5281  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Has anyone successfully used really high leverage or is that just gambling? on: April 22, 2019, 09:17:18 PM
Yep, one can succeed too but chances of losing out are pretty high too.
I would advise that before one starts doing very high leverage, they should have a lot of experience and should be so good with risk management.
It's not for the fainthearted or very emotional traders.
5282  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bit-Paradise - FAKE TEAM on: April 22, 2019, 09:10:13 PM
How do you locate images like that? Some kind of facial recognition through image archives? I always want to do it with projects that I think are shady but haven't found a good way of searching. Also, the image compare ICO posted earlier is cool too.
There are very many tools on the web that can help with image recognition and image search. Some ore premium whereas others are free
We have google images, yandex images, Amazon Rekognition, tineye, bing images etc.
5283  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Night Mode When Browsing on: April 22, 2019, 08:30:50 PM
I think that this program is a lot better than any night mode.

THe problem is the blue light, and this little program just reduces it and replaces for a warm light.
True programs that filter blue light are good. I have been using them for a while for both my phone and PC. Luckily both are inbuilt in my Huawei Phone's OS and my PC's  OS.
I did try to use dark mode sometime back but it isn't as effective as the blue light filters.

5287  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Likely scam www.xcashwallet.com on: April 22, 2019, 06:15:32 PM
If there is a rule for tagging because of promo code then you are fine but I did not see any rules for this yet. May be you can help?

PS: My post does not mean that I am backing those users. It's more like knowing well before doing.

It's an old style of scam that has been going on for a while mate. Have a look at this thread to understand how this kind of scam has been progressing https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5081286.0

I think @Coolcryptovator is tagging the promoters as soon as possible because he's already familiar with the kind of scam.
5288  Economy / Services / Re: 🚧 Julerz12 Bounty Campaign Management Service 🚧 on: April 22, 2019, 06:03:16 PM
I am really grateful that I worked with you once and i really loved your level of transparency and organization. It was top-notch.
You were also very helpful and willing to listen to any complaints too.
There not so many great managers in this forum and I rate you among the top 5 best Campaign managers in the forum.

Not sure if this is the right place to leave a suggestion but i would love to make a small suggestion about the announcement of open spots in your campaigns.
I kind of feel you should make the application process a little open for more hours, at least around 24 hours to cater for people who are in the different time zones from yours so that you peak the best posters.

Personally if I were to not under any campaign and were to apply for yours, I don't think I would stand a chance because I have never got your campaign open, probably due to the time zone differences  Cheesy

Otherwise, keep up the good work.
Cheers.
5289  Economy / Reputation / Re: 5 Connected Accounts including 2 Full member accounts on: April 22, 2019, 05:38:10 PM
Only one DT member tag this alts!
It is always a must that  4 or 5 DT members must all together tag an account that has gone against some forum rules to make the feedback look legitimate. All it takes is one tag from a member. So don't sweat yourself over this mate. You did your part and i personally appreciate what you did here.

Different DT members leave feedback depending on how they see it on a personal basis.
5290  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Tips for a Secured Net Surfing and Hacking Prevention (Guide) on: April 22, 2019, 05:00:35 PM
3. Use https:// for Safe Surfing!

The URL’s which start with https:// rather than http:// indicates the authenticity. So, make sure the website you’re visiting has the URL starting with HTTPS ‘hyper-text transfer protocol secured’. It adds up an extra layer of security and prevents cybercriminals to attack your personal data.
A reputable addon like HTTPS Everywhere can be quite resourceful in this case

Also, another important point you missed out is to avoid downloading and installing random software and addons without doing some background checks.
If the addon/software is brand new, hosted on a third party website, has fake reviews, has very few reviews and downloads etc do not download and install.

5291  Other / Meta / Re: Meriting people over 1k merit on: April 22, 2019, 04:42:52 PM
It's more than OK to merit people with over 1K merits here are my two reasons

- Appreciation: Its human nature to be appreciated. It makes one feel good to continue doing the good work for the forum.
So even members who have more than 1K merits need that little appreciation. It helps the forum continue growing with quality members still continuing to contribute despite the number of merits they have already gathered.

- Continued Circulation of Merits When you send merit to members with 1K+ merits, it does not mean that they will not distribute it to other members. Chances are very high that members who contribute so much to the forum will circulate the sMerit to other members of the forum. So why not give them some merit even if it's just one?
5292  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Top 10 Risks Of Bitcoin Investing (And How To Avoid Them) on: April 22, 2019, 04:13:12 PM
Theft or in this case cyber theft isn't only limited to bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. We have had traditional financial institution also lose money to cyber criminals so i wouldn't say it's a risk involved only with bitcoin "investing"
This is a common problem in most avenues currently and it came with the advent of the Internet.
5293  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sorry We are Closed on: April 22, 2019, 04:01:56 PM
Having more exchanges is very advantageous. The only downside on the investors' side is in between the so many exchanges, there is a high chance of bumping onto scam exchanges too.
I did make a list of advantages in some post back then

BENEFITS

Investors
- Lower trading fees
- Wider choice of exchanges to choose from
- Tokens invested in are listed much quicker
- Improved customer support due to competition for traders
- More trade competitons

ICO holders
- Lower listing fees
- Quicker listing and launching of project tokens

The disadvantage is on the exchange side where they will be in so much competition meaning lesser traders and probably some of them will fail in the due process
5294  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to remove/ban specific link from signature? on: April 22, 2019, 03:51:37 PM
I think this particular issue was catered for when Newbie accounts were banned from wearing signatures, setting personal texts and uploading avatars.
I am very sure this has massively helped reduce advertising of scammy links on signatures and my belief is an older member who has struggled to get merit in the forum cannot risk his/her account's reputation by advertising scammy suspicious links in their signatures.
There could be a few members doing that but I think the currently system is still effective.
5295  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bit-Paradise - FAKE TEAM on: April 21, 2019, 11:33:25 PM
My post was deleted on his thread though -  Tongue
Really expected from a self-Moderated ANN that already has 3 posts from 3 users already deleted.
The scammer is trying very hard to bump the thread by updating it but it's getting no attention from the community probably because of his red tag.

Another interesting find is the Name of the fake CEO they claimed was real has suddenly turned from Jerry Wang to JD Venkatesh. He's nolonger Chinese or Korean Grin

5296  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why do youtube "Expert Traders" keep asking money for their "premium tips"? on: April 21, 2019, 10:59:12 PM
I've been looking for a good exchange and it is the i'm glad to find one which is a good trading platform that helps newbies to trade well and that is the darb exchange , this exchange is also good in converting crypto into fiat and it will never fail your expectation when it comes to security because they can protect all of your assets that's why you can be comfortable since your assets is in a safe and secured place. Well it was really hard to know unless someone have tried it just be careful and look for some comments or thoughts about it to make sure that it is worth it because it is hard to trust nowadays because we don't know if their intention is good or bad.
Now how is this related to the topic we are discussing here?
Trying to promote and exchange with a referral link on your posts?
By the way it's against the forum rules and you  should stop the act as soon as possible
5297  Other / Meta / Re: Thread owners on: April 21, 2019, 10:40:46 PM
Is OP owner of thread to have such rule? Are moderators going to remove posts from users who break this local rule?
Probably OP thinks they will report  replies made by other members they don't expect to reply the thread and hope that mods will delete the post, but i think it's a very foolish thing to do because it makes no sense creating a topic in meta then calling on only the most senior members to reply.
It's very stupid.
5298  Economy / Reputation / Re: Red-Tag Without any Logical reason. on: April 21, 2019, 10:26:33 PM
I think it's no big deal.
I mean they are not on DT so that shouldn't get you so worried.

We have seen scenarios where people have made retaliatory feedback, but they have never been put to spotlight for it so it should not make you loose your mind.
I personally wouldn't care about untrusted ratings

5300  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Facts} Disadvantage of promoting signature campaigns that encourages spamming. on: April 21, 2019, 07:42:59 PM
Truth be told, campaigns that encourage spamming and do not emphasis quality of posts usually end up costing the participant.
I have seen certain members here join such campaigns and have never earned even a single merit for months just because the campaign Managers of such campaigns don't care about the post quality of participants. They Just encourage shit posting and one liners.
