781  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will the Government use the Blockchain as a tool for control? on: November 24, 2022, 09:58:31 PM
How do you see governments making use of the blockchain technology in a few years?

If I'm going to roughly guess — they'll take advantage of public blockchains to pursue people(not necessarily criminals only) who are careless concerning privacy(straightly depositing and withdrawing through KYC exchanges). With Chainalysis and such + carelessness, Bitcoin's privacy can suck really bad.

That is also what I am thinking.  I believe that government will use blockchain to spy on peoples financial transaction.  Well, on a positive note this will enable the government to track down illegal transactions and be able to know people accounts that is behind  money laundering and people who finance rebels and terrorist.  On the negative side, normal people will be exposed to government exploits especially if the person become the target of interest of the government.
782  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SBF another New York Times speaker on: November 24, 2022, 03:16:24 PM
Funny how SBF boast about him speaking on the New York times, I believe that the list of spokesperson were created even before the FTX fiasco had been revealed, but New York times must take responsibility of their action.  They should have considered removing SBF from the spokesperson since the guy had been known to misappropriate FTX client's funds.  If SBF thinks that he will be getting lots of investment after his talks, I think he will be mistaken.  I hope to see panel asking SBF about the FTX scandal coz I am interested in what he is going to answer.
783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you still win with free spins? on: November 22, 2022, 11:11:53 PM
that's couple of years back.
This was the past!
Now I think this is not possible. And I think mostly are fake. And those which are still paying I think they are not giving nothing means very low value and they set the a high value of withdraw.

So I think in these days you can't earn much from spins or from faucets. Smiley

You can't earn much from spin but you still can win with free spins.  It all depends on the luck of course.  The problem with most of free spins offered by the casino is that it has wagering requirement before we can withdraw it.  And often times we need to wager it 25x-40x which somehow make our winnings impossible to withdraw.
784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 22, 2022, 10:50:08 PM
I think I am one of the unluckiest gambler/bettor out here, today is one of my worst days again and I think I should quit betting.

I went all in on Argentina thinking their match against Saudi Arabia would be an easy win for them, and the fact that the odds were so far away against Saudi Arabia winning while it was in huge favor of Argentina caused me to be so sure that Argentina was going to win the match, and then, I went all in, hoping to make some big wins just like yesterday, but now, everything is gone, in just a twinkle of an eye...
Argentina is a big disappointment, It's still hard to believe, I quit betting until I am able to forget this experience entirely.

Just pause for a while.  We really can't say that sports betting is all skill, there is still an unknown factor that luck has huge effect.  I am sorry to hear your loss and I hope you are able to recuperate your today's losses next time.  And don't get disheartened, you are not the only one who lost on that match, I am sure there are plenty out there.
785  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Will there ever be any safe centralised exchange ? on: November 22, 2022, 07:09:23 PM
There is always risk involved when we are using centralized platform.  Besides there is no absolute safety when dealing with online platform.  So we better exercise caution and always vigilant when dealing with centralized exchanges.  There are lots of exchanges hack recorded in the history of cryptocurrency.  So better not leave your fund on the exchange.
786  Economy / Speculation / Re: Elon Musk says the price of BTC will rise on: November 22, 2022, 03:10:49 AM
A few days ago, Elon Musk responded to a friend's tweet saying that the price of BTC may increase by the end of winter.  He also asked everyone to be patient.  It means that the future of BTCL is very bright and its price will increase.  We are all waiting for this winter to end and the market to return to its previous form.  InshaAllah the price of BTC and digital currency will return to the previous room thanks

It is no news that Bitcoin will rise.  Elon is just repeating the same words  a normal informed person will say. Even you can tell that Bitcoin will rise just by looking at the price chart history  of Bitcoin and identify the Bitcoin 4-year cycle and the halving event.

We don’t need Elon Musk to tell us that the price of bitcoin will rise. We’re in a bear market, what comes next is the transmission to bull market. I don’t know exactly when that’ll be but I do know it’ll come. After crypto winter comes crypto spring & then crypto summer. There is always light at the end of the tunnel, stay strong.

True, funny how people react on Elon tweet as if they don't know that Bitcoin will eventually go up.
787  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Crypto survive? on: November 21, 2022, 11:06:22 PM
Definitely crypto Industry will survive.  Cryptocurrency Industry is bigger than this recent scandals, scams and fiasco.  The negative effect of the current FTX incident will slowly fade away as people move on after the scandal.  Eventually, the market sentiment will be normal once people moved on and carry on with their regular activities.

Many bad events have taken the order of the day in crypto, the massive dump of Luna and FTX, are both among the serious dip we have experience this year. This year is one of the worst season in the space, the market affected everyone, but the ones that suffered the most are the investors who were full of Hope about their investment, like some investors have top investment capital in Luna hoping to see it pump one day, only to wake up one morning and see everything one have saved have liquidated away, without the blink of an eye, I saw my $400 dip $50. It's really frustrating to noticed that, losing heavily in crypto is one of the factor I hope, I don't experience again.

It is indeed frustrating but it will be gone as time pass by.  The moment the market become bullish, people will forget about the incident of LUNA and FTX.
788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Still think bitcoin is coming to an end? Then you must read this <3 on: November 21, 2022, 10:47:56 PM
At least holding back also contributes that you believe in Bitcoin.

Using it to purchase also contribute to Bitcoin economy, but well he is just smart to hold back because he believe that Bitcoin will increase in price in the future.

Although the level may be different. Sometimes I am sad because the jurisdiction in my country actually prohibits crypto from being used as a means of transaction, so they legalize it as an asset. So I have never used crypto or bitcoin for transactions directly. Although if I see a lot of my friends who buy tools from abroad like Trezor can use Bitcoin. There was a hesitation to do that because I had never been at all.

At least your country consider it as an asset and doesn't ban it.  You are still lucky than those people who live in a country that see Bitcoin as illegal.  Using Bitcoin directly is quite easy. There are lots of store that accept Bitcoin.  Though I understand the hesitation because we never know if the company is legit or not and since we need to be the first one to pay, there is a huge possibility of being scammed when the company isn't legit.
789  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: November 21, 2022, 10:25:17 PM
Do you believe that sending someone to jail will cause market movements to switch? It makes no real difference who he is, and he formed so much drama. Already, it has had a massive negative impact on the crypto market; if Sam Bankman-Friedgo is put in jail, the situation will worsen. It will not be good for the overall crypto industry. There is nothing wrong with Bitcoin, but the situation has ended up causing people to panic.

I disagree.  It would be good for the situation if SBF is put in jail. Why?  Because it gave an example for those who think they can play with crypto and scam people because it is hardly regulated by the government.  Somehow scammer will have a second thought to establish company that will scam people.  In short, there will be less people like SBF that makes fool of their investors.
790  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ONE MAJOR LESSON LEARNT SO FAR THIS WEEK FROM THE CRYPTO MARKET 😥 on: November 20, 2022, 09:20:01 PM
It's true that it really damages CEX's reputation, it requires transparency from the exchange regarding the storage and allocation of the investors' funds they hold. Also remember that DEX also has several weaknesses that can make investor funds get hacked too. It's better to be wise and diversify

I think I learned that proper regulation on centralized exchanges must be implemented.  As you said, fund transparency is a must.   An exchange should be audited at least once a year in order to verify the reserve funds if it is 1:1 to the clients funds.  That way exchange users will have a peace of mind and their balance is available anytime they wanted to withdraw.  I also agree to not put our money in one basket.  Diversification is one of the key to avoid a total lose when our investment doesn't do well.
791  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Promotion and Adoption in my locality on: November 20, 2022, 09:00:41 PM
The thing is...

You can introduce someone to Bitcoin and you can even inspire them to accept it as a payment option in their shop or business, but if there are not people using it as a currency.... those businesses will stop accepting it as a payment option.

Not really since they can just leave it as that and no one knows when a customer that is willing to pay in Bitcoin come knocking.  I believe they will not stop accepting but rather keep it there as an option since local stores doesn't need to pay to maintain their stance of accepting Bitcoin.  It is different in an online payment gateway though.

Bitcoin's volatility encourage people to rather use Bitcoin as a Commodity or an investment ...so people are hesitant to use it as a "Currency" ...because they anticipate huge profits on the horizon.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

I am not hesitant to use it as currency.  After all Bitcoin is the only payment system for me to be able to transact online.  Grin.  If there is no additional option to use beside Bitcoin, then people will use it no matter how valuable they think it is.
792  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Education on: November 20, 2022, 08:32:18 PM

Is it time for the whole world to embrace, adapt, add it in educational curriculum and teach cryptocurrency to the youth?

Cryptocurrency is just a tool for profitable investment and has not been applied too much in life, so I think it is not attractive enough or something really necessary to include in education. Also, if you want to use cryptocurrency or invest in it, you can learn them on the internet and in just a few months you have all the knowledge about them.

Behind cryptocurrency is a technology and security that will greatly help in the evolution of technology and cyber security. Cryptocurrency isn't all about profits and investment, we must know that there is innovations behind that that is why it is called cryptocurrency a short term for cryptographic currency.  So I think the technology behind cryptocurrency must be included in educational curriculum.
793  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Teaching my nephew about Bitcoin on: November 20, 2022, 08:13:49 PM
Too much information will lead to confusion, at the end if you push too much knowledge in one go, your nephew will remember nothing.  You should have told it slowly and if possible in a fun way.  I agree with the earlier reply that you should have let your nephew play games with his friends and retackle the learning when he is old enough to have a grasp of the economics and technicalities of Bitcoin.
I agree, what if OP start to teach financial literacy instead of that? teach him little by little. Teach him the main purposes of money, how does it works and how money keep people away to each other. By this thing we can say, he can start to save, use money wisely and then try to introduce bitcoin and other altcoin, step by step process not teach him whole thing already.

Yeah, I think it is much simpler if OP said, "save Bitcoin it will make you millionaire one day".  That is way simpler than telling him the technicalities of Bitcoin.  Some practical lectures of setting up wallet and how transfer is made will be easily understood by 11 years old kid.  I honestly don't think that there is a need to elaborate Bitcoin to the kid  too much. After all, I believe the main purpose of the lecture is to tell the kid that Bitcoin can make him millionaire one day.
794  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: November 20, 2022, 07:48:06 PM
SBF has powerful people behind him, let alone his mother.  Besides he is spending millions of dollars of FTX clients money just to have a good term with "powerful" people.  So instead I believe some one will be jailed in SBF's stead.  They will definitely look for a fall guy unless the evidence is strong enough to make this backer back - off.
795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambling addict? on: November 19, 2022, 11:52:58 PM
Looking at the article and signs of being an gambling addict, I can say I am far from being a gambling addict.  So far I can have a full control of myself and I can easily pause or have a break in gambling without an issue.  Losses doesn't bother me and though I wanted to win huge in an online casino, I don't mind if I failed to hit them.  I also never prioritized gambling over my works and so far I am able to not borrow money even though there are times I wanted to try some strategy but can't due to unavailable funds.
796  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: St. Kitts and Nevis legalize Bitcoin Cash (BCH) as a means of payment on: November 19, 2022, 11:32:07 PM
I'm not sure how this would be a good news for Bitcoin. It looks more like they paid St. Kitts and Nevis bureaucrats to advertise themselves. I wonder what Roger Ver think about that. It might look positive in paper but I don't think it has any benefit for either Bitcoin Cash or whole crypto community in reality. It's not like people immediately start to use Bitcoin Cash there.

The news about one kind of cryptocurrency is accepted as legal tender in two different places is a positive thing to me.  It not only emphasize that cryptocurrency can be recognized as legal tender, it will also enable more investors to look at the cryptocurrency market.  Of course BCH will have the most benefits from this news but somehow this will also have an effect to cryptocurrency industry.

These kind of small places don't have as much to lose. It's enough when someone wants to use anything resembling money in there that they can change to real money. Anything that could attract tourism and is a win-win for them. I mean the total population of these places are fraction of some small town.

True, it is more beneficial to those places than BCH itself.  Its adoption of BCH put their place into the radar of crypto community.
797  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Decentraland recover? on: November 19, 2022, 11:14:23 PM

This is my first bear market experience and I know altcoins being down 90% is normal but I thought the metaverse was supposed to be the next big thing?

Have you ever considered that there are lots of metaverse project out there?  So it maybe possible that the metaverse will be the next big thing but it doesn't mean that it will be Decentraland.

I am still buying at these cheap prices just not as often now.

Would be interesting to hear any thoughts on this? Are you for or against Decentraland and if so why?

Just have patience and better check updates and community growth of the token you are holding.  Almost all the times, whenever we heart the word the "next big thing", it is almost an empty phrase.  So better to do more in-depth research and don't trust people who are hyping a project.  I am not against Decentraland, I am just stating the general situation in crypto whenever someone is hyping a project.
798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Importance of not letting others know about your crypto holdings on: November 19, 2022, 10:55:59 PM
OP all I can say is that they weren’t very good ‘friends were they. 3 bitcoin really isn’t that much, it’s quite sad that people would ruin a friendship over money, especially an amount that whilst no joke, is not exactly lottery style amounts.

A true friend should be able to tell friends that he has some bitcoin & enjoys trading crypto currency.

My friends know my involvement but they have not kidnapped me, not yet any way haha.

Not all people are the same.  You are lucky you have good natured friend.  But not all people have friends like yours.  So it is still better to be safe than sorry.  Better to keep our finances in any form secret from prying eyes.  People will ignore when it is a small amount but we can never tell if the amount is huge.  We have seen lots of news already about friends committing crime just to get the victims money.  And even the earlier reply give us link on an incident where a person is being kidnapped just to extort him of his Cryptocurrency holdings.
799  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How will CBDCs will impact Bitcoin? on: November 19, 2022, 10:25:39 PM
So, how do you guys think will affect Bitcoin?

I do not think it will affect Bitcoin greatly.  Those the implements CBDC's hasn't been a Bitcoin fan anyway.  Besides, CBDC and Bitcoin has different market and target audience.   So I do not think that it will make Bitcoin market crash or whatever.

Many think it will because they think this is another competitor and it was bigger than the normal crypto because it was backed by the government or the banks but they didn't realize that these CBDC's are slightly different with cryptos. They are pretty much the same with local currencies but they are only digitalized for online use.

It is centralized so definitely not a competitor of Bitcoin because people who had experience decentralization will never wanted go back to centralization as much as possible.  Besides I think nothing changes because it is the same as fiat money but in digital form.

800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie infinity price prediction: Future of AXS? on: November 18, 2022, 11:36:49 PM

Only time knows when. There could be a chance but it couldn't happen. But if it happens, I'll be happy to see that because I'm still hoping on and holding thousands of SLPs in my wallet.
And I just want to see the surge again for Axie prices so that I can sell them and at least get a portion of my investment there. I'm in total loss there but that's okay, I've already accepted the fate of my investments on this project so, whether I recover or not, that's okay and I've already accepted that fact.

You can also try to buy SLP at its current price.  It is too cheap considering its ATH.  I am also positive that SLP will recover if the market become bullish.  We all know that when Bitcoin rallies almost all altcoins also rally.  It is best time to buy SLP today if you have plan to because it is already on its bottom.  But of course we should always do our own research and check the condition of the market and the project's future plan.  From the looks of it, Axie Infinity developers are in for a long haul.
