Honestly, I think you, me, johndec and 24Kilo were the only ones to ever really "use" it.  I love the map app that shows where people are, but I might be able to code something like that in anyway.

Plus, I think I can just as easily put up a freenode frame on the dashboard page and it would fill the same role.  If I fail at he freenode window, I'll add the chat app again, but it will be branded with the company's ad.  I'm not paying $20 a month to remove it.

So in the haste of getting my dad's rig up and running, I forgot something.  I would start the miners, walk away and then come back to the rig shut off.  Start it up and it says it recovered from an unknown error(windows for ease of setup).  I tried a couple different things, but it kept doing the same thing.  Then it hit me at like 3AM while I was laying in bed awake thinking about what could be wrong.

Sleep mode.  I forgot to turn off sleep mode.  /Facepalm
1602  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] UBER-CHEAP BRAND-NEW Computer Components 20% Below Retail! (ESCROW) on: December 28, 2013, 02:47:05 AM
I don't know, Grendel... I'd take a 20% discount over warranty on something like an SSD or some computer fans or something.  As long as the item works when I get it, when it goes out I'll just get a new one.  The RMA/warranty process is usually more of a pain than what it's worth.  I'd rather just move on and get something else... but that's just my 2 cents.

Monkey, knowing that you're a drop shipper makes things more transparent.  You should just tell people that upfront and let them know what they're trading for 20% off.  I think if you just stated that at the beginning, people wouldn't have been so worried about your intentions.  True, you're a brand new account, and you still need to gain some rep, but knowing you're modus operandi makes me more inclined to do an order with you now.

What kind of stuff am I limited to buying?  Is it only computer components (GPUs/PSUs/Mem/HDs/etc) or can you do electronics also (Arduino/Pi/Beagle Bone stuff)?

I'd be willing to do a deal on some stuff if it's possible... PM incoming.

Unless anyone strongly objects to it, I'm going to kill the site chat.  It isn't being used any time I'm on the site and it's almost time for me to pay for it.

I can bring it back later, or I can try to implement a a freenode frame later on if people are dying for chat.

Wasn't there a guy just recently offering Amazon gift cards at a highly reduced rate that he buys from his "cousin".  What's with the Amazon cousin connections lately?

Really? I was honestly unaware of this. Like really. However, I assure you, I am in no way related to whoever that person is, nor are our businesses related.

Oh great, now everyone is going to think I'm some kind of scammer.  Undecided

TO EVERYONE:
I AM NOT A SCAMMER.
If there is any way for me to further prove this, do let me know!
Thank you!

Not accusing you, mate.  It's just funny is all.

I hope you are legit and your business picks up on here.  Having ties to wholesale priced items is stellar, and people will eat these up if you come through.  Hell, I'll probably buy at some point if you start getting some verified sales on record here.

I was in his dogecoin pool, doge.cryptopool.com which stopped paying on Dec 16th. Neither auto nor manual payouts are working. There have been several other people raging about it on /r/dogecoin over the past week. I just alerted them to the tagyak post regarding the admin's accident

Oh... cryptopool.com.  That's techbytes and ahmedbodi's pool.  cryptopool.it is LeftToeCut's pool.  LeftToeCut is the one who was in the accident.

This is why people need to come up with original domain names.  I can't keep it straight lol.
1607  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAG] TAGMining.Com- Try your chance at our weekly jackpot! New site chat! on: December 27, 2013, 08:55:58 PM
The cryptopool.it hash rate has fallen because no one has been able to cash out there since Dec 16th, and admin is not responding :/

TAG.Cryptopool.IT is running fine. Here is a quote from his post over at TAGyak -

"I have been in a car crash. All is good but will stay in the hospital for at least a week, and between understaffed hospitals and holidays , maybe more. The pool is on auto as it is hard for me to do any admin work right now, typing takes ages. It has been running well and will keep running well I hope . Went down a day or so ago due to an old credit card on file. I will update the rest of the forums at a later date. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone!"

Link to post - https://tagyak.org/groups/tag-cryptopool-it/forum/topic/this-pool-is-not-accessible-and-admin-is-absent/

I am getting consistent and regular payouts with no issues.

Thanks!

Thanks for the verification, 24Kilo!

TheHumanatee, double-check your account settings, mate.  Maybe something isn't set correctly, and it's causing you to not get paid out.

I would if I could, but I don't have them yet. Shipping update: Because the value of my package was over $2500, I needed to submit a lot of information about myself to DHL, including IRS tax number or Social Security number. Thats why it was stuck in the Cincinnati hub for customs. Sorry for the wait guys.

LOL... just joking, mate.  I'd like to get my hands on some of these, but I can wait.  I'm sure I'm going to hop onto the forums one of these days and completely miss out on these lol.  Happens every time I get excited about something  Cheesy

I know 24Kilo was trying to help the pool, so maybe he can verify if payouts are going out or not.  I know he said that the reason the OP has been absent was he was in a car accident.  If payouts aren't going out, I'd recommend mining somewhere else until LeftToeCut can get back to work on the pool.

24Kilo, do you have access to the backend?  Or maybe a direct line to LeftToeCut?  I'd be willing to get the pool working again if he'd be willing to trust me with access to the server to get it processing.  It's more than likely an issue with the cronjobs not processing.  That's a lot of trust to give someone, so I'd understand if he didn't want to do that.  I just want to make sure people don't get the "server is shutting down, sorry about your lost coins" run-around that some of the TAG pool OPs pulled when the fork happened last month.  But I am not saying this is what's happening here... I just want to be clear on that.

The numbers game on cards per board is an interesting one to play.  I'd like to do 4 per board going forward.  I wish those mITX boards with the PCIe x 16 and PCIe x1 slots were cheaper.  I always thought it would be nice to be able to deploy a bunch of really cheap, low power, mITX rigs.  Custom case design for that would be fun.  Plus, you could use a nice 750W PSU at around $100.  I might do this for shits and giggles next time I order a board, just to see if I can make it all fit in a custom 80/20 case the size of a toaster oven.

Frank, I've heard mixed reviews about that 1600W LEPA.  I was almost going to buy one the last big order, but I decided to go smaller with a 1200W.  I'm glad I did, although the problems with the first one being DOA were a kick to the nuts.  The delivery guy came back today and told me "I was here the other day and I didn't know if anyone was home so I didn't knock on the door."  I wanted to let me dogs chase him off my property for not even trying the first time and making next day delivery go 5 days.  But I think if I ever try to do more than 4 cards on a MB, I'm going for 2 PSUs.  It's more of a hassle to wire up, but it just seems so much better in the long run.

I think I'm going to RMA this Dual-X card.  It hashes like a beast, but the artifacting is driving me nuts.  Maybe I can get them to do a swap for a toxic if I cover the difference.  I doubt it though.
1612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAG] TAGMining.Com- Try your chance at our weekly jackpot! New site chat! on: December 27, 2013, 03:41:58 AM
As always Vesper, you're the man!

I got my PSU today, and thank god... everything is running now.  I'm just thinking about the future.  I got another UD3 board today, FX-8320(to swap into my main comp), and 16G of ram(to replace the 4Gigs in my main comp... long overdue).  So I was thinking about PSUs for the next purchase and wanted to see what you guys thought, so that helps a lot.

I'm trying to run a Sapphire 280x toxic and a 280x dual-x on the in the same system right now, and I'm wishing I didn't have to.  I couldn't figure out the artifacting with the dual-x so I took it out of my main rig, and replaced it with the other toxic I had.  So I'm trying to get the config right on the pair, and it's driving me crazy.  I hate tweaking this stuff.  I wish it would just tweak itself lol.  Just make me money, damnit lol.

I'll be back when I get this squared away.

Hey, all,  I got a question for you.  I'm thinking Vesper probably has some input on this.

Do you run multiple PSUs per MB or do you just get 1 high end PSU to cover all that MB's GPUs?  I'm wondering if there is a benefit to either method.  I could see buying 2 PSUs being nice in that if one dies, the whole rig doesn't go down, and it's cheaper to replace.  But running one high end PSU just makes things simple on a rig that only has 3-4 cards.  Any thoughts, guys?

shucks.  was hoping to get some 7950s for christmas but was out of luck!  this would have been great.

Sorry, mate... I wanted to move fast on these to have some coin to spend.

Grendel...

I can see why you chose your name lol.... jk.  One of the greatest antiogists in literature.

Quote
Till the monster stirred, that demon, that fiend
Grendel who haunted the moors, the wild
Marshes, and made his home in a hell.
Not hell but hell on earth.
He was spawned in that slime
Of Cain, murderous creatures banished
By God, punished forever for the crime
Of Abel's death.

Can I ask why hype you're talking about?  It's pretty easy to understand why GPUs are scarce right now.  GPU mining is earning ROI far greater than any other form of mining right now, save the ASICs that are sitting in the hands of the devs that are "running final tests", waiting to release them to the public.  I bought these cards a while back, mined on them for a short time, made a lot of money(in my standards), and decided to find a new home for them to make room for newer equipment that I bought and am going to buy(mostly with money I made from mining on these cards).  I paid X for these cards, and I made 4X from these cards, mostly in the first couple months of mining.  There's no hype there... just math, mate Smiley

Is it really a verb already?

I was just throwing that out there... I don't need to run a different coin pool, but would open something if there was a desire from you guys.

Vesper is the now the pool whale!!!

Fuse... do you want my hash rate back here at TAGMining? Let me know... still over at TAG.cryptopool.IT trying to build up that pool. Surprised to see the pool at less than 40Mh/s... last time I checked, the pool was running around 200Mh/s.

24Kilo, no worries man... keep the other pool chugging along.   When the power comes back to TAG, we'll be back up there again.  I'm not worried about it, mate.

^-- The new whale lol

Sucks about the PSU man, I've had that happen before.. failure to deliver. Usually when I see it happen, I call and have the distro center hold the package for me to pickup in person. I trust me to pickup rather than them to deliver lol.

I'm going to shift some of my power to one of my other hangouts for a bit to build it up and take some of that pump/dump coin known as Dogecoin. Get it and sell it while it's worth something, that's what I say. It'll pay the electric bill, am I right? Wink

That's exactly what I had in my head when I said that lol.

I tried calling them like 15 times in the last two days.  The shipping center it came through doesn't have a local number I could find, so I went through the 800 number, every time a "I'm sorry, but we can't process you call at this time."  Click, and hangup.  Bastages.  I called Newegg and got the shipping fees refunded, as I paid for next day.  They called fedex and got the same runaround lol.  It's a wonder fedex stays in business.

I've been thinking about starting up a private Doge pool.  It's all the rage among the kids these days.  Would you guys be interested?  I could just copy/paste the account tables to the Doge DB and lock the registration.  Let me know if you guys feel the need for it... otherwise I'll just keep to TAG and ride out the lows.
1619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TAG] TAGMining.Com- Try your chance at our weekly jackpot! New site chat! on: December 26, 2013, 06:14:51 AM
Looks like some of the bigger folks left the pool.

More coins for us Smiley And it spreads out the block finders too.

Or maybe this is fuse's way of tempting me to put more hashpower here.. haha

You caught me lol.

Damn fedex missed their expected delivery date twice now on my replacement PSU.  Out for delivery 2 times, and neither time did they even attempt delivery at my house.  So I call the phone number and it just hangs up on you... stupid fedex.  They should be delivering my PSU which will power another rig for the pool, after I make up the purchase price.  I sold my 7950s for $600, just waiting on the TX to come through.  The money will go to a first "big girl bed" for my daughter, and mining equipment.  Gotta keep growing... gotta keep growing... lol

Yeah, with the exception of the Chinese pool, it seems all the pools are running low right now.  The Chinese pool makes me nervous though.  They're at around 450MH.  That's some crazy power when everyone else is 45 or less.  I'm guessing they've got one hell of an exchange rate over there.
