@gbr79a. If you are extremely scared for your safety and privacy, you should use a Monero donation address. You can use xmr.to to purchase something in bitcoin.

Also, do not listen to anyone who tells you to use webwallets.
6082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: November 30, 2019, 12:41:20 AM
The pick of the week for me is green bay over the giants -6
5.  Giants have one of the worst LB/DB situations.  Aaron Rodgers is going to have a field day with them.  I would go on to think that green bay will win 34-17.  Green bay needs this win bad and the giants have nothing to play for, this one will get ugly fast

My pick of the week would be the 49ers +6 versus the Ravens. The Ravens are good, might be winners of the AFC conference, however, they might not beat -6 spread versus one of the best teams in the NFC.
6083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: November 29, 2019, 04:19:57 AM
@nutildah. This game is unexpectedly competitive. What was the spread? I reckon it was Saints -6.5 for the full game and -3 for the 1st half?

Shifted down to -7 moments before the game started. I don't actually look at halves, but its looking pretty likely that the Saints are going to cover both halves at this point. Looks like it will only be downhill for the Falcons from here.

I gave them a chance until the 3rd turnover in the 2nd half hehehe.

I'm looking for an exchange I can buy grin. I used to use polo but us based so no can do. thank you

You can see exchanges where Grin listed here:

https://next-prod.coinmarketcap.com/currencies/grin/markets/

I would reccomend you Okex, Kucoin and Bibox (exchanges which I used and have not any problem).

Also, Grin listed to DEX exchange:

https://x.vite.net/trade?symbol=GRIN-000_ETH-000

However, do Okex, Kucoin and Bibox not require their users to do give up identification and other private documents?

@figmentofmyass. This is what usually happens, very similar to ICOs. In any case, does the Nasdaq allow shortselling of newly listed stocks hehehe? That might also be another reason.
6087  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The Essential NFL Thread 🏈🏈 - new poll every week on: November 29, 2019, 12:51:58 AM
@nutildah. Which game will be polled for week 13, Lamar versus the 49ers or the Browns versus the Steelers rematch hehehe?

Lamar defeated the Seahawks and the Patriots. I reckon winning the next game might make him the best candidate for MVP.
If Baltimore can defeat SF convincingly then Lamar Jackson will not only become the favourite to be the MVP the Ravens will become the clear favourites to win the super bowl, but while this year has been amazing for Lamar his success comes mostly from being a dual threat and there is always a huge uproar when someone like him appears but we know that at some point he will lose some of that speed and the hits he receives will begin to take a toll on his body, he must be aware of that and I expect he adjusts his game accordingly.

For the game of the poll I voted for the Browns I really doubt the Steelers will beat them with their third QB, also I think the Browns are a very emotional team and their three winning streak is slowly rising the morale of that team, as for today I will not be able to watch all the games but I will make an effort to watch Buffalo at Dallas and while Buffalo’s defence will give problems I really expect Dallas to come up with the win.

P.S. To all of those that celebrate it I wish them a Happy Thanksgiving Day.

Agreed. It might also be the preview for the Super Bowl, similar to their game versus the Patriots might be the preview to the AFC divisional championship hehehe.

I choose the Steelers for the home crowd and angry team.
6088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wilder vs. Fury II: The Rematch is On on: November 28, 2019, 02:17:46 AM
Are there sportsbooks already offering early odds for this fight? I would be betting on the early odds underdog, whoever it may be, maybe Tyson Fury hehehe. It might become close to even odds when fight day arrives.

@stompix. Similar to ICO listings. The investors who bought some shares directly from the company before listing day are dumping some of them because it is yielding profit hehe.

Hmm, yeah all my instincts point to the same explanation but.
This is no damn ICO, this is something regulated, inspected, lots of -ected.

I mean, common no matter how many flaws it has it's still Nasdaq, not yobit or mintpal, pulling this sort of stuff.
And this is nothing like the Facebook IPO which experienced also a drop, that one was overvalued at selling time, there was effectively no buying power left on the market with them throwing shares after shares but here we have single buy covered. If they really faked the IPO and sold the shares to themselves it would mean some kind of inquiry from the SEC sooner or later.

Lowest price 7.36 ...and Bitmain making black friday discounts!

The game might be run by different people, however, the game is similar with similar agendas. To sell for a profit and to get their funding from the public.
6091  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-11-27] One Reason People Aren’t Paying With Bitcoin: Taxes on: November 28, 2019, 01:11:54 AM
Alongside waiting for a less rainy day, the prime reason no one spends it is because hardly anyone earns in it. If that ever changes then I would expect much more flow. It can be a right grind buying it and no one buys something to buy something else. If you have it arriving in your wallet every week that makes for a rather different mind set.

I disagree. Bitcoin's price volatility, the community's hodl mentality and bitcoin's monetary policy are certainly making many people spend their coins more sparingly. Give people bitcoins for nothing and I reckon they will not spend most of it if they knew what it is hehe.
6092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [NEWS] Binance Shanghai Office Reportedly Shut Down after Local Police Raid on: November 27, 2019, 03:17:29 AM
Outsourcing doesn't mean there are already shady actions. What's wrong with the cutting of expenses?

Yes, and i understand your point,

But the whole point here is if Cz lied when he said that Binance had no office in Shangai,
So let say it was not directly Binance, it was an office from an outsource company owned by someone else, but the workers are doing work for Binance.
Example, someone from Binance form a company in China, give a different name, and hire workers, to work for Binance, doing support, social media, marketing, who knows.
We already seen evidence, on Chinese Tv, not only that article from The Block.
And i am sure that China has laws to protect their citizens from exploitation from foreign companies.

I reckon Binance and the Block have bended the truth to serve their own needs. Binance wanted to protect itself from FUD while the Block wanted to publish a clickbait article for more clicks hehehe.

I well remember Chinageddon in 2014. What amazed me about that was it was impossible to get any sense of what was actually going on. I don't think it ever arrived. There are however many tens or hundreds of thousands of Chinese users on this very forum and I don't recall any of the selfish pricks telling us a single thing.

I didn't know these 'local exchanges' existed. Or maybe they never did.

There might be nothing to tell hehehe. Also, it would only be fud if despite Chinageddon since 2014 and bitcoin went to $20k on 2017.
6095  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-11-27] One Reason People Aren’t Paying With Bitcoin: Taxes on: November 27, 2019, 01:59:07 AM
The author of this article might think that taxes is one reason, however, it is not the main reason. The main reason is most people only use bitcoin for holding and speculation because of its moon math characteristic. We should not be in denial about this.

However, it is a good article about the absurdity of taxation in the cryptospace.

Today, almost no one is using Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies for everyday payments. There are a few different reasons for this, including Bitcoin’s price volatility, but that’s far from the only problem. While Bitcoin has become a more stable store of value over time, the tax implications of using Bitcoin for payments remain an impediment to widespread use.

While some Bitcoin enthusiasts have no issue with breaking or bending the law to avoid capital gains taxes on cryptocurrency payments, the mainstream consumer does not necessarily want to take that kind of risk. This issue around capital gains taxes on Bitcoin payments was debated by Bitrefill CEO Sergej Kotliar and ShapeShift CEO Erik Voorhees at the Bitcoin 2019 conference over the summer.

But it’s not just about willingness to play by the rules. Even those who are perfectly willing to pay taxes on Bitcoin payments are faced with headaches and complicated accounting just to make sure they aren’t breaking the law.

...

I think he's going to loose the rest of the year. There seems to be no-one giving him the benefit of the doubt for anything like maybe responding to a racial slur or some other mitigating type circumstance....

Called it first.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x-4NtXDhMpY

Quote
Myles Garrett accuses Mason Rudolph of using a racial slur, which Rudolph denies | NFL Live
And now we need to give the benefit of the doubt to Rudolph, we know that many lawyers are not above lying when it comes to represent their clients and playing the race card is a very easy way to try to defend what Garrett did, unless evidence appears corroborating this information then we need to assume Rudolph is innocent, I have my doubts this actually happened because if it was true then Garrett would have revealed this information immediately as a justification for his behaviour after the game and he did not.

BTW your personal text is very fitting. Grin

Rudolph was fined $50k so I think they bought Garrett's accusation of it happening on the field.
Now if he was just mic'd up.

The NFL already declared that they found nothing on Rudolph. There was an article about it. Myles Garret might have only made a desperate move to take Rudolph with him hehehe.

@ralle14. Lamar MVP hehehe. It might be a close one with him and Russ Wilson.
6097  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-11-26] China Shuts Over 100 Crypto Exchanges on: November 26, 2019, 01:34:09 AM
I shake my head. Is this finally real or fud? I have not read any complaints from Chinese users about their coins locked in an exchange because they have abruptly exited from China.

China has been making very significant headlines for over a month now, with the government making several moves and pronouncements regarding cryptocurrency and blockchain technology in general. A very interesting one is, however, China’s decision to close down all digital currency exchanges in the country.

It is not news that while China is very much in support of blockchain technology, the country is quite averse to cryptocurrencies specifically, and has spent some time cracking down on the sector.

Now, it would seem like authorities have taken this crackdown a notch higher according to a recent tweet from a Chinese blockchain firm, CnLedger, which quoted a report from the People’s Bank of China (PBoC). The tweet said:

“Just in: ‘The 173 Chinese virtual-currency trading and token issuing platforms have all exited without risk”, from PBoC’s newly released China Financial Stability Report (2019).”

@btc_angela. A verbal agreement is not as good anymore. It will take many more months of negotiations before they can honor their verbal agreement to fight as early as 2021 hehehe.

In any case, the skeptical me thinks that Deontay Wilder bet on the over 6.5 and waited for the 7th round to knock out Ortiz hehehehehe.
6099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price drop but institutional investors on Bakkt are buying like crazy! on: November 25, 2019, 04:03:45 AM
However, some hedge funds are shorting CME bitcoin futures to hedge out risk from their exposure on bitcoins. This is the game they play similar to the punters of sportsbetting on getting tips and news from each other and use it.

They do not care about the cryptospace.

Some hedge funders out there appear to have made a stronger bet on the short side of the CME bitcoin futures market over the past week, data from the Commodities Futures Trading Commission shows.

As per a research report by The Block's Ryan Todd, hedge funds were overwhelmingly short during the week of November 12th compared to the sell-side, asset managers, and other groups. Specifically, net short positioning (Short OI - Long OI) among hedge funds that trade the CME bitcoin product was at an all time high over the last two weeks of COT report prints.

To be sure, the data only shows net positioning of CME bitcoin futures; funds could still be exposed to the underlying spot on the long side and using bitcoin futures to hedge out risk.
