I don't know about everyone else, but if it was 1.5% a month, I would be more inclined to hoard all the coins I could get.  I think at 1.5% per year, it's a nice surprise when it mines a small bit of change, instead of something that I'm expecting all the time.

Now I wouldn't complain if it was 1.5% per month, but I would probably hoard more than I have.  Just my $.02

So, .... I have some choices, and they look like:

1. 3 GPU, 1.4 MH/S, maybe lower wattage, and lower total cost. These R9 270 GPUs.
2. 2 GPU, 1.5 MH/S, (the one being offered by Mark at about 800 USD / 35,000 PHP)

And I don't necessarily have to get the ASRock BTC mobos that can do 6 cards too.

I've asked Mark a few times about his rigs, and he's told me a few times now that he's not ready to sell them.  I know you're more local to him, so if he's willing to sell to you and you can snag them, I would do that.  The R9 280X Toxic cards are legit, and the resale value should be higher than the 270s.  But in all honesty, the heat / noise reduction of the 270s would be worth it in the long run.

I'm going the route of the 270/270Xs from here on out.  I'll have to run more boards, but I really like the fact that while mining, these gigabyte cards are near silent.

Bejeebus... 24 MBs.  Someone down under is a baller.  What's the local slang for someone like that?

I figured I'd post here before I post elsewhere:

[WTS] GPUs - SOLD
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=411613.new#new

WTS 3 x Sapphire reference 7950s.  Mined and lightly used for literally less than 3 months.  My mining partner bought them and then never ran them.  They sat forever in the corner of his house not being run due to the fact that his place had no AC and summers here get into the 110+ range.  I took them to my place and ran them for like a month before I gave them back when he wanted to use them to game.

They come in the original boxes with I believe all the cables and such.

I would like to sell the 3 together to save on shipping.  Would like to get $250 a card, including shipping, so $750 for the 3, shipped.  Will take TAG or BTC.

PM me if you're interested.

My partner is bringing them by tomorrow, I can take pictures if needed, but I assure you that they are in VERY good condition.

-Fuse

Edit- In case anyone is wondering why I would sell the extra hashpower, it's because my partner has agreed to house our newer 270X rigs in his place.  He lives in a small bungalow style guest-house and he has to house the rigs in his main living area, so he wants to sell these to get quieter 270s.  I can't house equipment at my place because I am on a reduced power cost program has a maximum KWH per month limit.  The cards are great cards, they just don't fit our operation plans at this time.

Litecoin mining comparison page shows no real difference between the Non-X and X cards, on all the R9s.  I was really tempted to buy the non-X version of the 270Xs, but the 3 fan gigabyte design is pretty slick.  Near silent, and stays cooler than a polar bear's toenails.

But considering the 2 fan gigabyte is only $179 on Amazon Prime, I might have to buy a few more cards in the next week or two.

If someone was told they have no coins, post your username here so I can publicly post your transaction log. Thanks.

Transaction log doesn't mean anything if the back end wasn't recording the transactions.  Again, you'll need to provide the stratum log and cronjob logs.  That would be the definitive source of whether or not they were owed coins.

Also, you should start a new thread for this.  This thread is already a dumping ground of info.

Some people PMed me and were missing one of the 3 items, they had a zero balance, or I couldn't find an account with either the username or IP they gave me. If you didn't get any coins, you fall under one of these three categories. I still have 3 PMs I didn't read yet. I'll check those 3 when I get off work.

Edit: This is for Coinye coins only. I did not process GPC or CKC coins yet. I want to get these taken care of first. I intend to bring the other two pools back online later next week.

As a pool OP myself, I still don't understand why you are requesting people to contact you.  You have a DB record of what people are owed.  You have the ability to move the wallet.dat file to another computer to manually do payouts.  By now, the DDOS script kiddies are long gone and on to the next target.  Turn the server back on and either move the info onto another computer to manually do transactions, or start the server back up and let it process them by itself.  Even if the user didn't have the wallet address listed in their account, you have their email address and you can contact them for it.  Going the extra step to clear your name would go a long way, instead of leaving people hanging and still wondering where their coins are.

However... if people were mining and you're saying that they have a zero balance, and they are saying they should have coins... well you need to straighten that out.  Whether you're saying that the coins are lost, or you're able to undeniably prove they have no coins.  Stratum logs would show what they submitted, and when.  Cronjob logs would show what was paid out, and when.  If the two don't match up, you're going to hear a lot of accusations still, and you might want to just give up on the ideas of running a pool.

Either way, you can do yourself a favor and post a screenshot of the server wallet balance, and then post another with the transaction log when you get the balance as close to zero as possible.  This would go a long way for your credibility.  This and providing copies of all the logs to anyone that requests them... specifically the cronjob logs and the stratum logs.

Just being honest, and trying to help you out.

We have Munchkin but I have not played yet.  Dutch Blitz, Rack-O (card games), Sequence (card +board), and Zombies!!! (board game) are currently our favorites but we have a closet nearly filled with various board games and card games.  I tried a pen&paper RPG once, but as it turned out all of my friends were a-holes as dungeon master so... probably wasn't as much fun as it could have been.  That Pathfinder Adventure game looks pretty cool.  90 minute game time (I assume for scenarios) isn't bad at all for a fun evening.

Yeah, supposedly it plays like pen & paper, with character sheets and whatnot, but the cards tell the story.  So no real need for a DM, which is what my circle of friends would suck at doing.  We can roll dice and bash on baddies all day, but we'd be horrible story tellers.

If you ever get a chance, and you haven't already, check out TableTop on Geek & Sundry's Youtube channel.  Will Weaton, from Star Trek / Stand by me, hosts a tabletop game with friends.  Different game every time, and every episode is worth a watch.  The wife and I watched them all via our Roku, and it sparked our desire to game more.  The dragon age dual episodes was one of my favorites.

Will I ever get back my coins from Icyhash?   Cry

EDIT: How is the stratum DDoS related to the frontend being down? I thought stratum was on a seperate server and you can just disable it...
EDIT2: Okay, I see the post... is it too late to claim my coins now?

I hope not...I sent my request in via PM yesterday, within the 24 hours, and have yet to hear anything back at all. Sad

I'm going to choose not to use profanity or skepticism towards the pool owner spork at this time (it is hard tho), and give him til the end of today to make things right.

Other people said they were getting paid, so I hope that ends up being the case for us too.

Lots of newbie accounts were saying they got paid... keep that in mind.  If you go back and look, most of the people claiming they got paid were newer accounts, possibly shills or sock puppet accounts he controlled.

If he doesn't respond, I'd call it a wash and not expect the coin any time soon.

I should have 2 x Sapphire VaporX 270x cards on the way plus stuff to assemble two more rigs.  I just need to populate them with cards which will be challenging.  I am thinking I'll try to get one filled with 270x and one with 280x.

I have two stray Sapphire DualX 7950 cards that don't have a home atm... they didn't play well with other 7950 cards.  Interestingly, this morning as I was shopping for the parts, my wife said she wants me to show her how to build a miner and set it up.   Shocked  So, I think I'll help her pick out a regular computer case, etc to put those two cards in.  (I expect my monthly board game quota will go up though.  LOL)  But how cool is that.

What do you play, Frank?

I've been really into card games lately... Fluxx, Munchkin, etc.  I've been debating really geeking out and getting the Pathfinder Adventure Card Game.  It sounds like a bunch of fun for someone like me who loves RPGs but never did pen & paper.

I found some Asus AMD R9 270x 2gb ddr5 for about 13,000 PHP. / 44 = 295.45 USD. The 7950s I saw in late December are all gone.

Dabs, have you seen this thread yet:

He's in Taiwan, so he might be able to do a cheaper shipping option for you and save you some coin/cash.

People are in so much of a hurry for things to happen...TAG is only 10 weeks old, we didn't create it for the short term...

jk...

Keep up the good work, TAG team.  People will wait for things to happen, so go at whatever pace works for you.

Off-topic - Fuse... how did Coinye go... I tried to get into two pools... could not connect... could not be bothered and went back to mining TAG.

It was shady to say the least.  The wallet was password protected, so there was a mad scramble at the time of release to get it opened and set up to mine.  The main site, main thread and twitter all didn't release the password.  Some guy posted it in the forums about 10 minutes after the first couple pools were mining at difficulty 1.  Obvious insider info.  So then once the majority of the pools got going, there were quite a few that were obviously skimming coins.  So by the time I was able to get miners pointed at a good pool, the difficulty was already 16.  I mined through the night without issue and banked about 530k coins.  I turned my miners back over to TAG less than 24 hours later.

But the shadiness of some of the pool ops was really sickening.  I called one of them out on it.  He was trying to tell people there were various issues for a couple hours, but still advertised the pool in the thread trying to get people to mine.  He had a period of about 40 minutes where there were no blocks being found, and the site was hashing at about 700MH.  So more than likely, he swapped the wallet out, turned off the cronjobs, and pocketed the coins for 40 minutes.  He claimed he didn't know what happened... yeah, ok.

I'll tell you... being a pool OP really opens your eyes to how things run and how other OPs do things.  It makes it really easy to know when an OP is scamming someone, because you know the symptoms of "problems" and what should and would happen when they are resolved.

So yeah... I've got ~530k Coinye.  You buying? lol

First solid result for the Gigabyte R9 270X:

460kh @ 65 degrees with 1600rpm on the fan... honestly can't hear the card over the rest of the system.

Code:
--gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1500 -I 17 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 24000

Going to play a little with the values to see if I can get it closer to 490kh.

-Fuse

EDIT-

Code:
--gpu-engine 1150 --gpu-memclock 1500 -I 18 -g 1 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 24000

Gets me 475kh with about the same temps, and maybe 1800RPM on the fan.  But about 1 in 20 shares is a stale... so not sure what the overall efficiency would be.  Back to the tweaking...
1517  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAG] TAGMining.Com- Try your chance at our weekly jackpot! on: January 09, 2014, 01:26:18 AM
Engine / Memory / KH / Temp / Watt (all @ 24000 TC, stock cooler)

1030 / 1500 / 445 / 60C / 163w
1080 / 1500 / 467 / 61C / 168w
1115 / 1500 / 480 / 61C / 172w
1130 / 1500 / 485 / 61C / 174w
1145 / 1500 / 492 / 61C / 175w

lookup-gap? powertune?  Intensity?  I've tried with -g 2 -i 13, and it's craptastic.  Tried with -g 1 -i 17-19 and same thing.

I'll keep plugging away.

If you fail to mention any of these, you will not receive your coins. I will not reply to your PM. Keep an eye on your wallet.

AGAIN, I ASK YOU... PLEASE STOP THROWING AROUND THE SCAM RUMORS. I'm probably one of the nicest system admins you will ever meet regardless of what some of you will think.

Two things here...

First- you don't need people to contact you.  You should have database records that show what people are owed.  If you're a DBA, query the DB and just do the payments manually.

Second- not trying to troll, but it's hard to believe that you're one of the nicest system admins.  You gave no explanations to where people's coins went until just now, and even now it's still doesn't sound legit.  Then you threatened to erase the server because you were pissed.  Grow a pair and man up.  If you weren't ready to run a pool, don't sit there and throw a fit when people call you out on how your pool wasn't running properly.  Whether you scammed the coins or not, you should have had the integrity to say sorry and work to make things right.  Not bash the people who are mad because they lost time and money mining on your pool last night.

Yes, I've been scammed here.... like 500k Coinyecoins, and woke up especially at 4:00 AM to mine it :/

Why didnt you add autopayout in account then?
I did it and withdraw 2.6 mils without problem..
Sorry, but it is your problem to trust new pools on hyped up coin.. you always have to wallet added and autopayout..

This is the reason people aren't being paid out. Still constant harassment... I said numerous times I do not scam coins. People keep saying I scam coins, so I'm rather pissed off and am not motivated to bring it back online. I could really care less about being honest. I might rm -rf the server.

There... fixed that for you.

This isn't the reason, spork.  You know that.  You know that during the 1000% round you were skimming coins.  There is no reason for the round to go that long, and the resulting payout for some during that 20 minute round be half of what it said it was supposed to be for one round.

I run a pool spork.  I know how the backend works.  Either you had issues with the cronjobs being locked up and not processing, or you switched out the wallets, and scammed the coins during that downtime.  And even if your cronjobs failed, when they ran again, the cronjobs would query the DB and account for all the missing past work.  Not account for half a round's rewards once it came back up.  Just fade away already.  You're pissing people off more by playing innocent.
