1642  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Coin Ad (New Owner) on: March 13, 2015, 10:01:59 PM
I emailed the owner about a suspicious ad, haven't heard back on that one yet.

Payments have been on time, no issues there.

Finally was able to create an account

In case you need a backup pool, try http://miningpools.tk/   No signup necessary, it is p2p so just use you wallet address as credentials.

Thanks for the updated nodes, I never got to post my list. Updated client seems to be staking correctly.

Plants welcome being eaten by animals or people. They become part of a greater life that way.

Is there some science behind that statement?
1646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: STAR COIN [STR] - The coin with bonus STAR blocks on: March 13, 2015, 12:07:32 AM
well when that becomes a big big problem
here's the fix

stealllers (aka ripple aka paypal & bitcon whales) can have STR

if they help fund the QT retooling
and we get 'STAR'

I really like this idea, and wouldn't mind getting involved a bit. I just got a new PC and need to grab the new client though.
1647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [CENT] Pennies relaunched on: March 12, 2015, 10:49:10 PM
Hi Folks,

I seem to be missing something, I downloaded the latest version of the wallet 1.3.5 and left it to sync over night, but it didn't find a single connection and just sat there doing not a lot.

Any advice on how to get a fresh wallet set up? (all my coins were on swisscex, but now its closing i want to get the wallet ready to receive them again.)

once i have the coins sorted i'll be 1 step closer to having my game ready which will give away coins :-) (31billion CENT and 700,000 Dogecoins are the first coins that will be being given away in the game)

any advice on sorting the wallet would be awesome.

thanks

I think there were some nodes posted a few threads back. I will see if I can find them when I get home later tonite.

Payment Card Deposits Now Easier

Dear all,

We are happy to announce some great updates at CEX.IO! Now you can buy Bitcoins in a few clicks using your credit or debit card.

Right now:

Verification is not necessary when funding your account with a payment card.
– We allow adding multiple cards to your account.

Your three steps to purchase BTC:
1. add a payment card;
2. deposit USD or EUR;
3. buy Bitcoins.

When making a deposit, you will only need to choose a payment card from the list of your cards, enter the deposit amount, and confirm your payment.

You can try it out now

This makes it easier to buy methinks. With the btc price rise it may do me well to start up cloud mining on a limited basis again.
1649  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: How to automatically create a bootstrap.dat file on a node on: March 12, 2015, 07:48:27 PM
This will not (reliably) create a valid bootstrap.dat.

A valid bootstrap.dat contains no orphans (block files contain orphans) and will have all the blocks in order (blocks in block files may be out of order).

There is a script included with bitcoin core called linearize.py that is used to create bootstrap.dats.

Hmmm, I was unaware of this one (linearize.py).  I have seeded a updated bootstrap.dat torrent as often as possible though I agree the speed increase of using it is negligible.

I was able to buy a few k of moon today for my cold storage. I have a friend sitting on 50 K I want him to sell me too. Cheesy
1651  Other / Off-topic / Re: Which BTC wallet are you using on: March 07, 2015, 02:36:28 PM
Currently I am using the latest version of core at home, Mycelium when I am mobile. I formerly used blockchain.info but never really keep change in a spending wallet. If I am out and need to make a payment I can ssh into my home machine and free up a few bits anytime.
1652  Other / Meta / Re: Unsubscribe on: March 07, 2015, 02:03:18 PM
It's a totally brand new account with nothing you can save. Just leave it along, why bother?

Because of their first post, probably.

Most likely. 2 activity and neg-rep I'd learn the lesson about asking for loans with no collateral and simply start over.
1653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trojan targetting bitcoin! on: March 07, 2015, 01:53:23 PM
Someone mentioned the possibility of hoarding coins in an exchange earlier, which is about the worst advice ever. If you want good security you have to be responsible for it yourself. No product alone will do it for you.
1654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] HAM - HamRadioCoin - SHA 256 - Crypto on the radio! Official Thread on: February 21, 2015, 01:12:23 AM

I think if you schedule a big IRC meet a couple weeks in advance, and email all hamradio forum members (and PM forum posters in here), you could get a good attendance on IRC, especially if there will be some giveaways, etc.  That's how Opal does it.

Good Idea, were putting together some banner campaigns on some prominent amateur radio websites.
we will also be continuing giveaways, we also have a IRC tipbot for registered nic's.
 Wink

I'd be more than happy to help sponsor a ham radio trivia night or something. In my downtime I am still working on a poker bot. Wink

It is great, has a nice old-school CoinVisitor feel to it. teamfresh is always tweaking things to keep it interesting as well. Smiley
1656  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Coin Ad (New Owner) on: February 20, 2015, 11:49:34 PM
I got my first payment (since BitcoinAliens took over) just a few days ago. Thanks a lot.

Lot more ads than before, so it is worth a few minutes to peruse this site.
1657  Other / Off-topic / Re: There was no Big Bang, Truth shall set you free!!!! on: February 19, 2015, 11:09:19 PM
This post seems to shining proof for me that the truth is indeed here: http://godisimaginary.com/i49.htm

Quote
In Christian mythology, God is supposed to the the all-powerful, all-knowing creator of the universe. God is supposed to have incarnated himself as Jesus and he is supposed to have written the Bible. And yet today God is completely and absolutely silent. Therefore, the only thing we hear from God comes from people who are speaking on his behalf.

If you would like to understand how imaginary God is, all that you have to do is listen to God's spokespeople, because in many cases these people are lunatics. If there actually were a God, and if he actually had anything to do with love, he would silence these people because they are an absolute embarrassment.

I have been an atheist for the better part of my adult life, but there is a rather new religion that seems to answer all these questions for me. http://englishrussia.com/2010/02/17/russian-gadget-hackwrench-religion/
1659  Economy / Exchanges / Re: ***CEX.IO Bitcoin Exchange. BTC/USD, BTC/EUR. Official page*** on: February 09, 2015, 03:47:27 PM
I have literally nothing left there still, besides a few thousand doge that never complete withdraw. Oh well. Most of my BTC got out safe and sound. Mainly I miss the market, because if there is no cloud mining then, obviously one cannot trade.
1660  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] Coin Ad (New Owner) on: February 06, 2015, 12:46:23 PM
SO there is a faucet ad here that redirects you to another page: http://coinad.com/v.php?id=CS7NNBP4IFI8R

Won't let you close the page, not cool at all.

You are right, and thats absolutely not acceptable, it wasn't like that when the advert was placed - very very poor and low quality marketing and I've removed this now - for reference 23coins - this was you, your USSR faucet.

Awesum, thanks for fixing that so quick. I had noscript running and wasn't on a windows box. Just some faucet owners try to slip that in. Wink

So far I am enjoying new Coin-Ad outside of that. A lot more ads than before.
