8421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Litecoin die? on: January 19, 2018, 04:20:00 PM
Don't be ridiculous, LTC will never die.  As long as big brother BTC is alive and well, so will little bro LTC

This is exactly what my thoughts. Litecoin will survived as long as their is Bitcoin. Its one of the most established coins however, it just slowly gaining interest from the investors so I doubt that it will die. Its slowly recovering as well. And most gambling sites accepts Litecoin as alternative, instead of Bitcoin which is very slow as of the moment.

And since Litecoin has been in the market for so long that its not even affected by FUD and market crash, I'm sure that it will still continue to remain as one of the top 5 coins in the market for a long time.
8422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MARKET IS CRASHING : WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS ? on: January 19, 2018, 03:23:20 PM
Of course not crashing, but seeing a major correction for sure, and general loss of dominance of BTC.

It's a major crash per definition, a dip of 30% or more on the market is consider a crash. However, bitcoin remains as dominate as ever and it looks like it is already rebounded, actually almost 90% has recovered so far. The market crash is over for now but just don't celebrate because we may see another bearish trend.

The crash of market is scary for the people who just met the cyrptoworld but it has been always like this since the begining.Dont panic and do not sell your coin at the dip.As you all know whales are doing this.So wait the pump and earn your money. Good luck y'all

Do you really think these dips(and pumps) are the doing of whales? I've got my doubts about that... maybe in early days, but right now, we are looking at the 24h volume of 1,122,870 BTC(last 24h) - to make the market move whales would need at least 20% of the volume.... thats 24 574 BTC (284,542,346 USD)

Seems unlikely...

There were reports coming in that says South Korean government official have a hand on the crash that we have seen. It says "Insider Trading", which make sense as the dust is settling just now. They have release such contradictory statement that causes fuel to the FUD filled market.
8423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HODL! on: January 19, 2018, 02:42:03 PM
Currently crypto market is at about $550.000.000.000 and it was as much as over $800.000.000.000 a week ago. That's a lot of money. But, there's a lot more money to be had!

Next target is $1T, however, we just hit a wall a few days ago. But when everything settles down and every whales and bears comes back to the market, we can hit $800M pretty soon and march towards $1T. So we can really made a lot of money just mid year.

All stocks are worth about $73.000.000.000.000 (that is 73trilion), or about 140x the current crypto market. Now a pretty big chunk of crypto market are three coins, Bitcoin, Ethereum and Ripple, which together hold 70% of the total crypto market value, which leaves A LOT of money left to be put into other altcoins.

We are all about to get dirty rich.

The big 3 will really dominates the market and then there are other coins that will have their 5 minutes of fame. Much better to bought other altcoins as well, they are newcomers that will enter after this market crash, its better to be the first in line and take as much profit as you can. That's how the market goes, if you are too slow to react, you will be left out in the dust.
8424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm gonna sell my house on: January 18, 2018, 09:05:20 PM
Nah, I'm not that stupid to sell my house and invest it all in bitcoin. There's too much risk involved not just for me but for my whole family. And people around me will also think that I'm dumb to do such move. I would rather invest what I can afford for now and just be satisfied as to what bitcoin profit I can gain in the future.

I do not agree with the fact that it's worth selling your own home and buying bitcoin, because there is a more adequate way to get bitcoin. Moreover, it is not known what will happen to him, so my advice is not to take risks and be more sensible in this matter.

This is really a gamble from my view, because you don't know what the future will bring. Just like we seen, bitcoin suddenly plummeted, so if you have sold your house and then put all the money in it, I'm sure that in the last 2 days who are not getting enough sleep because of the crashed.
8425  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Headed to $40,000? on: January 18, 2018, 06:53:04 PM
By the end of the year for sure it could easily hit 40k and my personal opinion is that Bitcoin will hit roughly or close to 75k. Personally then I think 40k will be attained sometime in September or October but I am quite bullish on Bitcoin because of Lightning Network. Perhaps LN doesn't effect how I think it will, but if does effect how I think it will I think 75k is achievable all day everyday.

How big is this Lightning Network influence on the market? We can't really tell because is not yet implemented. But I'm skeptics at first with LN but if this is one of the best solution out there then so be it. They should roll it out so that we can see bitcoin price mooning again just like it did in mid December.

But first let's see if this rally could take us to $20K. We all know that after a big crash, bitcoin could soar and will surpass its previous ATH. And since it has recovered from the crash, I do hope that $20K is the next target and then we need another set of predictions as to where it will be at the end of the year.
8426  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: the return of the coin !!! on: January 18, 2018, 06:28:20 PM
Depreciation of the coin made people panic !!! Today trading has opened up, the trading floors are up 15% or more, making people regain confidence in the digital market, I am one of them because I like it and want to companion. same it long !!! How about you???  Kiss Kiss Kiss

As much as we like for the price to really make a run, we should not jump for joy here. We need to wait and observe what will be the sentiments of the market. This is like a feel out session again after a crash. Will there be a minor correction? Is this just a precursor of something big that will come in the future? So I advise you to stay easy as of the moment and take the moment to grasp what's the sentiments will be.

And I'm sure that if we break the $12K barrier, soon there will be investors jumping in again. Right now, it is still just above $11K, I expect that maybe we need a couple more days before we can say that's it over and the market has normalized.
8427  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: tricked by trolls. on: January 18, 2018, 05:54:20 PM
the trolls told me to invest in SecureCoin. I checked and the SecureCoin website was down, however the Block explorer was still up. I didn't have any confidence in the coin, but the sheer volume of trolls telling me it would 50x made me believe. I said how could 10 people be all lying to me. Also, I was fueled by greed and desperation, my whole life I've been poor and bullied by society, and I said to myself this is my only opportunity to escape my personal hell, by being rich.

Sad to say but it looks like you joined a P&D group? Usually those people behind will really hype a coin and said that it will go crazy like 50-100x but I'm sure they are all lying bastards trying to lure you into investing on that coin and they will immediately dump like it pancakes taking home the profit and you guys suffer the consequences. I hope that you learn your lessons here.

So I dumped 90 bux into SecureCoin and watched as it flatlined, instead of 50x like they said it would. Do you think SecureCoin will ever go back to its original price or higher so I can ever get back my money? Or is it gonna flatline for the rest of eternity?

IMHO, I can't really say, I'm not sure what SecureCoin is. It could go up but the chances are very slim. You are already trap and the only way to get it is to suffer a lose. Sorry to burst the bubble to you.
8428  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dip over? on: January 18, 2018, 03:11:54 PM
Do you think we've seen the worst of this dip for now?
Bitfinex cryptowatch shows the lowest deal on BTC for this time was 9,231$ which was just about a Fibonacci retracement (almost on point). I am not using TA normally, but I am considering it when thinking about the market. For now, it looks like the worst is over. This dip might be a healthy thing for the market, and CAN be the catalyst for another run-up.
What is your take on the situation?

Not by a long shot. This correction would go on unless some big whales or financial institutions once again pump the price. We may have seen that the price is on the positive side, but I'm still crossing my fingers and hope that in the succeeding days, everything is over and market will go on a bull run.

Short time trend is upwards but the danger is not over yet. The price may still go as low as 7500-8000. If the price passes over 13500 with high buying volume, we can say it is over.

So today is critical, if we see the market test $12K today then it will be just a matter of time to get to $13K. But its too early to really call that everything is back to normal now. All we can do is just wait it out for a bit.

8430  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What if we were all wrong on: January 17, 2018, 05:50:43 PM
Hello people,

First of all... yes i hold btc and altcoins Smiley i believe in blockchain and so on... anyway

But what if, when this "correction" is not a correction..
Rather the beginning of the end of the cryptomarket, as we know it...

I missed the chance to sell at the high, but never thought, that the market is falling so fast and so strong...
at the moment, we cannot say where the bottom is... almost no moves up..
just crazy... so much money goes away from the market..

You are right. It could go in either direction. It can go to 0 by tomorrow. So its better for you to get out right now. That kind of thinking really says that this crashed, "weak hands are shaken", just like we are seeing in you.

You don't need to look further, Just go and see the price history of bitcoin in September, specially during the first 2 weeks when China turns it back to bitcoin. The price drops sharply and then Jamie Dimon says bitcoin is a fraud, pulling the price even further. However, in less than a month bitcoin rebounded made all-time-highs once again.

What I'm pointing out, is that there's also a chance that bitcoin can survive this slump, and fully recovered as if it didn't hit a wall previously. So if you really think that this is just the beginning of the end of all crypto's. Then you can get out of it.
8431  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If BTC drops below $1000 on: January 17, 2018, 05:33:37 PM
if btc drops below that price i will buy 1000 bitcoin and hold it for a long time \

Cheesy but is there possible ? i don't think so

Of course, we can all hoard and accumulate all the bitcoins we want and store in our wallet for a long time. That's every bitcoin enthusiast dream, to have 1000 BTC because its getting rare as the year goes by making the price go up literally. But I don't think that is possible for bitcoin to be pull to $1K price. Because when it goes down, those people who watching from behind will suddenly jump to every opportunity to buy bitcoin at its cheapest price.

I think no, till 6000-7000K maximum

Resistance at around $10K has been broken, however, it looks like that we are back at $10K again. I'm sure this is because many people are now buying at this price. They don't want to miss this very opportunity, and it may not be seen again. Better to get in, while the price is depreciating.
8432  Economy / Speculation / Re: I will need to get some money out of crypto before end of Feb, sell now or wait? on: January 17, 2018, 04:58:12 PM
I maybe need about $3000 for the upcoming vacation. Currently hold 0.1BTC but about $12.000 in altcoins.

Any suggestions from experienced traders/members? Sell now or risk it and maybe have to sell even more back in late February (no later than 5-10th March).

Why don't you need to sell today? At the current price? Don't risk it dude. Just hold on your bitcoins and wait till the price goes up. I'm also not a experience traders, but just used your common sense here. I know that is really painful to see the price of bitcoin crashing below $9K, but I surmised that the road to recovery is just around the corner. Maybe around 24-48 hours we can see the price going green again.

Alright, I'll wait then.
I can probably even wait until 5-10th March, but I definitely hope it goes back up by then.

Cool. By then we hope that the price has already gone up.

I'm not an experienced trader, but I think the fall may be dragged on for a month or two, so that the simpletons will drain their money. Not the best time to withdraw funds. I would use cash.

Doubt though that the current slump will dragged for the next couple of months. It went below $10K, but last time I see it looks like the price is slowing getting up and just above $10K price, barely.
8433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin holder's dilemma on: January 17, 2018, 04:28:57 PM
I prefer to take profit from the investment and keep the initial investment on Bitcoin, or probably I would add some Bitcoins more to the initial investment. Personally, if we really well-understood Bitcoin and knowing the potential Bitcoin. I believe we should keep throwing our money to Bitcoin.

That method is fool-proof. I always used that strategy. I booked my profits when bitcoin reaches $18.700 last year and take my profits and keep my initial capital intact. And it looks like another buying spree that we are seeing, so I might as well buy bitcoin tonight.

me myself think this is the best time to sell your bitcoin. you might consider to invest in altcoin instead than bitcoin. cause bitcoin is not an company. what bitcoin do is for helping transaction and seems its fail cause bitcoin transaction fee is so high rather than other coins such as ripple and XLM. im afraid soon bitcoin bubble will pop. thats the reasons why you must sell it now. there is alot more reason to sell it and invest to altcoins. the decisions in yours hand and the risk is yours. its true there might be a chance for bitcoin to increasing but i dont want take such risk.

Why sell now when the price is dipping so fast? But altcoin is also suffering? If you really want to sell, then just dump a few. There's no need to dump them all at this current price. As far as altcoins, yes, I would agree that is good as a investment, but I wouldn't shift around my funds to it. Altcoins is much volatile as bitcoin, and I wouldn't risk to invest it today. I would rather wait and see how thing's will be in the next days to come.
8434  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The future of BTC, ETH and LTC? on: January 17, 2018, 03:44:59 PM
Everything balls down to the community and unless bitcoin starts showing some reasons why the support should drop for it and be shifted to Ethereum or litecoin or any other altcoin, then I do not see how bitcoin would be stepped aside in this case. This is the reason we see so many altcoins suffering when bitcoin seems bullish. However, market is changing every time, but I do not see how ETH stands a chance to make bitcoin step down.

Yes, times have changed a lot. There are a lot of altcoins that took the hype from bitcoin in the last month, like ETH, Ripple and LTC, but I don't think that they fully take it over unless they can really gain the support of the community. Although bitcoin has many issues that is still unresolved, that's not enough to sway investors from moving out their funds and go to altcoin market. So there's no chance for the alt's to make bitcoin step down even for a bright moment.

And now, since the market is crashing, bitcoin's dominance will go up again. After everything settles down, investors who have sold off will go back to bitcoin because the price is cheap at the moment. And then it will enjoy another rally while altcoins will suffer and go back to its normal price.
8435  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices not rising! should we trade or hold? on: January 17, 2018, 03:06:14 PM
You should only hold and buy bitcoin right now because the price of bitcoin its getting low its time to invest, dont panic if the bitcoin its getting low its normal but later or other day its back to the getting higher because bitcoin have potential to the world of crytocurrencies.

I agree we don't need to panic guys, well for me this is the time i've been waiting for, bitcoin is getting low and i need to buy more and hold it ,i know bitcoin will recover the price and it is increase again on the other day.

Yup, we don't really need to panic in this times of uncertainty. Actually we should look at it at the bright side. This is the perfect time to buy bitcoins instead of dumping it all the way. This is how the whales did it, wait for the market to crash and then buy bitcoin and accumulate more. It will go up, I have seen similar crashes and bitcoin rebounded and push the price to new levels. We just have to wait guys. Patience and Holding is a virtue here.

As far as trading, if you know how to really do day and short trading, this is also a good opportunity. But if you don't have any experience with it, would rather wait and not trade in this volatility that we are experiencing.
8436  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Internet Required for retail purchases? on: January 15, 2018, 06:27:22 PM
It is doubtful that even in the long-term future everyone is going to have internet on their smartphone.

Credit cards can work on either a phone line or internet, so it would be ubiquitous as opposed to bitcoin which cannot work on a phone line?

One hundred years at the beginning of the last century ago nobody was able to purchase an airline ticket, watch a tv show, use a credit card, make a mobile phone conversation or use the internet.
That doubt of yours reminds me of people arguing a man can't fly.

Just because we have planes does everyone use them daily?  No, they aren't always suitable and there are barriers to access (cost, distance to airport).  There are limits to how far cryptocurrency can reach, its defined by limits of presence of internet infrastructure and reliable access.  Might not be a concern to you but globally its an issue.

I don't know where you live but around here almost everybody can afford a low cost airplane ticket.
If it where for 3rd world countries like Philippine or Somalia then we would still not be able to have two pairs of shoes.

Credit cards are global, nobody gives about what happens in the 3rd world, if they even can afford a wallet to hold that cc card.
Same with bitcoin.
Nobody gives a damn about those that can't afford because economically they represent 0.
Mercedes is not targeting Somalia, nor does any other car maker.

Internet in the Philippines appears in the mid 90's, and almost 50% of the population has access to the Internet today.

Quote
Internet in the Philippines first became available on March 29, 1994, with the Philippine Network Foundation (PHNet) connecting the country and its people to Sprint in the United States via a 64 kbit/s link.[1][2][3] As of 2016, more than 44,000,000 people used the internet in the country, accounting for 43.5% of the total population.

Did you know that the Philippines is the "Texting capital of the World", everyone owns at least 2 smartphones here. Go use Google and see it for yourself.

And please get your facts straight.

There are still many parts of the world, including stores, taxis, but also people with smartphones, that do not have Internet. It is doubtful that even in the long-term future everyone is going to have internet on their smartphone. So how is bitcoin going to work for retail transactions? Imagine a store without public wifi. Can transactions be processed if only the vendor has Wifi?

Credit cards can work on either a phone line or internet, so it would be ubiquitous as opposed to bitcoin which cannot work on a phone line?

Almost all of the countries are developing so I guess they can have access to the Internet in the future even Africa. The country that I can also see that has no chance of having a Internet access or heavily restricted are North Korea, to an extend Cuba, or any country under a authoritarian regime. So I guess there won't be a problem using bitcoin as mode of payment in a public store or restaurant in the long run.

Yesterday I've tried to log in to mew using private key and I got this message:

When this become not safe method? Any thoughts?

I think MEW only pasted it because there's a lot of phishing in the last couple of weeks. I have bookmark MEW myself and I double or triple check before accessing my MEW wallet using my private key and so far my funds are intact.

I remember last week or so that there are news going around that MEW was hack, specially on twitter, however, MEW already shoot down that news and officially releases a statement on twitter  that is pure FUD.

If better to be safe that sorry. Do all precautions so that we can't be phish (DNS phishing.)
8438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Panic leads to profit on: January 15, 2018, 05:30:36 PM
panic causes profit for ourselves because with panic sell we can get the coin with a cheap price and if the coin is up in the near future it is our own profit in making profit.

Exactly, if we see that the market is red and still going down, its a perfect buying opportunity because those who are selling didn't know that they should hold in time of crisis and not to panic and keep calm and wait till everything settles down.

Yes, because often appear some false information to mislead people, caused people to panic, panic will put the coin in her hand is sold, which may lead to a slump in the price of the coin, and people there would be no profit can be gained, and can also be a loss

That's what you call FUD. There are really members here who loves to do that because they either want to cause uncertainly by creating false information and shake the market, or they are being paid by someone to do that so that they can buy bitcoin at cheap price once again. So its better not to listen specially newcomers in the market. Usually they are the target of such malice attack so don't believe anything you read, its better to validate first before you make your decision.
8439  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin value rising on: January 15, 2018, 05:11:15 PM
What is the main reason of the rising value of bitcoin and what are the reasons of it falling?

Theory of supply and demand. Generally, as bitcoin demands keeps increasing and the bitcoin can't have difficulty supplying it, then the price increases. And then there's the positive news coming from different sources. This makes people go to the market and buy bitcoin resulting to the price going up. And vice versa, if there's a bad news, it cause the price to go down drastically.

Another reason is manipulation, there's a unwritten rule that whales do sometimes want to manipulate the price is either direction. Remember they can only do that because they have huge amount of bitcoins to begin with. It maybe a individual or group or individuals or sometimes financial investment company.

8440  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Loss in trading on: January 15, 2018, 12:07:18 PM
The loss is expected in trading. Successful Traders always experience loss, but they always manage how to get things right by not panicking and staying calm in every situation.

In every journey in life, one must experienced a lost so that we will successful in the future. So trading is not a exemption. I myself have experienced a lot during the course of my journey, specially in the beginning. There are days that I want to quit and think that trading is not for me. However, I kept on going and learn a lot from my past mistakes. I say that I'm doing good right now and I'm very thankful that I decided to stay in trading.

Well if you buy coins at a high price then you sell it at a lower price, definitely you will lose. If you think the coins you buy gets low, you shouldn't sell it, you just hold it for a while and wait for the price to get higher so you can get profit. Don't hurriedly sell your coins and be patient to win in the trading.

Of course that is not the correct way and you can't really profit that way, unless the coins started to rise again. And you will only get a small profit, as compare to getting it when the price is extremely low. Patience is really the key here. We need lots of them. We should learn how to manage it so that we can profit in the future.
