1221  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Should we have a two, or even three, tier fee structure? on: May 24, 2023, 03:02:09 PM
Should people who effectively clog the blockchain pay a financial penalty. If smaller transactions ( smaller in size, and not in value), were charged a low efficiency fee, and larger ones had to pay quadruple ( say ) fees, then there would be a disincentive to submit so much rubbish on the blockchain. How could this be implemented? Would it require two mempools, or just approval by the miners?

Sounds a bit unnecessary. Just cut out the middleman and block off the spam transactions in the first place. Problem solved. I think otherwise it would just make people weigh their return profit over their transaction cost loss and spam the blockchain anyway. NFTers are going to scam people for thousands if not hundreds of thousands per NFT. Would a higher transaction fee make them think twice? I don't think it would. Worst case scenario it would only give miners the impression that spam transactions are more rewarding than regular ones. Then those spam transactions turn into priority transactions.
1222  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help us to choose a bonus for a review campaign! on: May 24, 2023, 02:21:32 PM

HI ALL!

WE ARE THINKING TO START A REVIEW CAMPAIGN WITH JUICY REWARDS.
COMMENT ON THIS THREAD WITH A DESIRED BONUS YOU WOULD LIKE TO GET FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION.
WE WILL NEED 15 PARTICIPANTS. SPORTS AND CASINO BONUSES APPLY.
BE THE ONE WHO DETERMINE THE REWARD!

[img]https://i.postimg.cc/90MpjJX6/freebet-eur.jpg[/ig]

The reward should be bitcoins. I have recently joined a similar review campaign and they are paying bitcoins. You should do something similar. I mean you can give people some deposit bonus and similar crap but then you would force people to deposit money and nobody will do that probably. You are not going to attract any decent members that way. If you want to get quality reviews, you need to pay.

I would have to say that ratings and reviews should not be incentivized in the first place.

That seems incredibly intransparent and the review will not really be worth much. If anything this is just Megapari asking for a manufactured, inauthentic review from their own gambling community.  Of course they will only give a positive review, not only because those people want a bonus for their account but also because they are already biased in favor of the casino.

That's really a bit disappointing. I am not sure if I would want to trust such a casino after this.
1223  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Whirlpool surge cycles (Samourai/Sparrow) on: May 23, 2023, 10:11:35 PM
Essentially, if the total fee is more than is needed after selecting the two fee paying pre-mix inputs in order to perform a coinjoin, instead of enrolling three post-mix inputs as usual the coordinator will now enroll additional post-mix inputs. This makes the coinjoin transactions larger and therefore even harder to break, as well as increasing the throughput of remixes meaning everyone gets more free remixes faster, all for no additional cost to the users.
Wouldn't this in theory also increase fees a lot for coinjoins?
If we have another ''ordinals tsunami'' like we did recently I doubt this will be usable for most people, except maybe for big whales, but they would also experience big delays.
I am more interested in mixing and privacy in second-layer and I heard about one interesting project is coming out soon, or even better to introduce privacy on protocol level for bitcoin (but that probably won't happen any time soon).

If we had another "ordinals tsunami", might it not have happened already? The transaction fee is not quite where we want it but the mempool congestions have stabilized. I have no idea what the developers have been planning in the last few days since I am not up to speed but what is the possibility that the Bitcoin NFT hype has cooled down for good?

Last I read, the devs were planning on introducing a runtime option to delete or invalidate all non-standard taproot transactions? Sounded like a plan to me. If I were to guess I would say thats exactly the reason why the hype has been dying out in the last few days. Now nobody wants to board the near-future trainwreck which are ordinals and BRC-20 tokens, now that they are on the cancel list... Grin

Thanks all & keep stacking!

Great job contributing to the worldwide adoption of Bitcoin as the one and true currency. And thanks for the free pages. I have skimmed through them and I think that even people who are not dedicated readers will have no problem perusing your book, thanks to the wonderful illustrations.

Even though you have not been a part of the Bitcointalk community, you need not prove your enthusiasm or dedication to Bitcoin. You can ignore anyone who says otherwise. Seniority is nothing but a ego thing.

Good luck with marketing to new readers! I am sure this forum is a good place to look for them! Perhaps you might find more fans if you reach out and become more active in the community. Especially in the newbie section.
1225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The last side of Bitcoin I've failed to look into on: May 23, 2023, 02:45:37 PM
As a fan of Ethereum, I've been able to make some ETH through putting my coins to work, but I've not come across putting your Bitcoin to work before.

Is all we can do as a Bitcoin investor is to HODL?

Is there any way to HODL and make more BTC?

I know that Bitcoin is a proof of work coin, but I am only curious if there is something you can do, while planning to hold your Bitcoin for 2 years or more, is there any benefit of holding and making more Bitcoin?

Also, What are those RSK Bitcoin for? Any benefit at all?

You could lend your Bitcoin in return for a certain percentage on return. But then again you would have to trust the person you are lending your Bitcoin to to actually pay you back and on time as well.

So for example say you lend someone 1 BTC for a return of 5% profit after 3 months. So after 3 months you get 1.05 BTC. And the effect of "hodling" will still not have been disturbed. You still hodl, you just actively do something in the meantime.

Lending can go wrong so make sure you have a legally binding document signed by the other party. But, I am not giving you law or financial advice, you can consult a professional for that.
1226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just.bet | The Web3 Casino You Deserve - Bet directly through your web3 wallet on: May 23, 2023, 01:54:07 PM
Bet directly through your wallet, settled instantly into your address. No middleman, no KYC, no tampering, no bullsh*t.

So let me get this right, by no tampering do you also mean there is no third party that can decide whether or not to withhold my winnings? That seems a bit strange and unheard of, to be honest. What happens if someone finds a fatal flaw in your systems that lets them cheat the casino out of money? Also, what kind of permissions am I giving if I were to connect my wallet to your casino? There are many casinos claiming to be web3 but in my own personal experience there is always a centralized party with all the control.

Furthermore I cannot find any terms and conditions on your website. Just what am I agreeing to by using your services? I am not sure I would want to connect my wallet without knowing if I can trust this "web3 casino".
1227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wife discovers husband's hidden Bitcoin during divorce proceeding on: May 22, 2023, 11:14:06 PM
Hi guys!
I have come across a topic here that emphasized on the need to disclose one's Bitcoin dealings and seed phrase to his/her spouse incase something bad and unexpected like death comes knocking on the door, the husband or wife can have access to the funds and claim it.

Well... This story is quite different. A husband hid his crypto assets from his wife amid divorce saga, the wife had her suspicion, then hired a forensic expert who found out that during the splitting of the property, the husband failed to declared his 12 BTC stashed somewhere in an undisclosed wallet. She's now asking that the Bitcoin be splitted into two.

https://www.cnbc.com/amp/2023/05/20/bitcoin-in-divorce-how-spouses-hide-assets-crypto-hunters-find-them.html

Looks like some of the married folks are getting smarter... They don't want to be left in the dark, but are going out to get it themselves through crypto hunters. What's your thoughts on this?

OOF! He should be careful of boating accidents in his near future. Roll Eyes

Although to be fair, if he did not get a prenup then thats his own fault. Marriage is not worth it in countries like the United State of America because of the silly and confusing laws which accompany it. Especially the ending part Wink

But here is the question, how can she prove it is his address or that he even has access to those funds? If anything, Bitcoin asset holdings, especially those that were previously undeclared or kept secret, are legally hard to obtain. I would think...

But I am not a lawyer nor a forensics specialist and  I have no idea on what the forensic expert that his wife hired found that can serve as evidence in court... Shocked

Welcome to the famous Bitcointalk forum! We hope you will prove to be a valuable member and casino! Please keep in mind that on this forum, reputation means everything. We even have "merits" and "red and green trust" which can be either a heaven send for your marketing team or a community-driven witchhunt with an angry mob. Although if you are fair and transparent, the latter will not happen. That is just me talking from my experience on this forum. I do not mean to scare anyone off.  Tongue Grin

I like your website's design and I will definitely sooner or later check our your online gambling casino! Until then, have a great time with us on Bitcointalk and reach out if you have any questions! Wink

1229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers understood the game on: May 22, 2023, 02:38:55 PM
How many times have you successfully invited some gamblers to online casino? What is your experience doing so? I know many will find this hard to believe but I kinda prefer bringing in gamblers than investors into crypto, why? They understood the risk already, there is no talk and talk over again, there is no dealing with someone fear and confidence..

I have successfully brought in four people into crypto gambling, and it was the easiest thing ever, they came asking if it's possible to use crypto for gambling and I said yes, but I told them that I am not ready to introduce any platform for anyone, but these guys then showed me there past gambles on a local website that only accept Fiat, that's when I got soft with them and I showed them the websites I use for gambling.

The thing is, they are small time winners and big time losers, I mean they lose more than winning, it's been two weeks and two of them tell me about their loss and gains, but they make it feel normal, to them it really is, not like the crypto investors today, always in hurry to double their money, some are even scared of investing in Bitcoin, which is the safest of them all.

I have invited a few gamblers. Most of them have already had experience with crypto and gambling in their past.

Obviously when it comes to comparing gamblers with non-gamblers my experience has been that almost 100% of the time, unless they trust you, non-gamblers will not take up any offers to try out an online crypto gambling casino. They always seem to think that its some sort of trick or scam. And even more so if they have no experience with cryptocurrency in the first place.

Gamblers without crypto experience are surprisingly cautious of cryptocurrency, as well. But they do tend to be more persuasive than non-gamblers (with no crypto experience).
1230  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is money ruling the world? on: May 22, 2023, 02:35:00 AM
At first I thought is power than anything, later on I said it's should be economic resources, then I realizes is money. I will give a brief poem here! The breeze blew and stake moistures and when it blew hales, it was just the breeze moving while the moistures is running away with fears.

The mist of human fears is control by what is next to their breath. Money has power than anything, money makes one feels secure, alive and superior. When money leaves we felt life is gone, we feel dead, we feel empty, we feel hopeless.

Currently my country government has turn humans to museum, moving without no direction, helpless and monuments because for over 3 months now the government has seized to release money in circulation, banks refused to fix money in ATM's, no canter payment.
Everyone is helpless, no money no good food, no transportation, no job, no love, no smiles, no good health.

Money drives away every feelings that makes life better. Money is truly powerful

Money is just currency. Thats all it is. Currency used to be pigs and cows and chicken, basically anything of value. And what is value? Something that someone needs or wants. At some point people realized that trading in a chicken for something else can be quite difficult, as you would have to physically carry a chicken around with you.

So they invented something that can be carried around traded for anything. Coins, paper, cards, doesn't matter... All we have been doing is refining the concept of trading something for something else. Thats all it is. Money is the flexible medium with which we trade those goods and services.

Over time, both things and services have become easier to obtain, so their value has fallen. Staying alive and fed has become affordable for almost everyone now and at some point in the future luxury will also become affordable for all. And maybe, someday, we will no longer have a need for money.

1231  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When Bitcoin will become stable currency? on: May 22, 2023, 01:49:00 AM
Why would Bitcoin become a stable currency? It will always go up or down in price, depending on how many people want it and how much they want it. In fact, Bitcoin, unlike fiat, is capped at a certain limited amount while being very divisible. This alone will push the price up higher and higher. And even if every person on the planet wanted Bitcoin, they would still not make it a stable currency due to these two facts.

The only thing I think will become more stable are the dumps and pumps. Bitcoin might go up and down in price in the future but this price movement will not be as unpredictable as in the past.
1232  Economy / Gambling / Re: Roobet.com | Crypto’s Fastest Growing Casino 🦘 on: May 22, 2023, 01:23:42 AM
You are exaggerating here. Roobet is a popular and reliable crypto gambling site for sure, but that doesn't automatically imply that they will sweep all the awards since they aren't perfect or anything and have their fair share of issues.

There is no perfect casino because every casino has its own plus and minus points depending on player's preferences so all the other nominees are also not perfect because of some reasons.

I would agree and say that its all a subjective perspective of relativity. In other words, it means to each his own. And with all the different casinos, different games, different rules and so on, people can pick and choose their version of a perfect casino, or at least the closest thing to perfect. I also do not expect Roobet to sweep ALL the awards but I am sure that they will be somewhere on the top. A lot of people seem to really like Roobet because they listen to their community and implements changes based on the flow of all those various desires that the community wants to see in a casino.
1233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: May 21, 2023, 02:41:41 AM
In light of two cases about casinos being charged for not stopping one player from playing past his betting threshold and from one demanding one casino to return his losses because of VPN issues.

Do you think casinos should implement a survey assessment from time to time to assess gamblers if they are comfortable spending more and if they are using VPN all the time even if they allow the use of VPN.

This is for the casinos to avoid issues in the future when players look for loopholes to regain their losses by charging them in court.

A Gambling Operator Court Case

Hmm... Well it is a bit hard to say. On one side there can be many advantages of survey assessments from time to time in order to protect themselves from bad actors and also protect the players from themselves. On the other hand however, such surveys could become more and more intrusive over time and at some point, before we even know what has happened, the surveys become privacy issues.

Although perhaps I am being a bit paranoid about such things... But players will also find loopholes to charge casinos in court with nonsense or try to cheat them out of money in other ways. That might not be a good argument. I doubt such surveys will have much weight in court.
1234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Getting around KYC on: May 19, 2023, 03:46:22 PM
but I'm also a big fan of cash trades since they leave no paper trail for the government/banks/exchanges to use to spy on you

Me too. But I think one of the upsides is also the fact you can charge 3-5% higher than the market price, just due to the fact that F2F is the preferred fashion of most anonymous method to buy Bitcoin/other cryptocurrency with cold hard cash. Its also a bit cumbersome, scary and awkward. But the extra money you can demand is more than enough of a fee for your troubles.

I think if you live in a first world country then you do not have to worry about being robbed for a small/moderate amount of coin. But one should never let down their guard. Constant vigilance and preparedness is always smart.

One should never be naive when it comes to money/valuables.
1235  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: How much do I need to start mining? on: May 19, 2023, 09:56:04 AM
I know huge capital is required to meet up huge financial expectations, what's the minimum volume of income one can use to start mining? In a situations where you trade with different strategies and still hits wrong targets, if you apply or use same trading knowledge for mining won't one still loss in mining too? Because I don't have enough money with me, so am trying to cut losses if mining too will not favor me I will decided to venture into mining too again.

Can I start mining with $300 and grow from there?

You can literally start mining with the computer that you are using to post this topic on the forum. You just would not earn a lot since the computing power is considered nothing special (unless you have a really awesome and expensive hardware setup).

I think the question you want to ask is how much money do I need to invest into mining Bitcoin for it to become profitable by an x amount of percent, in regards to the money that I put in? That might be a bit more difficult to solve since you have to consider the costs of miners, electricity, internet, space and so on...

So the most necessary question to figure out your costs is: how much money, at minimum, do you want to make?
1236  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you spend more-do you get more? on: May 19, 2023, 09:45:39 AM
There is an opinion that the more money you spend, the more you get in return, it is interesting to find out who really works in this direction. I spend enough money, but I have a fixed income, therefore I will not be able to get more. I don't have rich relatives, and I don't expect an inheritance either. I want to get rich, not to deny myself, but I have to save on everything. Who really faced big expenses and received even more? How does it work, maybe I don't understand the essence of it correctly?

That depends on what you spend your money on as well as what you consider "spending" to be defined as in the first place. Huh

Spending money on something that does not stay with you for a long time (Food, clothes, other perishables etc.) is just throwing money away. Especially if the perishables are unnecessarily expensive (luxury items). However spending money on an investment that grows and becomes more valuable over time is a good way to spend your money, I would think.

But even then you need to be smart about your investments and do a lot of research. You cannot just blindly throw money around and expect it to boomerang itself back  into your life. Roll Eyes
1237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Know your time to HOLD on: May 19, 2023, 09:27:12 AM
Bitcoin is not a get rich quick investment, you must be patient and strong to hold for long. Long term investment is the best for bitcoin. If it goes down or rise up, you still hodle and hodle till the next bull market.

Yeah I would completely agree with that. Anyone who thinks of Bitcoin as a get-rich-quick scheme is setting himself/herself up for failure by giving in to this delusion, which only serves to fuel an emotional mindset and that eventually and certainly leads to emotional trading on a loss. It is best to be smarter than that. If one cannot afford to invest money long term then they should not invest at all. Bills and life come first.

OP might be sorely disappointed but we have already passed 25k. So if he really needs to pay bills or something he can buy and still have a slight profit, seeing as Bitcoin is now heading towards 30k...

Although I think he will be even more disappointed in the future, should he decide to sell. But that is his decision. Roll Eyes
1238  Economy / Gambling / Re: What all are your considerations before picking your go to sportsbook? on: May 19, 2023, 03:52:06 AM
What I look for specifically is a list of restricted countries, and whether my country is on it, also I read the Terms and Conditions and make sure there is nothing weird or shady in it, I inquire about KYC requirements, I make sure of whether or not they have an excellent reputation (old, known and trusted), find out if they have decent odds, what the minimum bets are, as well as the minimum withdrawals, bonuses/VIP/Loyalty incentives, customer support history and licensing details (where they got their license and how).

But that is pretty much it.

I like to be thorough if I plan on putting ANY amount of my money on ANY platform which has the power of freezing my funds or taking my money hostage. Even with low amounts of funds, I believe one should treat their money with discipline and respect. Otherwise one may fall into bad habits and lose everything all together.
1239  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: What platforms are the best to get actual user feedback? on: May 19, 2023, 02:45:18 AM
What platforms do you use to get feedback on a website/ lander and so on? Avoiding typical answers like Slack, discord and facebook which it's full of fake profiles.

The platform does not matter. All you are doing is naming different social media platforms, as if though they are the ones who provide you with your audience. Thats not true at all. If you want honest feedback from people who are interested in visiting your website then you must first procure an audience of such people. And it does not matter if its on Twitter, Facebook, Slack, Discord etc...

Do some marketing research, come up with a decent marketing strategy and gather an audience. The rest will come on its own.

The quick and easy way to get feedback is to pay/reward people for it. You can do that anywhere. Even on this forum. Just offer a few dollars in Bitcoin to users on Bitcointalk and they will give you an analysis. Although I am pretty sure that many of us are willing to do so for free. Just create a topic asking for feedback.

Breaking! Bad news from the King of Clay: Rafa pulls out of Roland Garros:

Quote
Rafael Nadal held a press conference at his Academy on Thursday where the 22-time Grand Slam champion announced he will be unable to defend his French Open title at Roland Garros due to ongoing hip injury; the Spaniard also announced 2024 is likely to be his last year before retiring

So no RG this year for Rafa unfortunately and 15th RG title will have to wait until 2024!   Sad

Well he is injured for a long time already and is better to wait until he is at least 95% recovered. This injury is hurting him for years already but now i hope that he can play at least one year. He should get ready for that 2024 and go strong at it one final time

I am quite astounded that injuries are not all that regulated in the sporting world as I previously imagined...

What I mean is that obviously the serious players will want to do anything to keep playing, even if it kills them or permanently damages their bodies. But I think 100% recovery is the minimum which should demanded of an previously injured player. That way they would have to focus on healing instead of playing through the pain.

Honestly I would not be to keen on betting on someone who's body could break down at any moment because they are playing by the edge of the teeth, all the while trying to ignore the pain...
