Ok Etherium + Via?   Via acquired? Get me up whats going on?

I'm pretty sure Via was not acquired. You have to read who posted what in that Chat.

Still got some via i want to trade for XCH

I'm pretty sure you can still "burn" via for XCH.

Yep, just checked. You can get 93 XCH per via you convert today.

It would be good if there is a wallet for linux that can be easily installed. It took me 3 hours to install the linux mint. Is there someone who can talk to the Ubuntu community to Viacoin wallet added to their repository? When would it be possible then to Viacoin the only wallet that can be automatically added unless of course Bitcoin wallet. Smiley

You can use Vialectrum. Easy to install in Linux (including Mint).

Code:
sudo apt-get install python-qt4 python-pip python-dev
sudo pip install https://github.com/vialectrum/vialectrum/releases/download/v1.9.8.4/Vialectrum-1.9.8.4.tar.gz
vialectrum

Warning: in Ubuntu 13.10 and later you also must do:
Code:
sudo apt-get install python-slowaes

Thanks, it works normaly. What is the diffrence between viacoin core wallet and this one?

Mainly, one downloads the blockchain and the other does not. Also, I think Vialectrum is deterministic. So, if you backup your seed, you have a backup.

so basically if i had 10grand in btcd, if i leave my comp on 24/7 ill gain a dollar a day. hardly worth the power bill? am i missing something?>
I think 10k btcd will give you around 1.4btcd and that's around $7
Of course I am not sure. I think 7300 BTCD = 1 coin per day

Sorry, I'm noob, but 10K BTCD is 100 BTC on the current prices ...

So, I need invest 100 BTC to earn $7/day? That's nonsense ...

Anyways, sempyper said: "i had 10grand in btcd", but I think we can buy only 2100 BTCD for 10K USD at the moment.

By staking 2100 BTCD, we can earn only 0,2898 BTCD/day (2100x0,000138).

It seems for me that the real winners of the staking are the early birds, who bought big sum of coins for peanuts ...

As the coin becomes more and more expensive in time, the late buyers will earn only pennies ...

Can someone convince me opposite, please?

/sorry for my poor english/

Everyone earns the same percentage.

You should be able to run clearwallet. It is web browser based and should work fine.
966  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SuperNET IPO - conducted by Poloniex on: August 31, 2014, 03:53:06 PM
Is there a timetable for SuperNET IPO?
Very interested.

How interested are you? Not interested enough to read the thread I guess. I am amazed at the comments here. People asking for a summary of the OP cause it is "too long". Take 10 mins to read the OP and maybe another 30 to read the full thread.

Threads like these get so long so fast because people keep coming in and asking questions that have been answered numerous times already.

I'm trying to use secureae.com and get stuck on the page "Asset data loading, please wait..."

Is this a known issue and is there a fix I'm overlooking? Thanks

Is that where the chart is? I think that happens if the asset has never been traded. What asset are you looking at? I think I have seen that error but was never "stuck". I could always select another asset.

It happens when trying to view any of the assets.

Sorry, I'm not seeing that. What browser are you using? Did you try to refresh your cache (CTRL-F5)?

BBR

And it's up 102%.

Why is the Price always going down? New Futures are launched, but price is going down?  I dont understand this :-(

I guess that the Bter hack has harmed the trust in Next

I don't think so, at least it shouldn't because the hack had nothing to do with the security of NXT proper.

I think it is due to the hack though, and the concern that they hacker will dump/sell his 8 million NXT dropping the price. I expect many people are waiting for that to happen.

You are right, it will be really so! But I suspect that the hacker will have it hard to sale his nxt somewhere! It will take a very long

Yes, afaik his account is locked out at the 3 exchanges where NXT trades. So, he can't see that way. But, several people did offer to buy from him OTC. I expect it will go OTC or via the AE somehow. But, none of that should really affect the price very much.

Free 1 year premium for new lastpass password management users! Very good app!

https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/free-lastpass-for-new-users/

I would advise against it.
This is an app for peoples twitterface accounts.
Its not something to use for crucially important exchange accounts etc.
Furthermore they store all your passwords on their sites server as well.

you are 100% incorrect about that. LastPass uses strong 256-bit AES encryption. They do not have access to any of your passwords, only the encrypted version of your passwords are on their server (similar to how blockchain.info wallets work). All encryption/decryption is done locally. They support multiple 2FA methods as well to protect your account. LastPass has been peer reviewed by several security experts including Steve Gibson.

Since you are incorrect in a few of your facts you advise falls flat.

Another suggestion is transparent work items. Something like Trello where anyone can go and look at what you are working on and see the tasks move from swim lane to swim lane.

Also, have a public repo where people can see commits. Each week, summarize the progress or even post the check in comments here so people will see what is happening, and that things are happening. Do this for the wallets, and core, etc.
975  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: August 27, 2014, 03:04:46 PM
more than more invester lost their patience on VIA...Because there is nothing achievement or progress from the VIA DEV team!!!

Well maybe not seen, and I agree that communication can (and will be improved).

Would love to hear your suggestions.

Read the BTCD thread. Every day the devs are putting status updates of what they are working on, how they are doing, etc. The price of the coin has gone up quite a bit, [because] and very few people are selling.

Hi everyone!,
Just a quick question. I am not sure if it has been asked before.
How do I convert my VIA to XCH?

In clearwallet.co just send over some VIA to your wallet, then use the dropdown to "convert to XCH".

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but what is the benefit if converting to XCH. Im just checking out VIA to see if its a coin I want to invest in. Thank you.

My perspective: XCH is going to be the better "coin" to pair against assets in Clearinghouse. Since assets / XCH pair Bid/Asks will clear automatically even if you are off line. Although, I hear they are working on a way for that to happen with Via pairs too. Also, XCH will be needed to create assets. Also to issue more assets. However, it doesn't take much XCH to do that. Also, there will be a lot more XCH. Also, XCH isn't mine able or even PoS... so after the intial burn time there will never be more XCH created. So, it does have a slight deflationary aspect, because when XCH is used to do stuff, it is basically burned.

But, since XCH was created of Via I think it's value will track Via pretty closely to the final burn ratio. But, I could be wrong about that. If XCH hits exchanges it could take on a life and value of it's own.

But, it's such early days, it's hard to tell. Only Drak really know's his full plans and roadmaps. Probably since nothing is laid out yet is why the price has sort of stalled and even reversed a bit. If BTCD has proven anything, it is having a dev that is actively giving status updates on development progress (even if nothing is released or working) is very good for the coins price.

Ill take one bet im not running a betting site. One bet. No escrow. Must have balls. Im man of my word. Bet to last till Christmas. Be a nice Christmas gift for me.  Grin

You still haven't specified the particulars of the bet. And if you are serious and a man of your word, you should have no trouble using an escrow.

978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: August 27, 2014, 03:45:27 AM
You guys really don't get it do you. This coin has been killed by it's community and it's decisions. I will give 1 BTC to anyone who wants to bet me it gets over 50 sats again.

Again, ever? On what market? Anything in the trade history? Doesn't someone just have to buy 1 Qora at 50 sat to make the hit the order history?
979  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [VIA] ★ Viacoin ★ ~ the future of digital currency ~ ★ on: August 26, 2014, 05:36:58 PM
How about XCH, some plans for XCH because it could really use a boost I reckon.

I expect XCH and Clearinghouse will become more popular and useful when you can trade BTC and other crypto currencies for it without going to an exchange. I think that was part of the goal, but maybe I have something wrong. NXT also does this in their AE, while it is getting quite a bit of use, it's still no where near as popular as centralized exchanges, even as we hear about hack after hack of these.

since my trial version of Parallels on mac ran out a week ago I'm back to my wallet on Mac.

Virtual Box is free. Not as good as parallels, but it does work.
