Great work on the wallet! Getting plots completed (even if my poor old laptop took three tries to get it done) and getting to mining was very easy, the GUI looks great, and there's a lot of nice features.

We're continually improving user experience and features. Stay tuned!

Happy to report that the NRS version 1.2.6 for Windows is working like a CHARM - Everything is SO simple an self explanatory, that I was Pool Mining in NO time (once I had written my Plots)! LOVE how this Coin is also MUCH more "green" than others, using very small amounts of psu/energy. Thanks BURST!   Smiley

We're glad you're happy, stay tuned for our next announcements. Welcome to BURST!

Also, just so everyone knows, I've asked Sebastian AKA b457 to come make contact so asset holders feel more secure. Smiley

Rich, I don't know why you're always so cynical... however, here's the explanation once again...

Call my cynical if you like.  Smiley  But..... I still find it curious that 6 Months ago 50 miners representing around half the network appeared out of nowhere and have now moved on from ninja to an anonymous pool.

As they are so dominant it would be nice for their background and objectives to be made clear as opposed to your rather thin "explanation" of them being "a large group of miners"

BTW I actually quite liked the option of Mining with them as it made for a very steady and predictable income, as opposed to the variance that one faces on a Pool winning very few blocks.

Rich

Well, as far as I know from my communications with them, and their decision to help development with 2% of their mining income, and also still support the assets based on the other pools, they have no mal intent whatsoever.

I think that potentially we can consolidate on a few of the pools, and make a few larger ones, and/or just wait for more miners to join. I'll also ask them if they're willing to move a few back to ninja. I do know that they didn't like the higher deadline limits on the smaller pools, so they prefer ninja's limit or lower.

565  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] -NEW BURST OP- MINE ANY FREE SPACE-(HDD MINING)- ATs, AE, P2P MARKET+MORE! on: September 19, 2016, 08:38:12 PM
Rich, I don't know why you're always so cynical... however, here's the explanation once again...

This is a large group of miners who have moved now to a new pool, I will likely have them move a few back to ninja though, as their pool is now dominating the network. We are just trying to get the power balanced out.

They are donating 2% to development, and 2% to the assets based on our other pools, so they aren't taking any coin away from the assets, and they're also helping to pay for development.

Having them all on ninja was making ninja too large, and since a lot of people didn't want to move from ninja, we just had them move to another pool.

I'll likely ask them to move a few miners back to ninja, and maybe a couple to a few other pools.

But... just so you know, it doesn't take away from your income, no matter what... you'll just get bigger payouts when you do get payouts as opposed to a bunch of smaller ones. The pool's number of blocks really makes no difference to your overall income.

I do not agree. The current features of Qora offers more than 95% of the blockchain projects do with more than 1 million Dollar market cap. For that reason, Qora should be play in the league like Nxt, Lisk, Factom etc. This would mean a market cap ten times higher than your mentioned market cap. Between 20-30 million $.

Qora should be sustainable and comfortable around $2-3 million marketcap imo given the amount of innovation that went into it earlier and ongoing development and support. I'm still holding and expect it to reach the reasonable marketcap levels. $2-3 mil is not expecting too much, it could actually go way higher

Not sure about 20-30 mil.

I already invested because I believed it was worth a lot more than $1mil but if it really is worth 20-30 mil then surely there is huge opportunity for a big investor to buy up all the cheap Qora and make the price sustainable at a much higher level. Why isn't it happening?

Maybe because not a lot of people are familiar with it.

Just wait... a new development has happened that I didn't expect for months... I'm EXTREMELY excited about it, but I can't say anything specific quite yet, we're playing on the testnet with it now... and I must say... exceeds expectations, totally awesome! Can't wait to share with everyone!

Partly because of a very inactive twitter imo. Qora needs a committed twitter manager

Yea, I've been a bit busy lately, but I'm getting back into the swing of monitoring and posting on BURST and QORA twitter accounts. I think I will also appoint a dedicated twitter manager here shortly.

As far as the development I mentioned, I'm just awaiting vbcs' approval to show it to you all. I'm also awaiting some modifications to the tool, and also to figure out how exactly we're going to put it out there to everyone. But don't fear, I'll be showing you all soon!

yes mate it is needed to have more advertisement from the social media to inform more traders about the project and the ongoing development.

I've restarted the wallet, it should be back up momentarily.

Also, I noticed a few API requests being sent to the wallet, to upload content. Just so that everyone knows... you cannot use hosted wallets to upload content. That must be done with local wallets. Thanks!

At work the computers have free HDD space and I use it to earn burst ^^. Then I do half intensity mining at night. The HDD doesn't get used so much more then normal and there is always space so it was only going to waste so now I make something with nothing.

As long as your workplace is okay with it, you don't want to get in trouble, heh. But yea, that's exactly what we try to get through to people. You already HAVE freespace, why not use it to earn some coin? Smiley

Might be interested, just basically bookmarking this while at the same time letting you know, in case I can't find something closer. xD Any idea on shipping costs for packs of 4 or 8? Reno, NV 89521 ty.
571  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Antminer Blowout Sale S4, S7's, S7LN's, S9's on: September 16, 2016, 05:31:27 AM
I might want to take that S9 off your hands, and possibly both S7's at 4.7 TH. potentially the PSU's as well, if we can work out a decent deal.

I'm in Reno, NV. Shipping shouldn't be too much to me.

What are your prices?

Any dev here?
IF you need a portuguese translation, pm me.

All the best!

I'll be putting up a new OP here shortly, not hugely different, but different. We could use as many translations as possible, they are always good.

Feel free to join us in the chat https://alttech.chat and we'll talk. Thanks!

Great video.

...but I donīt like the music, sorry @crow  Tongue

Maybe it is a little bit too long. But it takes time to tell all the amazing features of the coin.

So, really good work!

No apology necessary, my style isn't for everyone. But I think it fits the video nicely...

About the length... Yea, it's hard to fit all of BURST's awesome features into any shorter a video. But I think overall it's really good.
575  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] -NEW BURST OP- MINE ANY FREE SPACE-(HDD MINING)- ATs, AE, P2P MARKET+MORE! on: September 15, 2016, 11:59:39 PM
This is a little request for dev team.
When you will be writing new version of wallet, could you add the option for input of your own password? because at the moment i think it is easy to get into wallet if you leave your desktop logged in/unlocked.

If it is possible and not complicated, this would be great addition to security.

Another thing that I did not have time to try yet but I will over the weekend is that if I copy the .txt file with encrypted passphrase to different wallet on different computer will I be able to load wallet through account manager?

You can definitely back your password up in another location. You can also make your password whatever you'd like.    You don't have to use the auto-generated password, but... I would definitely suggest making your password 50+ characters, so make sure you back it up SAFELY and EXACTLY as you typed it, or you could lose access to your account.

Remember, with BURST, your passphrase is your private key, it's a bit different than BTC type wallets. Thanks!

edit- answering second question, yes, it is also compatible with mobile wallets. But yes, you can copy to another system as well.

We will likely do a second layer of encryption on the password manager, as right now, I agree, it isn't as secure as it could be... It was built for ease of use, and it does save encrypted, but if someone has access to your computer and knows what they're doing, they could potentially get into your wallet. So we will be reworking the way that works in the future.

What I recommend is saving your password in an encrypted zip file, THEN encrypted with the windows wallet, so that you  have more security.

I have to say the thing that made me notice the project was the initial pump so thank you to whoever did that. This project however has begun to grow on me and it does have very high potential; even more for being highly undervalued. I wish the development the best

Thank you, we appreciate your support!

I believe BURST has THE BEST community in crypto, hands down. But I may be a bit biased! heh.

Come join us in the chat - https://alttech.chat - our custom slack alternative with no message limits or data theft

and also join us in the wonderful BURST forums! - http://forums.burst-team.us

Welcome to BURST, we hope you enjoy your time with us, and hope you like it enough to invite others! Check out the asset exchange, there's a great place to make good APR for holding assets, and also another market to make gains on trades. BURST has a multi-faceted money making system, with all of the features that all coins hope to have. Have fun!

IS CYAM still involved with qora and burst?

(it's CIYAM btw.)

Let me put it this way... CIYAM is still around, and I am in communication with him almost daily. He is not directly working with QORA or BURST, however he is there for consultation and assistance when we need it, and to help out with certain things. He's a good friend and only wants to see our dreams become a reality.

I don't want to say much more than this, as he's tired of the trolling on the forums, and isn't around anymore on bitcointalk. I'm honored to work with him, and I'm pleased that he's helping in the capacity that he is. Thanks!
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Burstcoin [BURST] Price Speculation on: September 15, 2016, 05:46:28 PM
iam not believed burst coin
last week up veryhigh this precentage

if you can make a good profit with burstcoin, why not? this is what i am think when i am starting to trade in bitcoin and altcoins because i am not a big fans of any coins so if there is any good chance to make my bitcoin grow, i will buy and sell it to get profit.

But not with Burstcoin. The bubble already popped and is deflating.

If you think that over 3x higher than it was about a month ago, is bad... I'm not sure what to say about that.

Everyone who trades knows that the pumps lead to a downtrend and then to another pump. This would be the time to buy in anticipation of the next uptick. IMO.

I've bought from 125-150 and will continue to do so.

The company I'm working as CTO for will start using BURST and our other coins to do worldwide money transfers of large amounts in the near future, and I've also got a meeting on Monday to bring in the first brick and mortar company to accept BURST as payment. They've never accepted anything but cash in over 40 years of business, so it's a pretty big deal for them.

Here's also, a new PR video for BURST - https://youtu.be/b1cF_a9kSbE

I wrote the music for it, and will be starting a CrowdFund for more videos like this in the future when I get back from my errands today. Thanks!

here's to the future!

[ANNouncement] - QORA bugfixes done (not pushed yet will be soon) and some new ideas for the future

Hello everyone, hope you're all having a great week!

I wanted to let everyone know that skerberus has made a few bugfixes to the wallet, which should be pushed soon. Also, we've been talking about a future idea such as this...

We will use QORA 1 as a hosting service for news agencies to decentralize their content. Since the content isn't encrypted on QORA 1 (it will be on QORA 2) it is at risk for certain illegal content problems.

To combat these problems, we will likely implement a rating system for the content, and allow the illegal or immoral content to be banned or removed, and allow people to cut certain content from being put onto their nodes, to eliminate the potential of having illegal content on their node.

Accounts will be rated, and high ratings will allow them to be 'in the clear' and basically post any content they choose, as their high rating will mean their content is not illegal. Accounts with no rating or low rating can build their rating by only putting up good content, or can be banned by nodes if they post illegal content.

This will be implemented soon, and I'll give all of the details. For now, I'm going to be reaching out further to news agencies and other sites that host content, and seeing if they'd be interested in a decentralized option.

Much more to come! The new algo for QORA 1 is in development, I'll post more on this soon!

(also, FYI, new BURST promo video released, we'll be doing ones like this for QORA as well - https://youtu.be/b1cF_a9kSbE)

That's one of the uses for the PR crowdfund that we started, that hopefully we get fulfilled! If not, we'll talk about other options for funding. Thank you all and have a great week!

[ANNouncement] - NEW BURST professional PR video released!

Also, CrowdFund to be started today for funding for more videos of this quality! I will post about that later today when I get back from a few errands. Smiley

Here we are folks, our newest professional PR video, which I wrote the music for... enjoy!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1cF_a9kSbE

CrowdFund will be started later today for more videos like this, thanks!

Also, just an FYI - the multi million dollar company that I'm now CTO for... will likely use our coins for multi hundred thousand USD money transfers here in the near future.

I'm also going to speak to the owner of a 54 year old barber shop locally who will be the first brick and mortar company to accept BURST as payment, and he only accepts cash right now and has for the entire time he's been in business!

More soon! Wink
