541  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH sell now then re-buy later? on: June 15, 2017, 07:45:29 AM
Hello,

This would be pure speculation, I know, this is more of a "what would you do?" question.

I bought $2,000 US worth of ETH when it was trading at $240 US. I see some analysts saying that ETH will hover around $320-390 before a crash happens. I am sure it will rebound nicely after this supposed crash but would you sell ETH now while you're still in the green, keep the USD in your wallet and then re-buy when/if ETH falls?

Thanks in advance for any and all replies.

You already made a profit, but I don't think is a good time to sell now as the cryptocurrencies are facing a "dump" these days because of the bitcoin price that has been decreased too much. I think that I would hold a little bit even though the price is going lower and lower (in the past 2 days ETH price dropped for $50+) that's a huge loss for you.
542  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is happening ? = all coins down by 20 to 35 % on: June 15, 2017, 07:40:37 AM
Any incoming nuclear war ? Or any worldwide bad news that we should know ? WTF ? ahahaha

Bitcoin is affecting all other coins' value, there is no doubt that other coins are not independent from bitcoin yet, as usually when the price drops there we see the "it's a good time to buy now" yes it is but we should think also that the price can go lower but as usual let's hope that the price will go up again and now reaching the $3k.
543  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Where to buy ICOs on: June 15, 2017, 07:35:06 AM
Is there an exchange where you can buy ICOs with bitcoin? A reputable one that deals with all of the upcoming ICOs.

Most of the ICOs have their own platform to purchase the tokens and participate in the ICO, and you have no other choice rather than participate there and trust your money to them, this is risky I know but there is no other option. I have seen in the past that bittrex had listed an ICO coin but don't know if they can list more.
544  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's still really hard to use bitcoin as a regular currency on: June 15, 2017, 07:27:15 AM
Not always using bitcoin is good and cheap, to make small (micro) payments then bitcoin is not a good currency because the fees that are required to be confirmed in the next blocks or in the same day are very high and not recommended for these kind of payments. Using bitcoin for everyday use is hard to because of these fees and waiting confirmations, making multiple transaction within a day doesn't seems good nor cheap.
545  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: too high transaction cost? on: June 11, 2017, 06:58:07 PM
In the last block the transcation fees are from 0.0006 - 0.001 - 0.003 so the average is 0.0015, it is still high comparing with the fees that were before at 0.0001 which is still actual in the poloniex exchange! Can you show us the transaction ID because it seems unbelievable that you paid 25 USD in transaction fees.
546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: That moment when you buy 1BTC at $2500 on: June 11, 2017, 06:12:46 PM
That moment when you buy 1BTC at $2500, and then 3 days later someone buys it at $2000. But I'm guessing that it's the risk involved in investing, so what do I do now? Sell? Or hold on them?

That shouldn't be a surprise if you check the bitcoin price how often and how much does it change within a short period of time, I know you are worried about the drop that happened at that time but be happy that the price has been increased for almost +$500, my recommendation is to hold them and not sell if you can really afford that for a year or more.
547  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving bitcoins on: June 09, 2017, 11:45:16 PM
If I decided to save bitcoins in bank, how will deposit rate be changed compared to dollar or other currencies? Will it have much lower percent?

There is no need to save the bitcoins in the bank, because it is not save 100% and from what I have seen (from movies) the police or anyother high institution has the right to check your bank account and if you have any deposit they have the right to go and check what you have (i.e in USB) and see that you have the bitcoin wallet, of course they can't access if you had encrypted or because of the seed but at least you won't have the right to access your money!
548  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin reduces unemployment on: June 09, 2017, 11:35:47 PM
I think in the presence of bitcoin will reduce unemployment, because searching for bitcoin also requires hard work and creativity, and competitiveness in bitcoin is also high almost similar to work in the real world

What is your opinion this time?

It started as a hobby now there are lots of jobs that are focuses in bitcoin and in blockchain and who knows what programmers and other developers are being prepared now for the future that they don't even know. Now employees can be paid in bitcoin (lucky them) and earn money while they are just saving which is at the same time a good investment. Not only bitcoin but also altcoin has reduced the number of unemployed people.
549  Economy / Economics / Re: Why 21BTC seems to be the target of anyone?? on: June 09, 2017, 11:26:11 PM
I have been reading posts on forums and articules about BTC and everybody seem to focus the target to achieve 21BTC, Why 21 Huh?

There will be maximum of 21 million bitcoins at the end of the bitcoin mining but maybe we won't be alive based on the calculation that satoshi has made because the halving will happen almost every 4 years and it will take really a long time until all 21 millino bitcoins will be mined. The goal of people is to be part of the 1 million club which means that only 1 million people are able to hold 21 bitcoins maximum.
550  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SNC] SunContract - Decentralized Energy Market on: June 09, 2017, 11:18:01 PM
This ICO will get a lot of boost if the devs post photos of the solar farm.

I'm a potential investor and people who will invest in suncontract should know as much things as possible about this awesome project that will be released very soon in many countries as they have stated in the main post. The idea is good and when you say that the photos of the solar farm of course that when people see that things are going good, the solar farm are being deployed then people would hesitate less investing and contributing in SunContract.
551  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Warning !!! about coinbase web wallet.. on: June 09, 2017, 11:13:00 PM
...use Electrum or other desktop wallets ...Of course, you pay for your own fees.
For anyone who doesn't like paying for their own transaction fees, then deal with all those strings attached.
...I use both. Coinbase for when I'm skimping on fees and Electrum for the main wallet.
What are the fees like when you use your own desktop wallet and
how long does it take to download the whole blockchain with setup of Electrum or desktop wallets?

This is the lowest fee at the moment that we can set in Electrum, if you are not in hurry when transfering the bitcoin then this is a good option to save a little bit in fees. But 0.004btc/kB is standard fee for transaction to be included in the next 5 blocks otherwise with a fee of 0.007btc/kB it shows that tthe transaction can be included in the next 1st block.
552  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Warning !!! about coinbase web wallet.. on: June 09, 2017, 10:50:03 PM
It is good that there is bitcointalk. Today I just registered there, but luckily I haven't put a single cent. Now I will not. If so many negative reviews on this forum then it is a sure sign that it is possible to lose all of my coins.

Most of people that use bitcoin and that make bitcoin transaction with a low amount of bitcoin want to find a wallet that could cover the transaction fees, and so coinbase and xapo were but now they aren't anymore because the transcation fees has been increased very much. Coinbase is a good exchange buying selling bitcoin but as we know they require to be verified and the fees are not low.
553  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: send bitcoin to bank wire (SEPA) on: June 09, 2017, 10:13:24 PM
Is there some service where you can enter IBAN / BIC (bank wire account number), send bitcoin to an address and then have magically the BTC converted to fiat and sent to the recipient's account?

Would be sometimes useful to pay bills.

Something like bitbill.eu? I just searched in google and found that there are some services that offer service that you are requiring for. Since SEPA transfers are fast and are available only in european countries then bitbill should fullfill your requirments. For other countries i think bitwala should work too, it's highly ranked in search engines to pay bills with bitcoins.
554  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we suggest bitcoin to people after this? on: June 09, 2017, 10:04:20 PM
We all know how wonderful was bitcoin at first, fast mining and fast confirmations. But now will new people in crypto start using bitcoin? Fees are so high, very bad, it's only for 2000$ and higher transactions because of it's high fees. It's useless for normal transactions because why the hell will I use bitcoin if I want to pay something, for example paying 10$ for mobile network when I have to pay additional bitcoins fee which is nearly 2$? Is there any logic? If I want to start bitcoin business, how can I tell people that it's good? If I say so, than this will be 100% lie. Bitcoin don't gives us opportunity to spread it worldwide because it sucks now. It's now good for rich people and darknet users, not for someone who wants to use it as an alternative of real money.

For low value transaction it really doesn't worth, much cheaper are the other cryptocurrencies like ethereum or doge which charge almost nothing compared to bitcoin which is very expensive now. If we transfer a high amount of money $100, 1000+ then I think that it worth but it's not like before, now people will think twice before making any transfer.
In this matter, more precise amendments are needed, otherwise people will really not want to use Bitcoin, because of expensive transactions and therefore one must look for a way out in this situation. Because we will lose the popularity of Bitcoin in the future.

We see that even though the transaction fees are much higher than before the number of transaction is still high, the number of unconfirmed transaction is also high enough, this because of the bitcoin popularity. But if this will not get lowered/fixed then we will see a slightly decrease of bitcoin popularity or slightly a lower number of bitcoin transaction within 24 hours.

556  Economy / Economics / Re: Is bitcoin now the strongest currency in the world? on: June 09, 2017, 01:13:43 AM
It's not the strongest because it is not very stable and there are some things that need to be fixed (Which I hope some of them will happen later this year), of course the price of bitcoin is taking peoples' attention and many people are investing in bitcoin rather than using it for transferring money or so but it has the potential to be one of the best/strongest currency in the world as the community is expanding very good and fast.
557  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex XRP withdrawal issue on: June 09, 2017, 01:09:43 AM
Its passed one month I am trying to contact Poloniex Support Team but till now they have not reply my tickets.

The issue is that i did XRP withdrawal but thrice the status is Complete Error.

The XRP is not been received to the receiving address and not refunded back to me on the account.

Please help me with my problem.
It sounds like their end probably shows it as solved/successful withdraw so they aren't noticing your messages... Maybe try on the trollbox? Cool

There is no trollbox now, now the moderators that were in the trollbox are in the support team and are trying to resolve the problems faster than before, don't know how much effective is that but they recommend to not send many repeat tickets as it will not get that ticked resolved "faster".

558  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Storing on Exchange vs mobile? on: June 09, 2017, 01:00:58 AM
exchange... i don't really trust mobile wallets..

popualar exchanges have cold wallets.

Simply, I don't agree with you. It depends what mobile wallet are  you using because there are many exchanges that have their mobile apps but still the money is in exchanges. For example Mycelium is a good mobile wallet which is safe enough as long as you stay safe. Exchanges of course that have hot and cold wallets but we have seen many times that those "cold" wallets are getting hacked easily.
559  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Poloniex ticket (unfreeze account) - no response for 12 days. Is it normal? on: June 09, 2017, 12:49:49 AM
You would have to be patient with Poloniex, theyre having issues with their exchange right now with all the lagging and the double transaction withdrawals happening.

My advice would be to keep emailing them. Irritating them worked for me before, but I had the right to since I had over BTC10 in my account, and it was a verified account.

If they delayed your request even though you are verified and with over 25k USD in account then what could we except when we are not verified and with much lower balance? I think that poloniex should increase the number of members in their team because they are getting lots of users.
560  Economy / Invites & Accounts / Re: [WTS] [OO] Instagram Account - 32.2k Followers on: June 08, 2017, 04:46:24 PM
[OO] Means original owner.

Hi there. i am selling my instagram account with 32.2k real followers. page is about art works. per post can reach 1k likes daily.

Selling it for $200 worth of bitcoins. no discounts. cannot drop the price.

Willing to use escrow.

I'm interested to know more info about the account, how can you prove that you are the original owner and that you won't try to claim it back after a time? If I choose to buy I would buy it only through escrow, will you accept? I would like know the audience how much is active, where are the followers from and have you tried to increase the reach and followers with bots or all naturally?
