1681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: xpy.paytripler.com High Risk Investment... 300% Payouts!! on: January 19, 2015, 05:09:47 PM
Not a Scam... Check it out before you make accusations...

Not a scam, just claiming to accept a scamcoin and payback 300% out of thin air...sounds legit...

IMO this is the correct answer. Combining a scammy coin with a scummy ponzi scheme and you have the perfect storm! GAW themselves will probably buy this website within a month.
1682  Other / Meta / Re: Please give another section to ponzis... on: January 19, 2015, 05:04:11 PM
I don't really care, the only thing I hate is the PM ponzi spam from new users but that has only happened to me a few times in this most recent crop-up.

I also received a few ponzi  PMs spam , and I've reported them to an administrator .  I think now we need a new forum section only for the Ponzi schemes, what do you think ?

Well it would be nice to have them all corralled together. I can see how you might call some of these games "gambling" because it is by definition. The HYIP and such are very misleading at times, however, and are just noob traps imo.

I don't see the slack I guess?

The "slack" where I didn't want to say my true thoughts on changetip.

Tongue ah!  Happy to pick up the slack <3

^ example of a tip.

I just now saw your post. Thanks a lot, I was racking my brain last night (mainly because of the wine) trying to figure out who sent me btc. Tongue

That wasn't so hard at all!
1684  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: TermWallet - Lightweight Command-Line Wallet on: January 18, 2015, 04:02:22 AM
Pushed a new update today. You can now restore a HD wallet with its BIP-39 mnemonic code, here is how to use it:

Code:
restore      Create a wallet based on a BIP-39 mnemonic seed
      Usage: restore [options]
        Options:
          -t, --time
Replay blockchain starting from this time (UNIX epoch time)
             Default: 1421548754

Example:
$ termwallet restore -t 1409478661
Seed: yard impulse luxury drive today throw farm pepper survey wreck glass federal

Once run, it will prompt you for the 12-word mnemonic code and automatically restore the wallet.  The blockchain is replayed from the time parameter, which defaults to the current time.  It is in the format of UNIX Epoch time (converter here: http://www.epochconverter.com/).  If addresses in the wallet have past transactions, set the time to the first transaction (or, to be safe, a little bit before).

THIS IS AWESOME!!!  I love the ability to do this straight CLI. I deleted the wallet.dat and restored from seed quickly.

wait I thought crypsty was legit no? I had sold my namecoins here but takes awhile..

Cryptsy is fine. I believe OP may have thrown all his crypto savings into something he did not understand correctly.

I feel like a dick for ever bumping this thread Tongue

Cryptsy is fine Roll Eyes

Well Cryptsy isn't a bastion of good by any stretch, and like most exchanges they probably accept bribes or maybe even *gasp* manipulate markets. But never had them steal any money from me yet.
1687  Other / Meta / Re: Anyone else finds it ironic that THE forum on BTC doesn't integrate tipping? on: January 17, 2015, 07:57:48 PM
(No disrespect towards ChangeTip intended)

I'll step in and disrespect it.

Anything that encourages people not to learn how something that they are holding $ in is fucking stupid.

Also taking advantage of n00bs for collecting fees of peoples good will is fucking horrible too.

Don't support third party tipping things. P2P ftw

1% for withdraw is a fucking joke... (I know it's free... for now Wink )

Well someone picked up the slack anyway. I think there are much better ways.
1688  Other / Meta / Re: Anyone else finds it ironic that THE forum on BTC doesn't integrate tipping? on: January 17, 2015, 07:36:05 PM

EDIT- tipbot would be convenient though, however, I like that all I need is an address to send btc. Back to basics and good for new guys to come to terms with. For a while I had an address on a blog I run, with a "tip me" label. Not that anyone tipped the blog, I was still happy with the simplicity. It is not a btc related blog so a Changetip button sits there now. Users still have to get BTC and a CT account.

I like this. I kinda feel the tipping culture that has spawned wants to make it unnecessarily complicated. I can pop a label on an address and send out a few bits quickly with no 3rd party involved. (No disrespect towards ChangeTip intended)

If you are speaking about the past years this simply isn't factual. PoS coins have almost all proven to be ICO scams or pump and dump opportunities.

This is true. I wondered if most ICO scams choose PoS variants because they cannot easily get network backing using PoW?
1692  Other / Meta / Re: Referral links in posts on: January 17, 2015, 03:56:52 PM
I would like to see this answered by staff as well. I was browsing a thread a few days ago where a guy posted his qoinpro ref link, which was quickly deleted by the mods. I personally think they should be confined to a specific thread, if allowed at all.
1693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Satoshi Nakamoto Remains Anonymous on: January 17, 2015, 03:43:29 PM
Another one of these threads? Seriously if you were him, would you want all this unwanted attention? Sure you want have some fame, but you almost might get insta-murdered. Not everyone chases the fame.

It is obvious he committed suicide after seeing his brilliant code cloned into numerous altcoins used to perpetuate scams.

No bitches waste my nervous...

I'm sorry to hear that Cryptsy gave you frozen masturbation instead of internet service. Possibly, you should consider not putting all your money into bitcoin if you have a cash flow problem with fiat.

Some of us *like* frozen masturbation ... excuse me while I put some Cryptsy carrots on this swelling.

We can prove it, also!

 Grin

Thank you, Grand_Voyageur. I was hard-pressed to find an image off the top of my head. Wink

Will add this information to the subreddit today if it isn't already posted. Good to track.

I never really got the concept i guess tho I see a lot of their posts on r/cryptocurrency. I kind of want to *break away* from fractional reserve and pegged currencies.

I think the connection issues to irc have been numerous today. But at last there is ssl connection, so that is a plus. Grin
