5201  Other / Meta / Re: What is the meaning of this Warning? Has it been applied recently? on: May 03, 2019, 05:10:42 PM
I saw the Warning today, and this is my first time I saw it, so I don't know it is a new kind of Warning or it actually been here long time ago.
Someone who know about the meaning and its launch time, please help me.
It has been there for a while though i don't visit those boards so often, i remember seeing it a couple of times. Not sure of the exact date it was put there but it has been long known that moderators do not remove likely scams as it may put lots of work on them to identify, analyze and remove scam

So usually community members come up themselves to identify scam and try to report to mods however, not all threads are deleted.
Therefore, it's just a warning to members not to assume that all posts that appear in those boards are scam free as mods may have missed out on some of them. One must do due diligence.

Mate, screenshots would be much better rather than texts.
Nobody is going to believe texts but at least screenshots of the email messages can help to some extent.

And also follow the format of scam report writing which I suggested to you earlier on if you want members to help you. Including it in the OP would be very much welcome.
5203  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam Exchange Coinbene - be careful on: May 03, 2019, 04:36:19 PM
Perhaps this thread belongs to Trading discussion or the Exchanges boards

It's not a scam accusation unless you present it in a specific format with some proof of getting scammed:
Here is the format you can follow:

5204  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to work Bitcoin? on: May 03, 2019, 04:23:06 PM
Great, anyone can explain how to generate bitcoin. I mean how did the people mind bitcoin?
Bitcoin is generated  through mining, which is the process of adding transaction records to Bitcoin's public ledger of past transactions(also known as a bitcoin blockchain or in layman's language a chain of blocks)
The blockchain serves to confirm transactions to the rest of the network as having taken place. Bitcoin nodes use the blockchain to distinguish legitimate Bitcoin transactions from attempts to re-spend coins that have already been spent elsewhere.

So basically Mining is a mechanism used to introduce Bitcoins into the system: Miners are paid any transaction fees as well as a "subsidy" of newly created coins. This both serves the purpose of disseminating new coins in a decentralized manner and motivating people to provide security for the system.

Currently, mining is done using "mining rigs" a colloquial metaphor for a single computer system that performs the necessary computations for "mining".
Most commonly used mining hardware currently is ASIC  or An application-specific integrated circuit, a microchip designed and manufactured for a very specific purpose. ASICs designed for Bitcoin mining were first released in 2013. For the amount of power they consume, they are vastly faster and much profitable than all previous technologies such as GPUs and CPUs:

How the maximum bitcoin's were 20 million? Thanks
It's 21 Million and not 20 Million
Mathematical explanation:
The number of blocks are calculated per 4 year cycles:
Code:
6 blocks per hour x 24 hours per day x 365 days per year x 4 years per cycle = 210,240 ~= 210,000

Sum of all the block reward sizes:
Code:
50 + 25 + 12.5 + 6.25 + 3.125 + ... = 100

Multiply the two:
Code:
210,000 x 100 = 21 million.

Check this out for details: Projected Bitcoins Long Term
Very interesting if you love mathematics  Wink

5205  Other / Meta / Re: Using symbols/special characters in the subject that make it unclicable؟ on: May 03, 2019, 09:54:54 AM
Chrome seems to have trouble with the arabic question mark code (&#1567), or de trailing semicolon:

Not only chrome, I am thinking it's a problem with chromium based browsers in general.
I am using Opera and it's having the same problem
So i am thinking the problem stretches to
- Brave Browser
- Vivaldi Browser
- Torch Browser
- UC Browser
among other chromium based browsers

Anyone confirm with brave?
5206  Other / Meta / Re: Using symbols/special characters in the subject that make it unclicable؟ on: May 03, 2019, 09:20:03 AM
Very weird indeed
By the way if you click on the " ؟ ", it works

I also noticed that
- the numbering of pages is inverted and outside the arrows
- first arrow's direction is inverted
- The "New" tag is inside the arrows as opposed to the normal set up

This could be the reason the topic title is not clickable
5207  Economy / Reputation / Re: DT members can now to be hold liable for their negative feedback on: May 03, 2019, 09:10:00 AM
I decided to ignore the other feedback because i haven't following the those "wars"
However, when I looked at the first red tags you got and the reference links, I am pretty sure with your current attitude, even if the later tags were not considered, your reputation would still be not good.

Account buying/selling is an old thing that is no longer tolerable by the community since it's done by scammers and spammers

I think if you had been someone calmer and accepted you mistake and contributed more rather than attack people, you would be having a much better reputation, perhaps some DT members would even consider turning the feedback neutral given that you have been on the forum since 2014 but instead you decided to make a mountain out of the situation and climbing it is now impossible.
5208  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to work Bitcoin? on: May 03, 2019, 08:51:50 AM
Roger Ver, Bitcoins CEO, believes ‘it’s the dawn of a better, more free world’. Whilst that remains to be seen, it does have certain attributes that make it tempting for those looking to make money day trading bitcoin.

I am really depressed seeing this kind of article, Roger Ver being bitcoin's CEO? Since when?
You should probably begin with reading and sharing from more legit sources like

5209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Account hacks. Do you self-check your account regularly? on: May 03, 2019, 08:41:03 AM
Not just checking the post activity but should definitely make at least a post every now and then since moderators will mark your account with like resurrect after long inactivity and this should be avoided though.
Posting shouldn't be an issue thou. Some users don't really love to post much but just like browsing through and reading only.
AFAIK, the warning " This user recently woke up from a long period of inactivity" only happens when one has not logged into the account for a long period and not necessarily because they did not post after long time.

Posting gap becomes an issue only when the user's style changes from the previous posting style after a hiatus and it can actually help assess if the account has been taken over by someone else.
5210  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: May 03, 2019, 07:30:51 AM
That is exactly what theymos wants Merit sources to do:
It's best if sources try to exhaust their source allocations, even if it means giving posts higher amounts than is typical. If you have 150 source merit and you only see 3 merit-worthy posts in a month, then I'd rather you over-give each of them 50 merit than let the merit expire. That way there are more people capable of sending merit, and the "merit economy" is less top-down.
I have seen him try to lead by example by handing out 50 merits to good posts a few times
Certain merit sources have been doing great work too. The most noticeable are you and Suchmoon.

I think the major problem that has not been much looked into is people who receive merit, and they don't circulate it.
Also, there is unequal distribution of merit in different boards.
Sometimes one can make a very good contribution in altcoin boards or even trading or bitcoin discussion and the post will goes unnoticed because most merit sources ignore those boards. The few people who post in those boards barely have any sMerits to distribute it.
5211  Other / Meta / Re: Yobit spam on the forum on: May 03, 2019, 06:56:18 AM
Not really, the Campaign has a running 60 day ban. The two cases presented above are really a prior version of the Yobit Campaign’s signature, from some point in the past. Notice that both @Dudeperfect and @alyssa85 have a Yobit signature that refers to "over 350 coins". The current (banned) signature references "over 1450 coins".

There are a handful more profiles I’ve seen still bearing that old version of the signature.

For real i saw @Dudeperfect with something like a "Yobit.net signature is banned" on his sig space earlier on unless i was hallucinating  Cheesy
Maybe what's happening is the yobit chaps have found a way of encouraging users to wear old yobit signatures that have yobit.io link which was not banned whilst displaying Yobit.net on the signature for people to see
5212  Economy / Exchanges / Re: scam exchange on: May 03, 2019, 06:42:38 AM
so if one of exchanges has 100k usd trading volume and 5% is real volume how we can buy form this exchange then
Virtually it's almost impossible if you are placing a limit order because the bots will continue trading with itself and leave out your orders. The only way is maybe you do a direct market order. It has ever happened to me on Digifinex and i will never trade from that exchange again. I withdrew all my assets.
5213  Economy / Reputation / Re: The fake vouches are coming from alts [?] on: May 03, 2019, 06:14:16 AM

I am convinced that they are fake vouches however I gave them time: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5120480.msg50871689#msg50871689

Thank you for the investigations you have done. I left you +2 merits. Good work.
I too, appreciate your work  Wink
Let's give them time and we see what happens

BTW I forgot to mention that the accounts I stated above are kind of related to Fellavin for this reason:
The last bump on the Russian thread was by domerdel on February 24, 2018, 07:23:55 PM.
Fellavin then comes one year later and bumps the thread on March 13, 2019, 09:54:08 AM, After that we see all those funny newbie account reply on the thread through March and April in the same fashion.

Mate, what would you lose if you took a couple of minutes and read through the OP?
Your rank does not qualify for this campaign.

I've seen this user actively posting using yobit signature, I would like to know how they bypass the signature ban.
This one as well, https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5138339.msg50861221#msg50861221 , he is wearing a hero signature, they must do some kind of trick or there's a new update that we are not aware of.
It's probably because the ban has been lifted for specific users.
That particular user had a ban massage showing on his signature a few hours earlier one but now it's showing a yobit signature again.
5216  Economy / Reputation / Re: End of drama "The-One-Above-All" is the alt of "cryptohunter" on: May 02, 2019, 07:51:40 AM
It was quite easy to tell that it was CH behind the account especially if you look at the wordiness of his posts and replies and the way he paragraphs them.
Another big giveaway was the way was how the account had just been created and yet it seemed to have problems with the current default trust and on top of that, the concentration was majorly on Meta and reputation boards (cryptohunter's favorite spots)

That said, admin cannot just say TOAA is an alt of CH without any evidence. He's definitely sure it's an alt of CH
5217  Other / Meta / Re: Cryptios on: May 02, 2019, 06:03:19 AM
It's awesome to the team on board, I did notice that account recoveries were no moving much faster and there are not some many people complaining in meta about how their accounts have taken many months without being recovered like they used to do about 6 months back.
Great job to Cyrus and Co.

5218  Other / Meta / Re: Cabalism13's Merit Source Application on: May 02, 2019, 05:56:23 AM
It is obviously their faults, due to their laziness. It is always easier to stick with the first languages, learning and using second languages are harder, but it worths our time
This is not right.
It's no one's fault if they want to stick to their Mother tongue. It's not a must that everyone must know or use English. People have different views and perspectives on their languages and cultures, and so we much respect them the way they are.
5219  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] Cloudbet Signature Campaign | Member - Legendary | Local Posters Wanted! on: May 02, 2019, 05:31:24 AM
Hi Hhampuz. It's nice to see your new campaign. Anyway, will bonus rate also apply to posts made in Indonesian local board?
He specified the 4 local boards Cloudbet needed in the OP, but nonetheless try your luck and apply, you never know  Wink
Cheers.
5220  Other / Meta / Re: Should this be considered as plagiarism? on: April 30, 2019, 10:42:56 AM
I am very sure it's a quoting mistake or something related to that. Probably got interrupted when replying.
I almost got into such trouble one day when I was exhausted.

Just look at the user's post history, reputation and merit earned, why would he want to lose an account over this kind of blunt plagiarism.
