argument that age of the casino takes priority over the first spot rather than reputation, which is in the number two spot. The reason being that a new, 1 month old casino has absolutely no reputation worth trusting, unless its a bad reputation and they have scam accusations, in which case that would definitely be a red flag. A strong community is more important than age of the casino website but again, that only goes for older casinos. For new casinos the priorities change.

For older casinos, with 10 being highest priority and lower numbers being lower priority, my list would be like this:

Features:Importance:
Huge variety of games and different sections (sports, live tables, etc
Good bonus/reward program
Good looking, intuitive and fast user interface
Good help desk
Strong community/ Reputation
The age of the site
Casino's own token that pays dividends / ability to mine it by gambling
Instant deposits & payments
No Kyc
