541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Some gambling questions. on: October 17, 2023, 02:43:50 PM
Some gambling questions I want to ask please answer.

How many percent of signature earnings you gamble away?
My salaries 5%.

Do you prefer Fiat or crypto at a display currency?
I use fiat.

Mostly I use my altcoin to bet but if I find the day like it's my lucky day, I bet my BTC. I have no access to fiat casinos so most are altcoins and BTC to bet online and often times its just sports.  Stake.com definitely.

What is your favorite game you play all the time?
Mine Mines.

Are you a responsible gambler?
yes.
I do play blackjack on random days but mostly it's Sportsbetting. Can't say about being responsible, but I'm definitely not spending huge amounts and when I lose my funds for the week I stop. Noting is there to chase too.
542  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sad to see such manipulations in this market. on: October 17, 2023, 02:16:22 PM
Bears were liquidated in the leverage market. At some point, I think the fake news did something good so that these bears will learn lessons. If there is anything like this happening and it's still fake news, everyone in the leverage market should really wait for confirmation before taking action.

Cointelegraph was already sorry for the post about it without verifying the source. https://cointelegraph.com/news/clarification-sharing-false-spot-bitcoin-etf-news
It was well timed though that people were expecting something like the approval of it while the SEC didn't appeal.
A bit fun to watch and the price is actually staying at $28k so it actually did a good pump.
543  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or keep playing? on: October 17, 2023, 01:47:15 PM

Withdraw your capital and play. But if you have plans for the money you have, it's just logical to simply withdraw them and then do what you like.

I might be playing once again just to see if my luck continues to give me profit. Sometimes this doesn't really end well just as it did when I kept rolling after a successive win. What follows is also a consecutive loss. Fortune doesn't always favor the bold.  Grin
544  Economy / Economics / Re: Global markets brace for fallout as Middle East tensions rise on: October 16, 2023, 09:51:05 PM
Oil is one commodity that affects price of many other items positively/negatively as transport is always factored into cost , and now having Oil prices going up again because of current tensions as if the Russia - Ukraine war wasn't enough... we in for a rude shock, brace yourselves.

I know these tensions in Gaza have been happening for a very longtime, but is it possible that there could be an invisible hand arm twisting one or two people just so prices could go up as they are financial beneficiaries from Oil sales Huh
Otherwise with most countries already experiencing high inflation rates and now Oil going up, most economies will shake that's for sure.

Oil prices going up is what is expected to happen if the war continues. Since the occupation of Gaza is supported by the US, the Oil countries in the Middle East will also support Palestine.

Israel blocks water and electricity to Gaza, the Oil countries might also stop sending oil to Israel as tension arises. So definitely they are going to be spill over of the war there as we have heard already on the news about Syria and Lebanon.
545  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 16, 2023, 09:09:20 PM
I have never been a person who has won big sums of money and I have never taken such a risk in my life. Because I saw it as unnecessary and frankly I did not see it as a risk that could be taken. I once made a coupon with the highest odds I have ever hit with a coupon and I will never forget the odds of that coupon. It was for about 3 dollars and I honestly didn't have much hope. I gave it a shot and I got 2300 dollars and that was the pinnacle of my gambling career. After that, even though I took a break, I still play for pleasure from time to time.

You get 2300 for betting $3 is a super lucky bet. You get lucky even if you don't often bet so you can really expect it won't happen in every 10 years. If you win again like going to a nearby shop and finding scratch tickets beside the cashier, you try for once and you still win big. There really is a big chance you have a fairy godmother following you all the time.

My experience could be called luck but not a huge win. I think I got $130 for betting $10. This is the biggest by far, it did happen again but smaller win and this is in sports betting. I think maybe 2 or 3 times a year.
Really, this was my top bet on this subject and I honestly never expected the coupon to come. Sometimes you can get a strangely high odds, not because you're playing for fun and you're going with your gut, but because you're going with the odds and you're taking a sensible approach. I was buying bets a little more often at the time and frankly I didn't want to analyze much that day and I played on probability rather than what I felt. My luck was on my side and I made a nice profit. I don't remember hitting such a high rate after that day, it must have been close to this, but I think it was the highest. I like to play a little bit risky coupons in this regard, but I don't place a high bet on it. I'd make a coupon with 200-300 odds and bet between 3 and 10 dollars. If it comes in or not, it was not very important for me.

You don't need to bet huge. But in sports, though you can analyze or at least follow what others are tipping. Multibet on sports makes you win huge with just $10. I just don't play it often for I know I haven't been lucky on it.

The government-sponsored lottery is the hardest to win but this is the common gama available for everyone in the country that is why even the elderly who had not given up hoping to be a millionaire are up to buy several tickets a day. Who knows, their luck could be due.
546  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 16, 2023, 07:24:25 PM

Just because we've won, we should not try to be away from the friends who had done good for us. Similar incidents can be seen all around, however it is the people's mind. If we see the winning of the person next to us to be our winning then there is no problem. Here most of us don't have such a mentality, when one had won our minds will start thinking, how can he/she can win. This mentality is really bad and serve to be the reason to make the friends break the relation.

The gambler after the win should not stay away from the friends who did the good things for them.Because not all the friends are same, some of the friends are good. Some of them are bad by their character. So the gambler can stay away from the person who try to cheat their money after the win.But he can help the friends who stay with him during the hard times of their life. The good people won’t stay away from their good friends, because the money doesn’t affect their feelings. The gambler should not change his mentality after the big win from the gambling. He should keep their good heart after the big win and try to help the poor any needy from the winnning from the gambling.

Whatever his reason for staying away from his friends is his reason. I'm not sure how common this is but all the time, a Sudden Wealth Syndrome (SWS) always affects the being of a person. I think the money he won is not enough to share with his friends so he just avoids instead. Or maybe he just learned these 2 friends talked behind him.

I would probably offer beer to this friend if I were one of the two. Just so they can chat again. If they were friends surely they could laugh again at whatever they always talk about.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: To protect consumers, Australia has introduced new regulations for cryptocurrenc on: October 16, 2023, 06:54:10 PM
The regulation so far is still based on the current financial services regulation but they are open to suggestions. But whatever rules are introduced in Europe are still going to be easy implementation in Australia. They don't even need to vote for it.

If ETF is already approved just as what is in the news today, I guess they are also up to approved spot ETF in Australian exchanges.  All countries should be doing the same by now.
548  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 16, 2023, 06:12:47 PM
Its said that Usman who will fight against Chimaev. And whoever wins will hve a title shot against Leon.

Leon is fighting Colby next and I don't think he'll keep that belt. So we're very likely to see Colby Vs. Chimaev for the next title bout, which would be perfect if you ask me.

This is a head shaking decision from uncle Dana after he promised that the winner of Belal vs. Burns would challenge Leon Edward. However, I speculate that American politics might have influenced this decision. Uncle Dana is an outspoken Trump supporter and Colby also is another ourspoken Trump supporter. The presidential election will be on November heheehe. Perfect for the UFC's campaign for Trump if Colby is the welterweight champion hehehehe.

You misquoted me, mate. It was @bittraffic's comment. It's not happening though since Chimaev is now a middleweight which means Usman is not just a late noticed opponent but he is also moving up in weight.

So yeah, it is Colby vs Leon at UFC  296 this coming December 17 in Las Vegas. Belal could be next in line. I guess this was expected even before that Colby gets his shot at the title if not for the Usman-Leon rematch.

It would be a great advertisement if Colby is a champion before the US elections next year. I believe the best of Colby is more than enough to beat Leon. The only good news for Leon here is Colby's nearly 2 years of inactivity.

Sorry, I forgot to update myself. So whoever wins between Chimaev and Usman gets to fight Strickland?  This is gonna be epic if Strickland still can make an upset against Usman nor Chimaev.  I may not be rooting for Sean but it will really fun to see him defend his belt defeating Usman or Chimaev.

Colby is very favored by Dana despite his inactivity but he may actually beat Leon, very winnable for him so yep the wait is worth it to finally find a champ that he could easily beat.
549  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance's Growing Legal Troubles: Are They Facing a Crisis? on: October 16, 2023, 05:08:12 AM

Binance will still be the biggest exchange in decades, they may be caught in turbelence but they will survive. The argument that XRP did to win against the regulator will also apply to Binance token.

The company have been battling SEC, for a long time and Binance is much richer than Ripple Labs. They've been in the business for a long time and collected more wealth than Ripple team.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Gold, land which better? on: October 16, 2023, 04:40:27 AM
In my opinion, investing money that isn't mine into something too speculative is a huge no-no. Why not just use your own money instead? That way, you don't receive any crap if ever the investment goes bad. They already aren't convinced in the first place, so why force them?

This would be the key point I think.

Putting it aside, I don't know why the OP brings land into the equation, unless it is so cheap that you can buy chunks of land for $50. The normal is that you will have to save several months at least until you can buy something, whereas gold and bitcoin you can buy small amounts. The downside of gold is the premium he will pay both buying and selling and if he does DCA bitcoin he should think about buying a HW.

The rich men are actually buying lands particularly the country side properties since its the last that will be affected when there is uncertainty like ww3. Some of them are buying lands or islands in Hawaii or so.

Sometimes  the rich men are even buying yatch although we know this is going to be a liability in the long run but it make sense during war for they could just travel on their own with it to safety with their family.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2024 US Presidential Election on: October 15, 2023, 06:51:26 PM
I do not how much of it, but obviously it is more narcissism than any president of the United States is supposed to have, so they can direct their republic to a good future.

If you asked me, Trump with his peace-making speech is not only trying to appeal to people living in other countries or leaders of other nations, the way he uses this speech is order to try tk convince those who are not in favor of using tax money to fund wars, while at home there are people do cannot afford to pay for shelter and suffer in the winters, or those who cannot afford some medicine to take care of themselves.

It is a left wing speech, but twisted to bring people to vote for a man who obviously has nothing to do with left wing policies. It is a good strategy, and will stay as an strategy, since it is obvious Trump won't use that funding to pay for medicine, though.
I dislike Trump as much as the next guy and I think Biden is a much better president and on top of that I think they both should not be the president and someone younger and more fierce should get the job.

However, even I have to admit that Trump was the most anti-war president they had in a long time, everyone else constantly attacked everywhere, even the Nobel Peace prize winner Obama (how the hell did that happened is still beyond me) was bombing kids in Afghanistan while making his speech, that is the corruption of the world, Biden bombed places in the first 100 days of his presidency, he was quick to trigger as well.

Trump is a terrible human, I would not want to be in the same room as him, and he makes me want to vomit whenever he speaks, he is definitely evil to the core, but one good quality about him is that he doesn't want war, and he tries to make peace and that is a VERY important thing in our world, that would definitely be helpful at this moment.

You must have forgotten when we were on the brink of war with Iran and Trump had to be talked down by generals early in his term.  Or when he was tweeting direct threats about how his "big red button" was so big to North Korea.

He's also campaigned on attacking Mexico if elected.

Still capable of sending bullets. But it's always a wartime president that people like to vote. Joe Biden however is not that kind since the time he was seated, he hasn't really made sure he'd win a war. All he wants is to send taxpayers' funds elsewhere. Now that the Israel - Palestine war broke,  people have forgotten about Ukraine.

Biden no matter how much he wants to win a war this time, I think nothing will save his presidency for the 2nd term. He's been caught many times that his dementia is getting worse.
552  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Drake's Curse. on: October 15, 2023, 05:00:23 PM

He is a risk taker. If Paul wins by KO, it sure is a big win. Surely he isn't the only one who bet for KO since they know Paul is bigger and they know Dillon is not a boxer as well.
I have done the same when I know the fighter is a good grappler with more than half of his win being by submission, I would likely be betting for Submission as well. Sadly, sometimes it just doesn't go our way.  Anyway, Drake is a millionaire and such an amount isn't big for him.
553  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 16k DOLLARS LOSS IN JUST 1 YEAR on: October 15, 2023, 04:46:19 PM
You invested at the wrong time 2022, is still the bear market year til 2023. And you invest in altcoins that have already pumped high which it could just be waiting for investors to jump in and then it's all dumped in you.

But you are not the only one who made this mistake. Many of us have done this before thinking the bear market will not really last for years. Along the way, you also learned the crypto market has cycles and the Halving is your cue.
554  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why Ubuntu? on: October 15, 2023, 04:05:01 PM

Ubuntu has the best repositories where it's almost guaranteed the sotfwares are the most recent. However, Ubuntu requires hardware requirements that your old laptop might not have especially the latest LTS.

The best alternative for it is the Mint. It's lightweight and they are also using Ubuntu's repositories. There are certainly lighter Distros than Mint but you may find them not user-friendly because you will be using the CLI for installing some software because they don't have the Synaptic Manager.
555  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Not keeping records makes me a bad gambler? on: October 15, 2023, 03:57:35 PM
Yes, it will depend on each gambler. Some feel that if they have a record, it will keep them awake enough to stay away from gambling addiction. Some people want to know how much money they use for gambling. It all depends on a person's need to keep notes or just spend the same amount of money from time to time without calculating the total amount. And not having a record doesn't mean he's a bad gambler because maybe that was his decision, and according to him, it was a good move. And perhaps some will consider having a record of their gambling activities important.
That's right, maybe some of their gambling records are important to know the expenses so that they can limit if there are excesses that we don't think about, maybe some of the records are to see how gambling activities have been, whether they are just curious or really want to record just as a reference.

Makes sense. Myself, I don't think it is necessary because with the limit of money that has been set, it is more than enough so there is no need to look at the records again, it's just that some of them are just curious about the whole gambling. Actually there is nothing worse as long as we manage finances well for gambling.

It could be useful if the gambler had planned to track down his losses and winnings. It's easy to see whether from the time he had been gambling he profited or lost and then concluded from the record if its worth pushing through this kind of activity anymore.

As for me who had not tracked this since the beginning, I guess I just have to keep doing it until I can make a big win. I feel like I'm losing more though. The only consolation is that I enjoyed the whole process.
556  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 15, 2023, 03:17:20 PM
I am in favor of Khamzat Chimaev in this fight for me the prime of Kamaru Usman is certainly depleted and judging from his fight against Leon Edwards for sure Chimaev can destroy Edwards in a fight and for sure Chimaev can also destroy Usman for sure

Actually I'm not sure about "destroying". Chimaev is indeed my favorite fighter for this fight but actually I don't see the mentality of a champion in him. I can say that Chimaev is an immature fighter. His last match against Burns showed when Chimaev didn't listen to his coach's advice. And if this was still the same Chimaev then the outcome of the fight would have been different. It's just that I still place my bet on Chimaev.

Regardless of Chimaev's behavior, he can defeat just about anyone in the division including Usman. At short notice though you really gonna give respect to Usman for taking this fight. He does have more than 50% chance of winning the fight, I couldn't however bet for him since Chimaev can handle a fight. The only challenging fight we have seen so far from him was with Burns.

Next week is really a big event for UFC fans from Main to Prelim, they are worth watching. I'd invite few friends to bet with me at home.
557  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it easy to trust someone? on: October 15, 2023, 02:43:50 PM

WHO DO YOU TRUST WITH YOUR BANK ATM PIN? if you have a person that you fully trust with your ATM pin, can you also trust that same person with your seed phrase?

It is very difficult to build trust in someone especially when you have seen so much in your life. Trusting with an ATM pin to someone is one thing, while trusting with a seed phrase is another thing, and everyone has a different opinion regarding, who to trust.

My wife and best friend know about my ATM PINs and bank account details, and I can trust them with my life. They do know about my crypto holdings, where my seed phrases are stored, and how to decode them.

It's really hard to trust someone these days especially if you know their background. Once you learn they did stupid things before, you may really have to think twice before even entrusting some funds. If you have a kid it makes sense that you trust your wife since she will also take care of your kid once you suddenly just drop dead. She can at least get funds for them to live.

But in the current time when banks themselves are insolvent, I would run away from banks and just use BTC which I could also give the seed to my wife.
558  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An agent is no where to be found. on: October 15, 2023, 02:25:51 PM
How much was the money he won that it seemed like the agent found worth running?
If it's worth more than $1M then the agent does have plans to disappear for good and live somewhere in Belize. Such a case where a lucky day turned into a nightmare.

I would probably let is slide if it happened to me if this is just a random case but if it happens twice or multiple times already I would already suspect the whole gambling house is ruled by a mob that targets a nobody who has no one else to turn to.
559  Other / Meta / Re: Should there be sub forums under Scam Accusations? on: October 14, 2023, 08:21:38 PM
Scam accusation is already a subforum and it will add 4 more child forums. Somehow it's neat and easier to navigate and find scam accusations on one page but over time, they piled up til sent to 2nd to a hundred more pages also. If a user wanted to look for a particular scam accusation, they could also use the search box. The 2024, kids seem to be aware of to use of Google and search boxes already.

560  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take to play casino? on: October 14, 2023, 07:58:04 PM

To be honest, I play sports betting more often than casino games like dice or slots. Even in sports betting most people place bets on the results of analysis or maybe because they are fans. Still, I think that betting technique or skill is secondary. The first is still luck which will determine victory when we bet.
I don't really understand card games, they definitely require skill. but when the cards are dealt it is also part of the gambler's luck to get good or bad cards.

The most of the gambler play the sports bet,but they shouldn’t forgot the old games.Even though I will not quit my dice games, which is the most favourite one along with the Soccer. The sports bet was the most like game around the world, because every one of us had the capacity to gain more knowledge of the soccer. But the dice itself not recited instantly.Even we predict the sports betting using the players experience and the game may change at any point. The performance of the player may change based on their health condition.

Not a fan of soccer but I always bet on such matches because when one team gets the first score, it's often the winner already. It's hard to score in soccer in my opinion even when it's what I did, I still lost money from this game. Never did I win that accumulated a large sum, I always ended up losing it all unlike in some other sports like boxing.

Whichever casino a gambler wins their best in sports, I think they stick to this casino to restage their win.
