641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: December 06, 2023, 01:35:48 AM
Maybe you know already: we have good coin and we have bad coin. While Bitcoin is very good coin, TRON is bad coin and here is why:

- TRON didn't achieve any additional technological advance compared to existing coin
- TRON is only launched because Justin Sun hates Vitalik Buterin and Ethereum
- Justin Sun failed to compete against Ethereum. Ethereum is much better, has much better technology and better developers
- Justin Sun just SHILLS his shitcoin TRON instead of implementing a better technology

Everyone should know, how fraudulent TRON really is.
Avoid bad coin like TRON.

That's a way to look at it. But technologically Tron do have some perks over Ethereum and as both of now support the same programming language,
The founder doesn't decide and is not responsible for every action of either Ethereum or Tron. Vitalik Buterin is not the decision maker in ethereum. Neither is Justin Sun alone for Tron. It's controlled by a group of developers, miners and users. Tron has been sticking on as a coin with large marketcap, volume  and userbase. And there are invisible forces that determines the price rather than the utility of a coin. Tron seem to have a good accumulation. They could recover well in the bull run if whales plan as so.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 05, 2023, 03:48:13 PM
Between drugs and gambling, which one do you think is more addicting than the other? I have a good reason for asking this question, because there is something I saw not too long and I am doubting if anyone have seen the same thing, I am from a place where crack heads ( drugs addicts ) and also gambling addicts are all around, here is what I've seen.

I have seen crack heads more than responsible with there cash, than gambling addicts, this is what make me to ask you guys this question, drug junks are more responsible than gamblers, I have seen a gambling addict who spend 200 grand in under one and half hour on gambling, I've never seen a crack head done such before, not even on drugs.

I have seen a crack head who changed and when we had some chats he thank God in front of me, saying he is thankful that is addiction was on drugs and not gambling, he sounds so scary of getting addicted to gambling as he confirmed that gambling seems so much harder to quit.

He went on and say something about his friend who use 15 years on gambling and the friend isn't really sure how he will stop and the friend said that if he didn't stop it will kill him sooner or later, like he knew the danger lurking but he doesn't know how to stop, he isn't sure he will get better. The friend started telling him how the world will be better off without him, that's when they started locking him up, and the battle to change him when on for four years straight before he died from strange illness.

I was so scared with this story and It affected me for a while, I stopped gambling for a week because of what I heard from this man, his appearance is that of someone you won't want to listen to but what he went through is so eye opening that if other addicted gamblers hear from him it could change them, gambling addiction is really scary.

That is not true at all and it is a super distant mistake as some people say.I know drug addicts who have given their wife, mother, sister for sex just to buy drugs and while gamblers also the most addicted of all have given their wives in extreme cases I don't know any case where they have given the sister or mother to do just that, this as the best analogy to make it clear that there are no worse people on the planet than drug addicts and comparing gamblers to them I took it as a heavy personal offense as I am also a gambler although not addicted.

Crack heads are never ever more responsible than gamblers, they sell their house, threat people for money and also the above things which are the worse.

The drug addict does everything for a single dose. But mostly by themselves. Drug addict women easily turns into a prostitute. But they have less say on their family.
That again is not much different from to what extent gambling addict goes. But the suffering transfers to the family.
Drug addiction nearly destroys the person but gambling addiction have much larger effect on the whole family. Drug addiction could be easily identified unlike gambling one.
Hardcore gamblers would never define themselves as gambling addict unless they lose everything.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Slot games are a waste of time and money (most of the time) on: December 05, 2023, 11:35:24 AM
The risk of a completely luck-based game like slot machines is huge and it's very frustrating, if you get involved but don't bring control and some strong boundaries to be honest I'm not sure you will be able to survive completely, even more often than not you will easily lose money very quickly. On the other hand, as you suggested about not going overboard with this type of game, I think this is a game that is too hard for people who are not mentally tough.

Of course then I hope that if you really want to get involved there then at least you have to find out first about the biggest impact that can happen and befall you, you can see many examples from other people's cases, for those who are too serious in putting hope by always chasing defeat in order to achieve recovery is very difficult and impossible in my opinion. So if you are not ready then I think it's better to look for other bets that are safer and not too draining mentally and your money such as maybe skill-based sports if you really have knowledge in the world of sports.
It is difficult to completely resist the temptation of slot games because playing slot machines can make us want to play them continuously, maybe until our money runs out, then we can stop. And yes, playing slots requires strong self-control and clear boundaries so we can know when we should stop. Having to stop here means we shouldn't play slots continuously because this type of game is very tempting and can make us addicted. That could be the reason many people like this slot game because the temptation to get big multipliers that can give them big wins makes them unable to stop playing slots easily.

Most gamblers don't think about the biggest impact that can happen and hit them because they see lots of videos showing people can win with big multipliers. But unfortunately, they don't see videos of people losing a lot of money or even all their money. Most gamblers are also not mentally prepared to see their losses in slot games, which makes them return to slot games continuously. They try to recover from previous losses by playing again another day but they don't realize that this will result in more losses and they cannot recover from their losses. Only with awareness and self-control can they realize that they have gone too far in playing slots so they can decide to start reducing their gambling. Otherwise, they will really lose a lot of money and it could make them go bankrupt.
Slot games are actually entertaining and thrilling but for me it would really just that only last or would really be just good on just few rolls and im not that a gambler whose really that
playing long with slots because i do get easily bored and this is why when i do play some casino games then it would be neither on slots, roulettes or dice games etc... On the time that
i do get bored then this is the time i would really be considering on making some sports bet on which i do really make those  changes of games whenever on what my mood is.
There are times on which i dont like to play casino games on entire day and would be focusing on playing or betting on sports and there are days which i do play only casino games
or something interchangeable.

Slots have one of the worst odd for winning for the gamblers. Slots were started as an arcade game and they are focused on entertainment than anything else.
There's zero skill involved in slots so anyone can play them without any thoughts and prior idea about rules. Even if you know the rules, there's no outcome you could change.
They are a fun way to pass the time and often getting smaller rewards, the gameplay lasts longer. The expectation of jackpot attracts the people.
They are one of the difficult games to implement betting strategies.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Established Altcoins or new potential coins this bullrun ? on: December 05, 2023, 03:08:25 AM
As we are either in bull run or approaching it I wanted to understand about investment opinions from fellow users as Bitcoin will remain the first choice of investment but if we want more profit we know we have to go ahead with Altcoin for higher profit with higher risk involved. But when it comes to Altcoin would you prefer the established coins like ETH, XRP, Matic, BNB and SOL or wanna give a chance to newbuds which will bloom during this bullrun ? Existing ones who has pumped during last bullrun or new finds ? Which one would be your choice of investment?

I would prefer new Altcoins which is entering bullrun for the first time.

The golden rule of investing asks you to keep your eggs in different baskets. The exact proportion of the investment would depend on the individuals and how much risk they want to take. Even among the established altcoins, there are some alts that have had a spectacular rise last two months while some haven't rose as much. Coins like LTC and MATIC are both established, have potential for the future and haven't increased much in the current bull run. Newer ICO coins are also a good choice during the bull run. If you did a fair amount of research, a new good coin have only one way ahead, UP.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: December 05, 2023, 01:52:48 AM
I'm confused and looking for answers

If you are lonely, can you have interest in gambling simply because of your loneliness?

How would you judge someone who says they don't gamble because it's fun, is that a sign of a gambling addiction?

If you are making $600 a day, that's $20000 in a month, and because you are only you start having interest to gamble, what do you think this is?

All these questions is been asked because someone close said all these and I think he are losing money and losing himself too, of all the discussions we had, these are the points I held unto.

Later he open up to have been using $500 for gambling per day, he said all these started when his wife left him, that he isn't into gambling at all, but I can't ask why his wife left him in the first place, but does loneliness make people become addicted to gambling or it's something else.

I can relate to it. I'd not call it being addicted as it's upto the individuals will power if they get addicted or not.
But being lonely increases my chances of gambling. A person who have tasted the thrill of gambling would deviate towards it when they are alone and have nothing to do.
Introverts are likely to gamble more (time). The desire even more amplifies when I'm sad. Don't if it's his gambling habit that made his wife left. But last week when I had an online disagreement with my wife who stays 500 miles (literally) away for work, I gambled whole night.
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is the sleeping giant on: December 05, 2023, 01:22:47 AM
ATH hash scrypt dominant, ATH usage & acceptance, #2 on biggest payment processor Bitpay (previously flipped Bitcoin), declared commodity, ETF looming amongst fidelity EDXM&paypal&venmo&grayscale support, privacy via MWEB, 100% uptime, no premine, fair launch. It’s wakey wakey soon

There's seem to be a good accumulation on Litecoin from whales at the moment. It is likely to have a price boost in recent future. There have been technical improvements on the chain.  The transaction fees for the coin are low and is readily accepted on most exchange, that's why it's my favorite coin for exchange hoping.
But I'm unsure about the coin on longer run like for over a decade as POW coins are being criticized and favored against due to their energy uses.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coin is more profitable? on: December 04, 2023, 06:36:31 PM
Just one bitcoin
Bitcoin is the most profitable crypto to all investors. Bitcoin is the first digital asset to hit the crypto market. In fact it was more profitable for its early investors.

There are many coins that have changed the fortune of it's investor. The true thing about bitcoin is over time, it has always increased in price. If you compare the average prices, november would be among one of the highest if not the. And we could easily expect it to go over 100K eventually, which could not be confidently said about other alts.
The thing where alt excels over bitcoin is the potential profit. Many altcoins have x10th this year but so is not the case of bitcoin.
So, every carefully analyzed should be respected and not a single strategy would work for all.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coin memes don't have a project? Is it worth buying for the long term? on: December 04, 2023, 06:00:31 PM
As far as I know, meme coin are just for fun and don't have a clear project.
Dogecoin is the first meme coin that I know, in 2021 Elon Musk supports the use of Dogecoin, since then the popularity of meme coin has peaked, many new meme coin have emerged such as
- Shiba inu
- floki
- Baby doge coin
- Pepe
and many more.
Even though there is no clear project, many people are still interested in meme coin because they have increased by thousands of%.
Are meme coin worth buying in the long term?
What is your reason for buying meme coin?

Meme tokens are like viral videos, they come at spotlight and goes and years down the path they make come to spotlight again.
Dogecoin is an exception, being one of the pioneer coin, they were already popular but due to their unlimited supply, they were loosing price. But the grace from Elon Musk made them rise again. There came different coins like Shiba Inu and PEPE that received relative success and are still trying to recover.
They could be used for short term investment or swing tradings, but they don't make a long term investment coin.
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos after the shutdowns of mixers on: December 04, 2023, 05:23:41 PM
Numerous bad news and developments unfolded this past week, mainly impacting privacy and decentralization. The recent crackdown by United States authorities on well known mixers has serious implications for users and even businesses or projects. Mixers were originally designed to keep users anonymity, and the current situation appears to be so harming for both sides and a slap for bitcoin users as well.

The worse news, is mixers will no longer be allowed in Bitcointalk for any kind of promotions or even discussions. Along with the risk of getting banned because of that means ; Mixers are dead here in BTT.

Now, you may be wondering about the connection between mixers related issues and casinos. The thing lies in casinos capability to facilitate untraceable transactions, enabling scenarios like depositing and withdrawing without a trace, potentially leading to money laundering.

The important question here: how will casinos respond to this new landscape, and what measures will they take and implement to face the challenges posed by recent developments? Probably many users will join casinos for an alternative of mixer.

The crackdown on mixers would certainly increase the number of people trying to mix their crypto in gambling sites. Specially those which don't enforce KYC.
So, could expect more strict restrictions and more KYC demands in gambling site. One way they would try to stop is requiring people to bet x times their deposit before withdrawing as everyone deposits on a gambling site to gamble. There would be no choice for users for change of mind after they deposit. The exception of gambling site with bankroll investment, they could require the investing users to hold the coin for a longer fixed amount of time before withdrawing. And for suspicious and larger deposit expect a KYC demand.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Verified twitter, telegram account is the strong point for a new project? on: December 04, 2023, 05:15:33 PM
My friend informed me that at this time many upcoming project social account like twitter, telegram is verified.
Does that mean these projects can be trusted?
In fact many are encouraged to invest in any new project following this.
What is your opinion on this matter?

No. It just means they can afford it. And I don't think a project that can't even afford a 100 dollar and a decent design for their website could deliver anything.
It's a bias but it works. It doesn't mean that every projects with a tick are legit, but it's considered a plus thing by the general investors.
When it comes to investing, the investors need to do a thorough research and analysis and set their strategy.
So, get the tick if you wants to portray as a serious project.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: First crypto exchange launched in India, current marketcap is 32k on: December 04, 2023, 04:26:52 PM

How's it the first when there are multiple of crypto exchanges in India in the past and many currently operational?
Wazir X advertises as the largest Indian crypto exchange and is partnered with many projects and Industries. They are all over the news. Their 24 hour volume is over millions of dollars.
Unocoin, Zebpay, Pocket Bits, Coinsecure, Koinex, there are multiple of India registered exchanges are in operation.

652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 04, 2023, 01:04:01 PM
On the other hand, this defeat was a shame for newly achieving the ICC World Cup toffee. If the Australian Cricket Team wins this tournament then it will be a colorful victory for the Australian Nations.
Australia's T20 series loss doesn't mean that T20 is weak, but that the series is dominated by new Australian players. Maybe the Australian players have been rested for the upcoming tour of Pakistan. But it must also be admitted that India's performance in the T20 series has been outstanding. The management has given great importance to the One-20 series as a general screening of the Indian new A team inductees.
The series between Australia and India is being considered as a test series to include some players in the squad for the tour of South Africa.

India and Australia are not only the top two cricketing teams but they also have the top 2 best cricketing structure at home. There are many promising young players trying to get a chance to show their performance in national level. The tournament gave them a chance. India has so many of these young players that you could make 10 teams from them and all of them would provide a competitive performance against any national teams.
The series were organized just after the ODI world cup so both the teams preferred to rest most of their regulars. We could expect full teams now in action as they prepare for the upcoming T20 world cup in june.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which good altcoins can I hold along with Bitcoin for the upcoming halving? on: December 04, 2023, 12:51:11 PM
This literally the first halving I'm going to experience since knowing about bitcoin. So I've already started holding Bitcoin and lately the progression  has been going well!!.So I've some Lil funds with me but I'm thinking of which good altcoins I can hold for the upcoming  halving, that's going to also skyrocket too. I was thinking about ETH, BNB and SOL. But still, I  need recommendations from you guys about the best altcoins to hold for the halving please.

If you plan to hold long term, it would be okay to go with any coin you believe would work.
But if you plan to hold for selling around the next halving, you should consider investing on the altcoins that haven't had a significant price boost last too months. One of them is Litecoin, they haven't increased more and whales are accumulating it. Another option is BNB, with the controversy around binance, it could stay low for further 3 months but the current price is good enough to start accumulating.

656  Economy / Services / Re: Utopia P2P Ecosystem 💎 | Review Campaign 🔎| Get paid in BTC | Full members+ on: December 02, 2023, 06:37:35 PM
Utopia Review
I have been using Utopia on mobile and my PC long before joining the review campaign and my overall experience with it has been as below.

Installation
I used my Linux Laptop with POP OS to install the Utopia client. The installation was native and without any extra steps than windows.

The App
What I liked the first thing about the app is it stays on the tray when you close it. This is a good thing for an app that is supposed to be ever online.
The options you get on clicking the tray icon are useful.

The app UI is comfortable enough. A bit retro look which maximizes utility. There are enough documentation and help for someone who struggles to find.
API feature though I didn't tested personally would work on creating a bridge between in app and outer internet.

App focuses on social and wallet aspects. Chat and adding people to contact is good. Managing contact is effective. There's more efficient handling of the chat than other social networks. File size limit of 2GB is good enough.

The channels are plenty but there are not enough players engaging in except a few channels. Being able to tip players by username is good.
There are 4 themes. You can change the layout or pin and unpin some tabs. Put the tab bar at bottom and many other aesthetic modification.

Played poker for a while but there mostly aren't many players.
Airdrop does make people come. Staking rewards are good incentive.
Crypton transactions are easy and different ways to use and distribute makes it easier. In app Exchange is instant.
The free proxy and privacy focused browser for users are useful.
Umail seems not much effective when everything can be done in chat.

The AI being a OpenAI model has overall info about the app and overall.

Suggestions

Works should be done to engage users on channels. I'd love to see more P2P games like rock paper scissors which are easier to implement.
In app market for good and services might bring more engagement and utility, Gift cards, Top ups. Users market, though it might be difficult to regulate.
Internal crypto wallet with option to exchange (swap) would be a good addition.

That could be unaffordable expense but being able to send and receive emails from other providers within the app to a personalized utopia email address would have been great.

There are options for using proxy in app but I was not able to get log into on my office internet where there's a web filtering to stop mining related sites. Options to access the server using proxy on login would be good.

657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: December 02, 2023, 01:44:07 PM
Australia and the cricketing world should remember that it wasn't some useless ICC event like the WTC finals or the ODI World Cup final.

It was the prestigious Paytm series and it's a pinnacle of the game of cricket. Hence the inspiring effort from The ICT team against the 2nd string opponents because they always bring their best in high-pressure and tough encounters.

Congrats team India!  Undecided Cry

That's quite some insult. Wink

Yeah, I understand that, but let's move on from that defeat and now focus on the T20 WC. As I said, India need to look out their bowling strategy a lot, especially grooming part-time bowlers.

Even in this series Jaiswal and Tilak Varma could have been tested with few overs, but they didn't do that is what become questionable and stuck with only bowling options when needed.

T20I world cup is where all of the full/A teams meets to decide the world champions.
Whatever team people may call it but they were some entertaining matches with close contest and good performance from both the teams.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: November 28, 2023, 04:02:02 PM
Today Australia team is best in terms of bowling performance as India lost 2 wickets in power play. Australia team has more chances to win today because if they can keep India under bowling pressure then there is a chance to win. Ishan Kishan, who is currently out, hit the ball directly and gave it to the player of the Australian team. Ishan Kishan should have left this ball or be patient and could have stood at the crease. Currently the Indian team is under a lot of pressure in terms of wickets as 2 wickets in 3 overs are just 26 runs.
This ICC competition which is between India squad and Australia squad has started a few days ago and two matches of this competition already played on crease. We are all know that these matches are being played just as a practice match and do not take a serious emotion about their performances in these matches. Best of example for those who think that India squad is much stronger than Australia squad by examining of their performance, these guys see the result of last match of World Cup Competition. BTW, India squad finished their batting inning already and they made a very hard and thrilling defending target to Australia squad. Let's see Australia squad will defend this challenging target or not.

It's another large target produced by the Indian team which still lacked a good number of regulars while Australia's team more regular than the Indian one.
Australia as always is trying to put up a good fight but as of writing they were performing well but fall of three wickets in three consecutive overs have now put them on pressure.
With India giving scores of extra and magic man like Glenn Maxwell still in crease, it ought to be a good game till the last ball or the last wicket. It would be more interesting to further watch the series if both teams still had the chance to win it.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with crypto because taxation makes no sense? on: November 27, 2023, 05:31:09 PM
Taxation is a topic that often comes up when it comes to someone winning anything in gambling.
The so called "nationally licensed" providers will usually automatically get a cut from anyone's winnings whenever they win anything.

And let's be realistic, we all know the drill with gambling. Most gamblers are not in the green and those that persist do it for the thrill of it, not to earn from it. So when you win, it's usually from your own bank. But whenever someone is lucky enough to catch a break, governments will slip in and take their share. Regardless if you've lost more than you've earned in total for instance. The irony on this matter is also that gambling wins are used to substitute how many taxes these state "licensed" casinos have to pay. So the whole subject of gambling taxation is unfairly structured towards the player.

Moreover, in many countries, filling out the forms to get taxed can be a nightmare. For winning 100$ for example, you will have to pay a big chunk of it to an accountant to find how it should be taxed. Bureaucracy is a whole other debacle in and of itself.

I'd imagine that many people actually chose to gamble with crypto to avoid these restrictions and bureaucratic procedures. It really makes no sense to go through all these troubles to tax a small winning amount. Still if someone happened to win a large amount on a small bet by chance, I'd imagine some people would want to tax it so they can spend it in the real economy as fast as possible.

I'm one of them. The authorities in the jurisdiction I live have no expertise to track whether I'm gambling through crypto or not and how much. The thing is crypto gambling online is still a grey area. I need to pay taxes withdrawing from a gambling site to my bank and pay when I withdraw from exchange to my bank. But if I don't use the bank they get nothing.
They might have my IP logs of visiting the site but they can never prove anything and haven't tried it with anyone. The only downside is one day they may block the popular ones from the internet and VPN are not allowed in many sites.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: November 27, 2023, 03:11:00 AM
There are some old people in my family which are paying cricket fantasy games. They usually talk about the games and their performance is matches almost daily. It is obvious that if any younger guy in family will listen about this, he will also be eager to know more about this. How can I stop the younger generation in my family being carried away by this and focus on other important things like studies only ?

There are a lot of things that may induce interest of Gambling to a kid be the motivation be in your house or not. And not all gambling are the same. It's a good idea to restrict your kids from gambling as it's easily addictive. You can prevent them from gambling by limiting their financial reach and planning their schedule. Don't give them your cards and provide them pocket money just what they need.
As well kids should be taught about responsible gambling from early age be it on often overlooked fair games. Games played on fairs are where children start their first gambling. Sooner or later they would be introduced to gambling, it's better to develop them to make the best decision for themselves.
