641  Other / Meta / Re: Campaign Managers and Bots. The main reason for the SPAM. Solutions? on: August 31, 2018, 10:41:40 PM
There's nothing stopping you or anyone leaving negative feedback for anything they want. The idea of a group was to make it more impartial like having some sort of jury and if the majority or all agree the campaign gets warned first and then negbombed if nothing changes. I don't think it should be left up to one person to decide though and I certainly don't want to be that person hence why I proposed there be a team to police them.
Oh you cannot be serious on this one... A jury on bitcointalk? That will never be any good. So long as people have egos here, the jury is going to be dead in the water even before it starts. The supposed jury may go ahead and give negative trusts but as far as bitcointalk's history is concerned, things go awry after a while. Also, you're asking for users to spend their time on doing something, that'll have no gain for them whatsoever.

I did, but I removed it after a while. I recently left negative on ElonCity due to the absolutely ridiculous amount of copy and paste bots and farmers that had been permabanned baring their signature. I was banning a dozen a day at one point and have probably banned upwards of 100 from that campaign alone. This can't be acceptable. Signatures on these campaigns should be blacklisted because negative feedback or bans don't stop the members from posting while the campaign is banned.
Didn't you neg sylon too? If I recall correctly, I think I once saw him bearing a negative, possibly from your main account? I could be very delusional but idk.

Perhaps global mods can have the ability to blacklist or whitelist signatures? Perhaps?
642  Other / Meta / Re: Expiry date for topics? on: August 31, 2018, 10:32:08 PM
Should there be an expiry date for posts, after which the are locked or archived?
Archiving can be a good idea, its there on reddit, and it could be a possible option that users could have, but then again most users don't even bother to lock the topics. I feel this isn't a big enough "issue" that needs to be prioritized on, but it is what it is. Your suggestion, even though it is a decent one unlike crappy "merit ruins lives" types of suggestions, is going to be ignored. Its sad, and its true.

I see this topic has already gone off-topic. Way to go fuckers.
643  Other / Meta / Re: Does bitcointalk cause more spam with their rules? on: August 31, 2018, 10:26:51 PM
OP, I don't think Theymos wants to do away with signature campaigns.  They bring in a lot of traffic to the site, and I suspect this forum would be dead without them.  It's sad but true.  One good thing about them is that they bring in a lot of people into the world of crypto who might not have been interested in it had they not been given the chance to earn money here.  It's true that most of them shouldn't be here, but the net effect on the bitcoin economy is positive (I think).
Have you forgetten the number of times people have applied for chipmixer, and provide a legacy address even when its clearly stated that segwit is a must. Have you forgotten the number of times people have caught abusing campaigns by making the same mistake over and over again, and sending all money to one address, or use addresses that belong to the same wallet(which is verifiable on walletexplorer.com). So no way in hell, have campaigns had a positive effect on bitcoin. And the fact that these people don't even understand what bitcoin is, or how it works, makes it even worse.

Signatures aren't going to be removed, this is only going to be a last resort to combating spam. There are so many suggestions that have been made, but none have been worthy enough to make theymos implement immediately whilst not restricting members to participate in campaigns.
644  Other / Meta / Re: My thread got trashed without a notification and without a reason. on: August 31, 2018, 10:07:41 PM
Was it within your last hundred posts, if so you can do what I do and go here to find it? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=drafts
Drafts only save a week's work, its limited only to hundred.

I suppose that product id could be mistaken for profile id or something similar, although they could see that it was bitmain and they don't often give out referral links.
Its a possibility, but maybe someone reported it?

Hilariousandco might be able to shed some light on who deleted it. Although I doubt the actual moderator will come. I think it won't be gmaxwell as he moderates the alternative clients section quite well. Could be one of the other two though...
It's not strict moderation, it's deleting most of the posts at this rate!
Hilariousandco won't be able to tell,AFAIK. Last time when something had happened in the mining section, theymos said it wasn't -ck, nor Frodocropper. Maybe this time too its the same mod who deleted the posts last time? Maybe?
645  Other / Meta / Re: I demand to know which Mods are deleting my posts. on: August 31, 2018, 11:31:02 AM
I do not tolerate censorship in this regard whatsoever. Your response is to accuse me of 'bumping' threads ... please ...

Now I quietly go and sit back down.
You may not like it, but making multiple posts is what you did. And those posts were quotes of your previous posts and that is somewhat considered to be bumping. Things like these aren't considered to be ethical around here, especially in ANN threads, it's considered as shilling but better wait for theymos to address this issue to you.
Who said it was a mistake? Whether it was or wasn't depends on the context and the threads they were posted in.
Last time it was a mistake but like you said, it depends on the board it was posted in. This time it was altcoins announcements board. It wasn't off topic but it was multi posting with  difference of one minute between posts: http://archive.is/3MH5D
HostFat might not even have authority/ability to remove them. It depends what board they were posted in.
Hostfat doesn't have the ability, so that possibility is removed.
646  Other / Meta / Re: I demand to know which Mods are deleting my posts. on: August 31, 2018, 10:17:50 AM
This is the 3rd time in the past month that someone has complained about a mod deleting the on topic posts? OP, which board did you post that topic or post(also do tell which thread it was) in?

Theymos, are all these actions caused by a specific mod or is it all coincidental and perhaps a mistake?
647  Other / Meta / Re: Campaign Managers and Bots. The main reason for the SPAM. Solutions? on: August 31, 2018, 12:12:37 AM
Is there anything that prevents current DefaultTrust from leaving negative feedback on managers that create spam?
Yes. Trust system isn't meant for that apparently. Otherwise we would have seen hilariousandco sending his deepest regards to sylon.  Roll Eyes

I don't get it, how will you stop managers who accept shitposters by giving them negative trust? They will bitch about it for a while, leave retaliatory feedback, and then they would go back to doing what they did before. Or they'll start doing the same through another account. People will easily get opportunities to manage shitcoin bounties.

And also, please do not involve trust system into this. There'll be repercussions, says the psychic in me.  Sad
648  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Piedpipercoins & Piperchain = SCAM on: August 30, 2018, 10:58:33 PM
These two "projects" just might be a mock to the real Scam ICOs. They don't have anything mentioned about the ICO. But you gotta love all the easter eggs and the quotes. In PiedPiperCoin's ANN thread:

$PPI Purpose: this is what you came here for. Here’s the meat and the potatoes. This is the skeleton in the body. The is the starving virgin (No, this is not a Vitalik reference). $PPI will be the first meme-serious coin. We will continue to have a lot of fun with the community and meme it up. But we will have serious utility. Okay, it’s getting hard to stall this now. We are going to fork a platform to allow developers to build dApps and tokens on #PiperChain. The current candidate platforms for forking are: NEO, IOTA, EOS and XLM. We are now looking to support eight developers to build dApps on #PiperChain. Tokens & dApps we are looking for include: LGBT-exclusive dating app, gaming apps and community tokens   They will be known as the #OctoPipers, apply → https://[Suspicious link removed]/forms/u4B1Z7QwKlHg0OTu2

#HailSatan #WenPalapa #WenTesla

And then this in piperchain.io website:
Quote
PiedPiperCoin strives to achieve the true dream of a cryptocurrency user: Sitting in a Palapa, reading the Satanic bible, they look up to take a glance at their beautiful Tesla Roadster, a SpaceX rocket can be seen approaching the Moon in the distance.

The love for Satan is very appealing here.

BUT.....

They stole the Lambo idea from Hilariousandco:

649  Other / Meta / Re: Copper membership on: August 30, 2018, 10:21:34 PM
So you're asking if you make partial payment now and later on you'll send the rest, you can do that. If I recall correctly, the address that is shown on that page is only meant for your account, so as soon you send the right amount of bitcoin, you'll be eligible for copper membership. But you'll only get the copper membership after you pay the entire fee.

Read this properly:

By popular demand, newbies can now pay to have some of their restrictions lifted. If you pay the fee, you become a Copper Member, and you can post images. That's the main point of this: allowing newbies to post images. Additionally (and these might change depending on how things go), Copper Members currently have these bonuses:

- Some of the same permissions as Member-rank members, such as reduced signature styling restrictions. (But none of the PM-related restrictions are currently lifted, such as the style limit or per-hour PM limit.)
- Your "you must wait ____ seconds between ___" counter is reduced by 75%. So if you're naturally of Newbie rank, you only have to wait 360-75% = 90 seconds.

If you paid an "evil IP" registration fee, then whatever you paid (in BTC terms) is subtracted from the upgrade fee. If you paid a registration fee a long time ago, you might even get a free Copper Membership due to the increase in BTC price. Just visit the link at the bottom of this post to check whether you have it already.

I am aware that for most people the benefits of this membership are pretty lame. This membership is only intended to fill a specific niche; if you don't need it, don't buy it. It is not intended to be the lower-cost Donator/VIP alternative which I've talked about before as a possibility.

I wrote the system so that I can easily add additional paid memberships in the future, but I might not ever do so. Not sure.

You can buy it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promote
650  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Lauda, MinerJones, Blazed | Missing escrow funds on: August 30, 2018, 09:50:51 PM
an other problem is that people get exhausted. Exhausted because you have to try and try and try. but nothing happens. what should i do now? does it change anything if i am asking the same question every day? will i get an answer this way? i expect an answer. and i dont think that something will change. the escrows will get away with it and the so called devs too.
Welcome to bitcointalk. Here you mostly never get answers and you'll ignored 90% of the time. It may seem sad, but that's how things here.

People abuse bounties for a living.

I apologise about Navl_027 pugman, he is a Filipino and Filipino can't really avoid calling other people usually strangers a "Sir". It's a way of respecting other people here and we Filipino are used to it. Actually I was also like Navl_027 before who repeatedly call anyone Sir/Ma'am, but someone scared me that I can get Negative Trust for calling anyone Sir or Ma'am  Grin Sorry for the off-topic OP.
You should stop apologizing too  Tongue. You don't have to apologize for him, nor does he have to apologize. My post was just a mocking way to show how things are done here. I wasn't mad at him.

Actually I was also like Navl_027 before who repeatedly call anyone Sir/Ma'am, but someone scared me that I can get Negative Trust for calling anyone Sir or Ma'am  Grin Sorry for the off-topic OP.
Yep, I read one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3102939.msg32039704#msg32039704

I called you sir because I only want to show respect especially to a high-ranked member like you, that's all.  I'm not aware that you don't want to be called that way, I'm sorry.
People respect me here? WOW. Its all too funny.

Anyhoo, here's out it goes: If you respect someone, you don't have to call them by "Sir"/"Ma'am". Its good thing that you respect people, but in forums, people get irritated by those words, and here's why: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3081595.msg31783432#msg31783432

And, don't apologize for using a particular word, makes you look weak(in forums). Don't combine your IRL lingo with forum lingo. Also, rank doesn't matter, not even a bit.

ALSO, people have usernames(which can be assumed as nickname) here, so you don't want to call someone with a nickname with Sir or Maam. The words Sir, or Maam usually come out due to the age difference aspects. Don't think like that, just assume that all of us here are dumbass nerds sitting in their mom's basements, spending hours on trying to improve a spamfest forum, and live with a family that doesn't understand how bitcoin works.

Sometimes when I'm addressing someone, I use mr/mrs or using @username.
You don't have to use Mr/Mrs either. Just call everyone a stupid fucker, or as TMAN says, a stink nugget.

653  Other / Meta / Re: License for bounty managers on: August 30, 2018, 08:58:41 PM
I don't think this place is struggling to survive at all. In fact, quite the opposite. The board continues to grow, but the majority of traffic and new users coming here are just shitposters looking to earn and it's certainly struggling to be a place that is actually useful for anything other than earning by spamming.
How can a forum survive if all good knowledgeable members leave and its only shitposters and bots that are left(with a few members here and there)? theymos himself said it, managing this forum is more than just a headache. Like it or not, the forum is getting worse by the day. And we are sitting here with our hands tied and not able to do anything about it.

Delegating workload would have a huge impact, and I'm not sure why things haven't been done already. I'm not just talking about making new admins either. Most sub boards need their own dedicated mod and this is something I've been requesting for years. More staff should be added as well to help with the clean up. If some users can spend hours upon hours reporting tens of thousands of posts then they'll probably make a pretty good staff member and they can then handle these things themselves without having to waste time reporting them which in turn just puts more pressure and stress on the current staff. New staff members and sub-board mods could be made/assigned with the click of a few buttons for theymos and this can be done today. If theymos doesn't have time to run things like the forum ad slots of respond to emails and restore accounts etc then this business should all be delegated.
It surprises me that there are only 26 staff members. In other forums(like reddit), there are like 8-10 moderators per board(subreddit). We need like 2 mods per sub-board, and one Global mod for entire board,if that makes any sense. It doesn't have to be a Global Mod, but a new type of mod just to handle an entire board, and helping other mods of that specific board.

We don't need more admins, but the admin power certainly could be little delegated. I don't think theymos will ever delegate things like running ad slots or responding to emails or restoring accounts. He'd be potentially putting a lot at risk.

What annoyed me the most about that is he didn't even put them into simple 'yes' or 'no' categories. He's smart and careful what he says so nobody can hold it against him and say, well you said yes to this or you would do that, or you said you would never do this etc, and at the same time he didn't commit to anything either so he doesn't have to do any of them at any point. My only solace is that he didn't actually outright slam them all with an exclusive 'no'. I'd really like to get his reasoning for why he is against some suggestions though, especially things like requiring at least one merit to become a Junior Member etc. That is essential in my opinion if we're not going to remove their signatures altogether and nobody else has really made a workable suggestion on how to stop or at least limit how we can prevent spammers and bots getting paid to post or copy and paste here. Hopefully he just thinks it needs tweaking etc rather than outright never doing it in some capacity.
theymos doesn't want to remove signatures, because he encourages people to earn from this forum, but he also said that people shouldn't shitpost to earn. I am starting to wonder if theymos gets pissed everytime someone says "theymos said this." "theymos said that."

It could be really annoying sometimes.

This forum isn't decentralised. There needs to be some minimal rules and they need to be enforced otherwise it is just chaos and disorder and the greedy and nefarious dominate over everything ruining it for everyone else. The forum can't continue on as it is or we might as well just rename/rebrand it shitcointalk or getpaidtopost.org because that's all this place has become. A forum for people just to post generic crap to get paid. 95% of people here don't care about contributing to a discussion, just churning out a mindless sentence of drivel then moving on to the next thread. Rinse and repeat all day over however many accounts you have. This can't be acceptable and is why there needs to be rules and regulations to make sure it doesn't happen and ruin the board in the first place making it unfit for its true purpose.
People think this forum is decentralized because one, it has bitcoin in its name, and two, it was created by satoshi. theymos, increase your standards, lighten things up a notch.

It is huge, and I'm glad it's here, but it needs tweaking. It stops people from ranking up by shitpositng but it does nothing about bots and spammers being able to get paid as Juniors. Requiring merit or removing their signatures would help with this. People also need to start giving out merit more and more merit sources need to be added. There's quite a lot of people making decent or even great posts that just go unmerited a lot of time and I think even decent posters will take a very long time to get to Hero or Legendary if they start from scratch.
How can you expect decent users to rank up especially when they make posts in the spamfest discussion boards. People come here to "talk" about bitcoin and that itself stops them from ranking up, and that is got to be a shocking but not so shocking truth.
654  Other / Meta / Re: License for bounty managers on: August 30, 2018, 03:31:58 PM
"What if?" What if we didn't allow ICOs to shit up the forum without repercussions? What if Junior Members couldn't even have a signature without earning some merit first? What if we didn't allow people to shitpost on 200 accounts? What if theymos actually started delegating workload between staff instead of ignoring the multitude of problems we have here? What if theymos actually implements just one of the hundreds of suggestions that have been made to improve the forum over the years? What if, what if, what if? Anything that requires any sort of effort by the admins or staff likely won't get implemented anytime soon if at all and we'll just continue to hide behind "freedom" and a laissez faire attitude. Well, when you let people do whatever they want this is what you get. Anarchy and mass abuse by people cutting corners to maximise profits for themselves whilst not caring about the damage they do in the process. The closest you'll likely get to your suggestion is enforcing the signature campaign guidelines we created. If a campaign comes here and is either lazy and/or incompetent then they should be given warnings and then punishments if nothing changes. If this happened then the culture would quickly change around here and campaigns would start doing their job because they can't afford to not be able to advertise here. As long as we let them get away with doing nothing then they will continue to do so. Nobody is going to do work that they don't need to, especially when running even a small campaign of 50 users likely amounts to the hours of a part time job. Some of these ICO campaigns accept anyone and have thousands of users on them and yet do nothing to police them and as such they are exploited by hundreds of bots and farmers that just exacerbates the problems. They don't care about that either because anyone who is wearing their signature is another person advertising for them whether they're shitposting, botting, or not. Until that changes then nothing else will change.
Honestly when people say r/btc is better than bitcointalk, I don't agree with them because there's a lot of FUD and other shit, but now I really think r/btc is better than bitcointalk, maybe I am being delusional at the moment, but bitcointalk is struggling to survive. People have to beg, and go to much lower levels to get tiniest of things done here. I don't want to blame the admins here, but they aren't doing so very well in delegating work.

This forum is also turning into a Battle Royal, to see who survives till the end. It would actually help if theymos can explain why some of the more important suggestions can't be implemented. Just saying 'no' gives us a blank feeling. It would be a long post, but at least then people will get why it can't implemented. People are living here in the dark.

Hello darkness,my old friend.
655  Other / Meta / Re: Application for a merit source on: August 30, 2018, 02:07:21 PM
A friendly bump.
Thanks bud, I don't really know if this helps or not.

@puggy: Seems like you yourself got tired?  Tongue
Its not a question about me getting tired, I have a messy overall schedule, and I almost keep forgetting that I have responsibilities here as well. I wish I have more than 24 hours in a day.   Undecided

I honestly don't know where this is going, I feel the entire point of this application is a waste, I appreciate everybody who has supported thus far, and thanking them isn't enough I feel, but I don't really see theymos doing anything about this. But I am not ready to give up on this yet. I still want to help people, and I'll try what I can do best.

It's very disheartening that I don't have a single merit since I joined this platform. Is there any other ways of earning it aside from actively participating in forum discussion?
Yeah if you have a post history like this, almost don't ever expect to get merit. You don't have to write long passages to get merit, just make posts better than everyone else, make posts that have better content every other user, and people will start noticing you,and merit will follow. Don't post to get merits, post to share content, knowledge, and humor.
656  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Lauda, MinerJones, Blazed | Missing escrow funds on: August 30, 2018, 01:34:36 AM
i dont care about the money
Yes you do, you wouldn't be here if you don't  Roll Eyes
telegram is full of messages that you get XX.XX$ and that this is more than you have invested. But in BTC you lost 55%.
Can you clarify this?
For example, if you invested 1BTC you should get 1BTC refund and forked coins. What is this $ nonsense?

Can you say, if it is not secret, how many bitcoins you had invested and how many bitcoins you will receive back?
From what I understand, the refund is not going to 1:1, because 60% was spent of development and other things. The remaining would be 40%+ forks which is ~60%.  This is the rate for the refund:

The final refund amount is 1,393.94415407 BTC[1], which correlates to the initial estimate of ~1400 BTC. The *official* timeline is as follows:

  • 1) Thursday, August 30 - Vote closes.
  • 2) Friday, August 31 - Snapshot[2].
  • 3) Saturday, September 1 - Refunds begin[3].

Notes:
[1] Once I have a total transaction fee estimate, this amount will be appropriately truncated at a certain decimal. This will also be mentioned in one of the following posts.
[2] The snapshot time will be random (i.e. exact time of day will not be announced) to prevent any adversary from gaming the system. Everyone is advised to remove any sell orders that you might have on the market and/or move to an appropriate wallet if necessary. If you own the private key to the address where your NVST is, then you are good to go. You, and only you, are liable in the event that you fail to adhere to adhere to this. The snapshot will be archived and a link to it will be provided to the public.
[3] The amount of time for all refunds to be processed can not be estimated. I'll be available every single day until this is completed, but each transaction requires another signatory. Every transaction will be created and verified manually. There is no room for errors.

Appendix:
1) The address 1HF9qmvVz6EMu5ihjkbstpBwAVb9jdm9Lh will be excluded from the refunds. On it are unallocated tokens which can't be distributed. This issue stems from a chain of events which led to essentially what I'd call, theft of both the NVO domain and the database. The amount on it is 449,660.58536489 NVST, which represents 2.9977372357659333% of the supply. The exact percentage of the refund balance, which is 41.78678295 BTC will be set aside until a solution to this issue is found. I have decided to not let this issue delay the refund.
2) Therefore, the amount of issued tokens is 15 000 000 - 449,660.58536489 = 14 550 339.4146. The amount of BTC that will be refunded over this amount is 1,393.94415407 - 41.78678295 = 1352.15737112. This represents a rate of 0.00009292961 BTC/NVST. Example ~ refund amounts:
1k NVST -> 0.09292961 BTC.
10k NVST -> 0.9292961 BTC.
100k NVST -> 9.292961 BTC.

Sir pugman was right, get used to it. Though it would be definitely much easier for us to have this "Notification" feature, we don't have any choice but to be contented on the things we currently have right now. That's all we can do (for now).

What I did everytime I want to know whether someone quoted my post is to visit my post history, click on my post (only those which belongs to meta threads, discussing serious matters and also arguments) and then scroll down to check. A laborious task but worth the effort because it enhances me for being a responsive member of the forum Smiley.
You called me a SIR? Out of everything else?

WHY? What did I do to you? I don't even manage campaigns man....  Cry
658  Other / Meta / Re: "Trust" system is shit !!! "Trust me !!!" on: August 29, 2018, 11:29:47 PM
I think there shoud be a voting system for DT members to survive each month .
You mean something like this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;suggest
No. I think he means getting a list of every DT1 and DT2 members (like this provided you have default settings) and voting who deserves to remain in the list. Ideally it doesn't sound like a crazy idea, but it would be extremely difficult to avoid abuse (creating or buying accounts to vote) and keep it objective.
That page I linked is outdated, it would be a fairly decent idea if theymos updates the list with all the DT members, and ask from users above a specific rank(preferably limited only to Full member and above to avoid too much abuse) who they trust, and the ratings of others to be based on that. By doing so the level of hierarchy would be avoided and there'll be no more "bullying" by DT1 members, but "bullying" by DT members will continue to exist.  Roll Eyes
659  Other / Meta / Re: Bounty stats by rank+possible security issue on: August 29, 2018, 11:20:15 PM
While i was going trough these campaigns I noticed one alarming thing, some of the managers are doing a poor job of protecting data. With data I mean emails of users, I found that 2 of 11 bounty campaigns did not protect sheets and emails of users can be easily copied.  This is alarming because emails in wrong hands could lead to hacked accounts, could this be the reason why there are so many hacked accounts constantly?

I do think that these managers should be warned and in case they dont listen - marked as untrusted members, i would not want to trust my data with someone who dont lock their spreadsheet.
Most of those emails are specifically made for bounty purposes. So even if they get hacked, they won't find anything useful in it. But still the campaign manager shitcoin manager should do his damn job well. I wouldn't be surprised if its ran by a kid/s.

No surprise that Jr. Members make up the bulk of them.  Decent, bitcoin-paying campaigns are generally shunning noobs at this point, which I think is an excellent thing.  The only way they can make money with their spamming is through these shady token bounties, and all it takes is 2 weeks before a brand new account ranks up to Jr. Member, so they keep creating them in bulk.  It makes me want to vomit, but we all know it's happening.
I don't think there's any bitcoin paying campaign that accepts shitposters. Bitcoin paying campaigns are mostly dry, only a few of them are there.

Jr. Members shouldn't be allowed to participate in bounties. They need to deserve that privilege than just freely abusing it. But then again, theymos doesn't listen to me, he doesn't like me either.   Undecided Cry

I think there shoud be a voting system for DT members to survive each month .
You mean something like this? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;suggest

There was poll for this back in 2015, and people wanted to keep the Default Trust, but at that time, DT was used for its original purpose. Now we see people getting tagged for things like, He called me a ".....".
Agreed that the "trust" system on this forum is all but pointless.

With a couple clicks through a profile and post history, its easy to decipher between who is trustworthy and who is not.

Take my "trust," for example, where I have been responsible for paying thousands of dollars out to forum members who have participated in a Campaign.

Some person I don't even know decides to tag me for "negative trust" for something I did more than 4 years ago.

Now, my "positive trust" become red negative.  Big deal; if anyone wants to really investigate into my character and history, I suggest ignoring the "trust" color/number and doing your own research.
You never had positive trust, your Trust Depth might have been set at 4. 2 is the Default Trust, where the ratings only by DT members are visible, and not the ratings given out by Non-DT members.
