Kate (2021)

Solid entertainment. Watched on Netflix.

I've got to visit Japan someday. Could even relocate there if I had 10x the coins I have...

I just had a look at previous September dips during post-halving bull runs.

In Sept 2013 it dipped about 19% from $149 to $121 (on its way to $110 0n Oct 1) before soaring to $1100 before year's end.

In Sept 2017 it dipped about 40% from $5k to $3k before soaring to almost $20k before year's end.

Yesterday's little dip is just par for the course.

Go Bitcoin go.

Interesting. Based on the numbers above, we see peak-to-dip ratios of $1100 / $121 = 9.1 (2013) and $20k / $3k = 6.7 (2017). If this pattern continues in 2021, we should expect a huge ATH before year's end. Applying the above ratios, and considering $29k to be the lowest price point of reference (June's big dip) for 2021, we get the following:

Peak-to-dip Ratio = 9.1 ---> ATH of $29k x 9.1 = $264k before the end of 2021.
Peak-to-dip Ratio = 6.7 ---> ATH of $29k x 6.7 = $194k before the end of 2021.

Even if we assume that the peak-to-dip ratio decreases every 4-year halving period, we can still expect a very healthy ATH for 2021. The ratio difference between 2013 and 2017 is 9.1 - 6.7 = 2.4. Assuming a linear progression, this results in a 2021 expected peak-to-dip ratio of 6.7 - 2.4 = 4.3, which gives us the following ATH prediction:

Peak-to-dip Ratio = 4.3 ---> ATH of $29k x 4.3 = $125k before the end of 2021.

Of course, all of the above are just rough extrapolations of previous patterns -- nothing is guaranteed -- but the indications are certainly very positive.

tl;dr: Just HoDL and be ready for 6-digit prices before the end of 2021.

Edit: Picking June's dip, instead of September's ant-dip, as a point of reference, was a deliberately conservative choice (unless we go lower than $29k in September, which I very much doubt). Using September's currently lowest dip ($43k) as a reference in the above calculations results in even higher ATH predictions ($391k, $288k, and $185k before the end of 2021, respectively).

Wow, WTF? Did you all sell your coins for McDonald's meals?

Just noticed the dippening!

Not for ants value-wise: dipping to < $43k!

For ants time-wise: quickly recovering to > $47k.

HoDLers not affected.

Off for BBQ at the shitcoiner cousin's place. Won't mention Bitcoin (or crypto), I'd like to enjoy my steak and burgers.

Those are some controversial mixenings that you are making....   Maybe AlcoHoDL and Llama Llama are dee same peep?

[...]

Wow, Jay, that hurt!

Just going on a limb in hypothesizing, and your response lends some credence to my suspicions.

 Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry

[...]

That hurt too. This is a genuine response to someone I respect here in WO. Take it as you will.

I am starting to wonder whether a lack of lol's makes any kind of difference in terms of interpretation?  self-doubt, here.

Toughen up AlcoHoDL.  You are going softy on us**?  Do you even realize that we are on the interwebs here?

**That's the royal us, in case you had not noticed.  #nohomo on this one - for sure.

By the way, do you really believe that any regular member herein with even half-a-brain, including but not limited to gembitz, would actually consider you and that dicktwat sheep to be the same peep?  I am going to have to have Bawb straighten you out when he gets around to it.. he seems kind of busy, right now, although also Bawb no doesn't listen to (or do) anything that I say, unless I attempt to employ a wee bit of reverse psychology to make it the opposite... hahahahahaha

I knew you were joking, but your reply to my first comment made me wonder a little bit... WTF?

I actually enjoy his posts TBH, just like r0ach's, but r0ach is gone now. And proudhon is a damn good counter-predictor. Grin

Oh noes! We crashed down to 51.5k. Better call Proudhon....

doesnt someone here have him on speed dial or something?

Maybe AlcoHoDL?

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

No need for speed dials. Now it's on automatic. After what you've done, he will be posting right after me from now on... It's already started.  Cheesy

Upward movement has nicely resumed. Ants doing what they do best...

Movie time. Looks like we will break $52k before the end credits I finish composing this post! <--- DONE!

It's so nice watching your profits increase without doing anything. Thank you Bitcoin.

Onwards & upwards.

HoDL.

So, I tested positive for COVID-19.

Good times.

Feels like I've been absolutely smeared by an 18 wheeler.

Have not ever experienced cold or flu symptoms this harsh before.

I'll recover fine. No respiratory congestion at all so far, but Rick said his congestion started on day 3 of the infection, so, we'll see how things go. However, I think Rick did himself no favors with his infection, and ended up contracting secondary conditions because he was working, and not resting.

Thank you, China.

Assholes.

At least we'll both have natural immunity after I recover, so that's nice.

Bed-rest for me for at least the next week.

Have a great Sunday, friends.

Get well soon man, and Rick too. COVID-19 can be a nasty SOB.

Edit: I second HI-TEC99's suggestion. A pulse oximeter is a nice little thing to have, and is a pretty good indicator of oxygen levels in the blood. I did a test once, by holding my breath for about 1 minute. My oxygen levels gradually dropped from 99% to 89% IIRC. The little thing showed the change in real-time.

@cAPSLOCK:

Re. Robert Moog, great story, you are one lucky guy! I never had the privilege of owning one of his fine instruments, but I will always adore their sound. I was in secondary school when I got hooked on Jean-Michel Jarre's music, and slowly bought all his records (in vinyl, no CDs at the time). I still remember checking the sleeves to see which instruments he was using, and reading about the ARP 2600 and the other great analog synths.

Good times. I'm not against digital instruments, but those analog synths surely were a remarkable achievement of the time, their sound so smooth and thick, subtle and ethereal. Just listen to Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygène.

Another failure to sustainably penetrate $50k while alts are getting most of the attention. This is the predictable outcome of a failed cryptocurrency. Expect to see mostly lower prices for the rest of the year (and ever).

He did it again.... dafuq??

well, maths and science obviously. doh

its just not clear what planet/dimension that that peculiar maths and science originated from.

It doesn't matter where it comes from. What matters is that it works, and proudhon knows it.

When I saw his post, I immediately knew that we would cross $50k to near-$51k levels today. Maybe even beyond that.

Blasphemy alert....

Watched this movie recently. I gotta say one of the overrated movie i have ever seen in my life, i got bored af and i grew up watching B-Lollywood shit. May be my expectation were too high because of you guys.

You're not the only one...

I also learned about this movie from WO. Got to admit, I fell asleep in the first 30 minutes of watching it, but not sure if it was from the movie itself or I was just too tired/sleepy at the time, or it's just not my thing (I absolutely HATE comedies, there are very few that I can enjoy). Will attempt to watch it again soon.

Bitcoin polar chart,
Such a beautiful flower,
To those who can see.

Always blossoming,
Its petals never crossing,
Everlasting growth.

You buy and forget,
And come back 4 years later,
Richer, guaranteed.

What more could one ask?
Easy profits on your sleep.
Buffett knew his shit.

Yet, some cannot see,
And keep waiting for the dip,
That will never come.

Others get jealous,
They want to own some corn too,
By begging for it.

Want 3 BTC?
Ask Bob, he'll sort you out good.
You won't feel a thing.

True HoDLers don't beg.
They build ranches and buy lakes,
And burn trees and shit.

When $100k?
Ask proudhon, but remember:
-(-1) is 1

Talk about cool, yet unuseful, visualisation of bitcoin price:

https://twitter.com/LynAldenContact/status/1430998256977383428?s=20

Axes represent the years, starting from "9" you have 2009, then at "12" you have 2010 "etc .... each quarter turn is a year, each full turn is a halving cycle (approximately). The purple line is the price of Bitcoin, on a logarithmic scale.

The representation is cool, but the scientific value is nil.

[...]

More at:
https://clockworkpartners.com/

I think it's pretty useful actually, as a visualization aid, to illustrate the exponentially steady rise of the price of Bitcoin. In a standard Lin-Log graph, this would be a straight line with a positive slope, but this is not very intuitive for most people. The polar chart above nicely shows the near-constant step between spiral circles (4-year periods = Halving periods). This step is roughly one order of magnitude (10x), meaning that there is roughly a 10x price increase between Halvings. This is equivalent to an average of 1.8x price increase per year.

If, after seeing this graph, one still refuses to invest in Bitcoin, then I can give him/her no hope. There's nothing for him/her, but to live a life of misery and humiliation, and forever stay poor.

Edit: Also, another very important point illustrated in this graph is that the spiral circles never cross. This means that Bitcoin has always been profitable within any 4-year time period in its history.

Does the market really need to test $43k again before heading upwards?
I suppose we will know by Friday.

Time to fill the sprayer tank to protect my potato crop from blight.
Then start at first light in around half an hour while the air is at its stillest.
Have a good day all whatever you have planned.

Bill, since you're a farmer, do some spraying on WO too. Use your strongest trollicide.

proudhon was right -- again!

We may cross $50k today.

He said that?

Oh my!!!! I had not been closely following that soothsayer wannabe to get MOAR betters insights of price direction nuances.

[...]

Indirectly, yes! If you know proudhon, then you know he always predicts the opposite of what's actually going to happen. Kind of like a huge NOT at the end of every post of his. Every time I see his posts I know there's going to be a pumpening. He's one of the most reliable UPpity predictors out there. Second best is a Crystal Ball. For the rest of us that do real math & science, there's the White Paper.

Enjoy the UPpity, WO brethren! $60k could be much nearer that we think.

Please, no BSV (a.k.a. Craig Wright's coin) talk here. And no big-blocktardedness either. Thanks.

Ant pumpening in progress. Sweet!

Yup. I still have it (my 1st computer), in its original box, in pristine condition, complete with the included "Horizons" cassette tape. Haven't powered it up for decades though, maybe the caps are all dried up now.
