I'm laughing hard.. haha. And a lot of people don't realize they're actually being paid *even less* than that.

If people had stuck to the original halving schedule, everytime their X/mh hit a block they would get: 420 @ 1,100 (prior to halving). So X/mh=462,000 satoshi.

Now that people demanded an accelerated and more aggressive halving, you see X/mh providing 210 @ 1,100 (current low). So X/mh=213,000 satoshi.

So for the same amount of work, you're being paid less than half of what you were before. Considering difficulty has gone up, technically you're being paid far, far less than half.

Do you see why many of us were against such a schedule? Especially considering it hasn't provided foundational boost for value.

+1, spot on.

EDIT: maybe criptoe, hardcoreminers and others can put an automated hashrate ticker on their site per coin?

You mean for each different coin we have in our pool?
PM me with some ideas if you like, im open for enhancements Smiley

I'm currently working on a Single Sign On system across all pools. Implemented in MPOS.

Kind regards,

HCM
http://nlg.hardcoreminers.com

This is possible with MPOS through the API, if the pool has the live API enabled.  A user account needs to be created to access the API functions, which can then be parsed out from the JSON data.

On CripToe.Com, you can pull these stats from http://criptoe.com/api/stats.  The API from my pool will return the following, with the relevant code highlighted:

{"time":1405866133,"global":{"workers":3,"hashrate":0},"algos":{"scrypt":{"workers":3,"hashrate":25445444.266666666,"hashrateString":"24.27 MH"}},"pools":{"guldencoin":{"name":"guldencoin","symbol":"NLG","algorithm":"scrypt","poolStats":{"validShares":"5836440","validBlocks":"1443","invalidShares":"12008","totalPaid":"1408797.18775920000859969"},"blocks":{"pending":9,"confirmed":1423,"orphaned":7},"workers":{"GaVgch4gm1ASjH2kabi6Mizzr7dsEWkFnJ":{"shares":80640,"invalidshares":0,"hashrateString":"16.80 MH"},"GUzAR68FpBm2Vsf3gMsrLRrBz33jLNQrw8":{"shares":32768,"invalidshares":0,"hashrateString":"6.83 MH"},"GZXckkrHVUbHdKtnD5u8Yz2yhB7x6Jtrks":{"shares":3072,"invalidshares":0,"hashrateString":"655.36 KH"}},"hashrate":25445444.266666666,"workerCount":3,"hashrateString":"24.27 MH"},"klondikecoin":{"name":"klondikecoin","symbol":"KDC","algorithm":"scrypt","poolStats":{"validShares":"656794","validBlocks":"3222","invalidShares":"3293","totalPaid":"12646.60493387000001597"},"blocks":{"pending":0,"confirmed":3196,"orphaned":13},"workers":{},"hashrate":0,"workerCount":0,"hashrateString":"0.00 KH"},"potcoin":{"name":"potcoin","symbol":"POT","algorithm":"scrypt","poolStats":{"validShares":"96712","validBlocks":"1","invalidShares":"407","totalPaid":"207.89999999"},"blocks":{"pending":0,"confirmed":1,"orphaned":0},"workers":{},"hashrate":0,"workerCount":0,"hashrateString":"0.00 KH"}}}

Do we have any p2p pools? Most links to pools (including the official one) on the op are dead

I'm running a NOMP pool for it at CripToe.Com.  It might actually be the only pool up and running for KDC.

-Fuse

I respect your work but why not make other coin than try to bring bak this dead one?

I've thought about that... trust me I have.  I could just as easily, if not more so, make KDC2 or whatever.  Do a large enough premine for a 1:1 exchange for existing bagholders, and call it a day.

That being said, I liked KDC when it came out.  IMO, the original dev was on track to do something good... until the fork and the coin fell apart.  I just want to do right by the community and give them what they want.  They want KDC back.  I know I'm not breaking any speed records with releasing the new code, but I am dedicated to making it work.

Call me a glutton for punishment lol.

Why is the trade volume so low?

Unknown exchange.

Even on bittrex the volume is peanuts.

People hold on see it as long term investment I don't know. Grin
It's also a bit unknown an undiscovered little gem.

Even with a low volume, the price is on a nice gradual increase over the last day or two.  The announcement of Guldenpay/litepaid is probably driving a little of that.

I'll make a recommendation right now:

Buy NLG right now if you have the money.

One of the cool features of this system is that its a standalone system which only requires a LitePaid account. Its a webapp that works on all major devices.

Steps for a merchant are:

1. Make a free LitePaid.com account.
2. Copy the API Key provided by LitePaid.com.
3. Go to Guldenpay.com with the device you want to use for accepting Guldencoin and enter the API Key.
4. Thats it! You can bookmark Guldenpay.com or save it on your homescreen and it works like a PIN terminal (only better...).

If you'd like you can even make a free account yourself and check it out. Also if a merchant doesn't have a device, Bitstraat can provide that.

Kudos to the team for this.  It is simple, efficient and it opens NLG up to a lot more merchants.

Keep up the good work, NLG team.  You guys are doing great!

Who pays for HBOgo?  It's free for people who have HBO, so all you have to do is know one person who has HBO and use their login on your device.

Or you pay $8 to not have to track down a friend with HBO.  Besides, most of my friends are in one of two groups... those who already cut the cord with cable and are in the same boat as me, or those with cable TV and they only get the most basic package.

$8 for the year, man... it's a drop in the bucket.

Hopefully I've satisfied that previously unhappy customer. If anybody else has any troubles with their purchase, please contact me on here or on cryptothrift (prefer this option).

Thank you everybody!

Tygeade was able to resolve my issue, posthaste.  I would do business with him again, and I would encourage others to check him out if they are looking for a working HBOGo account.

Thanks, mate... you made my pregnant wife a very happy woman.

I purchased an account from "BitCoinJessica"(the account linked in the OP) on Cryptothrift back in April.  At that time it was $12 in BTC.  It worked fine on my Roku for about 2 months, and then it crapped out and said there was no subscription.  I immediately sent a message on Cryptothrift to the user explaining the situation, and asked for either a refund or a remedy to the situation.  I received no response.

I would not do business with this person until they explain why they won't make this situation right.

If you prefer to handle this in PM, feel free to PM me.

During this time you can make two decisions:

1.  You can claim scam, or death of the coin, or whatever... and sell all your coin, driving the price down to next to nothing(at an already rock-bottom price) for long term investors to scoop up.

or

2.  Hold your coins in the wallet for however long it takes us to make the new wallet, and just put it out of your mind... coming back when KDC is back on the rise.

Only one of those things will bring you happiness later on.  You decide which.

For me... I'm happy with the weak hands getting out.

Fuse is not a scam.

He is a real guy, brilliant developer, and is working hard to put Klondikecoin back on the map.

Give him the time he needs.

Thanks, mate.  I appreciate the kind words.

I have a lot of vision for this coin, a couple of the things I want to do with KDC isn't done anywhere else.  As such, it's taking time to plan it out.

As I said before, the CripToe team has been involved with a lot recently in our personal lives.  It's taking time to get together and work out some of the details on the more complicated changes we want to make.  Just give us time.  It's not like the coin is going anywhere, and there really aren't that many people mining it anyway.

Go mine something else for the time being.  Hold your KDC and forget about it.  When we release the new version, come back and profit.  It's that easy.

Stop making it out like KDC is a scam or it's the end of the world.  It's just in hiatus.  Plain and simple.

873  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][POT] PotCoin Launches Today 01/21 @ 4:20 on: July 10, 2014, 11:09:10 PM
I am sure almost everyone is sick of reading about legal issues.
But I still have one more important thing to say.

If marijuana is ever 100% legal, then there will be very little need for potcoin.
The main reason for marijuana vendors to use bitcoins or potcoins or another digital currency is because vendors have difficulty opening and maintaining a credit/debit card merchant account and because of issues handling large sums of cash.
I am sure someone can post stories about a few banks which openly process payments for marijuana, but that's the exception and not the rule.  If you have no experience maintaining a high-risk merchant account, then please don't even comment.  Keeping an account open is not easy.  There are plenty of legal industries which are considered high risk and thus are shunned by visa/mastercard and various banks.  Any bank which accepts high risk merchants is probably a bank which has issues/problems.  Banks which are very successful don't want/need to work with legally risky merchants.  The bad banks are often desperate (or poorly managed or have other serious problems) and therefore choose to work with risky merchants or otherwise they may go bankrupt.  I know because I sell high risk items on-line and only the worst payment processors and worst banks will accept me.

As long as the marijuana industry continues to have legal issues which make it difficult for marijuana vendors to process payments, there will be opportunities for alternative payment systems such as potcoin.  If you want potcoin to become popular and valuable, then don't hope/pray for 100% legal marijuana.  100% legal marijuana = no need for potcoin

I don't think that's necessarily true.

That's like saying without Silk Road, BTC is useless.  Potcoin will always have a place in the medical/recreational marijuana economy as long as people make sure it has a place.  Legal or not, Potcoin will have it's uses.

For instance... I can't buy MMJ with Potcoin yet, but I can sure as hell buy vapes and such.  Vapes aren't illegal, and yet I would use my coin to buy them.  I could use my credit card or cash when I order from places, but I'd rather use crypto.  I'm sure there are a lot of other people out there like me that think the same way.  As such, it's safe to assume that there are people out there that would rather pay for medical/recreational marijuana, and related goods, with Potcoin.  It's not just about banking, mate.  It's about a community coin that works for the community's wants and needs.

Just a reminder:

FYI:

I will be taking Pot.CripToe.Com offline this weekend.

In an effort to consolidate my pools and servers, I have started a NOMP pool at CripToe.Com.  If you are mining on Pot.CripToe.Com, please move your miners over to CripToe.Com.

I will be shutting down the stratum instance shortly.  The pool front end will remain open until Saturday 12pm PST so that users can initiate a payout of their balance.  Any balances remaining after 12pm PST on Saturday will be sold off.  I will manually set payouts to 1POT for all accounts in the DB to help with this process.

If you have any questions, please send me a PM.

Thanks,

Fuse

Also, I am giving out free cake and hugs to miners mining on CripToe.com!

I think I fixed it.
I had to setup a dualboot with windows to reproduce the problem and found it pretty quick.. Apparently rendering fonts is still different between windows and linux/osx. It's a pretty technical problem, I'll spare you the details.
Bottomline: the font's exported from fontforge had some mistakes that -for windows- messed up rendering even though the font shouldn't be used for characters other than Ġ.. Fontsquirrel's webfont generator fixed that. (great tool: http://www.fontsquirrel.com/tools/webfont-generator)
It also added .eot fontfile (legacy windows IE support!).

I've learned that I shouldn't have released this font right away as 1.0 'release' stuff and I should have done some more research about cross-platform font rendering. Sorry for that.
I assume it's fixed for everyone now (after reload). Please let me know if there are still problems.

Confirmed working.  I had a hunch it had something to do with the font files in the CSS.

I'm sorry I could be more of a help today, got wrapped up at work pretty quick after our last PM.  I'm glad you got it resolved though.

What are you looking for price wise, and where are you located?

I was a 11b with the 2/187th back in the day.  I wouldn't mind picking up some new camo to relive the glory days.

Fuse, take a valium, Cannabis is illegal everywhere... even Canada because Canada signed the opium treaty like everyone else.

Viceroy... you're 100% incorrect again.

There are a number of countries that in one form or another have legalized marijuana cultivation/use/sales.  A simple Google search would have proven that to you.

I'm done with your shit though.  Hitting the ignore button.

You're a troll.  A delusional one at that.

Hey, Viceroy... suck a dick.
