581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: October 14, 2023, 07:34:45 PM

You have to consider you get what you paid for.
If you are an addict and you hope to find ways to get out of your condition, you would best pay a premium where you will be pampered inside a facility rather than going back to gambling all because you didn't like the therapy. You wouldn't want to think of gambling when you are comfortably satisfied sitting in a jacuzzi and puffing a Cuban cigar.

The most effective low cost I think is to just join a gambling addiction group meeting and make new gambler friends. Who knows what could happen?  Grin

This is a head shaking decision from uncle Dana after he promised that the winner of Belal vs. Burns would challenge Leon Edward. However, I speculate that American politics might have influenced this decision. Uncle Dana is an outspoken Trump supporter and Colby also is another ourspoken Trump supporter. The presidential election will be on November heheehe. Perfect for the UFC's campaign for Trump if Colby is the welterweight champion hehehehe.

Did he really promise that? Say what you want about White, but I think he has a good record of sticking to his word.
I don't think similar political sympathies would play a major factor here. Covington is ranked higher than Belal and has way higher PPV potential so it definitely makes more sense, and I'm sure Edwards wouldn't mind that either, as it means a bigger payout.
Plus, they're fighting in Dec 2023 and the next US election is indeed in Nov, but 2024  Grin

It was said Conor waited 6 months for USADA's go signal but no result. So Dana went ahead to decided to cut ties with USADA since it's making his business unprofitable. He'd been eager to put Conor in the cage for a while. Now he wants to pay a private entity to do the Athlete testing. Cancel culture is very common among Trump supporters these days, maybe it's true. Conor though is not yet scheduled to fight, but he does want this Dec.

Volk is now the highest-paid fighter in UFC after his short notice against Islam. It must be encouraging now to just say Yes if you are one of the backup fighters.
583  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Logan Paul Vs Dillon Dannis and KSI vs Tommy Fury Today! Oct 14th on: October 14, 2023, 05:17:48 PM
Not watching these kinds of fights anymore. Though I would watch it on replay if Paul loses in a brutal KO. I saw some YouTube updates about them just a few days ago and Dillon seems to be nailing Paul. Between the two, I think Dillon might win.

After following several fights between the Paul brothers and some other YouTubers, its sickening. Yep they could market a fight that's their best skill.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ferrari introduced BTC payment option for their cars on: October 14, 2023, 04:38:34 PM

Since they are likely going to accept Shitcoin, that would be better than sending your BTC to them. If I were to buy one, I would probably do it in the bull run peak that even the shitcoin will have a big value enough to buy one.

So far it's only Ferrari announcing something like this, no other car producer yet. It's Ferrari sees there will be more BTC millionaires soon and they are likely buyers in the future. Cars like Ferraris are meant to be showcased only on some occasions.
585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How often is your luck in gambling? on: October 14, 2023, 04:07:52 PM
I have never been a person who has won big sums of money and I have never taken such a risk in my life. Because I saw it as unnecessary and frankly I did not see it as a risk that could be taken. I once made a coupon with the highest odds I have ever hit with a coupon and I will never forget the odds of that coupon. It was for about 3 dollars and I honestly didn't have much hope. I gave it a shot and I got 2300 dollars and that was the pinnacle of my gambling career. After that, even though I took a break, I still play for pleasure from time to time.

You get 2300 for betting $3 is a super lucky bet. You get lucky even if you don't often bet so you can really expect it won't happen in every 10 years. If you win again like going to a nearby shop and finding scratch tickets beside the cashier, you try for once and you still win big. There really is a big chance you have a fairy godmother following you all the time.

My experience could be called luck but not a huge win. I think I got $130 for betting $10. This is the biggest by far, it did happen again but smaller win and this is in sports betting. I think maybe 2 or 3 times a year.
586  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: October 14, 2023, 03:50:03 PM
I only know local horse though, and I would say that I was brought up by my father as this is one of the favorite sports he loves to bet when he was still alive and I still remember when I was a little boy him winning what we call Winner Take All (WTA).

I become addicted as well, like the in the early 2000 to like 2010.

However, when our government started to crack down illegal horse betting, then me and my friends started to slow down and suddenly we just stop. So I haven't bet for a while while although I will still some in my facebook friends on how it is going. Specially around Christmas time, there are a lot of special races to bet.

But I'm not sure if others as well are into horse racing here, and I could speculate that maybe a few might want to bet on it.

Not much. Today we can only see horse racing on TV. This is the age of cars already, not many horses but this seems to be a rich man's vice. Today only the rich men do have eyes for which horse might win or not. There was never a horse in my town. I couldn't remember if there ever was a local racehorse event in our city.

There is a ranch nearby but their horses are just staying inside their ranch and it's used to chase the cattle. What every city has today are illegal drag race.
587  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 14, 2023, 02:58:27 PM
I do not really have a problem gambling from work because I have everything well planned out. It does not interfere with my job in any way whatsoever... I spend less than 30 minutes predicting and placing my bets. Although this is possible because of the nature of my job that requires I am on my computer with internet access always.

Gambling to me is just a sides hustle to compliment what I do. I don't plan with gambling money neither am I desperate to win. So to me it is fine gambling from work.
But you have to remember that even though you can plan it well, you can experience changes to your plan because we are only humans who can experience mood changes. It can cause us to deviate from the plans we have made. But hopefully, you will stick to your plan so that you don't experience any problems if you continue to gamble while you work. And I hope that when gambling, you only use the money you can afford and still control yourself because you are gambling at work, where someone may find out.

If the work doesn't need the supervision of his boss, that's fine. Even if he is playing Dota in his cubicle, it will just be fine as long he can submit results in time. But maybe to some bosses it will be a problem especially if the rest of the employees also play more. This is using the company's resources for your benefit.

But whatever is prohibited is always the most desirable. So even if the bosses doesn't want employees to play/gamble while working I'm sure we do it whenever there is a chance as long as we can use our phones.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: October 13, 2023, 05:13:56 PM

This fight is to prove that he has a chance to fight Naoya Inoue judging that Yukinori Oguni did a great thing inside the ring we can not say for sure that Yukinori Oguni is still slow a fighter and for me, I didn't see the real John Riel Casimero inside the ring because the pace of his opponent was slow Casimero's movement was also slowed  I really don't know what happen but I really didn't see the old Casimero for sure he underestimated his opponent,

Though Casimero did land several blows to Oguni, it wasn't enough. Oguni just absorbed those punches and then Casimero spent all his might in the 1st round which I do believe he gassed out which seems to be obvious in the 2nd round. Somehow he hugged Oguni countless times.

It can't be enough to defeat Inoue. If it were Inoue he was fighting today, he would be knocked out.
With the result of this fight, Casimero's chance to fight Inoue is not possible anymore. He was once a champ but he is now in decline.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 13, 2023, 04:52:33 PM
This week is full of UFC shocking news. Now, from 2024, UFC and USADA are not going to cooperate anymore. Strange that not UFC made this announcement, but it came from USADA first, as they decided to stop cooperstion.  Dana said that is like backstabbing to do such thing. Now UFC got few months to find someone who will replace USADA, or I dont know, pause events, let fighters fight unchecked for some time.

Strange things are happening in UFC. Dana seems desperate to want Conor to rejoin again and cut USDA probably for this purpose. The matchmaker Joe Reeves Dana newly hired for the contender series must be the one who is also responsible for the messup of scheduled fights. We end up having Topuria vs Holloway giving Max a title shot again and then there is Usman vs Chimaev at 185lb, Chimaev isn't even a regular MW.
590  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: October 13, 2023, 04:31:12 PM
I find it hard to see how you are gambling while at work, unless you work online and you are also gambling online to which you are using your phone or your office computer. Your boss will even kick you out of playing solitaire in your office all the more when you are playing on casinos.

You really mixed it all up when you are doing these together. It should be funny to see yourself playing poker while your boss suddenly arrives and checks your monitor. Seem like a scene from a comedy movie.
591  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you play while listening music? on: October 13, 2023, 03:48:22 PM
Which is more entertaining? playing games listening to music or without music just sound of the games like roulette ball bouncing on the metal wheel or playing games in silence?
While listening to music its hard to control our emotions while losing and we are not able to concentrate on game. it is highly likely that we blow our account by betting high.
but it is more entertaining while listening to music on low volume and playing games.

Music could serve as a motivation or a distraction depending on my mood during or after gambling. Soft or slow music like blues or rhythm and blues will be preferred while playing because it aids concentration. In some cases, I wouldn't want any noise or sound maybe because I am a bit anxious and need to be more focused. But we can play louder songs like Afrobeat or hardcore rap songs when the game is favorable or I won the bet. Countryside music will be better if the game turns unfavorable. This genre of music gives me hope and motivates me to do better another time. But there are times when it will be better to go straight to bed after a loss.

But could you say the music helps you win more?
Each person has preferences though, one man may like a piece of background music while the other just wants silence.

As OP had described it, he couldn't concentrate on the game while the music was on. I feel the same especially when you concentrate more on the music, instead of adding another noise. I'm more into listen to news while playing. I keep my youtube turn on for the news channel that I have subscribed.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Casimero vs Oguni - October 12 on: October 13, 2023, 03:29:12 PM

I saw lots of haymaker punches from Casimero like he was trying to get a lucky punch that would end the fight, that's not how boxing works, he also lacks the basics. I think he is too impatient about winning and climbing the ranks to get his shot against Inoue but he doesn't notice that by doing this he is just making the gap longer.
After watching him against the Japanese Oguni I didn't see good boxing and I bet many Filipino boxing fans would feel the same. He is forcing a knockout but he ain't that young Casimero anymore. He should think about taking it slow and using his experience as his main weapon instead of fighting like a 25 year old boxer with lots of stamina reserved, he ain't that guy anymore.
In round 2, I saw him resting and breathing heavily from his mouth, which is why I have round 2 to Oguni because he took advantage of that and let his punches fly all over Casimero.

That's because Casimero is too excited to knock out Oguni in the fastest possible way underestimating Oguni's stamina and power but unfortunately, it backfires he is the one losing steam and getting hit a lot, and he may hit Oguni with his own punches but he is able to stand those punches.

While watching the fight I was wondering where Casimero's power went, those were the punches that hurt and knockout all his past opponents now it seems he cannot carry his power in the upper weight division if he cannot carry his power then he is just an ordinary fighter and Fulton can easily knock him out before he can go to Inoue.

I think he gassed out already in the 2nd round but he tried to steal the 2nd round before the ringbell. It's in the 3rd that I see more haymakers. If one of those landed right, it could make him win.

It's a wonder why it was a draw though. Obviously, Casimero landed more shots while Oguni did more at the back of Casimero's head. This is the advantage of having the fight in your home country, the favor will always be with their dog. Its a rob.
593  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Don't Stand With Either Palestine Or Israel on: October 12, 2023, 08:31:42 PM
If they read your post they'd laugh at you.

Imagine that someone enters your home and starts stealing from you. You ask them to leave, they don't do it. You hit them, they hit back.
Your neighbor sees you fighting and starts preaching to you both "you should love each other brothers, there should be no fighting." Would you both stop? I doubt it.

Ukrainians lost families and friends to Russians. They won't start loving Russian all of a sudden.
Palestinians lived every day knowing that Israelis have superior military power and will one day kill them all. They won't stop until there's no Gaza. It may take another decade or another century but the goal for Israel is to exterminate Hamas and make Gaza a part of their country.

I quite understand you. In as much as I wouldn't want to take side, I think what we need to actually bring solution to this menace is justice. If the United Nations can be neutral in solving the lingering issues surrounding this continuous conflicts, I believe justice will be served and each side will maintain their lane.

UN is a sham.
It's quite shocking to see Israel didn't bother to ask for the return of the kidnapped people but they just dropped huge bombs on Palestine. Sure their missiles also killed the non-Hamas men. Normally, a negotiator will first respond but they went ahead launching missiles. It sends a message that this is an eye for an eye which makes the whole world blind.  Grin

But this war didnot start last Saturday morning when Hamas attacked, this war started a long time ago with a conflict. Just like the conflict between Iran and Saudi that started a thousand years ago but just recently made a peace deal.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: October 12, 2023, 07:14:57 PM
Either cross addiction or a gambling addict, I don't see any difference between the both, because I know quite well that when you are addicted with gambling, you are addicted, Either being cross addiction or not you are addicted with gambling, since both is pointing at being over interested in gambling, so basically  theirs so certain things we have to know in gambling addiction, because when you are addicted in gambling its base on you have more less job and chance, but when you being occupied you can't engage in gambling betting everyday, so when you are frustrated in financial aspects it can make you to be gambling addictive also.

Cross addictions is simply diverting the attention of the gambling addict to somewhere else. I think this is very effective actually to make sure the patient is not going to hurt himself.  If he is taken over by the new addiction, he will forget gambling. The awareness of a person can always be taken over by distraction after distraction and PS4 or Wii can be more satisfying than the patient playing slot. I say cross-addiction isn't so bad for a solution.
595  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cross addictions is Just as Bad. on: October 12, 2023, 06:25:10 PM
Well, at least he can move on from gambling to video game.

It's not easy as is look like but better cross addiction rather than gambling. It's a small money comparing to gambling while you can get a debt and more money to be deposit into the site.

I still call these a win.

My thoughts so.

Eventually, the Slot addict will forget about his slot addiction and then will also be dealing with that PS4 addiction. It's unsure yet what else could grab the attention of that person but surely he can outgrow that PS4. Most likely the computer base games too or the Metaverse games. this is a bit better than PS4, just prevent him from discovering casinos in the metaverse or he'd slide back into the slot.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 12, 2023, 06:08:45 AM
What a shame. It looks like Volk will just spend the 11 days making the weight rather than training to win. There is no time to set up a proper training camp for Volk. They had a very close fight before but I expect the betting odds to make Makachev a heavy favorite due to the late-notice situation.

And there's also Costa just had elbow surgery. That needs weeks of rest to fully heal. Robert Whitaker's name was mentioned as the substitute but Costa continued to insist that he will still fight Chimaev.

It seems like excuses are being ready once Volk and Costa lose their fights.

Its said that Usman who will fight against Chimaev. And whoever wins will hve a title shot against Leon. Its gonna be an action pack match, Usman to land a big shot to Khamzat, he will also be over.  But definitely fans will be expecting Chimaev to rugdoll Usman.

Costa seem making excuses only according to some articles. Chimaev and Costa been trashing for awhile, fans are hyped and then Costa just got injured while the date gets closer. Too convenient.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you ever feel tired of waiting? on: October 12, 2023, 05:58:51 AM
Its why you need to participate in betting on casinos to pass time. Because the longer we wait for another bull market, the frustration also bubbles as funds drain

Gotta get your world spicy while waiting so you on't be tempted to sell your stash and run. Too late for that, the waitmis almost over. Relax, watch news on crypto, economies around the world and the wars thats happenning.
598  Economy / Economics / Re: Energy Crisis 2.0 in the New World Order era on: October 12, 2023, 04:00:14 AM
the tension between Russia and Ukraine will not only reduce the supply of oil exports but also the coal they have.
I totally forgot about coal.

Maybe it's not just oil and coal (energy) that they will try to monopolize, BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) if we look in detail, some of its members have large superior resources that are capable of supporting themselves and even the country. others in particular were able to export the results of their resources to Europe. We can check the data here.
Food Outlook – Biannual report on global food markets - Fao.org https://www.fao.org/3/cc3020en/cc3020en.pdf

Let's look at food production data, especially China, India and Brazil always occupy the top positions in each sector. Maybe what we feel now is energy, but the food sector is also too important for us to miss.

Current world conditions are still heating up, tensions in Ukraine vs Russia continue to flare. Plus Palestine vs Israel. Here we know that Israel is one with America. If the Islamic countries are fed up and unite to help Palestine, we know the direction while BRICS is still able to recruit potential members who have large resources. This is just the beginning of the trade war.

Hezbollah said to have joined already and reports earlier was that Syria was already firing Israel. Seems like all hell breaks lose. Eventually, there will be more joining and the energy market is going to skyrocket soon.

Once richest country in EU, Germany is already collapsing without stable energy source. France might also crumble as less Uranium will be exported to them, it will not be enough to power the whole country. Crazy crazy times.

599  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: PayPal Just Announced Plans to Launch a USD Stablecoin - Thoughts? on: October 12, 2023, 02:40:45 AM
Everything will be tokenized soon and Paypal is just one of them since JP Morgan and Blackrock is tokenizing everything base on the articles coming out about their plans. One of it is tokenizing the money we have in our banks.

We are glimpsing the future of what will happen because even the stock market assets will be tokenized ehich I guess they can be sent as currency as well.
600  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambler avoiding friends after a big win. on: October 12, 2023, 02:23:23 AM
At one of the local gambling shop I visited during the weekend I happened to listen to a conversation between two bald looking gamblers at the shop talking about one of their gambling colleague who had won a big amount of money amounting to a million in the local currency and due to that win this colleague of theirs' has been avoiding them since e won that money. From their conversation it was obvious that they were a circle of close three friends that gamble together.

After all I finished with my bet headed home and was asking myself what could the colleague act that way avoiding his close friends they all gambling together and just because luck shines on him first he decides to create a distance and class. I couldn't actually annex a good reason why anyone should do that.

Yes, it is possible that the person who has won the bet is trying to avoid his close friends because they are afraid they will borrow the money or ask for the same amount of their winnings. In my opinion, the attitude that this person has is very unethical because he has negative feelings towards his friend just because of a close friend's money so he is shunned.
although gambling is actually personal luck, but as good friends we should always be there for each other in good times and bad because At least believe that a close friend will not leave us even when we are in the worst condition

Yep its possible and he isn't open to doing it because he knows his friends are really going to borrow and because he is the the guy who can't say NO, he'd rather avoid.

If I were one of those friends he ignored now I guess all I can do is just let it pass. It is unknown how he feels base on the story by OP, who knows the guy becomes paranoid after having such amount.
