Dang! I just lost HUGE on Da Dice. Shouldn't have chased a loss. Second time making the mistake. Sad
I hope that you have verified your bets to make sure they were legitimately calculated to be actual losses.

edit: what is your DaDice username?

All our bets can be verified all the time -- you know that! Otherwise come and check it out Grin
If you (or someone) can give me ndnhc's DaDice account name then I will check out his bets

Working fine to me. There are other users online too. Smiley

I asume it's @wannaplaydadice
If that is his username then he had exceptionally bad luck. He lost everything almost as soon as he started playing. Without the betID's it is not possible to verify the bets though

I verified my bets. Smiley

Really sad that I would have won the next bet.  Cry

60 < 71.58. Dang!
2302  Economy / Gambling / Re: DaDice.com - Next Gen Social Gambling Dice Experience | Progressive Jackpot on: August 25, 2015, 05:39:46 AM
The problem here is that Dadice hadn't mentioned that rule at first (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=996260.msg11994350#msg11994350), but suddenly came up with it last week when it had extended downtime (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=973765.msg12183171#msg12183171).

It is always a bad idea to change the rules of an on-going campaign, as it will for sure cause confusion and controversy.

My point exactly.

I could understand reaching out and crediting user who won with their "modified" timeframe, but changing stance and terms of their own OP .. not as much

Hi,

Your statement is not valid in my opinion. If you disagree then you should have got in touch with Da Dice when he announced so. You can't simply wait for everything to be over and then come up with your argument.

The downtime was unexpected, and it is only fair that it be deducted from the downtime. Other way round, you are giving the full control of who wins to DD which might even beat the concept of provable fairness.

Da Dice or any other site always reserve the right to change their terms if changing the terms result in a more fair way of evaluating.
The participant who predicted 20th is the winner because downtime is not his fault. That is the correct argument.
And I'd personally argue that DD did the best possible thing by deducting the downtime, by upholding the fairness and integrity of the competition.

Just my opinion. Wink
Thanks

A couple of bets backfired and many of the top % went down. Smiley

Why does it keep increasing or decreasing Huh
2308  Economy / Gambling / Re: DaDice.com - Next Gen Social Gambling Dice Experience | Progressive Jackpot on: August 24, 2015, 05:11:23 PM
How does the downtime affect the prediction contest?

Downtime is deducted for judging the correct prediction. So it would be as if downtime hadn't happened. Smiley

Just had a look at the leaderboard for the 1st time. My old friend ndnhc is winning - go on buddy Grin.
Early days in this month long competition though, will be fun to keep an eye on it. Good luck to all the competitors.

ndnhc is very good, very Smiley

lol, I am flattered. Cheesy

I am betting aggressively with small amounts - 5-7% of the bankroll to win the contest. Since the amount is small enough I can take good risks. Smiley
And since I am ahead already, it allows me to take more % risk than usual. My strategy is simply based on the rules of the contest. I just got lucky with a couple of risky bets. Smiley
2312  Economy / Gambling / Re: DaDice.com - Next Gen Social Gambling Dice Experience | Progressive Jackpot on: August 24, 2015, 03:57:26 PM

Stats is not up yet. DD just made sure the main site goes online as soon as possible. Smiley

Working fine to me. There are other users online too. Smiley

We are glad to announce that dadice is finally online again.

Once again our apologies for the downtime!

That is Great! Cheesy

Yeah, safety first. Smiley

How long does dadice downtime?

dev said around 2-3 days right? is that really critical error on dadice?

if what dadice said about hosting hack then they need to change the hosting company...^^

Site should be up soon. Cheesy

Was there logins in the auth.log from an outsider using root or a bash_history showing someone was using the root account?  It's a bad idea to have ssh access open to root accounts.  You should use another account and SU.  Also you should have hidden bastion server access and not allow any ssh from IP's other than two bastions (the other as a backup).

I ask because rarely does a hack happen with a root password.  Typically it's poor code allow cross-site scripting, SQL injection etc. etc.  If there is no proof of shell access search access logs for PUTS and POSTS to narrow it down.  Or, check your database integrity to see if it was compromised.

Some feedback from the tech team:

We are not running SSH on standard ports anyway and direct root logins are also prohibited. Once again our password is very strong and cannot be brute forced, only hosting provider had access to our server for management purposes.

The results of the findings of our investigation regarding the compromised server:

It seems the reason is an ex-employee's frenzy. We learned that they had the same issue with other servers as well.

Right now we have downloaded a copy of the main database and deleted it from the server, and stopped execution of DaDice gameplay scripts completely. They have offered to either scan our server and make sure there are no Trojans or rootkits or any other threat active on the server or to build up a new matching server with a fresh install of our gameplay script / database etc. We have opted for a new server and are expecting to be up and running sometime tomorrow.

does secondstrade really offers Binary Trading options Huh
i mean are they legitimately following the international market and making it available to users in bitcoins ?
it seems like dice to me just up and down, its the same thing.

They do. Smiley

All are real markets. If gold moves up in real market it moves up too. Only the Dice is random.

Just a few hours after the opening there has been lots of action here. As of expected from ndnhc 42 bet slips already ( this guy is always good with gambling and such ). If you are reading this post DirectBet, would be nice if we can bet for the winner of this competition as well ( putting my money on ndnhc to be top three if he is available to bet on  Tongue )

Don't get me wrong there. This is my first try ever in spots betting, and honestly I don't read news or follow things up. Most of my bets are blind ones (you could guess that from the range of games I am betting, lol), so I'd advice you to do the research before picking a bet.

I would say stick with the established ones as their bets are more conservative. I am being aggressive and got lucky. Smiley

You may bet, but at your own risk.
2319  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: FREE Tipster Competition 1 BTC Prizes - sponsored by directbet.eu - LIVE BOARD on: August 23, 2015, 06:54:40 PM
Available shows 123.2 mBTC.

Si that is my bankroll, and I will be able to bet 5% of that? or the 5% of the old bankroll?
2320  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: FREE Tipster Competition 1 BTC Prizes - sponsored by directbet.eu - LIVE BOARD on: August 23, 2015, 06:45:13 PM

Yeah it is indeed my first try. I don't think I will be able to maintain the position for the next 25-30 days though. Wink
Well, no harm trying, except losing the 0.1. Wink
