8741  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: coindesk.com/price ---> how accurate is their pricing? on: October 02, 2017, 10:54:19 AM
Question is in the title.
Thanks in advance.

It maybe as close as the current price, but we may never know. How did they arrived at the price? There are so many factors that you have to look before having a accurate price. However, since bitcoin is very volatile, there were be no accurate price for it. A good example is the different price of the trading platform. We really don't know how they compute to arrived at those prices, but for them is the correct price. So if you see the coindesk has its price, then that's how they view and should be "accurate" as per their website.
8742  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Uber & Lyft to accept Bitcoin on: October 02, 2017, 07:24:05 AM
Should we start a petition to these people?

Imagine the possibility! I think Lyft will respond faster!

If that will be the case it is extremely beneficial to the commuters who will avail of their services. Aside from efficiency the drivers cannot make ask for extra pay because everything will be recorded in the transaction and the clients can use that as evidence against them. Hope this will be implemented this will be a good start for bitcoin and the transportation groups.

I never encounter any driver that is asking for extra pay. I don't know where you are located but it seems not normal for Uber to ask for it. It's already recorded in their system how much you gonna pay the moment they accept you as passenger.

Going back to the topic. Yes it's gonna be huge for bitcoin market if ever both of them started to accept bitcoin as payment. However, the issue I'm seeing is that those driver should be teach how bitcoin/blockchain technology works. Like teach them how to check the transaction in blockchain to see that the rider or passenger has already payed.
8743  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btcc and ViaBtC closed. on: September 30, 2017, 09:15:26 AM
They are close but there are rumors again that they would re-open then when there are proper regulations for the exchanges. Rumor has it that they only did it because of the incoming conference so they need to act on the exchanges that they view as a threat to their financial institutions. They suspend trading but mining is still on-going. Maybe this is a good way then so that the government of China will not be able to spread FUD again in the future causing the price of bitcoin to have a drastic fall in price.

Yes, that's what I also read that there is a chance that those exchanges will resume its operations. They just need to re-apply when a proper regulations will be put into place by the Chinese government. Let's wait and see how things will evolve at this point.

Yep, and right now price is at $4270. So it does seem weird o me that price is rising, even though two of the bigger exchanges on the cryptocurrency scene have been shut down by the Chinese government and potentially more to come.

This seems to me like very bullish market acitvity.

People are dying to get a piece in bitcoin, and demand is soaring. Markets have also matured since they now know that closure of exchanges in one country doesn't really affect anything.

The market is very bullish right now. I think it is already price in. Maybe those investors are moving their funds to other exchanges outside of China that's why we are seeing a new surge in price. Or it is just new faces are ready to join despite the negative news that we are hearing lately.

8745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BItcoin end or destroy in this month?? on: September 30, 2017, 08:45:51 AM
I donot understand what are going to on bitcoin?Bitcoin dumping  and dumping Shocked Shocked. Now bitcoin under 3600$ i think in this week its going to under 3000$.China can destroy bitcoin or ended this month. What your predict ?
Just wanted to make you aware that month has almost ended and bitcoin is still growing strong. So leave off the ideas of complete bitcoin dumping. We have a great future ahead.
i think this is a stupid thing you know, this thread was made when there was panic selling a few days ago when china decided to exchange the existing exchange in their country and it made a little bit of chaos in bitcoin market, some people make  issue that bitcoin will die this month but it is a stupid thing, bitcoin will not be destroyed just because of it, and proved the current bitcoin price is back up more than $ 4k

Yeah, this thread was created at the height of the China news about closing ICO and shutting down local exchanges. And it seems that the OP was a little bit nervous seeing the price go down and flooring to $2800. I really do hope that he didn't panic and sold off his coins during the chaos.

We have recovered since then and the price is going strong at $4300. This maybe is what we all been waiting for. Another massive bullrun is building up and we may see a new ATH once more. We don't need to talk about China now. It has no significant effect on the market now. So let's move up and look at the bright side.
8746  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about MEW & Ledger on: September 30, 2017, 08:29:42 AM
Hello, I'm sorry if the question has already been posted, but I didn't find my answer...

I'm starting to have quite a lot of different crypto on bittrex and I want to put them more secure. I'll move them on myetherwallet waiting to receive my ledger nano S. So I wanted to know if MEW was the best security for ERC20 tokens ?
Is it better to create 2 differents MEW wallets and splitting my coins? Or can I put everything on the same MEW wallet without danger? Maybe having 2 MEW wallet is a problem for the Ledger after?

Thank for your answer !

Yes. MEW is safe and the best security for ERC20 tokens. And as long as you have the private keys and the password backup to a safe and secure location I think you are all good. Yes, for added security you can create 2 MEW wallets and split the coins.

I feel safer stored in bittrex wallet than storing in MEW. I am afraid of fishing, some people lose their coins in MEW.

Lol. You are kidding right? What if the exchange was hack? How can you recover your funds then? As for phishing , you just need to bookmark the site. Just remember to not click anything you see on the web to above being phish. It's really up to us how to manage this as compare to a exchange where you don't have control of your private keys.
8747  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: you need to overcome your fear of losing money on: September 29, 2017, 07:51:35 PM
It's banal, but money is just money. There are a lot of things such as health, family, happiness, etc, which are more important. When I lose some money, I try to focus on the listed things and forget about material loss

Seems you have raised a valid point. There are other things that is more important that money. Its only material. Things such as family and health are more important and can't be replaced once we lose them. So it ever you lost money, don't worry because tomorrow you can recover it. You can even doubled it what you have lost the previous days. And its part of your journey in the trading world, but put every lost as experience so that you wont make the same mistakes again. And always think of your family, and be inspired the next time you do trading.
8748  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin value dropping? on: September 29, 2017, 07:03:41 PM
Hi all,

Are we expecting a drop in price since China is going to ban crytpo by end of this month?

Obviously its already end of the end and nothing significant happens to the price. It is still going strong and trading right now at $4100-$4200. But the price drop did happen in the second-third week of the month but we have recovered already so you don't have to worry more about any China news affecting the market price.

another example of someone who is way too late to the party!

the "dropping" is already over. we are $1200 above the price that dropped because of China. you can not expect the same reason to have the same effect multiple times just because you are late. the rest of the world were not late and they did all their panics and their sells and buys and FOMOs in the previous weeks and now things are back to normal

until next FUD comes along. try not to be late for that one.

Yeah, he is already too late to join the party and miss the opportunity to buy it when the price is quite cheap. So to the OP, please be advised that you need to be ready when bitcoin will have a "buying party" and don't you forgot to have your funds ready, just in case.  Cheesy
8749  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't trust anyone who tells you how much Bitcoin is worth on: September 29, 2017, 06:43:28 PM
It can be overvalued or undervalued, so no one really knows that much worth your bitcoin is. In the beginning it is quite cheap. Remember Laszlo? who bought pizza back in 2010 for 10,000 BTC? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.0

He really don't know that this 10,000 BTC would be worth millions by now. So bitcoin can't be really define by what we used to know to price certain commodities. It has its own characteristics that we the community can understand but from the outside, they seems that they have no clue about it, like Dimon who called it a fraud.
8750  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [Bounty] BitDice ICO - ICO Of The Biggest Crowdfunded Casino With 2300Ƀ Profit on: September 28, 2017, 05:44:09 AM
Congratulation for those who had their bounty already . Any exchanges that this token already listed? Thanks

HitBTC has already listed it and currently trading, very busy phase. Looks like there is a dump coming from the bounty hunters. It peaked at around .000047 BTC and now the price is .000042 BTC. Wasn't able to get and grab the tokens but for those members who have gotten it, much better to hold. I think it can touch .00008-.00012 BTC. Congrats though to bitdice and those who have invested on it of course bounty hunters.
8751  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 28, 2017, 05:08:59 AM
Howdy people, so the rumor is real about the practice game together with Dwayne Wade and Lebron James as he signs contract with the Cavaliers. I was not shock anymore with this news but the Cavaliers are really want to take the championship slot for this season. They really not going to give let other teams only the ones that will change their roster and wanted to strengthen their team.
Read the source here http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/20824865/dwyane-wade-close-deal-cleveland-cavaliers

I guess I was proven wrong when D Wade signs with the Cavaliers. I really though that Thunder would be a logically chose for him. But it seems to me that their friendship with Lebron is deep rooted that's why he is swayed to work with him again and get the chance to go for another ring before they retire. Well, the Cavaliers have put themselves in a much better position as we all know how those 2 works together without jealousy and just aim for the championship in Miami. Its gonna be a an epic battle if Golden State and Cavaliers once again meet in the finals.
8752  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-27] Vitalik Buterin Explains Flaws in ICOs and Scaling Issues in Eth on: September 28, 2017, 04:09:59 AM
Looks like there is something wrong with the link as I can't open it.

First time I heard Vitalik making some sense. LOL. Its not his usual self promotion of Ethereum. So an extent I believed that having a inexperienced company handle to much money to really put forward the projects their offered, may not be a good idea. That's why a lot of ICO never became successful or have scam its investors. So that's a clue for those who are willing to put their hard earn cash, check the team behind if they have the right tools to really bring the project to the next level. Younger people with less experience rise to positions of power. That combination will lead to the downfall of the company behind the ICO's.
8753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: any one tell why ico ban in china?? on: September 27, 2017, 10:46:28 AM
All investor are dispointed when ico ban in china.I want to know why ico ban in china.any one explain please.I am really frustrated for this news. Now I am hold my coin. But where are going to crytopia currency??  Angry

I think China banned it because they want to "protect" its people from scam ICO's. Chinese people are going crazy for every ICO's and putting a lot of money in it. But only few are legit and successful while most are scams that why the government decided to stop this madness to help people's possible loses and put on the brakes on their worries about cryptocurrency. It is also possible that China want its own crypto, that's why they pull the plug on bitcoin and their local exchanges.

I hope that you are still holding your coins and didn't sell when the price plummeted about 2 weeks ago. Because if you did then you will feel disappointed because the price have already recovered and now trying to break $4000.

8754  Economy / Speculation / Re: when will bitcoin prove its true prosperity and take on full beast mode? on: September 27, 2017, 03:35:03 AM
millennial's are the biggest investors and supporters obviously, but bitcoin has to reach a level of financial prosperity to somewhat the fullest eventually...will it make our kids rich? Grandkids? Great Grand Kids? Aliens or Martians to that far extent?

Do you not considered the price today as good? For me its already so strong and it will just like a bonus if bticoin can go on "full beast mode" on the next couple of years. Eventually we will go there like $10,000 or more but can bitcoin be useful if we reach that price? Can we used it to do online and use bitcoin as mode of payment? Otherwise bitcoin will be just like any other investment.

In order for Bitcoin to prove its prosperity and enter "beast mode" it doesn't need to make anyone rich. It needs to be developed to the point that's it is usable in any kind of situation, by a lot of people at the same time and in a user-friendly manner. Making people rich is secondary to the prosperity of Bitcoin. With the right path forward, the rest will come gradually and naturally.

True. If bitcoin is not usable, then its hard for it to gain mass acceptance to push the price to what we are dreaming of. I think that time will come but we have to wait and its gonna be a slow and steady phase and we do not want artificial price that will crumble anytime.
8755  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-09-25] Forbes: Why China's Ban On Bitcoin May Be Temporary on: September 26, 2017, 03:09:44 PM
I don't think that this is the very reason to shutdown ICO and closed its local exchanges. Its more deep rooted as I speculate. Its probably that bitcoin has really threatening Yuan and they have to do something about it. I don't think that they just want to appease the Communist Politburo.

Quote
At present and in the immediate future, however, the size of the Bitcoin economy is far too small to be a real threat to the Beijing government and the banking system it owns and manages.

I have to disagree with this. Bitcoin economy is booming in China. You could look at the sheer number of trading volumes per 24 hours, so its not that small to really not affect their economy. They need to move fast to stop all of this before its too late.

Well, let's see if this just just a temporary in nature and they will made a U-turn to let everything back to normal once more. But I seriously doubt though. We already withstand the test of not having China at our back so its better be like that.
8756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: September 26, 2017, 02:46:02 PM
BREAKING: The Bulls and Dwayne Wade have reached an agreement on a buyout.
Cleveland, San Antonio and Miami are leaders for Dwayne Wade post-Bulls buyout. OKC can become a factor on this too.

I would love to see Wade and Lebron together again, but the thought of him going to OKC and joining the MVP, PG13 and Carmelo its scary.
Cant wait to see where he signs.

While that would bring back Miami Heat memories, Wade is just too far from peak already to make a significant difference, even if he joined OKC.

I would have to agree that DWade is already past his prime but for me he can still make good contribution not only inside the court, but could be a good mentor for those upcoming stars whichever team he lands. Either of the 3 mentioned team could be a good place for DWade. We wanna see a reunion with Lebron but I doubt DWade will go there. As for my personal preferences, would like to see him goes to OKC so that they can give GSW a good challenge. Its gonna be scary to see those 4 at the same time in the floor.
8757  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is about to crush major resistance points (very bullish) on: September 26, 2017, 01:26:04 PM
I think much of the resistance one way or the other will be broken at month end when there is further clarity in the Chinese market space. It would be great to see the 4100 point broken and an upward trend towards a new ATH.

I'm not that technical but I love seeing member sharing their analysis. Currently is almost $4000 so I guess we need few more hours or days before breaking it and going to $4100 and as I understand it, if you breach it then we will see another massive bull ran touching $5000 or even new ATH again. The Chinese hangover should be over by now. I think they have already made their move last week when we see the price touch $4000 then it went to $3500-$3600.

I hope I can also read and made TA as you guys so that I can also make a good prediction. I just we really need to see how things evolved in the next coming days to see if we are correct.
8758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin growth again, what to do? on: September 26, 2017, 12:49:21 PM
Bitcoin growth again, for two days it's turn back his position 3960$ and continue to grow!
Should I go to bank and buy bitcoins?

You should have bought it when the price is low to maximize your profit. But since bitcoin is gaining grounds again, it may not be a good buying point. However, if you have funds that you are willing to invest, then my all means get it before it goes to $5000 again.

You just have to remember one thing, do not panic once you see that bitcoin price is going down. Its one thing to buy it, another thing to store and not be nervous seeing that you are loosing your money. Goodluck.
8759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who can destroy Bitcoin ? on: September 25, 2017, 02:13:14 PM
As long as there are investors, traders and miners then bitcoin can exist and no one can destroy it. Not even China, because bitcoin has already captured popularity globally, its much more harder to destroy. Banning is different though, a certain country can temporary affect the ecosystem like China did, but it doesn't mean that they can destroy bitcoin. Look at how bitcoin recover from all the attacks recently, specially Jamie Dimon. So as long as we are here and put our trust on the system, but it can survived up to the last mine bitcoin. So personally, I have no doubt that no one can destroy it.
8760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think China has halted the pace of bitcoin reaching new high?? on: September 25, 2017, 01:02:36 PM
Do you think China issue has halted the pace of bitcoin reaching new record high?? How much time do you think required for bitcoin to forget China issue and pick-up the pace to touch new levels???

To an extent yes, China has somewhat halted the progress of bitcoin. We have enjoying the best price of it until the China announcement. The only question is the timing of their declaration banning ICO. They should have done it when they suspend the withdrawal of the Chinese exchanges last March. But when they saw that bitcoin can't be ignored, they unleash everything they got to stop the price going further. But we have move forward already but there will be still China hang over until the last of the bitcoin exchanges stop its operation.

But they still have the monopoly of the bitcoin mining. According to Charlie Lee, they won't go after the mining industry, but we don't know if that is true. Maybe when we are enjoying new ATH again, suddenly they would change their mind and close mining too.
