5681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now you can cancel stuck transaction in ETH wallet on: February 27, 2019, 11:52:07 AM
But this can be done with most wallets including the famous MetaMask. It also provides an estimate of the current gas price by default which can help avoid any sort of stuck transactions
It's not about current gas price or whatever you mentioned. OP says you can cancel a transaction once you release it with lower gas fee.
I never used it and don't know how safe using this one.
You didn't understand what I wrote. Don't just rush to reply so as to fill up your post count.
I talked about the wallet "feature" OP emphasized being common in different wallets including metamask.. What kind of simple English do you need to read in order to understand?  Huh

The problem is, users might be swayed by the ads instead of the discussion. Due to short attention spans, users mainly focus on whatever that appears first and those ads might even rank top.

There have been cases such sites (e.g. Bittrex) were placed above the legit ones on the search results pages, and many fell for them.
Solutions:
  • Use Duckduckgo
  • Use adblockers like Ublock origin, I personally like it... another one adblocker plus
  • Use antiphishing extensions metamask, netcraft, cryptonite etc
5683  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Guide] Virustotal scan guideline to detect viruses, trojans, malwares, worms on: February 27, 2019, 04:48:14 AM
By the way, sometimes we get to see false positive and negatives from virustotal.
Results from virustotal should not be taken as final.

A perfect example that sometimes produces false positives is Electrum wallet app and other wallets

So it would be a point worth noting

So you didn't even back-up your recovery codes?
This is a serious issue as it would be hard to determine if you are the actual owner or just someone trying to have unauthorised access to the account by trying to bypass the 2FA procedure.

If you feel you cannot backup recovery codes, avoid google authenticator, always use Authy, It has a cloud backup.

Also, i suggest you try moving the topic to Scam Accusations Board with all the details of your chats to get much better guidance there.

One of the reasons you are not getting a response could be here

5686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What if ethereum had a maximum coin supply set from the beginning? on: February 27, 2019, 03:44:33 AM
Recently, I did realise that Ethereum does not have a maximum supply like other notable coins such as bitcoin.

Apparently, even Ethereum Cofounder Vitalik Buterin thought that Ether total supply wouldn't go past 100M at-least for a decade, but due to the popularity of the network, the 100M mark has already been surpassed. So last year on 1st April, he  proposed the cap of total ether at 120M , Not sure whether it was because Ether price had started tanking due to the bull ran hangover or it was an April fools day prank  Grin Grin

But anyways the proposal hasn't been implemented yet and to me, without a maximum supply, I see a risk of Ether's value not growing as expected or even deflation of its value as more coins come into circulation.

My question is, would Ether's price be much higher than it is today if it had a maximum supply cap from the very beginning like Bitcoin?
5687  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: February 26, 2019, 09:31:24 PM
Rodgers still pisses me off just to look at him. He was a real fraudster, he was never good enough or qualified for the LFC job.
I really have no idea how even he ended up with the Liverpool job. Some managers, especially in the EPL, are way too overhyped. Imagine Rodgers was at one point linked for the top job as coach of England  Grin
5688  Other / Meta / Re: New collection of badges for self-made users on: February 26, 2019, 02:20:49 AM
Hmph. I'm not going to sit here helping other people earn new shiny badges and see myself get left out. Tongue Angry From my perspective, this new badge would make me feel so used.  Cheesy

Yeah fuck that shit, I’ve only got 482 earned Merit. My account would look shit compared to loads of people then.

Merit 1000+482

At least wait until I get 1000 earned Merit Cheesy Cheesy
Grin 482 is not bad thou. It shows you really contributed and earned it without any motive of ranking up further. I know there are legendaries who don't care anymore because they already at the top

Not conclusive enough in scam detection but one does further research, it can be a very tool. One needs to do other background checks such as team, community, white paper etc
5691  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Disadvantages of Gambling on: February 21, 2019, 10:54:50 PM
All the disadvantages we see in gambling are due to the fact that we don't it as a form of entertainment but as a way of earning hence when we make losses we end up with lots of problems such as addiction and stress.

If gambling is purely done for fun and entertainment... some of the challenges can be eliminated
5692  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2018-2019 on: February 21, 2019, 10:49:48 PM

what are your predictions for the draws ?
Not so easy to guess for sure since teams are still so many but am now picking up more interest in Europa as the league progresses. We are soon going to see lots of giants clashing against each other since most of them have gone through.
5693  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best bitcoin sportsbook deposit bonuses on: February 21, 2019, 10:45:44 PM
Bonus on first deposit is one way to attract players to use it to play the site's casino games and convince to play more if they win at first play. In.short giving bonuses to new accounts that deposited for the first time is their tactic to gain profit and lots of players into their site.
It's always about profit anyway. It's just that some online gambling sites do it more aggressively than others since there is now have so much competition in that field
5694  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Exciting New Project on: February 21, 2019, 10:40:31 PM
What's so exciting about yet another P2P exchange?

I can tell you one thing, you're not doing this project any favors by posting generic comments like these here.
Not a single bit of information, not even a link to their website.
Grin probably just some newbie who felt that she/he could post something of no value in here.
I mean if one is really serious about the product they want the public to use and review. Why not put up all the information instead of just 2 sentences?
5695  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] CoinMap 1.0 is back! on: February 21, 2019, 10:36:10 PM
Glad to have stumbled upon this Ann.

Sorry to ask but any key figures worth mentioning who could be featured in the conference?
Thank you.

Thinking of getting it to one of these conferences this year.
5697  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading with smart contracts? on: February 21, 2019, 10:21:40 PM
Not gonna lie to you. I have never used the platform mentioned above before since it seems less popular. You might wanna do deeper digging before using it to avoid falling into a scammy exchange.
The idea of trading using smart contracts is good thou.
5698  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: TrueFlip SCAM on: February 21, 2019, 10:15:46 PM
Should be fixed now, OP should get online and confirm that he was sorted. I don't know why he is taking longer to respond. Hopeful he doesn't leave the forum for good without making a confirmation here since it looks like his account is inactive most of the time.
5699  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fortune Jack casino on: February 21, 2019, 09:54:40 PM
I strongly believe OP just want increase the number of his post because if he was the one that suggest fortune Jack meaning he knows more about the gambling site and if that is not the case he would have asked the question in appropriate site and not to create a new thread.
Am thinking OP might be playing a longer game here.
Pretend as though he doesn't know about Fortunejack and it's affiliate program and the post a question regarding the program on gambling section.
Then come out with his alt especially the two newbie accounts that are just less than 48 hours old
1. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2550134
2. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2549682

Response from the accounts seems so bitter(am not saying fortunejack is an angel) and it's quite easy to know that it's the same person behind them.
The whole goal behind this post might be an attempt to create a ripple effect and make people think that fortune jack affiliate program has probably fucked up with so many people (i don't know if it's true or not)

I don't think this is a coincidence.
