701  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: September 07, 2023, 08:10:15 AM
The new FIFA adoption that allows multiple countries to host the FIFA World Cup doesn't sit well with majority of football lovers even when the World football body are trying to be more inclusive in their policies and help many nations to brag of hosting the World Cup that comes just ones in every four years.
One of the reasons some fans aren't okay with the multiple hosting is the fact that every hosting country automatically qualifies to play in the competition making it difficult for other countries of the same continental association to qualify for the finals of the tournament because their number of a available slots will reduce

Isn't it strange that the defending champions (Argentina) need to play the qualifier tournament to gain entry to the world cup in 2026, while teams like Canada and Mexico don't need to go through the same? And these two nations are hosting less than 10% of the total matches (10 each, out of a total of 104), and despite that they are being granted automatic entry. I didn't had an issue with Russia in 2018 and Qatar in 2022, partly because only one team is being given direct entry. But 2026 is not like that. And 2030 seems to be even more complicated, given the South American bid.
Its not happening for World Cup, Argentina as defend national team after winning FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar must play in qualifier round there are not special placed get by them. Not first time but all national teams have winning World Cup need to play in qualifier round for next world cup except they will be host. Spain, Germany and France are national team winning last edition of FIFA World Cup but they must play in qualifier round and I don't its good ideas adapting in World Cup. For host of World Cup have special for them and qualify to World Cup without have to play in qualifying stage.

United State, Canada and Mexico will not take participant in qualifying round and they will automatically will play in World Cup 2026 because they are host in this edition.

I don't think that would be a greater problem as the number of teams are up from 32 to 48. Even though Canada, Mexico and United states are let in without qualifier, there are 14 more slots available than the last time. Increasing 16 teams at once means there would be 50% more teams than last time competing in this tournament. The tournament would last longer and there would be increased number of matches.
The idea of including larger number of diverse team are inline with creating a global tournament but how the people would react to the longer format is not clear yet. I personally believe 104 matches which are nearly double from last tournament would be fine as it's once in a 4 year event and everyone would attract larger viewership than last tournaments.

703  Economy / Gambling / Re: Using ToS against users normal? on: September 05, 2023, 01:32:57 PM
Changing of terms and conditions without notifying the users or gamblers is normal with online gambling websites? Then when you did something wrong or about to withdraw your money they will tell you that you don't read their terms and conditions, and you start arguing with them until you decide to read the ToS again and you find out that it's different.

Some gambling websites consist of wicked owners that willingly plan to defraud their users using the ToS against them, or is this normal? Have such happened to anyone on this forum before?

This has occurred a multiple of times. And it's difficult to blame just the casino for this legally and practically in case of legit and popular casinos.
Legally they put the term that they could change the terms without a prior notice. And for many, they should obey the demand of the authorities from the jurisdiction they belongs to.
Most casinos blocks people when they try to withdraw a large amount and it seems they want to confiscate the money just because it's a large amount and they want to scam the person. But in reality there are some red flags they need to investigate or found on either the source of the coins (dirty coins) or the hacking attempt by the user. For some it could be an attempt to mix coins for cheap and money laundering. Arbitrage is also selectively banned by some.
704  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 04, 2023, 03:28:23 PM
India vs Nepal

India won the toss and elected to field against Nepal. I thought India would win the toss and decide to bat. And will beat the Nepalese team by a big margin by providing a big target. Because Nepal is a relatively weak team.
Perhaps India captain Rohit Sharma took the fielding decision because the weather was not good. There is a possibility of rain. So he is not interested in taking any risk. He decided to field. And if the match is delayed due to rain, and the umpire decides to shorten the over
India won the toss and decided to bowl first in pallekele international stadium Sirlinka. It is amazing to see Nepal batting against India in the first powerplay scoring 65 runs with 1 loss of Kushal Bhurtel at 38 runs in just 25 balls with 3 Fours and 2 sixs. From India Ravindra Jadeja bowling well picking 3 wickets by just 25 runs in 7 overs. Now current score of Nepal is 125 runs in a loss of 4 wickets in 28.3 overs. Aasif Sheikh played an amazing performance scoring half a century against the top bowling line in India and playing at 58 unbeaten. I know Nepal is a weak team but if they set a 250-plus target then have a chance to win and qualify for the Super Four.
Nepal Bestman are trying their best to give India a tough target ,but India is a very strong team compared to Nepal and they are taking wickets of Nepal with their good bowling performance.M.Siraj and Jadeja took five wickets for Nepal with their good bowling performances.I don't think Nepal will be able to give a hundred run target to India.
Even if the Nepal team scored 300 runs against India, it was not enough. Because everyone knows that to play with an experienced team, opposite team must also gain enough experience. Nepal comparatively new team in cricket. If they can defeat a team like India in this Asia Cup, then they have won something bigger than winning the Asia Cup. I would expect today a competitive match from the Nepalese team and nothing more. If they can put India under a little pressure then it will be nothing less for them as their earnings are very small. India needn't take pressure to play against 230 runs.

It would have required extraordinary effort and luck for Nepal to beat a top team like India on their first meet. Whatever performance they presented were outstanding. Batting against India and getting to 230 means they could be a real competition in the future. Indian team looked slow and fat in comparison to Nepal team. I would have loved to watch Nepal field and bowl. It's sad that the rain ruined this match. I hope they would be able to complete the game with the use of DL.

706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoins that you will be hold till next Bull Run on: September 03, 2023, 11:57:22 AM
Although current crypto market situation is very disappointing. Investors also showing less interested investing in new coins even most of new coins are also shitcoins. Altcoins crypto market pumped a little, a month ago but still no impressive movement is found. Wel  During this situation, what are you thinking and how you preparing for next bull run?  Which Altcoins you are planning to be hold untill next bull run?

My choice of alt for long term holding is Solana. It has got all the reason to be the next big thing in the coming bull run. It's a direct and better competition to Ethereum network. It's faster and cheaper than most of it's alternatives.
Another coin I've believe would fare well on bull is BNB, it is certain to double within a few days of start of a bull run. Binance has the largest share of daily transactions.
707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ODI cricket and general cricketing discussion [self - mod] on: September 02, 2023, 02:20:46 PM
Impressive work by Pakistani pacers limiting India in 266. At some point in the game, India was comfortably looking to score above 300.
267 is still a good target for India to defend and they have an equally wonderful bowling lineup. It would be a test for Pakistani batsmen and I hope they'll be able to reach the target. I really hope Pakistan wins this game and Pakistani players and cricket more integrated to rest of the world.
708  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest into https://nexus.io/ Web4? Or Invest into Web2 Namecoin? on: September 02, 2023, 10:12:40 AM
Both of Nexus and Namecoin appears dead to me. It would be much better to invest in something that is more active both in development and community engagement. It's easier to think of and write about grand scheme but it's much difficult to implement those ideas. For me, I believe on execution of smaller steps and ideas more important than large promises. Nexus plans of a rebuilding the internet ground up since 2014. They have not been able to build such internet for about a decade and they are absence from the existing internet since 2020.
709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Finally Time For AI Coins? on: September 01, 2023, 07:21:51 AM
I have always been a tech nerd following all of the latest developments. In recent times, the synergy between tech and the crypto industry have been nothing short of impressive. I followed the LK-99 hype sometime ago that led to creation of several similarly themed cryptocurrencies. Also followed related events before that.

But lately, I’ve found myself tilted more towards AI and seeing new AI coins pop up daily leaves me very excited again. Solidus' AITECH launch yesterday was one of such and I liked the exposure created by its listing on several big CEXs like Bitget, MEXC, etc. Bitget particularly played a huge part in that by initiating a depositors event with a $10k prize pool attached. Hoping to see more of such in the coming days.

Are there Other AI coins that intrigue you? How well do you think aitech would perform in the next bull mrkt?

There already had been a trend of so called AI based coins and they are over. AI are actually a technology that would make and to some extent already making a difference but not any tokens with the name AI on it would be a success.
We have seen something as prominent as ChatGPT rise to the fame and starts loosing its users, there's no way we could bring in a value based/paid AI service from scratch and sustain it. There could be some breakthrough advancement in AI in coming days, but that would be led by large companies rather than crypto based startups. In short, I'm not hyped about AI projects in crypto.
710  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DOGE logo shiba inu passed away on: August 31, 2023, 08:37:11 AM
With the power of meme, Cheems would always live with us. Though most of us are personally not known to Chimes as an individual dog. His image would keep on ignite the thrill to contemporary as well as to future generations. Famous for meme phrases, Cheems doge face was a perfect icon for a pioneering electronic meme coin.

"Such silence, much empty, so meme-ories remain."
711  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your altcoins for bull session (Between Rank 30-200) on: August 31, 2023, 03:32:33 AM
Of those coins, I'm most bullish for algorand, they are going solid on dapps adoption. And have a good amount of money locked on its chain. It's on par with solana on technology while would stop generating new coins after 2030.
KCS and Huobi token is another good option if you believe theres going to be another bull run soon, exchange tokens are in discounted price right now.
If you are into swing trading PEPE could be a good coin to accumulate now.
712  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Riding the Waves: How I Made 7 Figures with Pepe and Why Spurdo Could Surpass It on: August 29, 2023, 11:44:49 PM
Congrats to the project for listing. The first time a viewed the project I though it's a personal project for someone that would never come to reality but I was wrong. I now regret not buying it when it was cheap.
It's too early to compare it with Pepe but Spurdo still seems one of the good option to buy at current time seeing its technical. It's at one of its lowest point. It could be in the phase of post listing hype.
It has been a volatile coin with lots of highs and lows and being a new meme coin, could have another all time high soon.
713  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is exchange based tokens worth for hold? on: August 27, 2023, 01:09:17 PM
Exchange based tokens specially from centralized exchanges are a good investment at the moment considering their price point and potential for future rise. All of these tokens have value added to them on virtue of use of that exchange be it for transaction fees, participation in pre-sales or burning the coins through exchange profits. For a good investment, you should decide the good exchanges. The exchange that would remain a top place for traders would give profit on it's coin while scams and failures like FTX would make you loose. DEX are not as good of investment now as the market is still highly volatile.
714  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ETH the King of Altcoins ? on: August 26, 2023, 01:30:54 AM

There is no doubt that Bitcoin is the King of cryptocurrencies. If we only focus on altcoins, ETH is the most successful smart contract platform that owns the largest base of fans compared to other altcoins. The current market cap of Ethereum is over $200 Billions and the this will be more likely to increase in the long term. Can ETH be considered as the King of Altcoins ? What do you think ? Please let me know.

Presently we could call ETH the king of alts. It's arguably the second most popular crypto after bitcoin and as of market valuation, they are on second spot among volatile cryptocurrencies for years now without any viable competition.
The market valuation of ETH is now 6 times that of it's next competitor BNB. That's a hue gap for BNB or any coins to fill in coming years. Though I believe it's likely for ETH to lose it's position rather than ETH replacing Bitcoin, but it could take 10 more years.
715  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: StarshipDoge is the next Shiba Inu! on: August 25, 2023, 03:51:15 PM
Good luck with that. Noone can rule out about any coins for whether it would be another next big thing or not. But for a coin to achieve this success, it should satisfy most of the conditions to make it rise. A large part of is the genuine participation of individuals and a strategy to constantly make it to the news. Only the tag meme won't be able make a coin hit, meme coins should also bring something new, unique and interactive to keep it's users engaged.
716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Past 3 days what did you brought in the crash? on: August 25, 2023, 12:58:57 PM
I'm not so sure about my choice as well but I bought in some LTC. It was to decrease the average buying price for me. The average price for me is still 71 while current price is 64. I might again buy some of it as I believe it would soon cross over $100. Not particularly bullish for the coin but I believe in the trend. I also sold some of my SOL to buy Steem. I prefer SOL more but it does have much price movement to keep trading. Steem on the other hand is good for trading on swings.
717  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin Millionaire Remains Optimistic About DOGE Despite Significant Losses on: August 24, 2023, 02:42:51 PM
You can never rule out for a popular coin to bounce above its last time high. Specially when it's a favourite meme coin for one of the most rich and innovative person in the world. With its constant appearance in media and buzz on the social media Dogecoin has been a widely know coin for general public on par with Ethereum. It would not require any large reason to spur a buying trend among the non crypto savy investors.
718  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New bull market or new bear market ahead? on: August 23, 2023, 01:30:54 PM
Right now, it is looking very bearish for our coins because recently, we had a big loss. Bitcoin and Ethereum almost dropped 10%.
But Bitcoin and Ethereum are still up from previous gains.
It is very difficult if we will have new bull market or new bear market ahead.

What is your personal expectation?

This is a sideways market. Bitcoin has been moving between 20k to 30K for over a year now. Anything below 25K should be utilized as buy points.
After a bear and sideways movement around the low, it's no brainer to predict an upcoming bull. But no one is sure enough when would it arrive and whether we would get many other opportunities to buy bitcoin. A prediction is once we hit 41200 on bitcoin, we would move into a bull run. Till than it's wise to keep investing a part of your savings into crypto.
719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Vitalik Buterin Fuels Coinbase with $1M ETH! on: August 22, 2023, 12:07:29 PM
I think he will stake the ETH on the Coinbase pool and get the CbEth. Then he will add CbEth into the eigen layer to get more points. So he will be eligible for eigen layer airdrop as well. This is just an idea.
Why would he support cex as a staking tool when he can stake it by himself?

Just yesterday, Vitalik Buterin made a move that caught my attention – he sent over $1 million worth of ETH to the Coinbase crypto exchange. Now, I can't help but wonder what's behind this decision. Is he eyeing a flashy new car or some real estate perhaps? Or maybe, just maybe, he's got some heartwarming plans, like supporting charitable initiatives in Ukraine or Hawaii. Your guess is as good as mine!
-cut-
He could donate directly from his wallet, he doesn't need to deposit it to coinbase for that.

Only reason i see for that move is selling it for money, or selling to buy some other cryptos with it. My guess is selling. It's not that unusual that people need fiat money for investing and spending, especially in current economic athmosphere.

It's been said that Buterin has been depositing and selling his ETH for quite a time now. In this year only, he deposited over 3.6 million USD on different exchanges and cashed out. The current 1 million puts it to 4.6 million. He has been donating a lot so this could be another attempt at charity.
But with the pace on which he's emptying his wallet, we can also predict he has lower confidence on ETH and maybe the market as a whole.
720  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: De-Fi Regulation on: August 21, 2023, 03:01:20 PM
I've read somewhere that the US proposed regulating "De-Fi" protocols. It wants to treat them as "Ce-Fi" by requiring developers to implement KYC/AML rules. This means you as a user will be forced to verify your ID to use a decentralized lending protocol, staking service, or even an exchange such as Uniswap or Pancakeswap. Would you imagine this becoming a reality in the near future? It would be disastrous! This would greatly defeat "De-Fi's" true value proposition which is eliminating the middleman from the system.

With the way "De-Fi" was designed, I hardly doubt the US government will be able to succeed in its efforts to regulate it for good. But knowing that they did sanction a decentralized mixing software like Tornado.Cash, tells me that we should not underestimate the government.

What are your thoughts? Huh

For a complete financial freedom, not only we need decentralized finance but also decentralized internet. Government like US which benefits from its regulation of global money would go to any extent to criminalize any thing that threatens their control. With the dependence on current form of internet, they can just block and criminalize access to exchanges that doesn't pays them. Its advisable to follow the rules of the jurisdiction you fall into. But what the oppressive government should realize is with the access to global village, it's much easier to change your home.
