722  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P's scammed funds summary. Post your case here if you were scammed. on: January 02, 2016, 06:47:24 PM
Master P, they're not gonna leave you alone for what, like, 50 weeks it'll take you to pay at this rate?
Somebody's gonna lose his cool & dox you.
The smart thing to do is go to a dice site & bet .4BTC until you make the whole amount back, and then pay back the whole thing.
This way you at least have a chance of not being doxxd.

What do the creditors think?

That's the stupidest idea yet - gambling with what funds you do have to pay back a debt. Please tell us you are trolling.
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Team FLY : *NEW WALLET* v1.77 RELEASED 12/28/2015!! on: January 02, 2016, 06:45:43 PM
Just for lulz I have been trying various cross compiled builds of FLY on this thing: http://bit.ly/1VwUSiu

I wanted a small device to test staking coins on, without having to use the resources of a larger server. After I complete a few memory tests, etc. I will upload some signed binaries and instructions for those that are interested.  Cool
724  Economy / Services / Re: E-coin Fixed signature campaign(Only Hero and Staff/Legendary)||Full on: January 02, 2016, 06:16:46 PM
Calculations done, as stated in the doc sheet. If you find a problem with your payment amount, please PM me.
Even if E-coin refuses to give an additional payment(highly unlikely) , the refund provided by master-p is nearly enough to pay the amounts.

Noted, and thank you for your honesty and diligence, which seems to be in short supply today in these forums.

I do hope all that were affected by the master-P brouhaha eventually get fully compensated. I am still unsure what to think about the "hack" story but am following the developments in the associated threads.
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HAM - HamRadioCoin - SHA 256 - Crypto on the radio! Official Thread on: January 02, 2016, 05:32:49 PM

UNO is actually pushing this hard, not realizing how these things work. Fleeting popularity tends to do that folks though.

Did anyone claim the outernet HAM yet? That actually gave me a great idea on how to make this work despite lighthouse data restrictions.

Hello, I am only now and I can not support everything. The project HAM is a bad time now. (Alex)

Yes I got word from Garmin that he is no longer going to support the coin. I don't have a lot of contacts in the community so I am afraid I will have to put my HAM projects on the back burner too. My wot obligations are too many for me to carry it on my own. :/

I too have just got an email from Jimmy saying that both he and Alex will not be continuing to support the coin because of real life things, and of coarse real life things should come first.

The email ends with "Anyone wanting to do a takeover should speak up now."

There must be a few of you here that can do that, this coin is far to good to let die, and I am willing to help in any way I can to support the new takeover team, but I would suggest moving fast before some newbie walks in and decides to have a go !

Time to stand up and be counted people!

I am also happy to take temp custody of this coin whilst a new team is put in place, as I would hate to see a takeover go wrong.
Cheers
Crunck

I joined up to do development work on linux and small hamradiocoind servers. I am simply too busy with other development obligations to take over the entire coin development alone. If there are any competent takers for this offer that continue community development they are welcome to contact me and I will try to assist.

I wish the community the best of luck moving forward. Kind of a sad day for me but I wish both Garmin and Alex the best of luck moving forward.
726  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE Poster bitcoinelectronics.net on: January 02, 2016, 05:24:30 PM
Remember in the future to always use escrow if possible when making a higher-value exchange like this. He states in his OP that he would use devthedev as an escrow if needed, not that it makes any difference to a scammer of opportunity.

It appears that user suchmoon has already left him negative feedback, having noticed that others have complained. I am going to leave feedback as well and link it to this post so others can take note.

Also, this post should be in the "Scam accusations" section. Perhaps a moderator can move it for you. Good luck.

Sent $200+, never received codes. Now blocks my messages. Has a topic here he bumps and has locked so people can't warn others.

Post link to original post if you want others to look into it. I will post feedback if it can be verified.
728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Increasingly Sophisticated Malware Infection Attempts on: January 02, 2016, 04:54:01 PM
Well, BTC hardware wallet protection starts to be very complicated, because trojans, worms also are more developed. Only Linux can help, I think  Wink

Just get a Trezor for your bitcoin. Your private keys will then be safe offline and Trezor works with Windows, Linux and OS X 10.8+

There are clever hacks for a trezor as well, nothing is 100% safe so don't get lulled into a false sense of security. See: http://www.hackinsight.org/news,303.html

Granted, that is a particular version of firmware but as wih any device that stores "money" there will always be people looking for the loopholes. A dedicated attacker only needs a small window of time to make your funds vanish.
729  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for pentester/hacker $200 BTC Reward on: January 02, 2016, 04:51:04 PM
tl;dr is OP either wants someone to pentest his site for free with no real proof there is actually $200 there. Or it is what was previously discussed in the thread, an elaborate scam attempt.

Any serious pentester will look elsewhere, I know I will. Legitimate site owners can provide a gpg signed message on their site as proof of ownership.

This guy supposedly claims responsibility for the hack lol: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1312108.new;topicseen#new

I'll be back later, got to make some more popcorn.  Roll Eyes

Not sure what to make of this yet but this is an unexpected twist.

Indeed. I am waiting to see the outcome of it all before changing my feedback. If OP and fruito could shed some light on it, it would be helpful.

The person claiming responsibility for the hack is obviously the bragging type, and such types usually make mistakes sooner or later. So if OP could share more information on the events leading up to this I am keeping an eye on it for sure.
731  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Beware of Increasingly Sophisticated Malware Infection Attempts on: January 02, 2016, 04:31:40 PM
I found this today. Post has since been removed but I managed to screenshot it beforehand and also left negative feedback. A link to the virus total results is included in the feedback.

It wasn't especially sophisticated, nor was it crypted just a basic wallet stealing code that scans PC for private keys. Seems to be targeted at noobs that would get greedy and download without thinking.

@ Vegas

If you sent FLY to this address F7AK4qRHUWUbpE7ZtAqdtWb5psRUToJUQe per our PM discussion during Xmas, it was sent into oblivion sorry  Cheesy

It was a cryptopia address and I just noticed their wallet was out of maintenance this morning. I am still 2-3 days from having my staking code ready, building for ARM machines is a pain.

734  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTS] my paypal account It contains 92$ on: January 02, 2016, 03:18:27 PM
It's just too high a risk too justify the reward, even at a cut-rate %. Learn from this mistake and don't make accounts you can't or don't intend to verify. It would cost the price of the account to get fake documentation to support the name on the account.

736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin vs Bitcoin XT on: January 02, 2016, 01:30:19 AM
Therefore, XT is not Bitcoin.

This sums it up rather nicely. Here on the forums you will get more accurate information, IMHO, than trying to filter through the noise that the lemmings produce on reddit. I stopped taking anything anyone says there seriously some time ago as it has devolved into a trolls den. How theymos deals with those idiots on r/bitcoin is beyond me.

I also applaud the decision to remove coinbase from the list, and on bitcoin.org. Coinbase won't be using bitcoin if it continues along this path.

As previously mentioned this is uncharted territory for sure but it is foolhardy to raise the blocksize limit at this time, considering there are more pressing issues with bitcoin in general. iirc mempool needs to be sorted before even considering block capacity increases.

Stupid question but if we double the block size so we double the block reward?

No, block reward does not increase by doubling block size.
737  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Master-P's scammed funds summary. Post your case here if you were scammed. on: January 02, 2016, 12:38:22 AM
Posting in this thread because I was enrolled in the ecoin campaign at the time of master-P's exit scam. I posted feedback to his profile on 2015-12-29. I had only been enrolled in the campaign for one week, but it caused me some incovenience having been promised he was trustworthy escrow.
738  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for pentester/hacker $200 BTC Reward on: January 01, 2016, 10:50:28 PM
I would be glad to perform these tests and provide a full report of findings, but as the others have stated this would be consodered a flat-rate job regardless of the results.
739  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fruito / Classicdoubler SCAMMER on: January 01, 2016, 10:41:22 PM
I also left feedback on the fruito account until this issue is resolved, but I do believe OP's version of events.

Shorena's comments were spot on. If you are a newbie and are going to purchase an account here, these are the minimal steps you should be following to secure the account.
740  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice Python Bot on: January 01, 2016, 10:26:13 PM
Well this is not exactly Python, but maybe this code will help you a little, or you change your mind about programming this bot in Python.
Check out this thread about other PrimeDice bot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1018417.0

ewwww, Java lol. The python bot posted above works quite well in my experience. I don't gamble much but do like coding bots as well.

This bot (although written in javascript) is nice for folks that have little programming experience: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=831117.0
