721  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: banks and if they allow buying bitcoin on: May 01, 2021, 07:23:27 PM
Also I am basically a newbie about crypto currencies, but isn't it true that you have to worry about dirty bitcoins, involved in illegal activity, wouldn't this info be available to the "authorities", like the banks and even government agencies. i have heard that some exchanges  have ratings from past buys though, so I guess that would be much safer, but that issue, is it or much danger?
Banks and authorities won't know these dirty bitcoins not unless they're known working with some chain analysis service.

Where can you buy bitcoin without kyc with the lowest fees.... keep in mind, I live in Canada, I don't know if that matters, lol, I am a newb.
You can on binance, no kyc but just for trading on certain amount, but for buying crypto and using p2p you need to give your info for kyc. You can also buy crypto using credit/debit card there

If your concern is only to buy hardware wallet you can use paypal, try linking your card to paypal and then buy what ever you want.
722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: IRS now wants to Hack Hardware Wallets on: May 01, 2021, 07:05:45 PM
Cracking seed phrases? Are they insane, simple word, it's robbery.

Also, the bip39 would be another hindrance to them, it would require them lots of resources just to get their motive. Good luck with that lol.

723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla and market manipulation crime on: May 01, 2021, 06:46:40 PM
So what you mean is, once a company buy or invest stocks/commodities/crypto/company, they should not sell it for the own good of their company? Also, as a company they should be silent when they sell and announce to PR etc when they buy? That doesn't make sense.

I never heard anyone here make a thread about market manipulation when tesla bought bitcoin though tell me if there is.
724  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Github activity on: May 01, 2021, 06:36:12 PM
It's more like the development of the open source code of the project actually, like what mentioned above. But github activity does not always mean the deployment of the feature on the project. It also does not mean a better project or bad, it just that the team/dev behind the project is focused and determined to finish it or add something useful regardless the community will like it or not.
725  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Will crypto debit cards work even in restricted country? on: May 01, 2021, 03:26:59 PM
I am looking for debit card which can be topped with cryptos and to be used in India ATMs and POS.
I checked most debit card providers in crypto space, none offers services to India.
Most crypto cards as long its visa and mastercard can be used to withdraw in any atm machine regardless the location imo. The only difference is these card providers only supports to EU countries for shipment deliveries.

I guess the only way is to purchase this card from EU from anyone you knew and forward it to the country you're residing.
726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 1 million BTC wallet on: April 29, 2021, 11:59:57 PM
It could possibly be owned by Satoshi because he's the creator of Bitcoin but since there isn't any proof, things like this could only be considered as an assumption and theory. We all know that to turn our assumptions into facts, we have to gather enough proof to prove our speculations because fake news is just around us so people would always look for evidence.

I don't think there is such a wallet and posters above confirm that there are no such wallets. What OP is claiming is some urban legend that you shouldn't worry about.

Even if there was such a wallet, it wouldn't be an active user. Nobody in their right mind would keep so much money on a single address. These would be split to a number of addresses and cold wallets for protection.
Plus satoshi has bitcoin all over the address used to received mining rewards back then and its been there for ages without any transfer, satoshi might have almost million btc but it doesn't stored in just single address nor even a hundred of address
727  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Collapse of cryptocoin exchange in Turkey | VeBitcoin on: April 29, 2021, 11:55:05 PM
The reason of banning bitcoin/crypto in turkey is bs. The bank said only vecause of its volatility and being anonymous-being tied to illegal actions. It's all about censorship and corruption. Those are people's money, why they care where it will be spent and used. With the current inflation rate on turkey's lira who the hell would like to store their assets on such currency.

And why they have to detained those operators if the exchanges are regulated. Just because they ban crypto, suddenly all existing exchange is now illegal and have to file charges? Their government sucks.
728  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: is the site theminers.net scam?! on: April 26, 2021, 06:15:29 AM
Cloud mining are scams, most of them. There's nothing especial on that website, though this domain might be created way back 2002 (whois info) but this domain probably just updated and turn into crypto website recently as its not related to crypto since created base on web archive.

Now, what you have seen on trustpilot reviews are probably fake. Look at the date of the reviews its almost the same on 04/16/21, 02/22/21 so on and so fort, and are all are labeled as invited , the only reviews on trustpilot that can be real are those labeled as "verified". So, if you don't want to waste and lost your funds, stay away from that site.
729  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Is this seller legit? on: April 25, 2021, 09:11:54 PM
the shop is gone so they run away with just 8 dollar? lmao
Well, even a $5 or less still a pretty good amount and can be used to buy a meal and scammers wont hesitate to try to do their bad deeds even for such amount.

731  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [Wow] Restaurant now accepting All major crypto for payments on: April 25, 2021, 07:52:44 PM
Hindi kaya sila mag-aalala pagbumaba bitcoin? Kasi ako kung ako nasa pwesto nila hindi ko kaya or hindi ko matatanaggap na bumamaba bitcoin lalo na yung recipe and mamahal. Pag mababa yung bitcoin or nasa flat line ng napakatagal pano yun? diba?

That are the risks (price volatility) na kailangan mong tanggapin pag gusto mong mag accept ng bitcoin/crypto payment.

Pag ang aim mo as a business is pag maka receive ka ng bitcoin/crypto payment, ay e withdraw/convert mo to fiat agad for the purpose na mag add/restock ng supply then parang di ka magtatagal talaga dyan.
Pero if long term goal mo, like yung na receive mo na crypto payment will be a short term investment then mas better yun, convert to fiat pag alam ng malaki na kita.
732  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: HOLDING VS TAKING PROFITS DURING BULL RUN on: April 25, 2021, 07:35:24 PM
Actually, actively trading on this current bull run may take huge profits if people do it properly. But of course, it cannot be compared to those who hodl and profit since 2018-2020 price.

If you have sold on $60k~ish and buy on $48k~ish then that's also a pretty good profit actually.
733  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is now a Super Hero in new Comic Book series by Marvel and DC Artists on: April 25, 2021, 07:17:54 PM
I don't know, I feel like it's not related to bitcoin in first look as what satoshi made (though its something like anon mask which is a bit related to bitcoin), and it feels like just someone with a japanese name, since "satoshi" is popular surname in japan.

Though if the comic's author has statements that this named character is really based on satoshi nakamoto (bitcoin creator), then that's great. Hope they continue doing things like this, and continue its series.
734  Economy / Services / Re: looking for anyone who can advertise our website - 100$ on: April 25, 2021, 07:00:49 PM
If you only pay using altcoin/s (litecoin) then this thread doesn't belong on this board but to Marketplace (Altcoins) instead. You can move this thread using the command below "move thread" link.
735  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying FEES? on e-wallet same To Paying TAXES? to your very own community? on: April 25, 2021, 06:52:14 PM
Fees are different on taxes, and transaction fees are not for taxes. But if you refer this "e-wallet" as regulated by the government which is responsible for taxes, they may, but normally sending or receiving funds/bitcoin using this "e-wallet" does not required to pay taxes but it may depend though on different matters.
736  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Finding private key in Blockchain wallet on: April 25, 2021, 06:24:09 PM
Yes, that works, now I have it. Thank you very much.  Grin
Just a heads up, move your bitcoin funds (if there is) to a new wallet before importing your private key to a new device/wallet for security reasons.
737  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gate.io scam? Seeking advice on: April 25, 2021, 05:38:12 PM
I could sound dumb but what the fuck is an RBTC and how does it have the same value as BTC?  Roll Eyes Is it not like any other Altcoin but just forked off bitcoin's network?
I don't know the exact wording but its like tokenized thing, like wrapped btc (kinda?) on eth blockchain and can be traded to some uniswap exchanges. Don't know also how it has almost the same value of btc.

I still don't understand why the hell they enabled depositing RBTC if they don't plan to let people trade in the near future. I mean its one thing to enable deposits few days ahead of trading, but this is something completely different and doesn't make absolutely no sense to me.
Obviously, to lure users and trap them like what OP experienced. Good thing it's now solved.
738  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [Wow] Restaurant now accepting All major crypto for payments on: April 25, 2021, 05:49:44 AM
Coins.ph rin ang ineexpect kong way ng pagtanggap nila ng payments. Weirdly enough, "Binance e-wallet" ang gamit nila, kung ano man un. Main Binance exchange app? Wala atang Binance<->Binance instant transactions dun?

Ah, "binance e-wallet" siguro binance pay ito, which instant nga pag binance to binance ang transaction tapus may QR scan transfer na mas pina easy way pag transfer, though the same kahit di binance pay as long na binance users both ang mag ka transact instant yun at wala ding fee.
739  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Cebu City government eyeing crypto payments on: April 24, 2021, 11:28:10 PM
Tulad ng respond ko sa uma accept ng crypto payment earlier. Magandang idea at decision ang mag accept ng crypto payments. Except na mas lalaki pa kita mo in terms of investment (if tama pag gamit mo), at its a hedge against inflation na din.
Ang cons lang talaga for now is fees, at time confirmation if bitcoin payment, though magandang gamitin ang lightning, di lang ako sure if iilan lang din ang may alam nun dito.
740  Local / Pamilihan / Re: [Wow] Restaurant now accepting All major crypto for payments on: April 24, 2021, 11:08:37 PM
Better kung coins ph din gamit nila if ever kase nga walang fee pag coins to coins.

Now if non-custodial wallet gamit nila then baka mas mahal pa ang btc/eth fee sa pag kain nila or if maliit naman ang fee baka umabot pa ng ilang uras bago pa ma confirm 😅.
Though don't get me wrong magandang decision/idea din ito regardless sa amount na kikitain nila
