I run miners at negative profit just to help the network, thats how much I believe in it, sure it has every chance of dropping to the floor even more, but its not dead people. wake up, dont sell your coins to the whales
This is encouraging and believe there are so many other people out there who believe in Bitcoin and the whole dream of Satoshi Nakamoto. Bitcoin changed my life, eased me up with the work pressure and this is one thing that will always make me back bitcoin in Every way possible. I don't usually listen to FUDsters and Naysayers because on there is a bull run, you will start seeing threads like "i regret not buying when the price was low", "i was wrong about BTC" etc The point is never let what people say change your perspective on something thatt you believe in

Feel so sorry for OP. A few days ago, i made an article of how Not all crypto apps in App stores are safe. I didn't give much on other wallets and apps in Github but reading through your story, this is even more serious than phishing attempts through fake apps. Am going to update my thread using this experience (i hope it's okay) with major focus on the app in question so that new users can know how grave this matter can be. I wish you all the best in an attempt to try and net that/those culprit(s)

The websites i have commonly used are: Some of sites have email subscription open where you can get daily or weekly email alerts about what's happening in crypto world while others like cointelegraph offer an option to subscribe to their telegram Channels for instant updates

lets say i want to make a 85% profit. at what price do i sell everything at?
Just simple math For example the for the BTC you bought at 4000, you would have to sell it when BTC's price is just slightly above $7400 [4000+(4000x0.85)] in order to cater for the trading fee too. EDITThe calculation format is for just different portions.. TryNinja has a better answer for the amount you would sell all the BTC at in order to realize 85% profit. also should i sell in increments on the way back up during a bull run, or should i just sell all at one price point?
Depends on how patient you are willing to be, next serious bull run could even happen after 2-3 years In my case if I couldn't wait for that long, I would just sell in potions according to how I bought the BTCs for example the BTC I bought at 4000, I would sell off at 4500 or 5000 while keeping watch of the price in order to buy or sell off another portion. But if you are looking to HODL, just don't stress yourself with daily prices. Store them a hardware wallet and wait for a major bullish trend

quote from Part of Email sent by Forum More topics may be posted, but you won't receive more email notifications until you return to the board and read some of them. I think One has to be active on the forum in order to receive more of the notifications, Every time you receive a notification and you read it, chances of receiving another email notifications are high What you can do- Use trusted third-party email desktop apps to receive instant email updates if you are using a computer for example for my Windows computer i use Easy Mail For GMail and The default Mail App for Windows 10
- Always open notifications as soon as you receive them

I went through several corrections. People constantly focus on the $1100 peak, but the bull run that happened just before that was one to remember as well. I started buying my first coins around $20 back in early 2013 to then see the price pump to over $200 (which I bought at as well), and then drop back to $50-$60. I was a noob at that point and rekkt myself all the way till the $1100 peak.
I don't even consider that to be something scary at all. The moment that really got me was when out of nothing the price tanked like 50% in a matter of minutes due to SilkRoad being shut down by the FBI. I was on the brink of panic selling but decided not to. Not sure what it was that prevented me from dumping (probably the shock) but it was an amazing learning experience.
Great experience here, I hope to use it as a source of motivation through this bear market until the next bull run. I only started to get serious interest in Bitcoin and Ethereum earlier last year.. Made even so profits though i didn't sell all during the December madness later that year. Am still HODLING some other coins from last year and hope to wait till the next crypto madness.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What percentage of bitcoin buyers at the higher prices are still holding?
|
on: December 09, 2018, 03:51:26 AM

When BTC started breaking making headlines last year even on mainstream media, so many new people streamed in and definitely bought. If you look at eh price history of bitcoin since 2013 https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin/historical-data/?start=20130428&end=20181209 you will realise that there was a sporadic price increase in the second half of last year mainly because of; - Media attention( even my not so technical friends at-least had to ask me what bitcoin was and how they could buy it because they heard it from media) - Speculation which all in turn led to a higher demand for BTC So definitely the drop in price implies that there has been a loss in interest for bitcoin from most "new buyers" who rushed in to buy in 2017 hence low demand compared to when the price was 19K. I don't think most of them are still holding, being inexperienced in crypto trading some probably panic sold thinking that it's a bubble, Others who got sold it out for ICOs thinking that they would be the next bitcoin

3. if i give payment should my account automatically a copper member?
After you have finished sending the required BTC(while considering the transaction fee) you will have to revisit the link once the transaction gets at-least one confirmation and then wear your copper member's rank as shown below

There is no accurate technical analysis in cryptos my friend. Anything can happen to the BTC price in the next 24 hours. It's purely based on hope, manipulation and speculation. Luckily the BTC price is now volatile once again. Just notice the sudden deeps, Where the price seems to have settled up a bit is where you make an entry and set your sell target( not so high of course) To me 2-5% gains is enough in this bearish market because if you try to be greedy, You will loose everything. Also never forget to set a stop-loss in case the price doesn't rise to your expectation.

I think the best boards to post this kind of information are the Scam Accusations Board and the Investigations ChildBoard ( incase you are not yet sure whether it's scam or don't have enough evidence to pin the culprit) There you can call upon the bounty manager or manager of the project to head over the thread and answer any accusations made against their project. Failure to do so would mean that it's scam and get the culprits accounts red tagged.

Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Best blockchain to build dapps on??
|
on: December 08, 2018, 04:38:08 AM

What do you guys think?
There's MOAC, EOS, Ethereum, and NEO. What else?
Have seen so many DAPPS in the Ethereum and EOS platforms... This could mean that its easier or cheaper to build dapps on those platforms compared to NEO or MOAC However we have more Dapp platforms like, ➖Tronix ➖ NEM ➖ QTUM ➖ Cardano ➖ Vechain ➖ Ontology ➖ Zilliqa ➖ Lisk ➖ ICON Tried to pick ones that have a market cap of atleast over $100M So try to check them and see... Building a Dapp on any of them could also need a specific type of skill or knowledge.

Yes, they were good times but most times people always look at only the good times . They always think that there will only be good times without any bad times, they are totally wrong and these are the people who end up being very disappointed incase anything does not go their way because they are not prepared to see the negative side. Some of them end up even spreading FUD and becoming trolls - More like publicly abusing your ex-wife that she's ugly yet you once nurtured and married her

Agreed, pretty hard to predict the outcomes of the market in the next 24 hours but from where i am one thing i noticed is that there is always a deep towards the weekends and a slight rise on Monday or Tuesdays (has happened in most cases) so i usually buy the deep on weekends and exit latest on Wednesdays before the next drop... that's what i have been doing lately.

I understood. Then there is only one thing-to tighten the rules for obtaining the rank of Jr.Member to 10 merits. This will reduce spam, but will not solve the problem of one-day accounts for spam and fraud.
If this happened even today, i would also leave the forum. It would be totally demoralizing for newbies looking to rank up. This kind of attitude towards new members must stop. With this kind of restrictions, this forum will just loose it it no time and new users will just migrate to other forums with "softer" rules. You don't want to see to a lengendary Bitcointalk forum loose it's number one spot to a new rival forum Or, we should make different merit requirements for creating a topic in various threads, e.g. if you want to open a topic in the Beginners's section (or in the OFF topic), you don't have to have any merits, but if you want to open an [ANN] thread, you should have at least 5 merits etc.
More reason for genuine new users to go to other forums. what will stop the genuine devs from going to other forums to post their projects due to the stringent measures on bitcointalk? Am pretty certain that the altcoin section brings in almost half of the users in here, so imagine there are little or no more ANNS of projects in the Altcoin boards due to your strict rules but instead there are quite a number of them in other crypto forums... i guess you know what will happen next. You may not see it short term, but long term, it has an effect.

# download most of your apps, from play store or apple store
Google play store is a haven of both Malicious and authentic apps, as I talked about in this post, Not all crypto apps in App stores are safeYou will realise that just downloading from Google play or appstore isn't enough. You have to use the official link from the official website of the coin/token which could just be a direct download or probably link you to an app store to their official app. Also you have to be very vigilant, look at the number of downloads, number of reviews, positive and negative, time and pattern of reviews(very important in determining fake reviews)
