641  Economy / Economics / Re: Which area will develop after the epidemic? on: August 04, 2021, 04:51:18 PM
The pandemic change the lifestyle of many people. Because of pandemic, many people become more aware about using new technologies and adopting cryptocurrency as a part of their daily lives. Cryptocurrency help people to sustain their financial needs during this pandemic and if this difficult situation ends, I think people will stay in crypto and it will also help our economic problem because it helps people to have a job at home.  It will develop more advance technology both for digital and medical use.

Have to disagree here. At least in my area, I haven't seen any boost received by the cryptocurrencies as a result of the pandemic. On the other hand, I would say that the pandemic did more harm than good to cryptocurrency. We had a few Bitcoin ATMs here and a few (handful) of shops that used to accept Bitcoin. The ATMs volumes have gone down and most of the shops remained closed for extended periods due to the lockdown. And ever since the pandemic started spreading, I haven't noticed any new ATM or a shop that accepts Bitcoin.

Did anyone made a bet in favor of Bangladesh for the first two matches? No one really expected them to go 2-0 up against Australia. The results are just shocking. Two consecutive defeats for a big three team against one of the minnows among the test nations. But the hints were already there. Australia's series defeat (4-1) against West Indies showed that the players are not in good form. Their batting is horrible, and their bowling is getting worse with each passing day. They badly needs the experienced players such as Cummins and Smith.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 04, 2021, 02:53:25 PM
Guys... Australia is at top now after their bowlers picked up some quick wickets. Bangladesh still need 55 runs and they have only 5 wickets in hand. The wicket of Shakib al Hasan was very crucial. It triggered a middle order collapse. Now the Bangladeshi batsmen are also struggling to face the Australian spinners (Zampa and Agar). Afif Hossain and the keeper Nurul Hasan at the crease now and they need to stay there till the end of the chase. If Australia can pick just one more wicket in the next two overs, then they will have a clear upper hand in this match.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 04, 2021, 02:11:07 PM
Before the series started we thought we would watch a one-sided series. We are watching a one-sided series, but not one-sided from the Australian side. We are seeing a new form of Bangladesh. However, it is not that Bangladesh is playing very well. I think the Australian squad is weaker. Apart from Marsh and Henriques, no other Australian player has been able to score properly. We have never seen such a weak batting lineup in Australia.

At least this time Henriques scored a few runs. Else Australia would have struggled to make a three digit total. BTW, Bangladesh is also struggling in the chase. They are 21/2 after 3.2 overs. Shakib Al Hasan is still there and he's looking good. But it will be a tough task for the Bangladesh batsmen to handle Josh Hazlewood. Mitchell Starc has picked up one wicket, but he is looking very wayward. The advantage is for Bangladesh, but for Australia still there is a small chance to come back in to the game, if their bowlers do well.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did you first hear about Bitcoin? on: August 04, 2021, 01:59:46 PM
I am one of those guys who didn't took Bitcoin seriously when I first heard about it. And this happened back in 2011, when Wikileaks started accepting Bitcoin as a payment method. And later that year, one of my friends offered me to pay in Bitcoin, but I refused. I got my first BTC almost 1.5 years later, by the end of 2012. I regret about two things - first one that I didn't took BTC seriously in 2011, and secondly because I invested so little amount in 2012. I got 5000x returns so far, but imagine what could have happened if I had invested a good amount when I first purchased BTC.
646  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How do you buy physical items anonymously with Bitcoin? on: August 04, 2021, 01:46:07 PM
I am looking to purchase items like collectibles of Bitcoin without revealing my address. I could get a escrow to middle man the deal but I am still giving away my personal information to someone that I do not know. Is there any services out there that allow auto forwarding of mail or drop off points which you can access without giving away personal information?

Once you convert a digital asset to a physical asset, the anonymity is lost. No matter what you do, you can never be 100% anonymous in such occasions. There are certain methods, such as ordering to a friends address, or through those who offer such services. But in none of the cases, it is 100% safe and actually this may lead you in to even bigger trouble. If you don't want to be seen purchasing collectibles using Bitcoin, then you can always convert your Bitcoins to digital gift cards (in an anonymous way) and then use these gift cards to purchase physical assets.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin solve the world's debt problem on: August 04, 2021, 01:34:08 PM
Governmental debt is possible only with fiat currency, as far as I know. When the government needs to take debt, they will issue treasury bonds or treasury notes, ranging from 1 year to 30 years, with a fixed interest rate. Once these bond/notes get to their maturity date, the due payment is made in fiat currency. Such a system is not possible with decentralized cryptocurrency, since government can't create currency out of thin air. It is the miners who create new coins and therefore the government can't issue bonds or notes with a fixed maturity date. And this is one of the reasons why the governments will never allow Bitcoin as a legal tender.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 04, 2021, 01:22:22 PM
Marsh is out. Australia lost 4 wickets for 99 runs. This wicket was very important for Australia. Bangladesh's spin bowlers as well as pace bowlers are performing exceptionally well. Australian players are having a lot of trouble batting on this pitch. It looks like Australia will provide a target of 122 runs.

When Marsh was there, I was thinking that the Australians would be able to get to a decent total. That is not going to happen now, because the Australian middle and lower order is in pathetic state. Ashton Turner and Matthew Wade at the crease now, and both have been struggling recently with the bat. Australia is having a very long tail, and that is definitely not going to help them. All credit goes to the Bangladesh bowlers (especially the spinners). It looks very likely that Bangladesh will go up by 2-0 today.
649  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian currency big problems on: August 04, 2021, 01:10:56 PM
It's nice to communicate with a person who was able to understand the "multi-moves" of the Kremlin "players", and build a cause-and-effect relationship!
In fact, the simplified situation in Russia is the seizure of power by a criminal group based on law enforcement agencies (FSB, Ministry of Internal Affairs, SVR, etc.) that monopolized the management and ownership of all the resources of Russia, the purpose of which is to sell everything that is possible and withdraw capital to " safe haven "- EU / US / UK, etc. At the same time, for self-satisfaction, to preserve total, almost feudal power over the people, keeping them in systemic information profanation, and explaining all the troubles with "external enemies" and "world conspiracies against Russia."

Putin came to power in 1999 and at that time a lot of people in Russia thought that he would be better than Yeltsin. And he managed to fool the ordinary Russians, at least during the first 10-15 years of his reign. All this propaganda, such as global conspiracy against Russia and NATO bases in former USSR states was a diversionary tactic, to deviate attention from the massive theft of natural resources that was taking place in Russia. By now, people seems to have realized his intention. No more than 30%-35% turn up for the elections (which are rigged anyway). Most of those who can't emigrate seems to have resigned to their fate.
650  Economy / Economics / Re: Libertarians built a Bitcoin economy in a small town, feds shut it down on: August 04, 2021, 12:58:15 PM
Does this surprise anyone? These guys are at the fault here and not the feds. Bitcoin is not a legal tender in the United States and each and every cryptocurrency transaction needs to be reported in the income tax return and should comply with the federal and state (New Hampshire in this case) regulations. Just because libertarians are a majority in a small village, they can't make rules on their own. If that is the case, then tomorrow some drug traffickers will move to ghost towns and then declare that cocaine, heroin and fentanyl are legal there. These things don't work. If they want to use Bitcoin, then it needs to be done in sync with the prevailing laws and regulations. Bitcoin is not banned in the US. The only thing is that you need to take the proper channels while dealing in it.
651  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid lessons learned know when to finish on: August 04, 2021, 04:52:05 AM
Since the existence of this pandemic, building a business is not easy,
besides that we also have to rack our brains to think about which businesses are still profitable in the midst of current conditions,
someone who has a tourism business is certainly dizzy and difficult to survive in current conditions

Even here a number of businesses have closed down, and some of them have put up advertisements for sale. And in my country the government was very supportive towards businesses and had distributed compensation and initiated tax breaks. If this is happening despite the support from the government, then we can imagine what will be the case in developing nations. It has been almost one and half years, since the lockdown was first imposed. For the ordinary people, savings have run dry long time back.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 04, 2021, 04:40:04 AM
Australia doesn't have experienced batsmen who can adjust quickly to surfaces that are more supportive to spin bowling. The absence of David Warner is really hurting them. But one positive here is that Mitchell Marsh is performing quite consistently for some time now (both with the bat and ball). Their spinners have also been in good form (Zampa, Turner and Agar). But they need to strengthen their batting. It won't be a bad idea to ask Marsh to open the batting (currently he is batting at no.3).
653  Economy / Economics / Re: In COVID-19 everyone needs motivation on: August 03, 2021, 06:42:32 PM
A year after this pandemic: As a newly college graduate, it is very hard for us to find jobs. Many competitors and only few jobs are now being available. In my country, we have the longest lockdown which happened almost a year and it sucks. No board exams = no license. No license No proper job no money. I'm lossing the motivation to continue with what ive started. No amount of youtube motivational talks is enough to recover from this year of torment.

This is definitely an issue. My friends in India are claiming that many of the companies don't want to hire students who passed in 2021. The colleges and schools are close for almost one and half years and in many cases even the exams are being conducted online. Under these circumstances, obviously there will be some amount of fraud in exam valuation. But the companies are now collectively punishing all the students, rather than blacklisting those who are suspected of rigging their final exams.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 03, 2021, 06:30:50 PM
True, we shouldn't address it as home advantage. Australia team management wasn't unaware about the condition of the pitch. But they know that Bangladeshi batsman can hardly chase the excessive fast bowlers. And they have Starc & Hazlewood in the squad. Starc has given much run today but he was able to create pressure on Bangladeshi batsman. Australian batsman should have played with more responsibilities. The second T20 will be interesting now. Australia will definitely try to get the victory in that match.

It is a 5-match series, and therefore there is no immediate danger for Australia. But their batting was just pathetic. If they can't chase a target of 132 against a team like Bangladesh, then I would say that they can no longer be considered as one of the stronger teams in world cricket. Recently they lost the T20I series against West Indies by a margin of 4-1. I don't know what happened to this team in T20 format. After all, they have the second most popular franchise T20 league in the world (BBL).
655  Economy / Economics / Re: On Cuba and economy on: August 03, 2021, 06:14:23 PM
^^^^ the so called "Russian" aggression is essentially an aggression by Putin. I don't think that ordinary Russian people have any enmity with the Ukrainians. In order to consolidate his power, Putin has ignited the issue of Russian speakers in the former-USSR nations. It is not just limited to Ukraine, but with the Baltic nations, Moldova (Transdniester) and Kazakhstan as well. The conflict in Donbass is essentially a fight between two groups of ethnic Ukrainians (one supported by the EU and the other supported by Putin).

That said, there is a strong chance that in the future Russia will be added to the European Union (sometime after Putin is removed from power). EU needs to expand to sustain itself, and the best option is to grow towards the east (Russia/Ukraine), rather than in a southward direction (Turkey/Morocco).
656  Economy / Economics / Re: On Cuba and economy on: August 03, 2021, 12:12:23 PM
In fact, it all depends on the people!

I talked with Cubans, and I came to an amazing conclusion - the Island of FREEDOM, and the population does not understand the essence of the word "FREEDOM" !!! For freedom, they essentially consider a half-slave existence, and the second idea is "the main thing is that the Americans should do evil" !!!

Any changes in this country can occur only in 2 cases:
1. A tough enough ruler will come, who will by force knock this crap out of their heads and force them to live as in civilized countries. It sounds somewhat contradictory, but this is one of the options for a quick upgrade of the brain and worldview.
2. They themselves will eventually come to this. It will take many decades. As the Jews were led through the desert for 40 years so that they would forget what slavery is, so from the heads of Cubans it is necessary to knock out "socialism with an idiotic face." This path is evolutionary, but very long and it is not a fact that they "did not receive an additional gene of socialist laziness and stupidity"

That may have been the case two decades ago, but the situation has changed drastically. Recently there were widespread protests in Cuba against the communist regime. That means that the people are no longer happy with the status quo. Spread of social media and internet has meant that ordinary Cubans are in touch with diaspora settled in other countries, and they know how life is in these countries. We already saw the common people rising up against the regime in Venezuela. Now the same is repeating in Cuba as well.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Olympics 2020/2021 : Discussion & Predictions on: August 03, 2021, 12:00:15 PM
The total number of medals is the same at the moment - this means that the US athletes were slightly less successful in the fight for gold, but the overall level is at least equal. I think the fight is still ahead and the US team has every chance to compete for the first place.

I would disagree with you here. It is the number of gold medals, which matter the most. Total number of medals may be slightly misleading, as the country sending a larger number of athletes have a good chance of winning more silver and bronze medals. The Americans sent the largest contingent (613 athletes, out of whom 158 in track and field). Being the hosts, Japan only sent 552 athletes to this edition of the Olympics. China only sent 402, far below the number sent by Australia (478) and Germany (425).
658  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian currency big problems on: August 03, 2021, 11:49:08 AM
You shouldn't think that it's about Putin ... Putin is just a projection of desires, an addict, the mentality of the population of Russia. Believe me - if he dies, is killed by his own "colleagues", or is overthrown by people - the next one who is not elected will be exactly the same usurper, thief, murderer, liar, denying logic, laws, principles and rules adopted in the modern developed and adequate world ... The thing is that everything that is listed above is considered almost heroism and greatness in Russia ... To understand, you need to go and live there, you will discover a lot of "amazing". And many things in their lives will simply go beyond logic for you!

How can you be so sure? Russian people have suffered enormously under both Boris Yeltsin and Vladimir Putin. It is not right to blame an entire community for their misfortune. I just hope that the next president will be someone who cares for the ordinary Russian. I have heard a lot of good things about Alexei Navalny. I have watched his interviews, and looks like he is just the type of guy Russia needs right now. Maybe one day they will have a fair election and someone who cares for them will be elected to the chair.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: August 03, 2021, 11:36:38 AM
I think if England sends a second-tier team against Bangladesh, they will win. The Bangladesh team is not in a good position now. Moreover, playing in the IPL is more effective than playing a series against a team like Bangladesh before the next T20 World Cup. The series against Bangladesh will be one-sided, on the other hand, they will get a lot of money in IPL and also get a chance to play with all the best players in the world.

England has the depth in player pool, so they don't need to worry much about the unavailability of the key players. And Bangladesh is not in a good state right now, due to internal issues. We don't have the exact schedule available yet, but it looks like the series between England and Bangladesh (3 T20I matches and 3 ODI matches) will be played after the T20 World Cup. The term used by the ECB is "postponed indefinitely". And it is not just because of the IPL. The COVID 19 situation in Bangladesh also might have contributed.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 03, 2021, 11:24:08 AM
Australia is not in great form at this moment, but the same can be said about Bangladesh as well. The advantage for Australia is that they are a well balanced side, while Bangladesh is overdependent on a few players. But I am not discounting the possibility of any upset. First of all, the format is T20, and on top of that Bangladesh has the home advantage. It is a five-match series and therefore it may be difficult for them to attain a series win. But I am sure that they can upset the Australians in at least 1-2 matches.
