821  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS - 25 Antminer S5's hosted on: January 09, 2016, 12:19:25 AM
What's the price of the hosting for just one Antminer S5 ? I might be interested by purchasing one, if, of course price is interesting.

If you pay 3 months up front, then the price is 65 CAD/KWH.. Lets say an s5 consumes 600W.. So 65*0.6 = 39 CAD/month
Current rate is 39CAD = 27.57 USD
So 27.57*3= 82.71 USD (give or take) for 3 months..

Prices (at least for the hosting) look nice. However, would it be possible to negociate the price a little ? And where are they hosted ? In North America I think (I hope I'm wrong).

They are hosted in Canada, the hosting service is A1.
822  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminers freak out every morning at 6AM. Can I use a timer to restart them? on: January 08, 2016, 06:48:19 PM
I remember a similar issue with a setting a router which would "lease" all the IP connected to it every 24 hours.

My friend was getting kick out while playing game everytime at midnight. It wasn't the ISP but his router.

Check if you cannot find such settings in your router.

It might be it.
823  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: GROUP BUY - AVALON6 - $1100 - Closing Jan 12 at 6:00 PM EST on: January 08, 2016, 05:07:45 AM

826  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: January 05, 2016, 07:57:36 PM
A chain just popped after a soft reset at 28 ASIC and missing a bit of hashrate. Any idea of what to try and such? Beside the obvious replugging and power cycling?

I bought a broken S5 last year (end of it) and i got a blade with 4X. Nothing much can do done really ... power cycle may helps if you're lucky but mine always got the 4X now ;-)

This board is broken ... i cannot hash at more 281 for the freq and it also mien for like 1 hour before it stops.

I wish we had the schematics to fix them ...

I dont have any X, though. The o's are just missing. Its the two last oo's in the chain, if that matters.

OK you have the dash. ----

Power cycle should fix it, most of the time. Especially if the unit was running all good.

828  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S7 is available at bitmaintech.com with 4.86TH/s, 0.25J/GH on: January 05, 2016, 05:56:41 PM

That's what I'm trying to get at...

I have no idea why bitmain would sell this.  This sounds like only PART of a Control Board [BB board without the IO].  WHY would they sell this?  What is there for us to gain by purchasing this?  Anyone?

Here is a picture of the disassembled BB & IO Boards, as you can see the BB plugs into the IO as do the Hash Board cables, Fans and Power. I assume that Bitmain would sell IO Boards?

I managed to buy one IO board from the US bitmain for an S5.

They had only one tho.

I wish they would do some small batches but I guess it's the cost of the FGPA that stop them from doing it.
829  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Spondoolies SP20 Issue on: January 05, 2016, 05:54:48 PM
any ideas why a asic is only running 500hz do you think reseating the heat sink  it would make a difference

Is it overeating ?

If so, someone had the great idea to turn the SP20 on the side so the heatsink doesn't stand on the side but on top. You can try that.

I know the new version SP20E has the heatsink glued so ... not sure if yours is glued or not.

You can try, it's free Tongue
830  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Dec 31 to Jan 12 Diff thread picks open. on: January 05, 2016, 04:24:50 PM
I don't know it's so hard to speculate ... but I know in the pass past we see saw somekind of a pattern where the hashrate are going on and off ... especially off in the first few days and the last days of a Diff.

Unless someone throw "new" hashrate it'll be at the end of the diff or at the start of it. (not always true ...)

It might be an old farm that buy a bunch of MW for a few day for cheap and it worth it to be turned on.

But it's probably someone testing hardware (Bitfury ?)

Speculating all the way here Tongue

+6.9%

Am I doing it right? Cheesy
no

+6.9% = torepia      is correct

I think he was kind of joking with the 69 Tongue

But yeah torepia, make sure you use this next time => +6.9% = torepia

Phil will just need to copy paste your guess to add it to the list instead of typing your name ect ... it's kind of a pain when you have 100 bid to take care of.

833  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Spondoolies SP20 Issue on: January 04, 2016, 07:51:51 PM
Thanx for that reply Herb. I'll try switching the hashing boards to see if I can get loop 3 to come up. I think I tried that in the past and the defective loop changed. I think that pointed to the board rather than the controller. If I am thinking correct, If I switch the boards and the same loop 3 isnt communicating then it is probably the controller but if the bad loop changes then its probably the hash board. Am I thinking correct? I'll play a bit later today....

Yes, you are.

Kilo,

love the mod on the 2880W PSU's, that is killer.

Maybe we need a DPS-6K triple-2000W PSU using a single 180MM fan?  Smiley

WoW !

I agree Tongue
835  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: problem with S3 antminer on: January 04, 2016, 07:48:21 PM
Looks like you have a bad blade.

Open it and make sure your cables a correctly connected.

Inspect and smell for burns.

836  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Spondoolies SP20 Issue on: January 04, 2016, 05:56:53 PM
From my personal experience, the error you got at the loop 3 can be related to the controller board.

I have one of those controller with the same issue. One loop had a test serial failure all the time. I couldn't make it work again but the hashing is board is all good. I tested it with another controller.

My guess, it's your controller. Not much you can do ... I bought a controller from spoon like 2 months ago when the BTC spiked ... The first one i received was badly packaged and was damaged but they sent me another one right away that was perfect.

838  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BITMAIN AntRouter R1: 1st wireless networking device with bitcoin mining chip on: January 02, 2016, 12:04:15 AM
I've sold out of R1's, and as promised, I am releasing my customized firmware to the community. Please note that although I refer to this package as custom firmware, it is really just a patch file. If you reset your R1 to factory defaults, you will lose the customizations. In which case, you would just need to re-apply the patch.

Truly a service to the community!  Thanks for making the custom firmware it truly is great.   Glad to hear you were able to sell out.

I highly suggest anyone controlling a U3 from a R1 to use this custom firmware.  It being able to reset on zombie is amazing.

Thanks !

I'm not sure WHAT is going on with Bitminter...

I've hashed here for awhile now -- but the last couple of weeks have been awful HORRIBLE luck...

Not sure what other to say...

Best of luck...

I'm sure we will hit a block soon enough. In the worst case, we go one more day... I hope Tongue
