oh well it was a good conversation I think, cant remember lol. Not really seeing how this wallet will increase value of the coin. I have seen many times a wallet come out and the price go down when everyone thinks it will go up

It simply won't. Nothing that the current stooges dev team can come up will ever increase the value of this project that, as it is, remains grossly overvalued only on the expectation current bagholders have they will be able to sell when the SupertNET comes to fruition... even though that has long been discounted in the price, which slowly will return to under 3000 and below now.

Just for speculation fun

Looks like we finally retested 5k an it held.
Remember it was only a few weeks ago that we were wondering when we would break 5k.

that is also my point. This project is supposed to be a long-term one, and there will be plenty of ups and downs on the way. There will be also plenty of FUDsters and prophets coming here every day to spread their word, myself included. Make your business usual, do not fall in their traps.

Let me tell you something you obviously are going to disregard immediately but it is 100% true nevertheless: There's no "long term" in crypto. Any crypto that pretends it is "long-term" will just make your money disappear.

No exceptions.

2 days ago barabbas was saying that he was buying, at that time he acknowledged the fud.. Smiley

He's just trying to get his orders filled ..

2 days ago I had not heard of MegaChat.

To believe that any post of mine will have ANY influence whatsoever in the trading price is just... let's say preposterous, ok?
1084  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Viorcoin | Voice & Video Call | ViorNumber | Cheap International Calls on: January 23, 2015, 03:56:02 PM
While the dedication of three posters here is endearing, and the usual greed-driven "support" of another half-dozen regulars keep the thread in the first pages of BTCT all the time, fact is that MegaChat has pretty much killed this project... that even before Megachat was in a very, very difficult  field plagued with plenty of very powerful and compelling alternatives.

The cries of FUD make the whole thing only more pathetic.

Or perhaps due to the outage, who knows.

9 hours of post were lost in the outage. BTCT  has  Twitter and informed people.

What are the ICO funds for

Legit question

I want to know too.

They are for "development". The proper translation is "for the developer".
1087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 21, 2015, 02:40:06 PM
Well, at least Paycoin is getting some free publicity....
http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2015/01/bitcoin-startup-gaw-miners-reportedly-under-sec-investigation/

I cannot believe how f**ked up this is, JG and Paycoin seem to stumble from one clusterfuck to the next,  like the 3 Stooges with a massive pile of someone elses money.
A rollback of Paybase trading (even though there seems to be no evidence that the platform was actually faulty) would be the cherry on top of the cake.

Anyone with money still in XPY must either be the most optimistic noob ever, or simply daytrading for quick bucks.
I can't believe that anyone could now take this shit seriously as a long term investment.

So I take you consider a foregone conclusion that he will not honor his promised $20 per XPY reiterated offer and, consequently, he will face ruin, jail and/or the prospect of living outside of the US Justice System for the rest of his life, including wife and children, right?

Messy as indeed the whole thing is at the moment, I believe most people still hanging on to XPY do so because they believe that reiterated public promise will be indeed honored, on one side, and because the coin and Paybase themselves, have -they believe- a great future ahead.

But yes, at the moment, clusterfuck kind of describes rather well the reality of that particular enterprise... which by no means implies Garza cannot come out of it swinging.
1088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 21, 2015, 01:08:10 PM
It definitely looks pretty bad. As bad as it can look, actually.

Especially the official silence.

Price holding decently is quite surprising though...
1089  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Launches Investigation Into GAW Miners (also Paycoin) for Securities Fraud on: January 21, 2015, 03:40:29 AM
This stinks to fake to high heaven... ah what some would don just to feed their hatred... amazing...

Wow. I'm speechless... especially by the part that is supposed to make it more accessible to the average every day user... you know for those already familiar with terms such as "turbo bootstrap"...

The stooges have done it again... hilarious.
Especially because, as it happens traditionally,  most of it won't work on windows, of course.

Like I said,  hilarious.

1091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 20, 2015, 06:51:58 PM
Considering many thousands of XPY purchased for pennies -or as low as 0.065 at bittrex- have flooded the sell side with people dumping for massive profits, I consider the price above 0.120 to be holding remarkably well and setting quite a significant rebound in hours/days to come.

It is also, considering the crappy behavior of the rest of the market, the only game in town currently. I'm in.

1093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: January 20, 2015, 06:34:00 PM
Has the source for this been out? Any evidence that it's actually legit?

Absolutely not, we have only developers word that it is fair, closed source. On top of that it looks like it has totally centralized structure, more even than Ripple or Stellar. Amazing people still consider it cryptocurrency, they are more like tokens.

Well, There are actually some exchanges listing 'mangocoinz'. That makes me think that it must share features with the altcoins we're familiar with, but without the source code we can't confirm that the network is secure. The devs have probably invested in promotion in websites that cryptocurrency fans visit. Although I like the idea of mobile mining, I can't this coin being widely adopted nor successful if there isn't more transparency. At least not amongst our community.

As I posted above this is not a crypto but a (project in beta phase of) alternative CENTRALIZED digital currency. This is obviously different from the usual shadowcoin copy/paste hackjob.

If you don't trust the developers you should not invest in it. There's no network,  in the traditional sense and the official block chain, like the project at large, is still in beta... meaning for those who believe in it there could be huge rewards ahead if the potential,  which is humongous,  materializes in the future. . Near future that is.

But, again, this is NOT a conventional crypto in any way, shape or form.

The beauty of it -one of many- is that you can see the project through and being part of it with no cost to you whatsoever... while, if you want, benefiting from the advantages of physical exercise.  What other alt guarantees that you won't be scammed no matter what AND that you can if you want burn some calories while earning coins with your smart phone? THAT'S how different this project is.

One more word on exchanges: without offer AND demand, what's the point of being listed? Want to take a look to libertcoin or unbreakablecoin on cryptsy?

Let's create the market first and then the exchanges will line up for us. It doesn't work the other way around AND will sink the project instead.
1096  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: January 20, 2015, 12:59:23 PM
Big thanks to everyone who chose to participate in last week's task of spreading the word to at least 10 or more family members and friends. Hopefully we have got a bunch of new members interested in the project and the concept of making money exercising with your android phone.

I was counting on having a new name and logo by now but our devs are seemingly too busy trying to get the money for the iPhone to move on this that in my view was a requisite to attack the next task, so I will announce it when the new name and logo are decided. But meanwhile keep on bringing more people to the fold because exciting things will be coming in big time to this project in the near future and don't forget that each and every one of us is not only a member of this amazing project but also a stakeholder,  a co-owner of the whole thing.

And this thing is going to be big,  real big.

Thanks again!
1097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: January 20, 2015, 11:48:46 AM
couple  quick thoughts since I'm on phone and I hate to type on it:
-- It serves absolutely no point to have this coin listed in any more exchanges at this point. There's no volume/market for it and therefore it would be delisted for inactive in 2 weeks resulting in the actual killing of the project altogether.

-- A market is created ONLY when there are sellers willing to take best offers. That's not the current case here with "sellers" only willing to sell for prices absurdly high compared to recent transactions. A COIN'S ONLY WORTH WHAT SOMEONE IS WILLING TO PAY FOR IT.

-- This is a CENTRALIZED DIGITAL CURRENCY (in beta phase). It is NOT a crypto currency. If you are looking for crypto or decentralized you are looking in the wrong place.

-- According to the devs, the 3 of them currently hold less than 5,000 coins (the three of them together).

-- Devs should come up with a vision for the future of the project. I have requested it but not received an answer yet. It's impossible to make effective decisions without a shared vision...as the above post evidences.

One of the clear advantages of being centralized is that you can make decisions without consensus. "Meetings" are only efficient when they serve specific purposes and bring solutions.

At this point, if no money enough for the iPhone 6 has been raised,  you should proceed ahead with what you have. This project is a race against the clock and you can't afford to stay idle regardless of the reason.

Let's get the common target and go for it.
1098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MangoCoinz Official ANN Thread - Mine cryptocurrencies on you smart phone on: January 20, 2015, 11:25:11 AM
If you're trying to "target" female audience name should be kept as it is or it should be changed to something related to fitness such as "GoFit". From marketing point of view you will push away female audience if you change the name to "ManGO". Gender bias would keep females from downloading this app.

just my few cents.

You are 100% right. And this should be a MAJOR consideration.
1099  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [VRC] | VeriCoin | POS-NSDI | VeriBit | VeriSend | VeriSMS | SuperNET Core on: January 19, 2015, 03:46:54 PM
Why do you still hang around even after devs don't deliver. Save your btc while you can!

There is nothing wrong in discussing the state of VRC and exchanging ideas, but I don't think anyone expect anything anymore from the three Stooges here.
The current slight price change doesn't really matter. The current slightly higher price doesn't change the fact that the coin is completely hopeless. Just like it doesn't make any differences from supporters viewpoint that the Lichtenstein football team loose a game by 8 or 5 goals, from VRC bagholders viewpoint it doesn't make any differences that the price of VRC is 4K or 5k.

To me it actually may make a difference. .. it is no "slight" at all; it's actually almost a double (and still at highs of months as I write) from lows and a break from a deathly downside spiral since the sell off after James came on board. It is quite significant.  Especially taking into consideration the fact that it has happened in a week in which all digital currencies have been decimated and James' holdings have lost on average 40% of its value.

The only thing that makes it of little interest -so far- is the menial volume. But it clearly shows the coin still has a pulse and makes you wonder who is buying kt now and paying double the price that it had a week or so ago. I'm quite curious to know what if anything is behind it.
1100  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Paycoin (XPY) is scam on: January 18, 2015, 08:17:41 PM
First, price should go gradually and substantially up as we approach Feb 1st.

Second, I don't believe Garza would risk everything and long time jail scamming people with paycoin. It simply doesn't add up to me...

Of course I've been wrong before...

Why would Karples rob his own exchange and risk jail time and even his life?

Because he could.

Very poor comparison.  Karpeles did whatever it's he did because he could get away with it. ..and, to this day,  he has;  Garza, on the other hand,  cannot get away from this if it's a scam. It's ruin and jail..or at least jail. Not the same situation at all.

Deleting posts is dreadful,  yes. But, regardless what paycoin ends up being,  he's a paranoid individual obviously.
