741  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Lose Everything Youve Gained in One day, or One Trade on: November 07, 2023, 07:58:41 AM

Well, we can't blame others for chasing losses. As you said, you've experienced it, and I also experienced that situation.
No one is blaming anyone on this, at least not me. It's their place to lose. We're only advising from a place of experience so that those who are less experienced can borrow from such valuable lessons and make amends. There's no point constantly losing funds to the market when one can stand on the shoulders of those who know these things and navigate far.

Quote
Sometimes I'll let it go if what I've lost is not too much or if I stake a smaller amount. and I have the discipline or principle that "profit is profit," no matter how big or small it is. As long as I earn, that's enough for me. That's why I don't set a goal because I don't want to have something that I want to chase.
That's the best way to solve this. Just let go and wait for another opportunity. There are so many opportunities in the market.
742  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin may not hit $24,750 again in 2023 - I'm bullish till 2024 on: November 07, 2023, 07:39:21 AM
~snipped~
$50K before the end of the year seems possible - but not certain.
Nothing has ever been certain in this industry. The industry is a place where anything is possible to happen but even at that we gauge by sentiment to read the market. The sentiment ATM is bullish as the market is already basking in the excitement of a fresh halving.

I'm not entirely sure a correction can be avoided if the SEC ultimately rejects a bitcoin ETF - so it remains a possibility and it would be advisable to consider the risks.
I'm more disposed to taking a long position on Bitcoin than a short.as it's now, no matter whatever price correction I perceive. I don't want to be trapped. Any correction now is likely more of a bear trap.
743  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why it’s important to avoid telling everyone about your crypto holdings on: November 07, 2023, 06:34:46 AM
~snipped~
Telling a friend that I have many coins in my wallet does not imply that they can gain access to my wallet without my permission...
Yes, it's highly unlikely that they will gain access to your wallet but knowing you've Bitcoin (or any other cryptos worth their salt) could trigger a sinister motive against you and this is what many people tend to avoid by not announcing what they've. Why release a piece of information that will put you in danger in the first place, an information that will constantly make you look over your shoulders? It's like announcing to people you've certain appreciable amount of fiat in your bank account; people will overlook it if it doesn't show you've much but not the same way when you're worth millions in fiat. It's the same thing with hodling Bitcoin and announcing it. Everything shouldn't be for the public to digest.

...
My resolution to invest in bitcoin is final and there is nothing anybody can do about it.
I find that part highly disgusting and it tells
a great deal how the user in quote, Justbillywitt, treats their family. How someone would sell what was collectively owned and made that type of statement, is simply unbelievable. It's appalling to say the least, and really saddening.

Those who start up incredible stories like that should've realized that there are now many threads for merit giveaways if they spent some time on the forum to peruse it enough. They should take up such offers than labour in vain to amaze us with their lack of ingenuity.
745  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Im short trader Im new here but been long time in trading on: November 06, 2023, 09:35:11 PM
My time and efforts are not for Free so i have my own private team who follow me to make money with my short signals and honestly all trades are in profit maybe 1 loss out of 10 trades...
So, that's the whole essence of your posting here and claim to having the holy grail? You think it's as simple as that to lure people to your private group/channel and then unburden whatever magic you alleged to have? Nah! I ain't sure anyone will be eager to try that experiment with you when you haven't proved anything to us as a whole. We know how this ends. We've seen too many of such to think this will be any different. For anyone to contemplate believing you, you've to give out signals. Let's document your win and loss rates first before anyone will want to take up your offer on a second thought.
746  Other / Meta / Re: I raise a motion to create a board where health issues can be discussed. on: November 06, 2023, 03:40:30 PM
While I understand OP's concern to have a separate board for health related discussions, perhaps that's their niche and they want to flow there, I don't think it's meaningful assuaging that request. It's for something like this that the Off-Topic board exists. The priority of this forum is Bitcoin and its sister discussions. Health is way off. It's a complete different terrain. Except the health discussion is related to Bitcoin and that will be appropriately captured in the Bitcoin Discussion board. I don't see any need for a different board to do that. Again, doing that will open a chapter for lamentations like Adbitco rightly opined with all manners of sob stories springing up and down here. Of course, we should expect that those stories (when they come up) won't all be genuine.
747  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Uncomfirmed Transaction on: November 06, 2023, 02:46:44 PM
Anyways, the network is so congested now and as mentioned above by LucyFurr, the fee rate of around 40 sat/vbyte is now required for getting confirmation.
It's crazy how fee rates get jacked up once Bitcoin begins to surge in price. Yesterday, it was 52 sat/vbyte when I checked because I wanted to make a transfer. Now that I checked again, it's 48 sat/vbyte. I don't know what OP got as the bearest minimum for a transfer when they made theirs. Now, here's the thing for those who bemoan lack of mass adoption for Bitcoin. I think this fee thing is a major part of the problem for Bitcoin, not necessarily lack of government support or approval.
748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the best advice or should I just let him on: November 06, 2023, 02:30:27 PM
Should I give him advice on how to manage his gambling activities or I just let him since he is just enjoying his senior years and doing things that he missed doing when he was still young? and what's the right approach, we all know senior citizens are sensitive to criticism.
At old age, our bad habit gets worse while our good habits get better. I don't believe people pick a habit at old age. It's always a habit that's there but suppressed somehow. The widower didn't pick that gambling habit at old age. He merely found solace in it since the wife who probably was checkmating him had transited to the great beyond. The old man is possibly thinking that he's catching fun of whatever is left of his life now and thinking he's enjoying himself by that past indulgence.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fund for Bitcoin promotion on: November 06, 2023, 01:33:49 PM
Is there some group which collects funds for Bitcoin promotion? If some group like this can create advertisements for Bitcoin, more people can become aware. Such mediums should be targeted which have reach on audience that is still not familiar with crypto.
Isn't this forum already doing that? I mean, creating awareness. A lot of us got here through advertised links on different sites. Whether those articles were paid for or not is what I don't know. There may not be specific groups that collect money to promote Bitcoin but I know that certain individuals do that in their own capacity and that's to get the word out there about Bitcoin; again, to also promote their own affiliate businesses linked to Bitcoin. Whichever way, it's a win-win.
750  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Learn from my experience how to protect yourself from crypto scam on: November 06, 2023, 12:38:55 PM
    Story 1:

I don't know why you blanked the project's name. Could it be that there's a genuine project by that name or it's just a random name? Anyway, not as if blanking the name prevents anything for those who are keen on finding out what project that was with their search tools.

    Quote
    Story 2:
I downloaded that file and installed it in my virtual box as a precaution, though I wasn’t aware that this file contained malware.
This is the first time I heard of this and the wonder you said it did. Could you be gracious enough to share a link to this particular stuff if it has an app and how to use it, if it's a complex stuff.

    Quote
    Story 3:
In the meantime those scammers were pushing me to submit the link quickly which i didn’t.
As a rule of thumb, once anyone pushes you to be hasty in taking a financial decision know it's a scam about to go down. I tend to slow down more once anyone does this with me. I want to find out why they're in a hurry.

It's not just you, many people don't want bitcoin to drop back to $25k, but there are still some people who are expecting it. Those are people who haven't accumulated a lot of bitcoin because they think the market will have another big drop and bitcoin will drop to $15k. But I think they will soon be disappointed after seeing what has happened in the past few days. But you're right, we also have no guarantees that bitcoin will no longer drop below $25k.

I was pessimistic about the $40K goal by the end of the year but with everything going on, I think it's achievable.
You're right. It's crystal clear now that those who were in expectation of Bitcoin hitting $25k won't have their dreams fulfilled. If anything, the halving wind won't make that possible. We're at the last quarters of the year now, nearing halving and Bitcoin is trading around $35k and I don't see anything that will push it down that far now. It's already on the uptrend as we've seen price push out. Who knows, we might likely hit $50k before year end.
752  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Lose Everything Youve Gained in One day, or One Trade on: November 05, 2023, 05:45:29 PM
The worst mistake one can make as a trader is chasing the market to recover losses, If you lose a trade, learn from it and take it as your fault.
It's called revenge trading. I've yet to see anyone who chases the market to recover their losses and does it successfully. One may be lucky with a few wins chasing the market but ultimately one will lose out at the end if one makes it a way of trading. It's better to let the loss go and then crosscheck to find out why one lost for future trades. Unfortunately, many of us don't learn this from others mistakes until it happens to us. Just like you, I've also been a victim of this. Also just like many others reading this now, they won't take precaution of this until they experience it firsthand.
753  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: First buy Bitcoin as a newbie, good way to start. on: November 05, 2023, 04:02:36 PM
They are worrying about high price and high cost they have to pay to buy Bitcoin but they don't know they can buy any piece of Bitcoin like 0.5 BTC, 0.1 BTC or 0.01 BTC, even smaller.
They can, of course, even buy ⅒ of the least among your listed examples. Anyone can buy as low as $2 (or even $1, if fee allows) but the problem most newbies will have will be how and where to buy. Though it's much easier this day buying Bitcoin from either exchanges or P2P, it wasn't that way when I got on board in 2017. It wasn't easy buying because of the preponderance of scam.

There was something that happened then with my inability to buy Litecoin which was around $4 because I didn't know how to go about it. I was a greenhorn but my instinct told me its price would rise. I didn't know how to go about it and so I missed out buying. I hope our latest newbies don't run into such challenge now.

So we're TWO WEEKS away from the DOUBLE CENTURY.
    Wow!
    How time flies.
    Felicitations, BestChange.
Happy Double Century in Weeks celebration.
From me, this is wishing BestChange the best of progressive business connections...
In good health, I must add.
755  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't look for investment, just hodle! on: November 04, 2023, 03:17:56 PM
    Just a friendly advice!

As succinct and valid as that advice is, not many will value it. Some of us were of that mindset in the past where we felt we could chase other coins in place of Bitcoin (owing to their cheap prices). But of course, we got the deserved repercussions later and learned our lessons from that. I hope the present inexperienced members here will pay ardent attention to this and do the needful by hodling and waiting patiently for the bull run against all odds.
756  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how secure are your telling fellow wo/man about this forum and bitcoin on: November 04, 2023, 02:20:35 PM
Normally, people here will tell you to share with your friend the word about bitcoin and this forum. However, if you're not feeling safe or okay with this, why would you want to pressure yourself, then?
Even those who preach the sharing thing with friends are also advocates of privacy and advise that we shouldn't let our data out. It's really conflicting when you want to juxtapose all that.

    Quote
If I were in your situation, I'd deflect the insistence with some vague words like "I'm working as a freelancer for a client overseas" or something along those lines.
This is even worse because it gives out the vibe that you earn in foreign currency. In my country, that's interpreted as one being able to afford three square meals and foot one's bills. Those who know this will beam searchlight on one and the level of dependency on one is likely to increase.

    Quote
Money burns bridges, and I assure you, if you do not share what you really do with that person, you'll be a goner to her especially since you offered her to show what it is and you're going to back out the last second.
OP has whetted the friend's appetite, they should do the needful. You can't leave a friend in the lurch, especially in a bitting economy once they've shown interest. However, OP should endeavour to tell the friend the challenges and consequences of what this forum drags along too. It's not all that rosy. There are consequences for defaulters.
757  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost of my capital has made me to have a change of mind about Bitcoin . on: November 04, 2023, 12:21:34 PM
I downloaded candle stick bible as directed by my friend so I can have a good knowledge on how to understand the reasons for the formation of each of those candles  And the reasons for their existence...
I don't know if you've checked out the babypips.com site. Well, even with the complete knowledge of candle patterns and interpretations; there's still no guarantee that you won't lose money from time to time. There's no profitable trader who doesn't lose money back to the market. That's why Stop Loss (SL) exists. It isn't meant for noob traders alone to use. Anyway, welcome to the club. You've had your first taste of reality and of the fact that trading isn't a shortcut to riches. You shouldn't run. Quitters don't win. Rather, you should brace up and find out what made you that loss. Have a trading journal and plan your trades by taking and keeping records.

Any advice or individual plan when it comes to selling in bull run?
Utilize now that the market is relatively calm to make your analysis and draw up your expected level to exit the market before price begins to spike and investors and traders get carried away like children expectant of the first rain. Once the rally begins, there's going to be so much noise in the market that you're likely not to hear any more sensible but bloated and bogus analyses.

Don't base your exit on anyone's analysis then. Pick it now.

I'm looking at $120k – $150k for a fresh ATH. If we get past that, I take it as a bonus. Already Bitcoin is forming a pennant in 4hrs TF in readiness for a breakout. I expect it goes well up from there.
759  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin, when to buy on: November 04, 2023, 07:57:22 AM
Because I believe in the hype that  this forum is filled with knowledgeable people about cryptocurrency.
Well, it's not a hype. It's true. There are a great number of knowledgeable guys in here who are even ever ready to pass across what they know to others for free. All you've to do is ask, and ask in the relevant boards.

Concerning the DCA you mentioned. Yes, it's a better way to accumulate Bitcoin (or any crypto) than buying at once if you've the set skills to spot Resistance and Support areas. If you aren't good at TA (Technical Analysis) you're likely to mess it up and miss the bus big time. To be on a safe side, just buy right now. We're approaching the Bitcoin halving event and price will soon go gaga up there.

760  Other / Meta / Re: Image ban or tagging, is it possible? on: November 03, 2023, 08:11:47 PM
I have serious taught on this because I tried even using AI to help write some post of mine and I won't deny the fact but a good mate here in the forum corrected me and sent me a PM to stop if not I will be tagged so in that respect I stop using the AI...
I hope that's the absolute truth and nothing but the truth that you've indeed stopped using it. To me, I see those who rely on AI to write for them as people who've confidence issue and then bend it to deceive others.

So please the community should clear if I can banned or tagged from copying someone image in creating my topic without adding a reference link.
I know many users above have pointed you to what's obtainable at the moment that there's no copyright infringement on pictures here. However, I do think that it could become an issue during arts competitions and exhibitions here during contests. I think I've read something like that where certain users tried to adjust some arts work they saw online and pass them off as theirs. They got called out on the threads. I can't remember what competitions they were on again now.
