641  Economy / Economics / Re: How will crypto go long term? on: May 02, 2018, 08:34:31 AM
What does everyone else think? Do you think the big fish will continue allowing us to do trading long term, or are our days numbered?

My opinion is that the "big fish" will continue to lose market power as cryptocurrency adoption grows. When more people learn about and start trading bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies, the centralization of trading to those big fish will end. This is good for us average Joes because the market will be less prone to manipulation. It will become more stable and more companies will use it and its value will increase further.
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8pin CPU to 2 x PCIe 8pin (6+2) ? on: May 02, 2018, 08:04:39 AM
I've been using those without problem for my Vega56s and 1080tis. I use them because, as you are experiencing yourself, they use double the amount of PCIE cables and regular PSUs simply don't have enough cables.

I've been running my mining rigs with these for more than 6 months now.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Looking for resources to learn about GPU mining on: May 02, 2018, 07:49:48 AM
Given that you mentioned you aren't looking for generic guides and you basically have your rig setup all setup already. You must be looking for advanced features. Consider reading articles about scripting. You could write scripts to monitor your entire rig and automatically calibrate overclock settings depending on temperature or other factors.

Scripts are especially useful if you have AMD VEGA GPUs which are known for instability.
644  Economy / Economics / Re: Study says being rich is determined by chance rather than intelligence or talent on: May 02, 2018, 07:14:50 AM
I would disagree with the original post article. Numerous studies have shown that a mix of determination and grit have a huge impact on a person's success. The case where intelligent people aren't rich is probably because those people don't make it a goal to have money or become rich. Some extremely intelligent academics pursue things that are valuable to them and in some cases this means devoting their life to research.

Intelligent people who want to become rich, will become rich.

primary information for antminer L3 ++ can be help me, it information?

Are you looking for specific information on this ASIC?

There is no L3++ and there is only the L3+. You can easily find the specs and other information directly from the bitmain website: bitmain.com
There is also a lot of dicussion on the L3+ here in the forums. Please just use the search bar.
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Third Quarter is coming on: May 01, 2018, 11:48:58 PM
The third quarter of the year is coming! What are your speculations about bitcoin and altcoins?

I believe most of the posts here are saying that cryptocurrencies will soon explode and "moon." My more conservative opinion though would be that the market will continue in an uptrend but won't be far from where we are today. I would be happier if the value of bitcoin and other altcoins, like Ethereum, rises slowly because i feel that gradual increases in value are healthier and are more resistant to shocks and crashes.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Am I in over my head? on: May 01, 2018, 11:30:29 PM
Congratulations on making the big move to crypto.

I wouldn't say it's too late to learn. The way you are mining is far from optimal and there is a lot more you can do to maximize your profits. Like what others have posted on this thread, try and move away from NiceHash. Directly mining coins is more profitable. You just need to find the right coins and make sure you have the most optimal overclock settings.

I envy you and wish i did the same a few months back but instead i invested in a smaller amount of GPUs. I made 100% ROI just this week and it would have been a larger amount had i invested more. Look on the brighter side, in a few months time you will be rollin' in it. Good luck.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.5.0 on: May 01, 2018, 02:47:21 AM
Switched over from CastXMR to SRBminer today and i love how it's more stable and it has a lower dev fee. Great job overall on the simplified console output as well.

However, my mining hashrates for my Vega56s are hovering around 1750-1800 compared to 1800-1850 when i was using CastXMR. I already have intensity set to 100 and dual thread turned on. Any tips on how to increase hashrate further?

EDIT: Found a problem with the auto restart on startup function: it disables/enables ALL GPUs in the system. I was hoping it would only restart the GPUs i specified in the config. It ended up restarting my other GPUs which were mining ETH.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ⭐️[ANN][ICO] TELLURIA - German reliability, European quality! 95% READY PRODUCT! on: April 30, 2018, 11:56:25 PM
Telluria provides all registered users the ability to receive additional passive income with the referral program. When a new user has registered, you are awarded with 20% of the commission for each transaction made by this user.

Wow this is great news. A 20% referral program can be really profitable when you really think about it. Imagine you refer someone who trades more than 10 btc daily. Assuming that the trading fee is 0.015% then that means you get 20% of that which results to 0.003 BTC per day. It's like you have a 2pcs of S9 Antminers mining bitcoin for you.

Looks promising for Telluria.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Satellite vs. Fiber/Cable Internet on: April 30, 2018, 01:18:01 PM
Hey dudes.  Cheesy

I am wondering if anyone has experience with satellite internet minining within the city. How is the signal reliability and latency?

They have not pulled fiber / high speed cable to this area yet. I'm only asking because listing agent mentioned this as we are looking for a warehouse.

I have no experience with satellite so hoping I can get some helpful opinions from ya guys.

Cheers!

We used to live in a part of a city where only "satellite" based internet connection was available. I was in college back then and wanted to play online games, sadly, i couldn't because the internet connection was unstable and i would very often get disconnected in the middle of games.

That being said, satellite should be fine for mining since mining isn't internet bandwidth or speed intensive.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is it posible to automaticaly switch between coins based on current difficulty? on: April 30, 2018, 07:18:29 AM
It's a risky proposition to switch based on difficulty swings.  A lot of coins use dark gravity wave for difficulty changes per block so you can get some wild swings in difficulty.  Plus, there could be a good reason why a coin is dropping difficulty... maybe a contentious fork, a total scam coin, fast-dropping profits, and lots of other scenarios.

This is probably why nobody has built an auto-switching tool based on difficulty alone.

To the OP, is there any specific reason you'd like to share with us as to why you think a difficulty-based coin/algo switcher would be better? I can imagine this could easily be implemented but still isn't done today for reasons listed by the quoted post above mine.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (HELP) Etash 1080Ti Failure to Launch on: April 30, 2018, 03:00:53 AM
You can download last Nvidia driver 397.31 from site. You can install new driver. When installing the driver, select expert mode and clean installation.

That's actually the first thing I did.   I just tried it again, no difference  Cry

Maybe try disconnecting 2/3 GPUs and try to see if it will mine with a single GPU? It could be a GPU hardware problem. Are the risers/connections/ good and is the power supply sufficient?

Other things i would consider doing:
1. Turn off antivirus.
2. Try mining a different algo using a different miner.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ⭐️[ANN][ICO] TELLURIA - German reliability, European quality! 95% READY PRODUCT! on: April 30, 2018, 12:12:12 AM
Who are your competitors?

Their competitors would probably the established exchanges like Binance, Bittrex, Poloniex, or even Kucoin. I can imagine it may be tough when Telluria first comes out because it's new and not much know about it yet so trading volume may be low. But eventually, once people start using this exchange they may realize how much better it is. I am confident that the Telluria team will do a good job and manage this well.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is $900 a realistic prediction for ETH by EOY? on: April 29, 2018, 11:37:29 PM
Although most people have already affirmed that Ethereum can defiintely reach $900 or more by End-of-Year, i'd also like to chime in and show my support for Ethereum. I also believe it will definitely rise more in value despite already being up from $300 to $700 from 1 month ago as of writing.

Why? As a developer i've been exposed to how easy it is to actually develop decentralized applications on the Ethereum blockchain and can see it's potential in changing the world. I'm no financial guru but seeing that it can do a hell of a lot more than bitcoin, it deserves much more than what it is valued at today.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: April 29, 2018, 12:57:27 AM
I have 6x Sapphire Nitro+ Vega 56, anyone knows why two of them can't reach hashrate of others?
https://prnt.sc/jbcymv

You will have to give us more information for us to help you. Some guide questions listed below should help:

1. Are you sure that you did overclock them correctly? Seems like they are at default clock settings.
2. Did you install the soft power play tables? This is a must for maximum profitability too
3. What driver version are you using?
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: (HELP) Etash 1080Ti Failure to Launch on: April 28, 2018, 09:38:02 AM
Windows 10-fully updated
New Nvidia driver
(3) 1080Tis of mixed brands

I normally use this rig for timetraveler or equihash but I wanted to give EthPill a try.  I've tried both Claymore 11.6 and 11.7 as well as Phoenix.  I can't get past the 2nd line on miner boot up before I get the Ethminer has stopped working pop up.

Any ideas what to look for or could be the issue?  I'm completely stumped.   Huh

Do you have afterburner turned on? From what i've read on the ETHlargment thread, you have to turn off any and all overclocking software before running the miner. Basically the steps are as follows:

1. start ethlargment
2. start miner
3. start afterburner (or other overclocking software)
657  Other / Meta / Re: More than 1000 merit abusers found here (clearly motivated) - red trust time on: April 27, 2018, 05:05:19 AM
How have you worked that out? I've given out hundreds of merits, and I've received hundreds. I'm sure that I have given merits to members who have also given merits to me. I haven't checked, and don't remember as the awards ween't linked.

But what are the chances that those users have given you merit back within one hour? The chances of two random users giving each other merit is already a big coincidence, but then doing it within the hour is very unlikely and very suspicious. I haven't looked through the results in the OP but if it works as stated it would be helpful to go through and manfully look for potential abuses for those that can be bothered or have the time. People will get wise to this though and just wait a day or two to return merit.

The chances may actually higher than you think. I believe time between merit isn't such a good indicator of abuse because legitimate people/accounts tend to give and return merits as a means of saying "thank you."

I understand it's not designed to work this way but some people will use the following logic:
gee thanks for the merit buddy, here let me return the favor and merit one of your posts as well.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cast XMR] high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s) on: April 27, 2018, 02:10:29 AM
Is this miner is exclusive for Vega or it can be use in other AMD cards specially the RX 400 and 500 series.. Because the title itself indicates that "high speed XMR/CryptoNight miner for RX Vega GPUs (2 KHash/s)"

You again with these type of questions eh? If it wasn't so obvious that you're trying to just increase your post count then people would probably accept you in the bounties you apply for. I suggest you learn more about the English language and how to think critically.

Anyway the answer to your question is clearly posted on the first page of this topic:

659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 12 GPU Mining Rig Keeps Freezing/Restarting on: April 27, 2018, 12:49:23 AM
Hey guys I recently built a 12 GPU mining Rig with Gtx 1070's but it keeps freezing on me when I start the mining. I have tried multiple things to try to fix it but I still can't Figure out. I thought it was the risers in the beggining but I tried mining with one row(6Gpu) and it worked then tried with the second row and it worked aswell but when they're together it either freezes or resets.

Program: Nicehash

My Specs:
GTX 1070

Asrock 110 Pro BTC+

16gb ram- I thought 8gb was enough but like I said earlier I just started different things and bought another 8gb so now I have 16gb

2 1300W PSU

8 GB of RAM is enough. I am in fact running the same 12-GPU rig of 1070s as yours using only 4 GB of RAM.

My suggestion to you is as follows:

1. Reset your overclock settings. You might be overclocking one or two GPUs in the 2nd row beyond their capacity. Not all GPUs are created equal.
2. Find and isolate the problematic GPU. Try to start adding GPU's from your 2nd row one by one and start mining. See which GPU causes it to fail.
3. Try running multiple instances of your miner. Copy paste your batch file and run 6 GPUs on the first mining instance then do the same with the remaining.
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ASIC MINER FOR ETHEREUM DISCUSSION on: April 27, 2018, 12:20:09 AM
Hi Guys and to all mining expert here, this past few weeks the Asic for Ethereum is the hot topic in all social networking site, now my question is, has anyone here using it right now? What is the difference of this ASIC to GPU mining? Is this practical to buy and use? Can we mine other coin using it?

Thanks I hope that we can make a very substantial discussion here... Because in my mind I consider to try it, maybe need more information to the users.

Your questions are pretty basic and they can all be answered simply by using google.

If you want "substantial discussion" then you should probably started by learning more about the ASIC then provide your opinion here. To help you get things started, my opinion is that the ETH ASIC is no longer worth it right now because of all the new risks associated with ETH mining; incoming switch POS, increasing difficulty, and in our country increasing electricity costs.

FYI, nobody is using it right now because it ships in July 2018.
