621  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DigiPiglets - BTC Piggy Bank NEW SAMPLE PICS - First 10 Orders 50% off on: April 11, 2019, 09:03:30 AM
Just wanted to mention that I'll be doing a full review of this when it arrives.
I'll be publishing it on my Steemit blog, but I'll make sure to also write about my experiences here on Bitcointalk.

The first thing I have to say is that the ordering process went extremely well.
So many different payment methods (Bitcoin, Paypal, CC, bank deposit, etc.) & his website automatically fills in your address after you've typed a couple of letters.

Looking forward to seeing the BTC piggy bank arrive Smiley
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling securely and sensibly online on: April 10, 2019, 04:24:50 PM
I would use a smart wallet if available. The wallet should enable me place limits on the amount I  gamble with daily.  Once I reach the limit, the wallet automatically locks the funds until  next next day or week

That's actually not a bad idea, I wonder if something like that already exists?
I mean, you already have the ability to time-lock a Bitcoin transaction and I know several other cryptocurrencies have similar functions like that.

With my Steem account, I can also lock however much Steem I want for either 3 or 7 days, which is pretty handy.
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AGAIN: China says it wants to eliminate bitcoin mining on: April 10, 2019, 03:44:43 PM
I never agree that China or India, or even any other developing country needs to care SO much about the environment and sacrifice their industrial outputs and productivity,,, remember it is easy for developed nations to say they take care of the planet, but it was them who killed all their wildlife and burned down all their forests and polluted all their rivers,,, then also came to Asia and Africa to take resources.

But at the same time,,, China pretending to care about the environment is too silly!

China and India fighting for clean air. That's something new. They are among the three biggest pollutants in the world.

--snip--

China should first stop polluting air and water and install some filtration systems or they will destroy this planet.

It's not about clean air, they're only banning Bitcoin mining because Bitcoin (and other cryptocurrencies) are a threat to their own currency.

In the end, this could be good for US and European miners, who do not have to compete against China's miners, who have access to cheap electricity & mining hardware.
I wonder if the Chinese miners will move their operations abroad...

This means EOS transactions can be reversed?

That's right. ECAF (EOS Core Arbitration Forum) is responsible for resolving all controversial situations. It is decentralized as well.

Remember DAO hack in 2016 when $60 mln of ether were stolen? On EOS this transaction could be reversed.
Nobody would agree to lose his money due to hackers' attack or a mistake in the code. Thus, EOS has more chances for mass adoption as it allows to cancel such kind of transactions.

Yet another example of "cool things" that have completely lost their way... You have an arbiter and call it decentralised at the same time?

Bitcoin has no problems for mass adoption *because* it doesn't allow spends to be reversed. That was a problem that needed to be solved with existing money and systems. If you can't see the danger in allowing to cancel transactions, then you need to go back to the drawing board, just like all these projects.

If hackers attack the network or there is a mistake in the code (I'll ignore that there have been countless found, embarrassingly for a multi-billion ICO) then they fix them, not leave a backdoor open like this.

Indeed! That's what rubs me the wrong way about EOS and they have already done this in the past, I don't know if you remember this?
https://www.ccn.com/eos-decentralization-questioned-once-again-as-block-producers-freeze-27-accounts

I'm just waiting until they reverse the wrong transaction...
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Heard of Crypto Games Conference in Belarus? on: April 10, 2019, 10:27:12 AM
Hadn't heard of it before, but it's interesting that this is taking place in Belarus out of all countries.
Does Belarus have lax gambling regulations or something?

I know that they have pretty open views regarding cryptocurrency, but I wouldn't think this was also the case for gambling in general.
626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lightning Network: 1% Daily Compounded Growth on: April 10, 2019, 09:43:33 AM
How does this work exactly? I'm still a complete noob when it comes to lightning network.
Do you have to set up your own node for this or can you also 'invest' in someone else's node?
627  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto-Games.net ⭐ 4 Years Old ⭐ No bet delay on dice every Monday! ⭐ on: April 09, 2019, 06:15:32 PM

628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling securely and sensibly online on: April 09, 2019, 04:40:02 PM
I tend to just quit gambling when I feel that I'm gambling too much.
I've lost a couple times lately and decided that I'm going to quit gambling for a couple of weeks at least.

I don't have any issues with quitting over an extended period of time, I think it really helps prevent me getting addicted.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Digital options - Gambling or trading? on: April 09, 2019, 02:27:33 PM
IMO, digital options is a type of gambling but then again what isn't?

Yes it's just pure gambling based on the exchange rates, it's really not at all like trading, since you almost can't make informed decisions in such a short amount of time.
I'd be pretty wary of the companies that offer services like these, there are lots of scams floating around.
630  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DigiPiglets - BTC Piggy Bank NEW SAMPLE PICS - First 10 Orders 50% off on: April 09, 2019, 11:09:52 AM
Thanks for positivity Grin I am definitely sending you a free DigiPiglet once we got the hologram design ready! I'll send you a PM!

I've been thinking about sending a few DigiPiglets to celebrities, important figures of crypto and opponents as well. Who should receive one?

That's really neat! I know my followers would be very interested in reading about this cool product Smiley

Ivan on Tech on Youtube would be a good choice as well.
631  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why there is so much fuss about decentralized exchanges on: April 09, 2019, 09:31:42 AM
Well, you can't just make blanket statements like that about all decentralized exchanges, there are still huge differences between them.
I've recently started trading on Saturn, which offers a very nice experience overall.

I don't have to create an account & can instantly buy/sell coins via their saturn wallet, which is a fork of Metamask.
No KYC or need to give away your personal information, that's a big plus for me.
632  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: DigiPiglets - BTC Piggy Bank NEW SAMPLE PICS - First 10 Orders 50% off on: April 09, 2019, 09:08:06 AM
Here you go:

Can't believe your post was downvoted so much on the Bitcoin subreddit.
I get that it's basically a commercial post, but it's still pretty cool to share I think.

Btw, if you're interested, I'd be willing to write a review of your product on my Steemit blog, which has around 850 followers.
No charge for the article itself, though it would be nice if you could send a piggy bank for free in exchange, so I can review it & add some original photographs.

You can see a review of my services here on CoinScribble
633  Economy / Gambling / Re: ⭐ Crypto-Games.net ⭐ 4 Years Old ⭐ No bet delay on dice every Monday! ⭐ on: April 08, 2019, 10:45:39 AM
It is a while now since i have seen a winning streak competition, Would love to see that again in the future. Any plans for it ?
Heading back to minesweeper for now ; )

Well player Sceobba658 won an amazing 16.08 BTC (79,596 $!) on roulette, why wouldn't you? Smiley

I know you're answering klaaas, but my response would be:
Because I'm really not that lucky Tongue
No, I've been lucky with roulette in the past, but these past couple of weeks I've spent a bit too much and didn't end up winning.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Overview of Universal Basic Income Crypto Projects [24 Projects Listed] on: April 08, 2019, 10:19:23 AM
About Steem though, I used to write there but I never got any income even after many many posts. Maybe two or three posts got 1 cent:)

That's exactly what Steembasicincome is trying to fix.
After you enroll with them, you are guaranteed to get a certain amount of upvotes on your posts, depending on how much you put into Steembasicincome.

I for example get around a $1 upvote from them on every post I make.
Partly because I've received many shares of people and also because I put some Steem into it.

Keep in mind, these are upvotes you get for as long as you are active on Steem.

636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is gambling addiction also a result of trauma? on: April 05, 2019, 05:15:06 PM
Personally, I want to say and voted " Yes, that is probably true ". Though I did not play gamble like other people, sometimes I started before to play some dice game before. And my feeling was I am mad, I can not do work properly because always I was thinking about my investment. Sometimes feel headache and suffer from more depression.
This happens, I experience the same with sports betting. Particularly on tennis, with full confidence I bet and when things go out of our predictions unable to accept the loss. This won't allow to concentrate on any of the work properly. Anything that is giving mental pressure will lead to trauma, gambling too is the same and it isn't an exception.
It will gamblers addicts will result in trauma, it is because they expecting too much high profit on gambling. Even if they don't have money they lend someone else just to gamble and hoping a huge earn profit. When suddenly lost everything that will result in mental illness and probable cause of trauma. While at an early stage you can avoid this problem and having self-discipline is a must.

Uhm, that's totally not what the thread is about... It's not about gambling giving you trauma, it's about gambling addiction being a result of trauma.
Though I guess in some extreme cases, gambling addiction itself may cause some trauma. If you've just lost all your savings to gambling or something.
637  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: iVendPay - a vending machine payment module on: April 05, 2019, 04:43:29 PM
I'm a little bit confused about the release dates of these modules.
On their roadmap, they mention that their vending machine modules and POS systems should already be available (released), but I don't see where to purchase them.

Or do you just have to send them an order via their contact form?
638  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: mTurk Equivalent but pays satoshi for task! on: April 05, 2019, 04:15:28 PM
Hey, thanks for checking out my site! Great to find feedback here. I've worked on this as a hobby for the last 8-9 months just because of my love of Bitcoin and Lightning Network. It's still brand new, and just starting to get some active users. But I think it will take some time before we're able to get a lot of high quality posts. I'm working on ideas on how to improve the results so that more people are inclined to post higher paying tasks. But I think that's going to come down to 1) attracting more successful businesses that need help, startups, and investors, 2) building an algorithm+filters to limit results to your personal definition of quality tasks.

And by the way, you can post counter-offers to any user's task! You don't need to accept the initial offer. I think negotiation is a beautiful thing, because the idea is that when both sides agree, they can both win. I'm also thinking of ways to improve the entire negotiation process to be a friendly encounter, and not one that feels like a war. I am thinking of allowing flexible ranges, or letting an asker choose to collect many estimates before accepting offers (like a silent auction, I think?).

In regards to the "lack of rules" - that was definitely intentional. One of the things I love about Bitcoin is that it is permissionless, and while I do believe some amount of moderation is important to the quality, I believe that restrictions are not the best way to deal with it. I want to ensure that anyone can post, even controversial things (if they are not downright illegal and put me or the business in danger). And, give the taskers the power to filter and sort out unwanted tasks according to their preference. Plus, the site was so new and experimental, that I wanted to learn how users were going to use the site. By letting everything in, I could try to get a sense of what people were interested in getting help with. I wanted to adjust and grow the site from that experience.

I know the site is very rough, and I've been trying my best to built it as a one-man operation. I've been busy with all the design, marketing, affiliate management, customer support, server management, devops, system adminstration, backend development, frontend development, backups, legal, accounting, branding, advertising, and trying to recover from family issues and a back surgery. I put my heart into this project, and will continue to do so. I'm happy as long as a few handful of people love the site.

I set the fees extremely low, and most likely at such a rate, it will probably never become wildly profitable. But really, I just wanted to contribute something even if it was small, to the world of Bitcoin, in great respect to Satoshi whoever he/she is, and everyone who feels the same. My life is short, and very few things have great meaning to me. But I believe if Bitcoin succeeds, then the world will be a better place. And that's all I want - for me to try to leave this world a little better than when I found it.

Tim @ Microlancer.io

My commentary wasn't directed at your site specifically, I really think it's a great example of how lightning network can be used.

I really do hope that people also post some higher paying jobs on there and I agree that you shouldn't set up any restrictions.
In the end, it's up to people themselves to decide for what amount they want to work.

The fact that you can also post counter-offers is a really nice touch!
639  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Neo based Stable coin will change Stable coin history...? on: April 05, 2019, 04:03:17 PM
I still don't understand what is the advantage of having a stablecoin...if I need to have $ or Eur I think it's better to change crypto to FIAT. Also there is no stablecoin that is guaranteed by a trusted third party escrow.

Not all exchanges offer fiat trading pairs, so stablecoins are quite handy to trade on decentralized exchanges for example.
Now, whether it's safe to hold your funds in those stablecoins is a whole different story...
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino affiliate marketing on: April 05, 2019, 03:49:41 PM
Just tried a few, and only made a few. So it's not really that profitable unless you know some a large group of people who can help you and make them use the platform. Even though people nowadays wants an easypeasy money, still they don't want to try those referral things as for the majority of them in the past only made a fake affiliates. So the efforts has been wasted and they only made the people looked dumb for advertising their platform for free.

You really can't hope to earn anything if you don't put the time into it.
I mean, the tips on the website of OP are useful, but they don't mention how much time it takes to build a profitable affiliate business.

Just setting up your social media pages and getting enough real followers on them is a pretty difficult task that takes months.
Building your website isn't that hard, but getting visitors to it will also take some time.

I've gotten quite a few referrals which have earned me a nice bit of side-income, but it also took me a while.
