541  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: September 13, 2020, 11:36:56 PM
Yeah, I believe game 6 for Nuggets will be the last game of the series. Clippers had the game, but they relaxed to early and it cost them the win. They won't repeat that again I'm sure. Shame for Raptors that they couldn't win, I liked their fighting spirit, but Boston probably deserves it a bit more.

I expect Miami - Boston to be another 6-7 games series.

Bro the Miami Heat almost wiped Milwaukee Bucks the number 1 seeded team in the East what do you think will happen when Miami faced the 3rd seeded team in the East? Because I believe it wouldn't even go as far as the 5th game of the series for us to show Miami can take down Boston easily. Also Boston Celtics is still uncertain when will Gordon Hayward will return and they definitely need him in this series if they want someone to match with Butler.
542  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for Blockchain developer - new/experience/work for coin on: September 13, 2020, 10:11:00 PM
If you want to save time on filtering or choosing the right dev for your project I think the best route to go to is to go in freelancing websites and try to look in there. At least by using those websites you will see a lot of feedback on their previous work and see if they are fit for your needs. You also have the option to contact them and see if they take shares of your project or cryptocurrency but definitely they will be flexible especially if they are devs in the crypto industry.
543  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: SEC Charges Film Producer, Rapper, and Others for Participation in 2 Fraudulent on: September 13, 2020, 09:20:03 PM
From how I understand this case the 75,000$ penalty is only for TI the rapper since he mislead people in his promotion as well as being involved with the FLIK tokens, the ones who are getting a higher penalty will be Ryan Felton the producer since he did the fraud itself. If you are looking for a much "worser" penalty like them going to prison I don't think you will see that happening since this is counted as a white collar crime and monetary penalties are more common in these kinds of cases.
544  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Legit trading courses on: September 13, 2020, 08:19:11 PM
There's no harm in trying if you want to learn, because any person will have different feedbacks overall when it comes to learning. Some of them might learn and understand fast on what they are teaching while others won't learn anything at all. If you have the money to spend and try for the recommended ones it's your choice but if you don't have any money for it I would suggest just doing free online courses and maybe you will pick up a thing or two on that one.
545  Other / Meta / Re: Revoke self-moderating privileges from korner and other hypertrolls on: September 13, 2020, 07:08:31 PM
I don't think removing his privilege from creating self-moderated threads will stop him for continuing what he is doing, he can simply just create a new account in order to create self-moderated threads from that point. The discussion about him on the other thread was right where just by simply avoiding the topics he created this problem wouldn't exists, just by simply not posting in his thread you aren't feeding him any kind of satisfaction for his trolling.
546  Economy / Economics / Re: Rampant inflation, yet a steady exchange rate. on: September 13, 2020, 06:12:37 PM
I can't blame FOREX traders on shorting your currency bro. With the cues of seeing the government doing a bad job with your economy and printing more banknotes that are just signs that they should drop your currency. I as an investor would do the same thing if I am holding your currency in one of my portfolio, I won't hold and speculate that the price will improve because I know for a fact that the price will go down because of the situation. Traders will be traders and they aren't the ones to blame here.
547  Economy / Speculation / Re: What affects the price of bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies on: September 12, 2020, 11:37:14 PM
4. Community size: The scale of the group is what significantly impacts the Bitcoin price or every other crypto. A wide group is signalling that there is strong interest for this coin. Many businesses and individuals use it, and that broad adoption encourages more growth.

5. Ecosystem development: Many cryptos have their issues even the head of it all Bitcoin. Presently scalability is the main challenge of bitcoin, This means the network is unable to deal with the rising amount of transfers that users submit. Many cryptos have their issues too and these issues can cause a decrease in the price of them

I think you can remove this two since "Community Size" is something already part of the "demand" part of demand and supply. We can't really separate them since you are just basically telling another definition for demand. For the ecosystem and development I think this just all go into market speculation, even if there is something new with their development we can't really translate this into an automatic price increase for a cryptocurrency. We have seen it before where project devs even if they worked their ass off on a new development it doesn't translate into any price increase for their projects.
548  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2020-09-08]Bitfinex Invests in Derivatives Exchange Built With Bitcoin’s LN on: September 12, 2020, 09:55:58 PM
I think this will attract a lot of attention from hackers especially that we all know that Lightning Network now is vulnerable to the Flood and Loot attack. Two months ago some researchers have spotted a vulnerability of the Lightning Network where they will be taking advantage of the transactions being off-chain. If this system becomes more popular and they will have a lot of transactions going on within Lightning Network it is possible that the users will be doing the work for them. There are proposals for a fix but I didn't see any updates regarding an implementation for this one.
549  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Blockchain.com Phishing Attempt on: September 09, 2020, 03:08:41 PM
Thanks your the warning but I wonder (and you should too) how your emails is attacked like that. Did you arbitrarily share your email address publicly somewhere? It is a big risk when you or anyone else do so.

As one of the people receiving these kind of emails I honestly don't know but these fraudsters definitely have their ways on getting your email addresses. From getting the contact list of the ones they have previously hacked to buying email lists in the dark web and as well as maybe this one time we have publicly posted our email we can say that there is various ways for a fraudster to get out email, they can just basically guess it just by typing in the inbox and the email service will say whether or not that email exists. Mostly spam mail like this is not on the user's fault as based from my personal experience I know a lot of people are not posting their emails publicly.
550  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bithumb In Trouble, Police Raids Exchange for Second Time In One Week on: September 09, 2020, 02:14:44 PM
It's because they violate some aggremeent afaik, and it's Bithumb Korea, not the global one. I use the global one and so far found no issues.

But as always, no exchange is trustworthy. Better to be safe than sorry.

Whether it is just Bithumb Korea, Bithumb is still Bithumb in a way that only one or a group of people owns it. If the fraud is confirmed there is a big possibility that it could be tied down to the global operations which I think will really happen especially when you consider that 25,000,000$ worth of crypto suddenly disappearing will always smell like there is a lot of moving parts for it to be done. Remember the WireCard scandal that has come out recently? Until now they are piecing together who are really connected mentioning companies from Singapore, Germany, and US.
551  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: September 09, 2020, 01:14:42 PM
Sandro Tonali's move to AC Milan is official and has been confirmed by one of the correspondent following AC Milan. Tonali is said to have signed a 5 year contract with Milan paying him 2 million Euros a year, his first match for Milan will be against his old team Brescia which I think will be a good debut for him. It looks like AC Milan is trying to improve their roster again with a lot of players being linked to them as well as a lot of key players from the team being made available for transfer.
552  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Slakia.com – a P2P Buy Sell Trade Bitcoin Escrow Officially Launched on: September 09, 2020, 12:20:12 PM
Company doesn't exist in the company registry of Seychelles

Care to explain why? Even if I only search the word "Slakia" in their registry search it would return 0 results as well. Is your company really registered or is there any particular reason why you aren't appearing into their system? Of course I would like to give you the benefit of doubt but you are a new face in the P2P market and we are just here trying to protect newbies from entering into a scam.
553  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Taxes for Airdrops and Rewards? on: September 09, 2020, 11:34:17 AM
For the Airdrop itself you I think with what squatter said it is treated as an "ordinary income" in the IRS which I'm sure will defer to every country as probably some countries might consider this as some form of donation rather than income. For you to realize capital gains is simply selling your received cryptocurrency above the fair market value during the airdrop had happened. But if you simply want to avoid this tax I think selling it right away without risking any kind of devaluation for that crypto is a good alternative for you.
554  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Too much HODLing stealing opportunities? on: September 09, 2020, 11:10:41 AM
Isn't it true that too long a hodl can stop you from taking great opportunities while sitting dumb and waiting for a specific target?

Yeah this is true and the problem here is most newbies in the market who have these kinds of situation where they can profit from it are almost always don't know what to do with it. I don't know if they are striving for a more bigger price or they just waiting for something but generally they are just relax while the price is climbing as they think it won't stop going up. But all of this would change once they see that big long red candle and everyone is starting to panic. That's how majority of  the new traders act, they lack the ability to push that sell button and just continue to hodl it.

I think this is something that each and every individual needs to decide for themselves irrespective of whether they're a new or not to trading. And a way to do exactly this and avoid not selling when you're in good profit is to predetermine a x% profit. Only then you can avoid not beating yourself up after your potential profit is long gone. Like I mentioned, this is a lesson for both new and old

Yeah people can take profit as long as they want to do so as it is there position, but what I'm pointing out are the people who don't even realize the opportunity and don't do any action for it. They hodly it long enough that when the prices goes down they will be hodling their position at a loss. After that they'll flood the forum creating topics with negativity in it saying "Bitcoin is Dead" or a "Bubble" they will always blame it on Bitcoin but they don't realize in any kind of asset market the only ones to blame with their loss are themselves not unless what they are saying to that asset is true.
555  Economy / Reputation / Re: Experiment, the last 10 ETH address found in Patrol. 50% Genuine users* on: September 09, 2020, 10:28:55 AM
I guess if a lot of members trying to do background checks for any bounty cheaters in the patrol section in this way they can eliminate most of the members trying to cheat the forum.
We should definitely strive for that and remove bounty abusers and spammers, but this situation is not easily solvable, as majority of them are using easily disposable newbie accounts, and every time they get banned, they simply make new one. Smarter ones change social media accounts so they can't be traced that way and that's about it. This  often might seem like a Whack-A-Mole, but it's worth it nevertheless.

By the way, an interesting experiment.  I am not surprised with the results and real situation is probably much worse in that regard but it is a good starting point to see where we stand at the moment.

The experiment only showed OP connecting bounty abusers by way of their ETH address and I can say for myself that is is effecting. The ones who are smarter would definitely not commit this kind of mistake and they are harder to catch, but the one thing I know how to catch them is diving in deeply into their ETH addresses and connecting them with each other showing how they deposit it to one address. I've seen threads before on how members catch one person controlling over multiple accounts. But with this method of search ETH address in the patrol section we can prevent even new accounts for abusing the campaign which I think is a big step for stopping these users growing in numbers.
556  Economy / Reputation / Re: Experiment, the last 10 ETH address found in Patrol. 50% Genuine users* on: September 08, 2020, 10:11:55 PM
With 50% of you catching someone by using your technique I think it is a good idea of preventing newbie accounts and users cheating a bounty campaign. And with the follow up YOSHIE did it just shows how effective monitoring the posts in the Patrol section is. I guess if a lot of members trying to do background checks for any bounty cheaters in the patrol section in this way they can eliminate most of the members trying to cheat the forum. Plus I think this is an easier way to clean-up the forum with alt-accounts without them going to threads one by one.
557  Other / Meta / Re: Rapid shitposting attack on: September 08, 2020, 09:04:13 PM
I don't see a benefit from what they are doing right now. If they are trying to earn a merit with "sheer volume" I think they won't get any as one-liners especially the ones without sense won't be attracting any merits in their way, quality is always more important compared to the quantity of posts you are making in the forum. These might just be newbies who think that they can still rank up just by activity alone or they are just persons who have a lot of time and wasting it on senseless post.
558  Economy / Economics / Re: I have discovered Something about covid 19 on: September 08, 2020, 03:52:32 PM
IMO opinion COVID-19 was never a smokescreen on something but tbh it's the complete opposite. And what I mean about that is with this virus you will see what's wrong with our government as well as with our citizens. Before the pandemic even spread the governments of most countries have the chance to contain the virus earlier but what they did is they just let it pass like it was just nothing for them, now that everything worsened you will see a lot of their flaws when it comes to running their own country. For the citizens you will see a considerable amount of people violating quarantine protocols and even to the simple rule of wearing a facemask just for their protection. COVID-19 was never some kind of smokescreen it is the truth teller.

560  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we at the first sell off point now?. on: September 08, 2020, 12:51:22 PM
If we consider our ATH as the point of new paradigm in 2017 I think we are still at the point of the market cycle trying to reach that. Remember that during that time we only have that price point only for a few moments rather than really hang in there as compared to the price hovering around 10,000-11,000$. So for me we are still at the stage where Bitcoin is attempting to pursue a new ATH or at least near it to say that we are on a new market cycle now. Because with the price going up and all but without any volume supporting the price movement I doubt we are over a new market cycle.
