5642  Other / Meta / Re: Since 2018, what did you contribute to prevent signature ads removed globally? on: February 03, 2020, 02:41:10 PM
You really didn't got the idea of the thread. Did you read the OP, or you just assumed that based on the subject the OP is against the signatures?
Let me tl;dr to you Smiley
He did not read my topic title, and my OP. Honestly with you, I don't think  my topic title is too difficult to understand, and my OP is clearly explain the topic title.
Quote
Theymos said that if the shitposting continues in a high rate as before the merit system, he will probably remove the signatures totally. So the OP is asking what did you do to stop shitposting and keep the signatures.
We have been luckily to see the success of merit system and the signature has still been allowed to display so far. Moreover, I see the reduce of spamming. Patrol pages are still crowded but there are effects to reduce spamming, IMO. Nowadays, threads on some boards won't be bumped by spamming (as a result of the bump score).

5645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If I want to explain to a 10 years boy.what is blockchain?How should I explain? on: February 01, 2020, 10:43:32 AM
Take it easy with my example.

You are Dad or Mom.
Your kid want to buy a candy.
You give your kid a few cents to buy it.
That kid has to go to a grocery to buy it.

The grocery can tell you (Dad or Mom) that kid buys bought how many candy.
If that grocery staff does not tel the truth to you, you don't know what the kid do with a few cent you give him/ her (buying candy or not, and how many candy was bought).

With blockchain, all of that information will be stored globally, and you (as Dad or Mom) can retrieve it easily, without the words from the grocery staff.
5646  Economy / Gambling / Re: MintDice – Bitcoin Casino With Online Slots, Bitcoin Crash & Bitcoin Investment on: February 01, 2020, 04:11:33 AM
but when it comes to casinos, you can only claim from the faucet if you don't have balance in your account. it is not that you can claim again even if you have the minimum balance to play.

on the other note, it is nice to hear that there are a lot of plans for mintdice. continuous improvement will aid in keeping the interest of players alive. they will look forward to additional features or rewards and what's in it for them as a gambler or investor.
Faucet has its role is a free money to test casinos and to get familiarized yourself with the casino platforms. How to gamble, win and lose money (faucet money). Some casinos ask for real deposits to withdraw money.

As I see, faucet plays its role to keep gamblers on casinos, and don't leave when their balance falls to zero after lost gambling orders.
5647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 01, 2020, 04:06:22 AM
Another week of Premier League and there is almost no one predicts that Manchester City will narrow the gap-points between them and Liverpool. Most of football fans or gamblers believe that Liverpool will expand the gap-points every week.

If that will actually happen, how many weeks Liverpool will win the title before the end of this season? 5 or 10 matches before the end of the season.
5648  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [GUIDE] How to Create a Strong/Secure Password on: January 31, 2020, 03:21:50 AM
DON'Ts:

- Copy & paste your private key to Google search.
- Copy & paste your wallet passphrases to Google search.
- Copy & paste your wallet's seeds to Google search.
- Copy & paste your passwords (for any accounts on any platform) to Google search.
It is applied to all the other search engines, not only Google.

If you unintentionally do it (by mis-click), let's do the following ASAP:
- Move your funds to new wallets, and discard the old wallets.
- Change your wallet passphrases to new ones.
- Move your funds to new wallets, and discards the old ones.
- Change your passwords to new ones (don't reuse any past passwords).
5649  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Blender.io - Advanced privacy for Bitcoin transactions (mixer) on: January 31, 2020, 02:14:36 AM
I have the idea to list all detected phishing sites which try to fake Blender.io in the OP. If the list will be composed, it should be allocated with a new section, and easily recognized reminder for readers.

I understand that OP already states official sites and must-thing to check address bar but the list will help as another step to remind blender.io customers.

How about this idea, blender.io team?
5650  Other / Meta / Re: List of Bitcointalk.org Userscripts/ Add-ons on: January 31, 2020, 02:09:35 AM
You should probably remove https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5038684.0 since it's no longer available. Has been discontinued as BPIP is creating a 2nd version of the extension.
Thank you so much. I reconstructured OP and updated it with the new section for dead projects.
5651  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Discord & scammers. Check user IDs and user colors of strangers send you PMs on: January 31, 2020, 01:08:01 AM
or If you don't wanna bother with the spams/scams, better disable DMs from server members through privacy settings (READ: Blocking & Privacy Settings) **it doesn't apply to your friends

Most DMs from strangers are trashy anyway. and If someone who is not your friend needs to slide into your DMs they'd ping you especially if it's important. That's what ppl do in my case.
The link is great.

Most but not all, and sometimes always close the gate causes to losing opportunity to make friends with really good people. I agree with you that strangers and their DMs should be cautiously considered but carefully open the gate of discussions to the others is not too bad. Just be careful and aware of risks from strangers. Not only on Discord but also on the forum. The forum has an option to restrict PM from newbies but I let it opens because the aforementioned reasons.
5652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 30, 2020, 04:33:42 AM
Liverpool, this season, will not miss their first champion title after decades. From what the team has played till now, they outperformed the others so they will mostly end this season as champions but I doubt that they will finish the season as unbeatable winner or not. There are odds for them to do that but the season lasts long and there are many things to affect the final ending for Liverpool, referee's decisions, and luckiness as well.

Liverpool plays well as nearly same as Arsenal years ago, and yes it is very very impressive.
5653  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Host-file to deal with phishing sites on: January 30, 2020, 02:50:02 AM
Code:
0.0.0.0 smatmixer.io
That one is the latest phishing site that tries to fake the smartmixer.io. Be careful and stay safe.

Do you notice the dissapearance of 'r' character, smatmixer.io (phishing site) and the official (smartmixer.io)?
5654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Discord & scammers. Check user IDs and user colors of strangers send you PMs on: January 30, 2020, 01:15:14 AM
There are two methods to report scammers on Discord:

- Reporting them to admins/ moderators of each Discord groups.
- Reporting them to Discord server.

For both methods, the must step is activate your developer mode (in OP).
The follow the guide there: https://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/how-to-report-someone-discord/

Doing this is personal choice, but I often report scammers to admins or moderators of Discord groups I joined.

A reminder when you report:
- Report their unique IDs /multi-digit ID numbers (after activating your developer mode), not their usernames.
- Report their message IDs.
5655  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion to make rank-up more difficult on: January 29, 2020, 11:59:39 PM
These current requirements are tough enough and they take ages for people to contribute, then will be recognized by the others, and consequently will get promoted after months or ages.

That is for good users, in contrast for bad ones, current requirements are truly barriers to stop them ranking up. If they can not get promoted with current requirements, they will definitely not be able to rank up with stricter ones.

For good users, why do we have to stop them to rank up? If there are stricter requirements on them, will they damage the original purposes of the merit system?
5656  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A case against using Avast on: January 29, 2020, 03:41:29 AM
Using free antivirus softwares has somewhat risks for users. People have to deeply consider about the balance between risks and beneficiaries by using free-antivirus softwares. I understand that in some locations of the world, people don't have too much money, so owning a personal computer is a challenge, then spending money for AV-softwares is much more challenging and somewhat out-of-control.

Anyway, if people have enough money to invest in crypto, they have to think of spending money for good security tool, including the reputable and paid-AV softwares. They will get lot of beneficiaries back in the long run.

Bitcoiners  turned out to be snipers. Grin

70% of Bitcoin spends use highest precision of 1 Sat
It is more informative if we can retrieve details on the proportion among the rest 30% of higher fees (above 1 satoshi/byte transactions). How many (in proportion) of them come from non-custodial wallets.
5658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 28, 2020, 01:14:43 AM
Yeah right, It would seemed that Arsenal young lads provides better results that the old ones  Smiley

Arsenal does have a better chances/route as they are to play Portsmouth next, and If they win they will face Norwich or Tottenham/Southampton, except their inconsistency gets the better of them, they won't face the toughest teams until the Semi finals.
Arsenal usually get wins when no one expects on them but when the expectation on them is high, they often make their fans dissapointed. Arsenal, over the recent years, have never mainitained their performance in official matches sustainably. They win and lose in between their matches. They've often fallen further behind the other competitors in race to Premier League's trophy past seasons.

The last 2 seasons, they struggled to get a spot in top 4 of the league.
5659  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie, BTT Rating. on: January 28, 2020, 01:06:51 AM
The old ranking system requires activities to rank up for each rank, and what you had to do is making enough posts (that consequently results in enough activities to rank up), but with the merit system, merits are become the more important thing and the main barriers to pass through before ranking up.
Now, you must pass through both activities (that is easy) and merit requirements.

Activities and post-numbers required are there:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Rough summary of what this means: If you post once per day on average, then you will eventually get the maximum number of activity points that you can get. Posting more than once per day on average is useless for increasing activity. The maximum number of activity points you can get is 1 per day, but your activity score only updates every two weeks. Therefore, it will take about 100 days to get 100 activity if you post once per day on average.

Activity is updated every hour.

The new membergroup limits work like this: (Edit: Obsolete, do not use)
GroupRequirement
Brand New0 posts
Newbie(none)
Jr. Memberactivity: 30
Memberactivity: 60
Full Memberactivity: 120
Sr. Memberactivity: 240
Hero Memberactivity: 480
Legendaryoccurs randomly between 775 and 1030 activity

I'm not 100% sure that the membergroups work correctly. Tell me if you see any bugs.
The merit requirements posted above by the others.
5660  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Posting on BitcoinTalk: how do I know when my post is "too long"? on: January 27, 2020, 10:37:17 AM
The issue does not mainly come from English proficiency. If a poster has bad posting style, that user will make too long, and distracting posts with mother tongue too.

Posts are made up of some root things: Main ideas (most important), then supporting ideas (less important, and only to support main ideas to clarify its with explanations, details, examples, figures, and so forth).

To start off, if a poster does not have a good idea to begin with, his or her post will always nonsense, and less or zero value.

Let's assume that a poster has good idea to start, his or her post will be lengthy enough if that user does not include distractions to his posts. Whenever distractions occur, posts will become too lengthy.
