Hi, can you use more than one coupon per miner on hashnest?  Shocked

No.

From e-mail;

As a token of appreciation for being our valued customer, HashNest would like to issue you a special $115 discount coupon towards the purchase of a new Antminer S7. All customers who purchased an S7 in shop from 2015-09-09 to 2016-03-24 are eligible for this promotion (S7 purchased from MARKET are beyond the promotion).
One S7 hold can receive one coupon.

For S5 hashing holders, you can claim the coupon for purchase S7 instead choose to redeem them. Also, One S5 redemption can convert one S7 coupon.

A bit hard to understand their broken English though.

I did not expect this thread Necro. You're quite a few months late. Now... 100USD coupons arent even sold for 0.005 BTC Sorry your 0.18BTC ask made me chuckle a bit. Bitmain is flooding everyone with coupons.

I'll lock the thread to prevent further confusion...
604  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Want to Buy (10) S5's with psu's or similar (close to 10TH) $1000.00 CAD on: March 31, 2016, 12:52:52 AM
Looking to buy 10TH worth of hashing power...have a budget or roughly $1000.00 CAD im located in toronto, ontario, canada...dont mind a local pickup

Dont mind any amount of bitmain antminers...as long as they include psu's..

Thanks

Here's my thread with the ASIC i have for sale;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1306352.msg13377310#msg13377310

I'm 5 hours away on car so unless you planned on doing a trip to Ottawa soon, it would have to be shipped, though within Canada its not bad at all.
605  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cant get guiminer to work on: March 30, 2016, 06:26:23 PM
ok  iget that i need those special hardwares to mine I guess i have to buy one to test things out

Well for altcoin minings, you can mine with GPU, but you're still not going to get anything done with a crappy one. Ethereum is worth checking out, i got links on my sigs for the tools needed.
606  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cant get guiminer to work on: March 30, 2016, 08:45:23 AM
I always liked the simple gui window and easy to programmed menus.. Sgminer is king and I wish there is a gui version of it

Well, i guess there kindof is. There's tons of watchdog software for this. I used CGWatcher at some point, but now i just run a command line. Beside SG/CGMiner's UI work just fine, even though its just text.
607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cant get guiminer to work on: March 30, 2016, 08:05:51 AM
guiminer now comes in many flavors , scrypt, neoscrypt, ect , ect the only way I was able to get them to work for Amd based video gpu is to run an older amd 5850 gpu and install older amd drivers.. When I removed my 5850 and installed an 8870 the drivers were to old and the guiminer didn't work , I updated the drivers and it still didn't work .. Removed the 8870 and put back the 5850 back in .. It still didn't work .. I had to uninstall the amd drivers and reinstall version 14.7 from 15.30... What a pain in the ass ..

Just use newer miner, probably cgminer or sgminer and use a very very very simple command line put in a .bat, its not hard. But with a CPU he's not going to earn anything anyways.
608  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud mining? on: March 30, 2016, 06:12:34 AM
What is the catch with cloud mining?

I see you could purchase 10Th/s for less than what two S7's would cost to buy?

What am I missing?  Huh

Sez xx

The electricity cost on the hosting. It make a serious dents on the profit and when the profitability go down, the hosting cost does not so you're left with mostly worthless hash.
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cant get guiminer to work on: March 30, 2016, 02:38:56 AM
no

TLDR: You cannot mine BTC with such hardware anymore. Look for a Gekkoscience sidehack usb ASIC for 25$ or so.

beat you to it with the quick short answer

Yeah... and as short as it was, there is'nt much to add. There should seriously be a sticky with the super common questions that get asked over and over everyday, though.

Sadly, it look like my Pick isint all that crazy anymore, eh? Tongue
Hopefully it will remain too high for this round...
612  Other / Meta / Re: Lock / Unlock Topic on: March 29, 2016, 07:38:29 PM
I dont like the notion of locking threads once they are answered. It removes the chance for someone that finds it later (e.g. via google) to ask a follow up question. If you think someone is consistantly spamming, consider:

#1 ignoring them
#2 report them to the signature campaign manager (if applicable)
#3 report them to the staff, either directly or via one of the threads in meta

Yes, its up to the person that would necro the thread to make sure its sensical to do so and he's not just spamming a generic answer to an irrelevant 6 months old comment. Locking the threads preemptively just mean more threads will be opened which is not ideal.
613  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Blocks are full. Are pool owners sleeping ? on: March 29, 2016, 07:35:19 PM
Because Bitcoin has a 1mB limit and a hard fork would be needed to change it, along with all that this entail.
Did u even understand the meaning of this statement ?

Why are not you still mining with a client that supports 2mb blocks ?

Yes. But do you?

Using a different client that support 2mB blocks won't actually allow it. A Fork need to happen first. For this to happen you need Antpool, BTCC, F2P and most of every one else to agree. Meanwhile in China, AntPool is indeed SPV mining empty blocks because they dont care.

You can't contact any of the big pools by posting here so you're wasting your time.

Now all you're doing is actually starting the 420th threat on the Bitcoin fork topic, which has been talked through and through several time and doing it in the wrong forum section.
614  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS][From Canada]2 x Avalon 6 + Controller Total = 1170USD on: March 29, 2016, 06:55:27 PM
How much is the S1? I'm looking to gift a miner to one of my friends and I just need a s1.

Dunno, make an offer. If shipped outside Canada, its probably not worth it.

could be interested in A6. Pm me the price  Wink

I'd rather take offers for now as i dont really need to sell those yet. They're not a problem to keep, the S5/S7 are. But if offered a price similar to a S7, i may take it.

Everything is still up for offer. LMK. +Bump

Cleaned Title to Sell A6's specifically. Price set to 1300$ for the kit. +Bump

Dropping price to 1230$ for the kit. PM Offers.  Thanks Smiley

May need to clear out sooner than expected, dropping the price for the kit to 1170USD.

100% of the last 30 blocks (404860 - 404828) are over 0.9mb. 2000+ BTC in Tx fee available from 6618 transactions. Why are not you still mining with a client that supports 2mb blocks ?

616  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: No Mining = End of Bitcoin? on: March 29, 2016, 02:44:36 AM
No the BTC machines don't send money to each other. If they find a block solution, the pool will include some transactions in the block found.

And no, if BTC keep up, mining will always be profitable. If its not for 90% of the machines, then 90% of the machine will drop and the rest of the 10% will get 10x more.
617  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: antminer s5 on: March 28, 2016, 09:54:56 PM
They are very good. However how good they are for you depends on your Mining objectives and your Electricity price / KWh?

Rich

Considering he just created another thread about this;
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1415897.msg14346129;topicseen#msg14346129

The answer is the same. The more S5 hashrate he gets, the more money he would lose. Considering i already said even a S7 would be bad, i thought it would of been obvious that anything lesser would be worse.
618  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: antminer s3 on: March 28, 2016, 07:40:26 PM
so it's about .10-.11 i believe around here so what would you estimate on how much hash rate i would need to start making decent profit?

Um, maybe you don't understand how this work? Its Earning vs Cost.

It doesn't matter how much hashrate you have, you won't profit. Use a simple calculator;
http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator

It works good to calculate today's earning. For the S3, you're running it about 2 cents cost per 1 cent worth of BTC atm. As such even a S7 would be bad for you.

Mine blink Green, not sure whats up with red blink, specially if its hashing fine. With a EVGA G2 1300 you can run both at full speed of 393hz~ for 1.3TH/s. It'd draw about 1300W.

Mine blink red, green, amber.  I think green is the network, amber on the blades and red on the BBB.  Might be different for different batches.

Well i'm talking about the monitoring led next to the Ethernet cable. There's a green and a red LED. The red one turn off and the green one blink slowly when its working normally.
