581  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 17, 2023, 01:54:50 PM
Hopefully, nobody bet on that juicy Shakira Tweeterson by KO/TKO. Cheesy

I know there are people here who bet on the KO win since the odds was around x3.30 which was very tempting, but it turns out it was a trap since the real value was the Shakur to win via decision and the trend still continues.

As per boxrec (https://boxrec.com/en/box-pro/790719)... most of his wins are via UD, so you can tell he really is a dominant boxer, one can't beat him if he can't knock him down, but what can they do, he's very slick and does not engage carelessly.
582  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: November 17, 2023, 01:40:58 PM

Could you please share some of your honest experiences here and how you became a disciplined gambler, particularly in managing your bankroll? What factors do you consider to be satisfied and to stick with the game plan all the time?

The first step to manage a bankroll is to always remind yourself that betting doesn't have a winning guarantee and so you will have that at the back of your mind before betting and what this does is to make you bet reasonably and not to go beyond your budget. Budgeting and emotion go together, a good budget and a bad emotion means something is wrong but a good budget and a good emotion means something is right because there will always be control on the impulse to play irrationally. So chasing loses is not a good management skill.

Chasing both winnings and losses is always a bad idea as it usually doesn't end in our favor. If we're not content with our winnings and keep betting significant amounts in the pursuit of more wins, it's likely not going to end well. What we really need is a bankroll that allows for both pressure and excitement, turning it into a serious and long-term endeavor. Starting with a small bankroll and aiming for a huge target, while it might succeed, the chances of success are minimal, close to 1%.
583  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you overcome the hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie? on: November 17, 2023, 12:26:24 PM
Entering the world of Bitcoin trading can be both exciting and daunting, especially for newcomers. The volatile nature of cryptocurrency markets and the plethora of information available can sometimes overwhelm new traders.

Todays question i would share how we overcame these hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie?.
The things that give you confidence are to have a high level of trading knowledge, strategies, and faith. But is this possible for newbies who have no experience? The answer is NO because experience is a way to make you more knowledgeable and that makes you familiar with the market. That is why we can't say that trading one day make you better by tomorrow but the truth is that it takes several months to build such confidence and we already suffer many losses before it comes.
584  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging Newbies from Bitcoin... on: November 16, 2023, 09:59:29 PM

But if you are smart you learn from the mistake of another person rather than fall thesame victim before you learn. What ever dey tell you is for your own good. But if you choose trading it's fine but don't forget that holding for long is the best option.
That is the best thing to do but some people have thought that what happened to early investors and those who fall into scams will also happen to them making them stay away and afraid of taking the risk.
Well, the lack of education makes their mind closed to see the real potential of Bitcoin, and teaching them is a big challenge.
But on the other side of saying that Bitcoin is risky, it doesn't mean that we discourage newbies but instead, it serves them a warning in order for them not to underestimate crypto, and at least, they are aware of what they gonna do.
585  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Stevenson vs De Los Santos - Nov 16 on: November 16, 2023, 01:06:20 PM
So is anyone taking these betting odds? I might take a bet on a Tweeterson by KO/TKO. Honestly, I am starting to get annoyed with his trash-talking as if he is a KO artist.

But still, I am very doubtful of De Los Santos since this is his first title fight and this is also his first 12-rounder fight IIRC. And with the level of opponent, he is facing he can get tired if he can't connect. Unless he is training to survive rather than take his chances of winning this fight. If De Los Santos backpedals and tries to counter Shakur, he might survive but he will definitely lose by a wide decision or even a shutout.

I did not expect this fight to happen on a weekday since championship fights happen during weekends except in Japan where they have their own ways.

De los Santos is a KO artist, not used to fighting a 12-round fight, so we might see him tired and frustrated at the same time. That's where Shakur could take advantage, and since he also has some KO wins in the past, it's possible that it will happen again. Well, just a few hours of sleep, and we will finally find out who will win here and how the winner would win, so missing the chance to bet is a big sin.

By the way, have you noticed that "SMART Live streaming" is so delayed? Good thing we have some alternatives from other streams (though illegal).

You can't rely on their streams, especially if you are betting live, as you won't get the right timing of the bet since their live streaming is a delayed telecast. It's better to watch on your local channel or, as you've mentioned, watch on illegal streams as they get their feed from the local channel.
587  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Avoid trading crypto in real person. You can see this now on Binance. on: November 15, 2023, 09:46:47 PM
I usually use P2P trading in Binance and I have never encountered being asked for KYC and Maybe this is possible because I'd look into those buyers that have a high positive response from their previous performance and offer a fair price.

But talking about physical trade, for me, It was not a safe choice for anyone knowing that there were a lot of people who were too hungry for money, we're putting ourselves at risk as well. The best option is to use the platform for at least there is accountability for it once the transaction fails.
588  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: November 15, 2023, 03:42:51 PM
I think lots of gamblers can relate to your experience, OP. You are not the only one who is good at breaking your game plan. Sometimes, when emotions take over, they can ruin everything we carefully plan. Personally, I'm not very disciplined, but I'm good at giving advice, so the phrase ' it's easier said than done' really hits me big time in gambling.

The question is how to...?

The only answer to that is to learn how to control your emotions. You shouldn't allow them to dictate more than your mind; otherwise, you can't beat the casino at that.
589  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 15, 2023, 02:58:49 PM
What a game! I didn't expect that NLEX would be able to come back in the second half and win the game in OT.

Romeo was hot in the first half, but in the second half, he was pretty limited, although he scored some go-ahead baskets when needed with only seconds left. However, Rosales ruined his night with his cold-blooded 3-point shot that brought the game into overtime.

JMF was able to survive the game despite already having five fouls with minutes left in the fourth quarter. Unfortunately, SMB was not able to capitalize on their attack in the OT, despite the NLEX import being already tired. It was a very entertaining game overall, but if you bet on SMB, that would be a heartbreak.

Imagine, they were up as high as 19 points in this game and still lost, not only that, they got tired more as they played extra minutes. Not a good debut for them after a long rest.
590  Economy / Speculation / Re: This bullish momentum - Breaking through the $35,000 mark on: November 15, 2023, 12:34:54 PM
The current pump is quite satisfying to see compared to the previous months where it was just stuck below $30k but it was not yet convincing enough to say and think that we are in a bullish state already. Maybe my set of price targets to say that the market is bullish when it reaches $50k but also because it was normally we saw bullish after halving. Maybe I was wrong but we won't be confident enough that there is no dump happen in the coming as surely it comes. However, it was not like in the previous correction that it fell badly.
591  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop Trading on: November 14, 2023, 09:58:17 PM
I think this is some of the best advice that someone has given me. The major reason most people are willing to invest in or take risks in the crypto market is because they have financial pressure. The financial problems make them blind and definitely lead them to make stupid decisions. Especially because they are urged to take a step without even being aware of the real situations happening around them. People in that position are willing to take any risk to get rid of their problems, but that risk has cost them a lot.And the series of successes is the energy or fuel they get to go on. We can't say to give up after success, but be more cautious about your next move.
I don't think like that. Those who are financially stressed will be distracted from planning investments. it won't go well.
Those who plan investments are of course those who have financial strength. so if the investment does not go according to plan it will not affect the finances.
Investing is not gambling. In fact, I have seen incidents like this happen to many frustrated gamblers who want to double their money instantly.
Investing and trading are not gambling but it went to that situation if that person has no knowledge about it. Many people underestimate the market volatility, they'll though that knowing the basics is trading is just okay but that is not how trading works because if this is only what is in our mind, we'd better stop doing this as it results in losses. We can't force ourselves to become a trader unless we have the courage and willingness to change our wrong mindset and market approach.
592  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: November 14, 2023, 12:36:55 PM
They need to use whoever is available to support RHJ, with Oftana and Castro plus the big men who can help they still have that competitve squad who can actually win a game, TNT is TNT we know how they play together and they are not doing anything to reason out with how they play the game, they will play whoever their opponents and they show up the way they always use to, no further reasoning but to maximize and try to win each games that they will compete.

Though same with your argument, they don't have that much scorers compared with SMB and Ginebra but with pride for being the last season champ, I think it will help them to try harder.

As long as they maintain a healthy import, TNT will stay competitive. However, it's undeniable that their championship odds are diminished due to the absence of two key players. While Castro is undoubtedly skilled, we can't rely on him to carry the team consistently. Additionally, RHJ hasn't fully proven himself this conference, and personally, I'm not satisfied with his production in his debut.

That's the most important thing they have to maintain, although they can get a replacement import if that will happen but RHJ is a different breed, I mean he already proven himself many times not only in the PBA but also during the FIBA WC and Asian Cup where his team play against Gilas Pilipinas. As of now, it's too early to conclude who the best import is, and I'm sure RJH will try to catch up with the statistics to have a good chance in winning the best import award.
593  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: November 14, 2023, 11:59:02 AM
Another game also is the Warriors vs Timberwolves, it will be a rematch and if the Warriors will lose again, it will be their 3 losing streak at home.

As much as I'm a devoted Warriors fan, I have to face the reality of their recent struggles. Two significant losses, first to the Cavaliers and then the Timberwolves, make it questionable to support them again. For this game, I'll likely watch without placing a bet. Alternatively, I might consider the over 220.5, hoping the Warriors will rediscover their rhythm.
594  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: November 11, 2023, 03:29:04 PM
Your number one can be followed easily by most people or workers because usually their phones are being left on their locker before they start and there are supervisors or managers around that inspect their performance.

If you are designated in the office and you have a computer or laptop with you, the same thing happens. Then the machine that you are using might be restricted to open sites that are not related to your job. Your number two in your list is the ones that is hard to avoid. Especially now that online lending/loaning apps are born. Borrowing money has never been this easy. Despite of it, I'm thankful that I don't avail them.
Only the said restrictions help us to relax from gambling in just a few hours, I'd supposed to keep on working 24 hours every day so I can avoid gambling. But that is impossible, so we still have time to fall into addiction.

However, gambling is not really a bad thing, not the thing we have to avoid but it is our practices and gambling approach. Why? We did it wrongly and many gambler find their way even when they are at work and commit loans even if the salary is small. It is sad to say that some gamblers prefer to compromise their finances and sacrifice their needs rather than lose their chance to gamble.
595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoins that are good for long hodling in this season. on: November 11, 2023, 02:55:05 PM
ETH and BNB are two of the largest names in the altcoin market but I don't think BNB is equally safe with ETH. ETH is much better and safer than BNB. BNB is like FTX in one way or another because it is highly dependent on its platform. It is Binance's native coin. Although it has since grown widely, it still cannot detach itself completely from Binance the exchange. Whatever happens to that exchange, the price of BNB will definitely be affected. Binance is facing investigations and legal cases. If the exchange crushed, BNB will immediately follow.

You have drawn up interesting comparison between Etherem and BNB coins. I agree with your perspective that Ethereum as a prominent and leading block chain is much safer and stands our for its potential of substantial growth in future. Its price dynamics are primarily driven by its inherent strength specially its robust use case. On the other hand, BNB's is heavily dependent on the support from Binance exchange.
Ethereum is too far to compare with other altcoins, not just because of its long existence in the market but also because of its popularity and use case. Yes, BNB seems to be dependent on Binance exchange but it was not just a factor why people can't ignore this project and see its potential, BNB community support is big enough to influence the market and make this project rally. We can't deny that these two leading coins are gaining more investors because they are confident enough that they won't disappoint them and the promising look that these projects have carried drives people to invest more.
596  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: November 11, 2023, 02:04:26 PM
While gambling some people gamble with small amounts which is not very important for them, but for those who are new to gambling and not able to control themselves or play with something reasonable amount.
So I have a tip for them you can stick a real paper money note in front of your monitor which will remind you that money is hard to earn and play responsibly or don't play with big amounts.
the note will remind every time that how you earned that money, and if you are controlled and this tip is not very important for you them you can ignore it, but i found this helpful.
I didn't try it but I really don't think that it will work in real life. We can be responsible gamblers if we want to without any notes or reminders. Unfortunately, people don't realize their wrongdoing earlier but it will just come late when they already fall into addiction.

The only thing that I see to become a responsible gambler is to understand clearly how this works. In this way, we are able to avoid those things that will bring us to addiction and chase losses. Becoming a responsible gambler is a big challenge for us knowing that we (humans) easily got into losing control of our emotions when our adrenaline kicks in.
597  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 11, 2023, 01:20:24 PM

Even though there are investors who bought bitcoin at around 60k, 50k, and 40k until it dropped by 20k and are still holding it, I think these holders will still be able to recover as long as they don't sell at a discount.

Because when there is a bull run again, they will surely recover the original amount they bought for it, because it is still possible for them to make a profit when the bull run comes. That's the beauty when you only really hold Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies.
A real investor will choose to hold and remain calm rather than sell their Bitcoin at a discounted price because what is in their mind is that the price will not stay low but it rises again. Trust and confidence give them the courage to not give up easily and lose hope because they are very certain that Bitcoin will recover.

Of course, holding for many years is somewhat a waste of time we think about it but this is how the crypto market works, sometimes(if not most of the time) we have to hold in order to earn more profit. May not be the best option but we must rather than suffer losses.
598  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 11, 2023, 01:07:29 PM
Also , how did NBA allowed this in first place ? Sure , it looks nice if you're the player but for a TV viewer it's simply awful to watch.  Huh
It's all just about the in-season tournament and they've made that change because they think that there's a need to do so. But honestly, there's really no need for any change.

I'm certain we're not the only ones who didn't like it. When watching the game, it felt like an animated game....LOL. It's not really pleasing to the eyes of the viewers. However, as reported, this setup is until December 9, so that's almost a month of enduring the game. If we can't stand watching the game live because of that reason, then I guess we just have to check the scorecards.
599  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: For Newbies Interested in Gambling on: November 11, 2023, 07:09:44 AM
Being patient and consistently involved in healthy gambling habits will surely make you a successful gambler. If you are newbie who is interested in gambling and has been following the gambling community here or any where online or offline, your purpose should be to learn as much as possible from the shared experiences of others such that you can eventually branch out independently, allowing you to operate without dependence on others.
Some newbies in their bid to earn quick money flaunt some gambling rules by engaging in some unhealthy gambling habits such as betting with more than 50% of their funded account, insisted on continue to gamble despite incurring some heavy losses, of course there are many discussions and topics on this issues, most importantly gambling with the amount of money a gambler can afford to lose, also gambling should be played for fun thus serves as alternative source of income, Money management should be adopted when gambling to avoid getting addicted, Moreso for soccer betting aiming for small odds or accumulation would guarantee consistent winning if a proper match analysis is done.
People have come to gambling is totally not just having fun or pleasing themselves but they want to win and get the jackpot prize. In their minds all about winning but hardly can afford to accept losses and the reason why they keep chasing. They don't need money management but for them to realize that it is impossible to win gambling if we have no luck, especially for pure-luck-based games. What happens to this kind of gambler is more than addiction but it is a mental problem.
600  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Know how to use Fundamental and Technical Analysis on: November 11, 2023, 06:20:20 AM
Fundamental tells you what to do, while Technical tells you when to do it
This is the shortest explanation for this two, and yes this is correct.
Fundamental tells us if the project if worthy, and technical analysis helps us on timing the market so we can get the best price at the right time. This two should complement each other and if you are a long term investor, better not to forget to do fundamental analysis because not all project can be good in long term.
Both of them had different roles, traders would use TA while Holder would use FA. This is why we just focus on understanding the one the most needed for us, though we can still learn both of them as well. But the question arises if we could execute it well because it makes no sense if we fail to understand the situation of the market. We know TA and FA, plus executed well, and choose the right project(s) --success isn't far from happening. That is obviously not an easy job for us but certainly earn good rewards in the end.
