I don’t think anyone is planning to use a cybertruck as a boat. It’s just a cool feature that shows once again how far ahead of the competition Tesla is.

Competition: makes and sells electric pickup trucks
Elon: tweets about an electric pickup truck that can also be a boat even though no one is planning to use it as a boat

Yeah I don't think that's "ahead". If I tweet about a space ship slash submarine, that doesn't make me "ahead" of SpaceX.

I almost didn't even bother to put it in there thinking I didn't have a chance!

You didn't really have a chance, I would have taken him but Hollywood went down so I had to move my WR claim up instead.

Everyone else is stacked with RBs up to their eyeballs.

643  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: October 19, 2022, 06:13:26 PM
After Putin succeeded in annexing Ukrainian regions and holding a referendum in them, there are reports in the pro-Ukrainian media saying that the Ukrainian army succeeded in retaking large parts of these regions. This was accompanied by silence from the Russian side to comment on the matter.
Is it possible that the news is true or is it only for media consumption as the two parties are accustomed to doing?

There isn't really much disagreement as to which territories are under Ukrainian or Russian control. See https://liveuamap.com for example.

Ukraine did take large parts of territory back. Also Russia never had control of some of the territories it claims to have annexed. Russian side wasn't really silent about it, although it used euphemisms - e.g. "regrouping" instead of calling it a loss, or a retreat.

Does not matter if it's a cybertruck or a bunch of logs tied together to make a raft once it's above a certain size and weight and is floating in open water you better have a hull number, life vests, flares and so on. And don't forget the proof that you took a boater safety class.

This talk about props and hubs sounds like they're thinking of selling a "boat package" for $25k extra and as part of that they could throw in some life vests too. But I would like to see an insurance quote on a vehicle that can "briefly" serve as a boat LOL

The idea is dead in the water, pun intended, like most of Musk's stoned tweets, but CT desperately needs PR now that actual electric trucks are on sale already.
645  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: October 19, 2022, 03:35:58 PM
Oh, well now it's crystal clear, why didn't you just say that earlier...only minor detail left is to define levels of shitheadness. At what level of shitheadness should Article 111 (UA Impeachment) should be enacted (if ever) and at which you can just wipe your ass with the constitution because US cookies showed up on the streets? Yep, sounds like a totally legit democracy.

Yanukovich fled along with some members of his government. Rada passed a law declaring him unable to fulfill his duties and set a date to elect his replacement.

Impeachment is essentially a trial for a crime. Yanik would have been eligible for this process if he didn't run away. He could also veto the law if he didn't run away. He basically resigned by running away and abdicating his duties.

There are similar processes in other countries, whether explicitly in the law or implicitly via other tools (e.g. the ability of the legislative branch to set election dates). For example in the US there is an impeachment process and there is a separate process in the 25th amendment to remove an incapacitated president.

I'm sure you know all this, but if the story about Ukrainians being cookie addicts who elected a new Rada years before the 2014 events to orchestrate a cookie coup makes you feel better - carry on Grin

Then it's about you. If you say "Maybe sockpuppeting and lying about it and blaming others is the Bitcointalk way", then what are you, are you not a "reputable" Bitcointalk member as well, like Royse777?

It's not about me either. And the longer you act like a trust system troll, the longer my red tag will stay on you.

Edit: grammar.
647  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: October 18, 2022, 01:47:55 PM
Place your bet on what people would do once the trust for govt is low, and fiat is inflated as hell in recession. Where they'll put their money into?

Socks and (under) mattresses.

I know, not the "correct" answer but that's how people act. In the previous recession interest rates were ridiculously low and housing prices crashed so there was an option to buy real estate. Not sure if that's going to be the case this time around, probably not. So it's just socks and mattresses and an occasional jar in the backyard. For those lucky few who have money left over from buying food.

No one outside of a small group of nerds will think "oh everything's crashing and burning, let's buy bitcoins".

My "Hunches" are always on the money.

If you had a hunch - or better yet proof - about naim027's sockpuppeting, ban evasion, lies, etc then you should have made your trust rating about that and it could be perhaps useful to someone. Red trust for being banned is useless. And deleting/reposting your rating is borderline spam.
649  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: October 18, 2022, 01:15:43 AM
Well you two got me convinced what an ingenious idea, after giving it more thought, why have a general elections in Ukraine at all?

Then it'd be like Russia and that's not a good thing. Instead Ukraine kept having elections even after one of their presidents turned out to be a massive shithead and that's a good thing (the elections, not the shithead).
650  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: October 17, 2022, 06:24:47 PM
I might be wrong though. Maybe sockpuppeting and lying about it and blaming others is the Bitcointalk way.

Just maybe... Here's one who at least asks some honest questions, but on the other hand if you think you have a duty to make it better, you have tools that you can use such as red tagging someone for what red tagging is meant to be. If you want to check a counter example of what a good use of a red tag is, you just have to check my profile for the red tag you left me  Grin

This is not about you. Nor do you have any standing to lecture about the trust system.
651  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Biden mentally OK? on: October 17, 2022, 03:39:48 PM
You take it for granted that the Republican nominee is going to be Trump? I hope it will be someone like Ron deSantis, who I don't know if you would consider a Trump apprentice. He certainly doesn't lack personality.

I can't see how Trump's ego would allow him to not run. And if he runs I can't see anyone being insane enough to run against him in the primaries. I mean anyone who cares about their future in the Republican party. Someone like Liz Cheney might have a go at it Smiley

So yes, I'm reasonably sure he'll be the nominee unless something catastrophic happens.
652  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: October 17, 2022, 02:22:39 PM
Regardless how many times you continue to repeat that, facts will continue to prove otherwise. Good luck trying to fool everyone and pretending as if Ukraine didn't pick a pro Russian president in 2010 who US/Europe and the world acknowledged (before cookies showed up 4 years later [surely pro EU president would've won next, US brought cookies to the coup cause they just couldn't wait whole 11months for a legal peaceful transition Roll Eyes])

Ukraine elects a pro-Russian president: "picked"
Ukraine elects a non-pro-Russian president (after the aforementioned ran away): COUP! COOKIES!

Despite the actual facts (not Kremlin fantasies) - like the laws Yanik tried to push through - that point to him being a wannabe-Lukashenko and trying to create a puppet totalitarian shithole for Putin.

But how could Ukraine not want to be like Belarus. Unimaginable.

debunked accusation

That was my initial impression too but it turns out that at least part of it is true.

ChiBitCTy coming back!!! 126.44   vs.   Hueristic's Barbarians  124.10

Every time Hurts is throwing to AJ you must be punching your TV Grin

Luckily for you he didn't do that on this last touchdown so you still have a slim chance.

And many more users, I do not have a list in hand and I can not remember all of them.
Then I'm totally confused now why this was such a big deal with 5 pages of cover up.
I appreciate you read the last long post, I don't expect you to read everything from this too. Here is the straight answer of your simple question.
"...with the ruined situation of my personal account especially not wanting to deal with the two specific members anymore, I decided to keep it disconnected from my personal account so that I could focus on the project only. "

I understand this as the initial motivation. I don't understand the cover up when you got outed. That was the time to say "yep, it's me, not really a secret because many more users know this" and move on. You knew at that point that this secret has no chance so what was the plan?

And yes, I misunderstood the posts of some other users earlier in the thread... I thought they were saying "we know who CC is and it's not Royse777" but actually they were just playing along with your charade. So you didn't deceive them as I initially thought. You just deceived everyone else.

For someone that was caught in some shaddy deal with the devil and hot yo see the light only after the devil had robbed her of her time, money and reputation, I think the person still deserves a second chance to life on the things he loves. I think Royse777 has done her bit of explaining and having her confidentiality in a few with hopes of rebuilding a lost reputation could be given a benefit of the doubt, looking at the other many reputable members involved.
Most of what the cryptocurrency is about revolves around trust and privacy, with confidentiality not making much sense to us, where then do we stand in issues of privacy.

One who suspects something shaddy has got to speak up anyways but I can't help but have a soft core for Royse777.

Well, see above. According to Royse777, everything and everyone is wrong except Royse777. Benefit of the doubt usually comes with remorse and humility, which is severely lacking here.

Anyway, let's backtrack a little bit. If I was considering investing in whatever this CC project is I would surely want to know who is involved in it. Wouldn't you? So we could find a lot of reputable members linked to it but one important member was hiding. That's kinda sketchy in its own right. Then it turns out it's Royse777, recently involved in a scammy casino. I would consider this whole scheme very dishonest and deceptive.

And that's me - someone who didn't really consider Royse777 guilty in the BitLucy debacle. Now imagine if someone thinks Royse777 is a scammer and they get deceived by the presence of all these reputable members in the CC project and put their money into it, only to find out that a scammer (in their view) is involved and said reputable members hid that information.

I don't think that's right. I don't think that's how you rebuild reputation. I think being honest is how you rebuild reputation.

I might be wrong though. Maybe sockpuppeting and lying about it and blaming others is the Bitcointalk way.

And many more users, I do not have a list in hand and I can not remember all of them.

Then I'm totally confused now why this was such a big deal with 5 pages of cover up. How could you possibly not have seen that trying to keep a secret that was impossible to keep (given the number of people involved) would backfire and make you look like you're scheming something fishy.
657  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: October 16, 2022, 03:57:38 PM
I don't understand the logic of not disclosing your sockpuppeting to people involved in the project but disclosing it to outsiders, if I correctly understand what's happening here.
Pardon if I am confused now. Are you telling the CC team members and former escrow team did not know who is forum account Casino Critique?
If that's you got then you have wrong information.

Who are all those who knew it?

Begs the question -- who's next. Kamala? She wishes.

It's gotta be Hillary. Both candidates could replay their greatest hits from 2016. Her e-mails!!! It'd be epic.

Do you think Gavin Newsom might be next? I think it might be him or Hillary. Kamala will be very bitter.

With Newsom they might actually have a chance. Obviously he's done enough shit to fill Republican negative ads 24/7 for two years, but at least he's not a mumbling stumbling grandpa and could make Trump look even more stupid than usual.

Which is to say no, Democrats will not pick him. He'll be slammed as left coast communist in their own primaries. I can already imagine anti-Newsom ads with burning wildfires and LA homeless camps.
659  Economy / Reputation / Re: Royse777 is Casino Critique on: October 16, 2022, 01:55:05 PM
It's really sad to see people getting caught red-handed doing something shady and continuing to argue it on "procedural" grounds. It doesn't matter how offended or betrayed you feel, Royse777. Not in this context anyway.

I don't understand the logic of not disclosing your sockpuppeting to people involved in the project but disclosing it to outsiders, if I correctly understand what's happening here. Regardless of how it leaked, I'd be pissed if I had any dealings with CC and didn't know that you were CC.

Now it sounds that you're not regretting your own behavior but the fact that you got caught, which is what scammers tend to do.
660  Other / Meta / Re: Having an "I solemnly swear / attestation / liar liar pants on fire" thread on: October 16, 2022, 03:32:56 AM
Although, maybe I'm underestimating how often people would enjoy putting each other to the test and saying "Oh really, why don't you post that in the pinocchio thread?" Smiley

Yeah I think there is not much of a benefit in doing something like that.

Staked addresses are useful for e.g. recovering an account or some other proof of identity. Staked truth (or lie) doesn't really benefit a truthful person and surely doesn't benefit a liar.

BTW tagging, let alone banning, for lying - not something we need IMO, unless that lie has broader consequences causing "high risk" in trading with the person. Which is a whole other thing beyond the scope of such thread and again, slim chance that "criminals" would incriminate themselves in said thread.
