561  Other / Meta / Re: Can you find which mod deleted a post to ask why? on: May 05, 2019, 11:44:55 PM
achow101 runs a very tight ship in Bitcoin > Development & Technical Discussion and will delete anything that seems even slightly off topic. He will also lock any threads that degrade to people starting to call each other names. You can pm achow101 directly asking why he deleted the post. He will probably give his rationale to you. He has to me when I have asked. gmaxwell may have deleted your post too; however, achow101 is the most active moderator of that board.
562  Economy / Services / Re: [CFNP] LiveCoin Signature Campaign | Hero/Legendary Members | Up to 0.02BTC/Week on: May 03, 2019, 06:16:23 PM
Hello all,
I had Loyce V create a couple of charts that track the merit earned by all Livecoin participants and thought I'd share it here. Quickseller is really reaping in the merits.  Wink
Maybe one chart for the heros (In order of most earned merit to least)
Code:
459781 176461 704041 713656 152750 782831 846317 147451 798218 228385

and one chart for the legendaries(In order of most earned merit to least)
Code:
358020 452769 156665 153644 405482 227602 639420 27470 525061 505752

These graphs include today's Merit data dump.
563  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 03, 2019, 01:20:48 PM
So at the moment I'm on 0 and I feel the relief.
I've literally never reached that point, it was a relief already to empty my source. It quickly piles up if I'm less active for a few days.

I regularly empty my source and smerit at around this time of the month. Bad pacing on my part. However, if you did the same, Loyce, you would pass me in the rankings of most generous merit senders and I would never be able to catch up. You are a merit-earning machine.
564  Other / Meta / Re: [parody] Merit Backstabbers: who stabbed who in the back the most? on: May 03, 2019, 01:07:50 PM
Should I create an update tomorrow?

Sure, let's see the continued slaughter of suchmoon. I have a bunch of backstabeers too, but I'm sure most of them will fall under the top 100.
565  Economy / Reputation / Re: LoyceV vs DdmrDdmr (and get your own Merit graph: up to 10 users per graph) on: May 03, 2019, 01:03:29 PM
Thank you so much Loyce. Looks like Quickseller has been slinging his sig right, and has been kicking my ass when it comes to merit earning.  Cheesy
566  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 03, 2019, 03:17:15 AM
The spread on Bitfinex is fucking retarded.

What an utter shit exchange.

I have hated this exchange since I took a small haircut back in 2016 because of their "hack." (Yeah, I'm butthurt.) I have been waiting for the day that they just roll over and die. However, it appears the people who run it are cunning mutherfuckers. They are like Michael Myers. Doesn't matter what is thrown at them; they just keep on coming. Perhaps we should enlist the help of Jamie Lee Curtis to put an end to this nightmare. However, I'm beginning to think that they will just resurrect themselves though some token bullshit.

Hey Loyce. How about a chart with all of the LiveCoin Signature campaign participants? Is that too many people?
Can you get me the userIDs? Like this:
Please use this format with only userIDs:
Code:
976210 879277 867786 820936
I'll get you 2 graphs tomorrow, 10 users per graph fits better.

Her you go.

Unfortunately, I cannot merit any more Morse code at the moment because I am out of source and smerit.
How often do you guys get refilled?

30 days from the day it was sent. I always run low at this time of the month. I have a problem pacing myself. Unfortunately, when I use up my source merit and start using smerit, those don't replenish after 30 days. I have to earn smerit like everyone else.

We? Have you gone full schitzo or have you set up some sort of committee with CH?

pluralis maiestatis

Perhaps one-above-all/CH should have a seastead built for him off the coast of Thailand. He can have it fitted with an iron throne and have a custom made diadem. Then when the Thailand Navy comes to visit, he can then proclaim, "We are not amused."
572  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trust Sytem Must Be Removed on: May 01, 2019, 09:15:03 PM
Trust system is nothing. I am here for 5 years. You can give negative trust one of a scammer hen he creates a new account and scam anyone. Easy. Trust system is just for trusted members gang

That may be true. However, people are more likely to succeed scamming by using an established account with some clout. Once such an account is tagged, that person can create all of the throw away accounts that they want, and only fools will take them seriously.
573  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trust Sytem Must Be Removed on: May 01, 2019, 09:05:33 PM
The original reason that the trust system(originally a scammer tag) went into place was because Theymos was getting requests from people to ban "scammers."
edit: who determines this?

Administrators.

It would be awesome to make the scammer mark invisible to the scammer so they keep on longer than optimal with the same account.

The idea is to give them an opportunity to defend themselves or make things right. I have removed the status a couple of times after the users paid back their victims.

I instituted this system because people were pressuring me a lot to ban scammers, which I was unwilling to do. I do not want to be the final arbiter in these matters. So I created this status to warn potential victims without preventing the scammer from defending himself.

People marked as scammers are also unable to delete/edit any of their posts or modify their profiles, and their IP addresses are banned from creating new accounts.

Since Theymos does not really want to be put in a position to investigate every scammer, we now have the trust system. Anyone can participate, as you know. Also, the current trust system is less stringent because a "scammer" can now delete/edit posts and create new accounts. Would you prefer that we just have a system where administrators ban "scammer" accounts? Or do you just want to remove the trust system and let scammers be free to find new victims?
574  Other / Meta / Re: The ignore button @ theymos... on: May 01, 2019, 06:22:40 PM
I have the same trouble as TMAN. Every time I try to ignore someone, I end up peeking, anyway. I have given up even trying to ignore people. However, if there was a feature that I could not override for a certain amount of time, that would be rather helpful. I like how PMs are set up. You can place someone on that ignore list and be oblivious to whether they tried to PM you or not.

576  Economy / Reputation / Re: Should I show sympathy or label as stupid? on: April 29, 2019, 08:36:45 PM
Just so the OP knows, I decided to remove my trust list exclusion (although I have not included you in my trust list either.) I figured you were just posting out of exasperation that someone had sufficient warning about a scammer and decided to go ahead and deal with them anyway, without even using escrow. However, I would advise not to be too harsh on victims, even if it clear that they are foolish. We want to encourage people to notify the community when they are scammed. Not only will it give opportunity for Dt members to step in and red tag the member, but everyone can benefit with the victim's story and shore up their own practices.
577  Other / Meta / Re: Tracking the Trust System's Stupid Shit on: April 29, 2019, 06:50:06 PM
Last of the V8s is not in TMAN's trust list. Kinda hard to take your lecturing seriously when you keep making shit up.

Yes, Last of the V8s happens to be one of the "stars" of the WO thread. I'm sure many of the people who have included him on their trust lists have absolutely nothing personal against Ognasty. In fact, I know of one person who has included him on the list that recently gave Ognasty a positive rating, after buying one of his coins.
578  Other / Meta / Re: [Choose 1]Trade Forum accounts, or DT neg trust for trading accounts - banned on: April 28, 2019, 04:37:09 PM
I think that a good solution would be to just not allow threads for account sales. Bitcointalk already doesn't allow sales thread for illegal items. Although account sales will still go on, offsite, the inability to advertise on this forum will hamper the marketing efforts even further. After all, the target market is people who already use this forum or wish to use this forum. (Most probably to participate in a signature campaign.)
I'm not certain that this forum should take the extra step of banning accounts suspected of being bought/sold. If it did, I would expect the level of certainty that the account is indeed bought/sold be rather high. I would hate to see an account banned erroneously.
579  Other / Meta / Re: Are users abusing the merit source application on: April 27, 2019, 12:50:53 PM
OH FFS. I really do not think the vast majority of merit source applications are made in order to grab merit. I think the applicants generally want an opportunity to be more useful to the forum. I don't think these people are engaging in any kind of "abuse" any more than a person who applies to be a volunteer for a charity. Also, to expand further, I don't think anyone is abusing the merit system if someone purposefully creates great content in order to get merit. If it's great stuff, I don't care what the underlying motive is for creating it.
580  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: MadmanAmazon is scammer on: April 27, 2019, 03:38:40 AM
The red paints itself an alarm to warn peoples not to trade. Smart peoples will ignore the sellers with red paints and dumbasses will make a deal and later will complain here.

Has it ever occurred to you that not everyone reads English with ease? As can be seen from the opening statement, the page listing the transaction is in Vietmanese. This is an international community. I think you should show the victim here a little more latitude than labeling him as stupid. I have decided to exclude you from my trust list because of your attitude. I just don't think you have what it takes to be an advocate for victims.

I think I should also tag this guy, just for complaining nonsense.

You didn't care about the warnings before you made the deal with that guy and now you came here to complain? Does it make any sense?  Angry

How about I red tag you for being a condescending asshat? How would that grab you? I won't, but your attitude sure makes it tempting.

this is all you going to get from me <<<< G.T.F.O

I have a novel idea. Why don't you G.T.F.O?
