521  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Bitcoin Wallet by Freewallet on: December 04, 2017, 07:27:18 AM
Good afternoon!
I have problems with the transaction, I sent 95,000 tether to my Freewallet on November 21, 2017, 1596 confirmations have already been made on the transaction, but my wallet is still empty. Help to solve this problem, the support answers once a day, only with the promise to carry out the transaction, essentially does not write anything!

Our Tether wallet is currently under maintenance, please see the notification in the app. As soon as the maintenance is over, your transaction will be posted to your wallet or returned to you: either way, your funds aren't lost. Thank you for your understanding, we'll keep our users updated!

How long will you spend on maintenance of your wallet? I've been waiting for more than 10 days!

As soon as the security issues with the Tether network are resolved, incoming USDT transactions will be resumed for Freewallet addresses. We'll make sure to keep our users posted, please keep an eye out for the notifications in the app.

523  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEWallet.org SCAM ( Don't use any of their iOS or Android APP) on: November 27, 2017, 08:39:04 AM
Hi, I dont know what happends with my eth freewallet app, support don't answer for 3 weeks. Im affraid that I loose my eth and the freewallet.org is a scam.

I lost my app on my mobile. I install the app again but forgot the password. I used "forgot password" option. I got an email with security code to change the password and I changed it.
When I logged in with a new password i saw "0" eth balance on my account and different user id. It is not my account!
Support team dont answer for 3 weeks. They didn't do anything to help.

Please don't use freewallet.org. Is A scam!

Chrissluczak, apologies for the inconvenience! It looks like you haven't received the request for additional information our support reps sent you. It looks like you created a new profile instead of logging into your previous one: new profiles have 0 balance. Please get back to our support reps and provide the following details:

- Your user id from the Settings;
- The way you used to log in (via email, phone number, Facebook or Google+ account);
- Whether you're logging in online or in your mobile app;
- Your email address you received the password at.

Don't worry, if you created a new profile, it doesn't mean that your previous balance disappeared: all we need to do is to make sure you log in properly. Looking forward to your reply!

It took some time but thanks for finding the cause! Looks like they are not scamming after all!

Your transaction was refunded. Apologies for the inconvenience!

Exactly and if its marked in red one is not even able to continue the transfer. Clearly at that point of time it was not marked in red. Transfer amount was 0.03128653 BCC and it obviously allowed me to do the exchange.

Were you making your exchange on the weekend before the Bitcoin Cash fork when the market rates for the coin were oscillating? Sticking to a minimum amount during the boosting coin growth is risky since the rates are changing rapidly as well as the exchange minimums. Unfortunately, that's most likely what happened with your transaction.

I did the transfer at the 16th on 16:04. Funny thing I was hoping to transfer my leftover BCC to another wallet but that then is also not possible? Another 30$ down the drain/in your pockets

That's quite unusual. Please message us your user id from the Settings screen, we'd like to research your exchange case. Looking forward to your reply!
Done! See PM! Thanks

Any news on this? Had no response yet. Thanks

We've forwarded all information to our exchange partner, awaiting an update from them now. We'll keep you posted!

Hi! I have problem with convertation from Bitcoin Cash to Bitcoin gold. I do it from the iOS app.
It says that I will receive 3,3 btg, and i klick okey. From that time 15 hours was left. And I still not receive my btg. I think that is too long time, and something goes wrong.
Support in app does not working. It’s writing “loading channels”... and nothing happens.
I have wrote to the support from the website. They answer: “Apologies! Your transfer will be settled.”
But I think they do nothing.... 4 hours waiting, still no btg in wallet.
My id is “fadf178c”
P.s.  I really like your app,  and I would like to use it... if it will work correctly.

Babayshik, apologies for the inconvenience! Please take a look at the notification in the app: BTG smart transactions are currently suspended due to network issues. As soon as the exchanges are resumed, your transaction will be pushed or refunded. Our support reps will keep you posted.

Damn just when the price of the token specified have skyrocketed drastically and this would be happening to steal other people's hard-earned bitcoin is not a joke especially when we are talking about 8,000,000 million dollars heck you can buy a luxurious car with it and even buy a mansion on Los Angeles California. We should tread carefully when we are doing any transactions in any of our bitcoin wallet.

cipher-x_09, did you read the original thread on Reddit? The topic starters deleted their messages and called off their accusations because there were no facts to prove them. No funds were ever stolen from Freewallet users.

530  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: BITCOIN GOLD SCAM SITE mybtgwallet.com on: November 20, 2017, 10:40:31 PM
There is a new clone of Mybtgwallet.com online. It is https://mybitgoldwallet.com/...BEWARE: it is a scam too, has transmit script inside, do not use!

Also there is another fishy wallet on the official Bitcoin gold website : Freewallet and as according to this topic is fraud too :

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1964190.0

Holders, BEWARE

Freewallet has never stole from their users. We were the first to release a dedicated Bitcoin Cash wallet during the first Bitcoin chain split we supported. The idea was the same behind our most recent Bitcoin Gold wallet: when there's a chain split, it's a chance to benefit, and we won't miss an opportunity to present it to our users.
531  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEWallet.org SCAM ( Don't use any of their iOS or Android APP) on: November 20, 2017, 10:31:10 PM
Don’t buy their answers guys! I just got scammed by them as well. Was exchanging  some bcc to btc via their app and it magically disappeared. According to Freewallet because the transfer was below the minimum. Besides the fact that their app does not even allow a transfer below the minimum their response shocked me the most.

“Your next question might be, “What happened with my funds?” Sorry to tell you this, however, the amount of your transaction was too low, it didn't go through and was spent on exchange fees. Your funds are now part of the cryptocurrency network, they belong to no one now.”

They don’t even seem to care and are spending my $35 on exchange fees. Could be that I was close to the minimum and the minimum increased while my transfer was pending but it seems rather odd right?

All exchange operations in Freewallet are powered by our partner, Changelly.com. They have a minimum transfer amount requirement that applies to smart exchanges in our app, too: before you confirm a transaction, there's a minimum amount clearly stated in red. The current minimum transfer amount for the exchange of Bitcoin Cash for Bitcoin is 0.03556243 BCC (this amount is updated with time depending on the rates available), which is approximately 42.28 USD.

Moreover, this requirement is specifically mentioned in our Terms of Use:

> There is a minimum exchangeable transaction for each cryptocurrency pair. The minimum amount is provided by the exchange service. IF YOUR TRANSACTION IS LESS THAN A REQUIRED MINIMUM, YOUR WALLET WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.

Is the BTC Freewallet compatible with BTG ?

Our Multi Wallet is. Plus there's a dedicated BTG wallet for Android as well; waiting to get the green light from Apple on the iOS version this week.
533  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FREEWallet.org SCAM ( Don't use any of their iOS or Android APP) on: November 20, 2017, 03:45:18 PM
The's rather obscure then since I've received an email today informing me that I should reset my wallet on your site. Catch is, I don't use online wallets, never have and I am confident that I also never signed up with your site. It also wasn't a phishing email since I looked at the full email header and double checked the link to your site.

http://prntscr.com/hb7gh6

So tell me, where the heck did you get my email address and why did I receive said email?

Can you message us your email address you received this notification to? Looking forward to your reply!

Hi, I did a transaction 3 hours ago from blockchain to freewallet and it's not confirmed yet. after the delay searched about freewallet and boom I saw the news about the scam shit. is it real or it's all about the network? by the way, my freewallet address in android app differs from the one on browser. Is it normal? Could anyone help?

Athena_1992, it can take a while for transactions to get confirmed and finally posted in the network; the transaction speed depends on the current network conditions. If you'd like to verify the status of your transaction, please feel free to contact our support team in the in-app chat, we'd be glad to help. Thanks!

PS: Please make sure you're logged in with the same credentials both in your app, and online.
535  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold, a scam or what? on: November 10, 2017, 04:12:38 PM
1) I see zero complaint retractions.  Everyone who has reported STOLEN funds is maintaining a public complaint against you.
The FACT that you have 30+ people complaining about your wallet stealing funds shows that you are an incompetent programmer, or more likely that you are STEALING funds from people.

That's understandable as you're not tasked with analyzing the user feedback and outlining the statistics of it. We, on the other side, keep track of all reviews and requests made and follow up on each.

2) Additionally, by claiming that 100% of all reports of stolen funds have been "located" but not "returned" is evidence of a scammer.

If the funds were sent to an incorrect address (because of a typo, for example), to a wrong network (BTC instead of BCC, which used to be a frequent case) or they have been received by the other party (for example, to an exchange account without a payment id), it's possible for us to locate them, but not retrieve, if the destination is unrelated to Freewallet. As you know, transactions that are completed in the blockchain cannot be reversed or altered. However, if the receiving party is known, the sender can contact them and request assistance.

3) Furthermore, the claim that most cases are tracked down to an invalid address is an indication of incompetent programming or a lame excuse from a scammer stealing.

Actually, it's a mere fact showing that the human factor is still an issue.

4) Apple has NOT expressed skepticism, how dare you blame Apple.  The Apple App Store has very many BTC wallet apps.  Apple is not doing anything to stop iOS apps from being created, so THAT IS A LIE, and a weak excuse.   Apple does not personally review and approve or deny every app with a human being.  To suggest that Apple has not approve you, is bullshit.  Perhaps you have been busted for malware and banned however.

Not blaming, just stating a fact. There's still a number of coins we're awaiting Apple's approval on; when Bitcoin Cash was introduced, it took some time by Apple to make a decision about this coin, too.

Freewallet is guilty of lies, and misinformation.
So much so that I now see that Freewallet is indeed malware NOT to be trusted and is stealing coins.

Sad to hear you've got such an impression! However, as Voltaire once said, "I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it."

Hi anthrax66, we speak English, but understand many languages, thanks to Google Translate Grin Are the tokens you're referring to currently supported in our app? If yes, we'll be able to retrieve them for you promptly. If not, we can still offer you a solution. Your tokens aren't lost either way.

Please contact our in-app support (Settings -> Support -> Message us) and provide the transaction hash: we'll be able to give you more details on your case.
537  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: FreeWallet.org Scam - Millions stolen on: November 08, 2017, 12:25:13 PM
Your stealing the coins i have in my wallet now...

Its a wallet with bo custom add coins... So if you use this wallet they just steal your custom tokens

You sent tokens that aren't currently supported in the app to your Freewallet address. Your tokens aren't stolen, you can see them sitting right where you had them sent in the blockchain explorer. As soon as there's a technical possibility and the support of your tokens is added, you will be able to access them in our Token Wallet app.

We strongly recommend contacting our in-app support to make sure the tokens you're planning to send are supported in the app before making a transaction to avoid such situations in the future.
538  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gold, a scam or what? on: November 07, 2017, 03:03:10 PM
We had Bitcoin Cash, now we have Bitcoin Gold.
The problem is BTG wallets are ONLY for android.

https://bitcoingold.org 's website lists ONLY THREE wallets.
Freewallet looks like a scam, lots of people reporting STOLEN coins with them on reviews for iOS.

The other 2 are Android only.
So BTG has no ability for Apple users, and obviously no infrastructure, so how do I collect my BTG so I can sell this trash alt coin?

We always get back to people who claimed their funds were lost because of Freewallet: we were able to locate 100% the funds that were "stolen." We research all complaints about lost funds, and in most cases it's possible to track them down to an invalid address or a different wallet unrelated to Freewallet. The word "most" is used here because there always are cases when people consider their funds "stolen", while in fact a network fee was applied or an exchange rate wasn't as good as expected, etc.

Regarding the Bitcoin Gold wallet for iOS: Apple is known for their skepticism about cryptocurrencies. For example, not all coins & tokens that are available on Android apps are present in AppStore because they weren't approved by Apple. We're planning to add BTG to the list of coins available in our Multi Wallet first; however, it's up to Apple to give the green light on it for the iOS version.

Today I try to send out some dogecoin from freewallet (android app), but I can't recognise my destination address.
Keep watching and wait for the confirmation.

Have you tried contacting the in-app support? Please do, we'll be able to advise you on the situation once you provide us with more details.
540  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Freewallet.org SCAMSTER or THEIF or ??... PLEASE HELP on: November 07, 2017, 12:49:34 PM
General comment, for holding funds never use an online wallet.

This reddit thread has the maker of the free wallet product.

https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4jmk1g/warning_to_1000_users_of_ethereum_wallet_by/

The topic starter on Reddit provides no actual information on any scam activities related to Freewallet because there are none. We're one of several custodial wallets on the market, the service model we use doesn't make us or Coinbase, for example, a scam. This is an open & decentralized market, people are free to evaluate the risks and make their choice of this or that service by themselves.

The reason we believe it's not feasible to provide private keys to individual wallet addresses is because it would prevent our users from taking advantage of our secure cold storage technology to safely store their funds. We're currently working on a way to enable exporting/importing private keys without losing the benefits of the cold storage technology we offer; this feature should be available soon.
