1901  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What problem does Bitcoin solve? on: October 18, 2022, 12:52:52 PM
(......)
2) The government cannot reach up it's bum and pull because is a decentralized currency.
This thing must keep in the mind of most people because there are some people that can easily hooked up with some FUD especially when it comes to government restrictions or regulations and especially if it's not true.
Since government can't really control Bitcoin, then they for sure become strict how some businesses or individual use Bitcoin.
1902  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why DCA Strategy on: October 17, 2022, 12:51:07 AM
In the DCA Average strategy, purchases will be known by making a portfolio of how many assets have been purchased. The DCA strategy is perfect for those who want to continue to collect bitcoins or other assets for the long term on a consistent basis.
I tend to agree with this, it's a kind of hoarding Bitcoin for the long term and this investment strategy is suitable for those who are afraid of always losing the value of the money invested and aim for profit in the long term purpose.
(...)
And Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) is one of the doings of a lot long term Bitcoin believers because if you are doing Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) you will not enjoy profits in the short term as you cannot guarantee that for every buy you execute it will immediately pump.
So, you need to be patience too if you want to adapt Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA).
1903  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What efforts have you made to raise bitcoin awareness in your community? on: October 17, 2022, 12:36:43 AM
In 2016, a friend of mine suggested that I come and invest in Bitcoin; I was shocked, and I told him that I would not. I thought it was all a scam, and I don't like online stuff because I don't believe in it, so I told my friend, "Okay, since you said it's not a scam, teach me about bitcoin." I did some folder research on it and discovered that it is true.
(....)
For me, I am asking some businesses or personal individuals if they are accepting Bitcoin as a mode of payment.
Because of this, if they are first time to hear about Bitcoin, for sure they became interested or curious, so even that very simple question, it is already a big help for Bitcoin community to gain new people.
1904  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price consolidation at $20k for 4 months on: October 15, 2022, 10:48:53 PM
BTC has been hanging on the $20k area for 4 months now since early june. The longer the consolidation on a price range, the bigger the capitulation can be if it breaks to the downside.. macroeconomic view looks like trash. BTC still hasn't decoupled from the SP500, and the SP500 is still 700 points away from pre-covid printing measures which to me it means the price is still overvalued, which in turn means BTC will follow a sub $20k capitulation. The only 2 scenarios I see where we pump:
(....)
My thoughts right now seem every market correlates to each other. Like if there's a huge dump on stocks, we are also experiencing it in the cryptocurrency market. So for me, the reason, for now, is the interest rate. We need also consider the post-covid effect now.
It's like a global effect, there no one is excluded from the current crisis that we are experiencing, even in which country you are framed, there is a crisis.
1905  Economy / Speculation / Re: Every signal is a speculation on: October 15, 2022, 10:44:40 PM
(....)
Everything around in crypto when it talks about prices for the incoming are speculations, that was the reality. However, people are having fun with it and aside from that, this is a way also to make them more particular about the trend and this helps them understand the behavior of the market. There is nothing we can do in a volatile market like this but just draw conclusions based on the market movement. That is why TA and FA are very important when investing for this will guide us in choosing the best project to invest, not like a guessing situation.
And consider also those people who are die-hard for some people who are just fans of giving random signals which we already know that they are pure speculations.
We cannot blame them because sure they are lured by some people especially some celebrities or popular persons on the internet especially social media.
Verifying and identifying by ourselves like using technical analysis and fundamental analysis will help us to not rely on some signals, we will not blame other people on it.
1906  Economy / Speculation / Re: what is the bottom of this bear market BTC on: October 15, 2022, 10:41:27 PM
I chose above $15,000 and this might truly be the right answer because Bitcoin is hesitant to break below the low of this year at $17,625.00 (June low) talkless of dipping below $15000.
(.....)
Very possible but it seems to me now, we are still early to decide when will the bottom of this bear market is. $10,000 is really possible for me because I am expecting we will not see a new all-time-high price until the year 2024, so we will not know what will happen in 2023 next year.
I am not negative on Bitcoin, but if the market won't still recover this year, I am really expecting to see $10,000 will the lowest bottom.
1907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ledger live Ethereum Gas fee on: October 15, 2022, 10:19:26 PM
(.....)
I do not own Eth, what is the easiest way of me getting some Eth on my ledger to pay for the fees?
Find an exchange that has a withdrawal fee that is free or really cheap, and try FTX exchange for it.
Make sure to read the Terms Of Conditions if you are finding such an exchange, after that buy Ethereum there and withdraw it to your ledger wallet.
You need also to consider how you will buy Ethereum, like will be using debit/credit card, converting other coins for Ethereum, etc.

1908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Prophecy on: October 15, 2022, 10:13:39 PM
I don't know about church prophecy about bitcoin and whatnot, however, we have seen already specially those early birds becoming rich and millionaires because of their bitcoin investment.

So I guess we don't need to believed in those kind of prophecy, or if we can call it prophecy already because we have seen that there is indeed a cycle and every 4 years there is a bull run that will make money for everyone.
This will still be up to the person itself. There are a lot of people out there that believe in these kinds of prophecy, we can't blame them, that's their vision and beliefs. For me. this is normal as long as you don't do illegal things or not appropriate things.
This becomes the normal nature of a man. So, if ever Bitcoin creates a new all-time-high and they are thankful for God because of it, so be it.
1909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another opportunity is coming, a time to hold on: October 15, 2022, 10:09:59 PM
I think Canadians who are first/early entering or knowing the crypto world will know the bitcoin halving cycle, and by now they must have been saving for 2024 later, not just buying in 2024, but we also don't know for sure 2024 is the peak. running or just the beginning, but buying at the beginning of the month is not too late
Seems Canadian waiting with halving moment for purchasing or investing with Bitcoin, not bad with their ideas try investing when Bitcoin will reach to higher price as usual halving moment always give positive impact for Bitcoin can break out to higher price. But seems risk when waiting until 2024 for investing Bitcoin trough almost close time with halving time actually have positive news and Bitcoin will going up, almost lately and seems panic moment later if have invest when Bitcoin at higher price.

Better try to invest nowadays trough still two years later with Bitcoin halving and have lower price right now,
I worry waiting next time on halving   2024 Bitcoin can reach more than 2x price right now, maybe can reach above $40,000 in two years later.
Seems coincidence. We all know that the next Bitcoin block halving is expected to happen in the year 2024.
For sure a lot of people now are researching especially past history prices of Bitcoin because even me before, I checked the price of Bitcoin before and after on every block halving event of Bitcoin, there's a price action upward on every months before of bitcoin block halving event.
1910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 10 years ago on: October 15, 2022, 10:06:08 PM
We will not get this type of increase ever again. From 12.5 dollars to nearly 20k dollars, that means it has increased 1600x times bigger, in order for us to go x1600 bigger from the current price, we would need to be 32 million dollars per bitcoin.
(....)
I understand your point, but we'll never know still. What if we will dump at a huge significant price of Bitcoin then it will go bounce back on some high price?
We all know where Bitcoin will go, the same as what happened years ago when Bitcoin are starting. Or maybe if ever we will get on these high prices, for sure we don't exist anymore in this world.
1911  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you name your child after a crypto?? on: October 15, 2022, 10:03:31 PM
And do you think anyone is named after a crypto today? Is there a kid out there named Doge? hehe  Grin
This is very me. Before I am really excited to name my child after a cryptocurrency.
I already discussed with this my girlfriend that if our child will be a boy, I will decide on the name and I am planning to name it cryptocurrency related like I will get combination names cryptocurrency related.
1912  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Next meme coin to buy in 2022 on: October 15, 2022, 12:35:16 PM
The crypto space is expanding with incredible speed and introduces new and new tokens every month, if not every day.
Today we will be talking about the largest cryptocurrency group – meme coins...
There is a huge variety of coins that perform specific tasks and which, as well as meme coins, can bring a huge profit. Why not try to deal with such new projects and invest in them? Yes, it will be more difficult to do than just randomly buy various meme coins and wait for your $100 to turn into thousands. But it will be more like investing, and in this case the risk of losing your money will be much lower.
Buying these random meme coins is just gambling. It's very risky, that's why it is very advisable to go with only small stakes when buying these random meme coins.
I already tried this before like I allocated x amount of funds for each of them. I remember before when animal coins on different chains started to trend, a lot of meme coins, and most of them are scams, so very risky.
1913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest Heavily ALT now on: October 15, 2022, 12:23:22 PM
I have noticed that every cycle there are giant ALT coins. In the following cycle, the New top 10 is coming. As per the current condition, please be vigilant to invest in BTC.
Most Alts vanish in a bear market, the main reason is no fundamentals.
While it is true that the top 10 in terms of marketcap looks completely different now than 5 years ago or so i would not agree that it completely changes every bear/bull cycle.
This is why Bitcoin is very important in your bags. OGs are aware of this, and it is already proven by time, as time goes by there are a lot of haters with altcoins because they already experienced a lot of things with altcoins and the Bitcoin market along the way.
No problem of buying altcoins, just be careful because if a lot of altcoins are just good in the beginning.
1914  Economy / Trading Discussion / Exchange with time limit from orders on: October 14, 2022, 04:05:44 AM
Are there any exchanges that have a feature on their orders about putting a limit on how long the order will stay?

Example:
Like let's say, you put in a buy limit order with the following price, and you want if this order will not be triggered for a given date or time, the order will be canceled.

Thanks!
1915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Biggest Mysteries Of Bitcoin on: October 14, 2022, 03:58:33 AM
I prefer that Satoshi Nakamoto is a group of people who work to build a Bitcoin project but they don't gather in one room but work in their respective places and communicate with each other.

This bitcoin project is still a mystery, especially about Satoshi Nakamoto, because we don't know who they really are. But we have to thank him because he has dared to break the system that has been running for a long time.

And when Satoshi Nakamoto's wallet starts to move, all eyes will be on the wallet and will wait for where they will send Bitcoin.
Judging by Theymos messages whenever he talks about Satoshi Nakamoto, I will say he's an individual who at some point hired some innovative enthusiast to work with him on the project and they choose to join him because the project was built on decentralization, censorship-resistant, and open source. However, the name Satoshi Nakamoto was also not chosen by the person that combine the idea of BTC, the name was chosen by the community that contribute to the BTC network.
Even though, in the end, Satoshi Nakamoto was the one person who did everything in the Bitcoin project, it remains a mystery. After all, we don't know who he really is and many people keep guessing who Satoshi Nakamoto is.
(....)
For me, it's just good that Satoshi Nakamoto will remain anonymous or we will not know who he/she is anymore. Satoshi Nakamoto is sure proud of Bitcoin now, wherever he/she is now, they are already very happy about what Bitcoin achieve over time.
So, let's not waste anymore about finding who really Satoshi Nakamoto is because he/she intended to stay anonymous from the beginning. Bitcoin is doing great.
1916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Altcoins? on: October 14, 2022, 03:52:32 AM
(....)
I know I have got into Bitcoin at a good price but just feel while altcoins are currently 85-95% down from all time high may be better making the most of that rather then being safe with Bitcoin and not seeing much return.
I don't disagree with altcoins at all. But be careful with the altcoins you select, I highly suggest buying high market cap altcoins, and avoiding mid to small marketcap altcoins.
And another thing is, Bitcoin is already proven over time, since the beginning, Bitcoin never disappoint us. So for me, always have Bitcoin in your bag, even you can say that the ROI is very low for Bitcoin now, but as long as you are safe, it's ok.
1917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When is the best time to buy Old Coin? on: October 13, 2022, 02:16:44 AM
What is your basis for old coins? How many years since it existed?
For me, the best old coins just are those altcoins that are a high market cap group, which is like the top 1 - 20 highest market cap.
So for me, the high market cap is, the more it's safe, especially if you are talking about old coins. And another thing to consider is their project, make sure they are still active and still on-track for their roadmaps.
1918  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: They want your money by all means possible on: October 13, 2022, 02:14:52 AM
Beginners mostly have a limited ability to research, even on legitimate projects that sometimes don't yield good results. So the simplified advice for them is:
Want stable P/L (manageable) = take advantage of volatility (old established coins > trading)
Want significant P/L (unmanageable)= take advantage of hype (New coins> fundraising)

The choice is yours, it's that simple.
Yes of course freshers have some experience to research the project. But there are many scam projects who will never pay and cheat people Again there are many good projects and there are real projects which again sometimes do not pay. Many times I have seen many legitimate schemes have scammed people. So I support all the suggestions the OP has made here.
Most newbies are coming from hype, there is a lot of hype now, especially on different social media platforms. There are some content creators that are spreading some different content just to lure some newbies and buy random shitcoins. It's the power of the internet. And these newbies don't research at all or not maximizing the use of internet and they end up getting rekt.
1919  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you considering time span? on: October 13, 2022, 02:08:52 AM
Yes the time span is important. Especially when you are in a trade, you are expecting something to happen, and if it doesn’t you need to get out.
(...)
I normally wait for a certain number of candles but I'm a bit random with it.
(...)
I cancel orders a lot when trades that I want don't execute in a certain timespan I want/expect.
(...)
Thanks for the answers, everyone.
Jeez, I thought it was only me that thinking this because most of my trades that have already been long stayed open without any of my orders being triggered are considered lost.
Now I have my idea, maybe I will start observing my trades and decide how long could my trades will stay if the prices got no reactions at all.
1920  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terra Luna Classic - Take profit or hold? on: October 13, 2022, 02:05:11 AM
(....)
I know there are a lot of people against Luna now but for those who are invested and holding , what is your plan?
I sold immediately my holdings especially before right away when I got the forked altcoins.
Me, I cannot trust again the project, I lost too much on their stablecoins, it's their biggest mistake. So for me, it's really difficult to trust their project again now. The damage has already been done.
