781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 23, 2022, 12:27:00 PM

I also think the same that they now pass the struggle of controlling Casimero's condition and right now, they are just maintaining it until the date of the fight. Unfortunately that they need to find a solution to that condition instead of focusing only on his usual practice.

Pual Butler knows that issue and will do everything to make that Casimero's condition to his advantage. Since he's the one hungry for the title, he will do everything to win on that match too.

If that's the case on Butler's side, it would be a great challenge for Casimero.

And knowing this guy, he wanted that call, a toe to toe exchanging of punches will delight him. Casimero always wanted to impress
his fans, if Butler will try to aggressively finished him due to his current condition, he will respond and will bring also the best in him,
the last fight against Rigo is a boring one, let see if this will bring different scene to all viewers.

If Butler is really thinking that he is already on the advantage side just because of Casimero's current condition then just let him think that way so that he will go and charge head-on to see if he's indeed right, let's see who will pass out first. Besides, we already know that Casimero would really want that Butler will go at him and exchange punches until the bell rings. He wants an interesting match so that he can entertain his fans this time to at least make up about his match against Rigo.

Well if he think that Casimero will be an easy opponent for him just because of his past condition well maybe he will lost since Casimero will not put his guards down towards his opponent. We know how Casimero became a beast when he's opponent taunt him up so I guess this is bad for Butler if he try to get on Casimero's head. Lets just see here if he will now show the same like Rigo fighting style.

If ever he is indeed thinking that way then Butler must have a death-wish or something, but there's no evidence that Butler claims or said either way, I guess it was just a rumored one or to challenge Casimero. Whatever it is, we already know Casimero's capabilities so we shouldn't worry about Butler as we know that he only have days left before his day of defeat.

Guys, another news that I've seen. This is legit but not from PBA, I would connect this news as a threat to PBA. It's from the official FB page of Filbasket.
They're now going pro as they've said on that post and GAB have given them the license to become a pro league on March 15.
They also have a guest team from Malaysia. Check them out on their page and you'll see that news. I think this is a threat for PBA that having now a two new pro league in our country, the other is MPBL.

I don't think that those other basketball league is a threat to the PBA because the latter has a strong foundation of its existence financially. We have seen other leagues before and they say they are a threat to PBA but they just can't sustain their existence due to the fact that running a basketball league is so costly.

MPBL and especially FilBasket still have a long journey to catch before they can even say that these new pro leagues will be a threat to the PBA. I mean, these new pro leagues are just founded recently compared to the roots of PBA that will celebrate its 50th and golden year since it was founded this coming 2025. We will see if they can keep up for at least a decade.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: February 23, 2022, 09:10:13 AM
I don't think that a trilogy is not hard to make, I mean GGG is willing, and it's up to Canelo to sign. And if Canelo doesn't have any options maybe we will see this fight happening. The question is if GGG can still compete at a high level maybe in the next year or so?

I don't think it will happen.

1) GGG is interested but Canelo is not. The latter already closed the book for a trilogy since he claimed he had already won twice. What's the purpose for the 3rd?

2) Canelo has lots of options to fight. Remember that he's now moved up on the Cruiserweight to beat champions there. He has a long lineup of future fights that can be arranged instead of fighting GGG.

Nope, there is some changes regarding about the trilogy. Canelo has indeed said that things before that he ain't anymore interested to fight GGG because his eyes was already fixed and set to fight Makabu this May as he moves to cruiserweight but lately, Eddie Hearn himself said and confirmed the news that Canelo won't be fighting anymore this May against Makabu.

Here's the the new update:
Canelo Alvarez offered two fights, including trilogy clash with Gennady Golovkin

They know that the popularity of the league is slowly declining already because of lack of competitiveness that they also are the reasons why it happened.
Either way, there is no other choice but to accept teams and offers outside PH just to make the league survive.

The popularity is not declining but instead, the number of viewers is the one affected. If you reading some sports page on Facebook groups and pages, the number of comments from the fans for every news, article, or scoops are still having great numbers.

Let's wait first for what's behind the partnership. It's a good development as far as PBA Marcial says. If it will give a negative thing about the league, they will not go into a partnership. These people behind PBA are not dumb to just be in a partnership without an advantage. These are professionals in making business.

Indeed! The PBA will always be the #1 in terms of popularity and it will remain that way as it is the first professional basketball league ever introduced here locally, and yes there are some issues inside-out of the league and other factors that is why the number of viewers will be affected especially now that there is no more Alaska Aces. Hopefully, this new deal with the KBL will go strong so that they can add new flavors in the league.
786  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: February 22, 2022, 05:17:09 PM
There is an interview that GGG gave and he says that the 3rd fight with Canelo is possible:

Quote
“[Someone] shared an opinion that I was probably the one that chased Canelo away from the middleweights of the division,” Golovkin said through a translator on the podcast Walking the Floor with Chris Shiflett. “I’m not sure whether that is true.

“But I know Canelo as a fighter, and I have the keys to how to open him up, how to fight against [him].

Recent reports suggest that the long-awaited match-up could be in the offing. Mike Coppinger of ESPN reported that Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) is mulling a two-fight deal from Eddie Hearn of Matchroom to fight on DAZN. The first fight would be against light heavyweight titleholder Dmitry Bivol in the spring. The second fight would be against Golovkin (41-1-1, 36 KOs), although Golovkin would have to come out victorious against his postponed middleweight bout against Ryota Murata, which could take place in the spring in Tokyo.

I don't think that a trilogy is not hard to make, I mean GGG is willing, and it's up to Canelo to sign. And if Canelo doesn't have any options maybe we will see this fight happening. The question is if GGG can still compete at a high level maybe in the next year or so?

For sure even if he wins against Murata, he might take a damage. And we all know that he is not getting any younger.

These two famous boxers need to answer the questions regarding this fight if it could really happen as the fans is really rooting about this fight since last year. And yes maybe this time around, the fight will likely to happen as the two camps are talking continuously this year. It could probably happen this year if GGG is done with Murata before June. GGG can still keep up and dance with Canelo but I won't deny that Canelo has the upper hand compared to GGG, and maybe after that fight GGG can already hang up his gloves.

Quote
The holdup for perhaps the biggest boxing match of 2022 is reportedly coming from one camp. Canelo Alvarez has verbally committed to a trilogy fight with Gennady Golovkin on Sept. 17, but Golovkin has yet to agree to the terms, according to ESPN’s Mike Coppinger.

Golovkin and DAZN are working “to resolve issues” after last week it was reported that the fight was on “the verge” of happening.
CANELO VS GGG III might happen
787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 22, 2022, 04:03:23 PM
Cheers to all who bet for Team Lebron out there.
I lose since I bet for Team Durant who are the underdogs. Should've taken that +5.5 handicap.  Grin But, I got myself one win and it hits just exactly as the amount of the spread.

Overall, I am happy with the outcome of the event as they were competing at that last quarter of the game. Enjoyed it and I think so does the organization that will receive the money.  Wink

I lost my bet on the Overs, because I had Over 329.5 in the live bet. But my bet on team LeBron was a win, so I got a bit even, I'm glad it's over now and let's get back to the main business.

Yeah these bets are sketchy either way.  Never know what's gonna happen in an all star format.  Only reason I went with lebron is Durant didn't play so essentially their first round pick (durant) wasn't going to play.  And lebron/steph loves these games.  Lebrons team now won 5 years in a row.
But it's still money for those who take the handicap, it was a close game despite Durant was not playing and Team Durant easily cover the point spread. Actually, it could go either way, if Lebron did not make the last shot and team Durant grabbed the rebound, then for sure it could be another story and Curry would not win the all star MVP despite of his impressive performance.

I was actually talking with a buddy about it, I think if team Durant won the game with a 3 if lebron missed I would still have made steph the mvp.  It has happened in the past where maps were on the losing side.  It was the most dominant all star performance I have ever seen.  Without him team LeBron would have gotten crushed.  Either way steph put on a sick show.

I can't remember in an all star game that the MVP came from a losing team, but I remember it happened in the NBA Finals. So even if Curry had a good game, I would still think that he will not win the MVP, good thing Lebron did not waste his effort and he sink that last shot to seal the deal.

Actually there's no rule in the NBA saying that an MVP will always comes from the winning team but there is no cases about that in an All Star game yet. But maybe this time if only Steph Curry came from Team Durant. In the Finals, yes it happened once and the only player who won the Finals MVP from the losing team way back 1969 is Jerry West.
788  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 22, 2022, 03:37:58 PM
Team Lebron won the All-Star game as I predicted. But it ended by a really close score like 163-160. And I didn't know that there was a thing like that the side to reach 163 points first wins the game. The game would have been more boring if Stephen Curry especially didn't put on a great show here. He got 50 points and scored 16 three-pointers which was really insane. It was like he scored three-pointers from everywhere and showed how great player he was. He is one of the legends for me already.
With what we saw, I think there's no more debate on who is the greatest 3 point shooter of all time. Curry maybe not be in the top 1 yet per record, but eventually he will break that record and own the top 1 spot. Curry is still young and as long as he is remains healthy, he can continue to generate points especially from the 3 point line.

He is already the greatest 3 point shooter that we have seen in the NBA and will continue to pile up more 3 points in his career that it's going to be very difficult to break. And the thing is that he knows how to position himself, to go around screens and that's what makes him un-guardable and can shoot anywhere he wants, there is no range for this guy.
Absolutely,he has unique set of skills that no one can ever replace. Its impressive because he made many threes and its hard to stop Stephen Curry when he is on fire.Steph isnt just a great shooter but he is also a great playmaker, dribbler, lay ups and passer. He is just making history that can never be forgotten. Cool

Can't argue about that, in-fact he holds the most 3-points made in NBA history with few attempts and was followed by Ray Allen.
https://www.nba.com/stats/alltime-leaders/?SeasonType=Regular%20Season&StatCategory=FG3M

Stephen Curry is no doubt the best 3-pointer the NBA have ever see, watching him playing and making 3-points is like it's so easy to him and his unstoppable especially when he found the right aim. No matter how deep it is, he can always make it happen.

791  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: February 19, 2022, 11:48:29 PM
In my opinion, the Bitcoin price towards the $100k level is just a matter of time. if there is a growing number of positive sentiments for Bitcoin, from adoption to mainstream exchanges to bitcoin approvals in countries like El Salvador. I am optimistic that the price of Bitcoin still has the chance to break the $100k level maybe later this year even though it is currently experiencing a downward trend.
I think people were very positive about seeing such a price this year, however things have not turned out as we want them, the price of bitcoin is suffering an attack by the bears as they are taking advantage of the FUD created by the situation in Ukraine, and until that is resolved I think any dreams of seeing bitcoin reaching 100k during this year need to be put on hold as there is no way to have a bullish market in the case we see a direct confrontation between the US and Russia.
Maybe there is but I'm not considering the war conflict between Ukraine and Russia is having a huge impact on the price dragging down as even this the conflict never happens, drops will going to exists. I was now thinking that this year 2022 isn't bullish anymore, unlike last year. Drops can be more persistent at this time than having into the market spike. But honestly, I was liking this situation as I could even buy more anticipating the price surge in the future.

793  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: February 09, 2022, 02:14:58 PM
I read somewhere that this fight is now official.

Good to see that Ryan Garcia is fighting again, it's been a year since his last fight and that was a big fight because we saw him recover from from the knocked down and still beat Luke Campbell in the end. I guess his previous opponent is better than Tagoe, so I would still put my money on Garcia.

It's been a while now since he fought Campbell last year, it was an intense close fight! I also read somewhere that he was supposed to fight JoJo Diaz (a former world champion) last year but sadly he suffered a severe hand injury while training for the fight and had to undergo surgery, that's why the fight didn't happen. Now, he will face a 33 year old experienced boxer. If Garcia can manage to knock Tagoe out then it would really promote his name even more.
794  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: February 09, 2022, 06:32:35 AM
For the weight issues, he has to work hard to lose that excess pounds. Still months to go, so again, this is doable and hopefully that stomach issue that he had before won't come out again. That is the main problem here as it is viral and come back anytime.

If I'm not mistaken Casimero has had already a number of weight issues in the past. His latest weight issue involving his match against Butler was certainly not the first. This has become a recurring problem with the boxer. I guess there is a problem either with his personal physical conditioning training or his conditioning team.

If Casimero is having a hard time adjusting his body in his present weight class why doesn't he move to another class so that he'll get his 100% comfort?

I think his latest weight issue was just a rumored one and there's no fact that can back that claim because the truth is he's been hospitalized that is why he didn't managed to show up on the weigh-in. Nonetheless, he should get his self together as the fight is also fast approaching. IMO, he better train in the USA rather than in Mandaue City.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 08, 2022, 11:59:54 AM
I'm rooting for the Milwaukee Bucks to reach again the Finals. Their explosiveness is still at best. I also ended up thinking that we will see the same Finals matchup last season, Bucks vs Suns.

I doubt if the Miami Heat will just agree about that mate, currently they have the top spot on the East while the Bucks seats at the 2nd spot. Just like on the West, the Suns is on the top spot as well but the hot Warriors is also there willing to take the spot and surely won't go down without a fight specially now that the Splash Bros are back.

But just like you mate, I'm also thinking about the same that maybe it's the Bucks vs Suns again in the finals.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 07, 2022, 04:53:06 PM
Brooklyn Nets got their eighth consecutive loss last night. They played an away game against Denver Nuggets. James Harden wasn't able to play in this one too which was also a reason for the loss. But even while he was playing, they were still losing too. Something interesting is going on with this team and they are still not able to solve this problem. They are out of the top 6 now and this is very alarming for them. If they don't find a way out, they can find themselves out of the playoff area completely before the end of the regular season.

Steve Nash must be really puzzled about what happened to his team which started from the top spot to being bullied in the league, the Nuggets have surely dominated the game along with Nikola Jokic which added to the Nets lose streak and now placed 7th in the East. Tomorrow they'll be playing on their home with no KD, no Irving and probably no Harden on their side as well against the Celtics. They better figure this out or else they won't be playing on the playoffs anymore this season.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: February 07, 2022, 03:29:24 PM
Garcia is younger and his career is being hyped by Goldenboy, it wouldn't be surprising that he is matched to an old boxer that seem willing to lose. Just my hunch though. But this Emmanuel though I have no idea who he is looks very experience.

I'll still be rooting for Garcia. This match is designed to make Garcia look promising.

Oscar De La Hoya of the Golden Boy Promotions is the brain behind Garcia's fights, making him as a functional cash cow. This fight though is just an interim while Oscar negotiates Lou DiBella (G. Kambosos Jr's promoter) in the meantime given that Garcia will defeat Tagoe first.

Emmanuel (33 years old) is much more experienced than Garcia though with 33 bouts and 15 of that via KO, so yeah much more lower KO rate than Garcia and unfortunately the latter will just be a stepping stone to the rising star.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: February 07, 2022, 02:48:27 PM
Ryan Garcia‘s comeback trail starts against Emmanuel Tagoe on April 9 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, according to promoter Oscar De La Hoya.

Last year, Ryan Garcia managed to defeat Luke Campbell via TKO. Now, the rising strar Ryan Garcia is set to face Emmanuel Tagoe in a lightweight match. This will served as an interim fight before and if he (Garcia) will succeed then he gets to fight and challenge the undisputed lightweight champion George Kambosos Jr.

I have no doubts that Ryan Garcia will again win via KO or TKO in the first few rounds against the Ghanaian boxer Emmanuel Tagoe.

799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Logan Paul vs Mike Tyson on: February 07, 2022, 01:27:36 PM
There is especially at those who didn't able to watch Mike Tyson during his prime. The only chance for those people to watch the Legendary boxer is through an exhibition match. Be it against Logan Paul or any, Tyson should do another exhibition match. It's a great chance for those people who didn't witness how Mike Tyson is fighting in the ring.

I don't think that in the current state Tyson is close to what he could before. When I watch old videos, I understand how much he was ahead of his time (at least he was ahead of technical development) because the cameras of those years did not have time to adequately capture his movements. It's like watching hockey on an old TV (if you know what I mean) when you don't see the puck at all. I think that only those who saw those old Tyson fights live understand how fast and strong he was.

It will definitely be a pleasure to watch Mika in the ring again. His age is doing its job and it will certainly not be the same as in his prime. I think that this fight, in a sense, is also a tribute to his achievements and successes. I hope that the way it will be arranged by the organizers will make us all happy with this performance.

Of course, it's an honor to watch him again stepping in the ring either it's a professional or an exhibition match. That's what I thought as well that he can have this one last fight as a tribute for being a boxing legend but as you said, he's already aging and he's turning 56 years old this year so we can't expect anymore if he will fight again.

I don't know if you already knew mate but this fight between the Paul brothers is already far form reality because Mike Tyson himself said that he's not stepping in the ring anymore for good.
800  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too! on: February 06, 2022, 05:31:59 PM
Hi everyone, it's been awhile, just wanted to tell you that I still haven't sold a bit of BTC since 2013... if I can do it you can do it too!

Some of you may say it's a dumb decision or risky, but I'm all for BTC and positive about it. To the Moon!
Holding for you is not risky anymore. You can already make enough profit if you sell even if the price crashes. Why are you still holding though? Do you have a certain profit goal that you wish to reach or you just like holding and see how far the price can take you?
Based on your early posts, it looks like you were a doge coin enthusiast. Hope you were holding some doge coin too haha.

I've sold all my Dogecoins once Elon Musk started promoting it and turned it into a shitcoin. I only own BTC now and a few Litecoins. I will never sell all my BTC as I plan to leave some to the future generations as well. Might sell something like 10-15% once I feel the price is right, but now it's not, BTC deserves a 6 digits price. Once you sell them they're gone.

I get your point there mate. Actually, I also hold a few dogecoins last year but sold it right after with the same reason. I really commend you for the fact that you're still holding those bitcoin since 2013 without even selling a bit and planning to leave something for your successors. I really envy your patience! I think 6 digit price will come after the 2024 halving.
