1421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THOSE BAY FAQs... on: December 05, 2014, 04:29:53 PM
Bobsurplus has now appeared in BAY's thread...

That explains so many things...

Fortunately for them, most people just got out of Dodge.
1422  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: December 05, 2014, 07:58:54 AM

I am not being negative at all, as a matter of fact I am trying, quite hard, to be positive. Statements such as the above will NOT help though. Avoiding my very specific question, will have the opposite effect, of course. Once again: What organizations? and why organizations will have access to thgose "bad hashes" but no individual?

Will you duck those again and come up with another snotty, totally inappropriate remark?

There are non profit organizations like the EFF who have released their own Ad Blocker tool (Privacy Badger).
If and when an illegal file gets shared with a MetaDisk link, that includes the private key to open it, everyone with the link can see it.
So these organizations could keep an eye on those shared links and mark their shards as bad/illegal and add them to a greylist.
Furthermore if users see such links posted online they can also report them.

I mean, unless you are being negative I don't understand the point of your questions.
I'm not ducking your questions I don't think with your attitude you deserve a reply.

We do our best to be as open and transparent as possible, we release regular updates on development progress, and LISTEN very carefully to feedback from our community. We answer all questions as appropriate, and act upon feedback. We even write a blog post with ideas on how we could enable farmers to have their drives clean from illegal content. I don't think it is only my feeling but your last few questions on this thread haven't really been supportive of Storj.

That's because I am NOT supportive of Storj. Not yet. Hence my questioning. But I did not think that not being a pom-pom cheerleader of your project (just yet) would be interpreted as being negative. I guess I was mistaken and exercising critical thinking, of course, is not only not considered helpful but even negative. Wow.

Given such circumstances, by all means go ahead and cater to your pom-poms. I definitely will not be interested in your project any longer.
1423  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: December 05, 2014, 07:54:01 AM
Where's the "old-guard"? The colinfx, thomas-s, mckie....so many? none of them seem to be around anymore... the rats jumped ship? How about morituri, the face of the Black Hand? Interesting to see what 6 months  have done... other than fulfilling my forecast, of course...

Is it just you, Josh, and Pavel that are left?
1424  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [♔] British Digital Currency | 5% annual PoS - Bittrex - Fiat to BritCoin [BRIT] on: December 05, 2014, 07:15:40 AM
Ownership of BritCoin up for auction:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=880941.0

You beat me to it, was going to post here today to let everyone know.  There are 3 days remaining so it's enough time not to spook new buyers and give the community enough time to bid.  As the link mentions I'm looking for someone to take this project forward, as you guys know I haven't been able to move things along fast enough, due to no longer being able to work on this project full time and a severe lack of funds.  The reason for the auction rather than letting this become a community project (apart from the fact I don't know anyone personally who would be suitable) is because in my experience the person/people who will take BritCoin forward will need at least some capital, otherwise things will not progress.

As I mention, I will still be part of the community and will do what I can to further the cause an still think this will be a success, but I'm stepping aside and letting someone else take the lea.  I know things will be better in the long term if this happens.

View the auction here

I hope you all understand why this is for the best interest of Brit, the coin is going in a new direction and I honestly believe it will be better off for it. Smiley

Means the project has stalled I say it's a good thing, I hope there will be some interest.

Brit has a strong marketable name, it's what drew me to the coin in the first place.

Thanks Leigh, there has been some interest from a few people and as I've said I will still be involved with BritCoin when I can, but handing over the reigns to someone new who I'm sure will push this project forward will be beneficial for everyone. Smiley

BritCoin will progress and the best days are still ahead of us. Smiley

Well, this here is where the sublime meets the ridiculous... which is the nice way to say that you are full of crap. Sorry.
1425  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Storj - Decentralized Storage on: December 05, 2014, 07:10:47 AM

Even more confusing: So an organization could know of "bad file hashes" but an individual or individuals couldn't? What organization, a legal one, such as Law enforcement or just Human Rights and the like?

I HAVE read the blog post, of course...

No need to be negative about the fact that farmers could opt-in to prevent hosting illegal content. I believe it's the way to go.
"Graylisting" is a well known practice from email spam to illegal content such as music and video, etc... Just Google it and learn something new today.  Smiley

As long as we don't know who these guys are and that the thread is non-moderated, it is simply a waste of time.

No one will support you.

We have had this question asked several times by our supporters and non.

Not on my drive: saying no to illegal content on Storj

Read our latest blog post.  Smiley

This attempt is just very confusing for the average "farmer": "shards"?, "gray lists"? How do you see what it is in your hard drive if it is encrypted? If you can see it, the whole anonymity (decentralized) purpose is lost, so how are those "gray lists" created and by who?

I must be quite dense for I don't see how you can get "the best of both worlds"by only allowing legal content in your hard drive if, by definition, you don't know -nobody does- what it is that you are storing...

If you read the blog post it explains it quite well. Farmers don't know what is stored on their hard drives, we make sure of that. If an organization that keeps track of bad file hashes makes a public graylist for shards known to be associated with illegal content, users could opt-in. By doing this they prevent these bad shards to be stored on their drives. And it is not a centralized solution.

Even more confusing: So an organization could know of "bad file hashes" but an individual or individuals couldn't? What organization, a legal one, such as Law enforcement or just Human Rights and the like?

Hi all, just wanted to check in.

I have been notably absent from this board and for those who are supporting Nautiluscoin I appreciate your enthusiasm. To be clear, I have not abandoned NAUT and I continue to make a market with the NSF.

Most importantly, the PoS transition continues but I want to make sure it is done correctly and securely.  I have waited this long to implement my ideas and I am not going away!

This looks like a copy/paste of identical posts... with quite a few months of difference.

You are making a pathetic spectacle of yourself... again, BK.
1429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [NAUT] Nautiluscoin - First Coin w/Stabilization Fund - Digishield on: December 05, 2014, 06:23:00 AM
I believe you are the one spreading FUD and nonsense in your machine-gun-like posting to defend the indefensible. NAUT is a project promoted and started by BK and he has the ethical responsibility of keeping those who he led into putting their money behind his project adequately and amply informed, if not consulted on important decision making. He's the dev and when some people has lost 95% and more of their investment in his coin, sure as hell he owes them explanations and ideas regarding what he plans on doing going forward if not openly ask the community what they think he should be doing.

The law has not caught up with crypto yet, but will soon and what now is simply ETHICAL, will then be a legal obligation just like it is already in teh world BK populates.

Your ass-kissing, by the way, is simply embarrassing and quite offensive for those holding significant bags in NAUT.

Vericoin is the coin of the future... at least until I am out of it with 15-20% profit.

Great devs, great radio... Best thing since sliced bread.

To da moon!!!!
1432  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITBAY is a huge SCAM alert! you will not regret reading this. on: December 05, 2014, 05:34:34 AM
almost forgot this pure blatant scam.  and amazed to see many "newbies" fall for it.

There are no newbies "falling" for it; it's a bunch of sock puppets for the most part and a very, very few real "newbies".

By now everyone and his aunt knows the details of the scam, including the Project Manager, Zimbeck. The bubble is burst and it's only a matter of a few months before this scam project becomes just another sad memory. No one will make any money, not even the scammers. And Zimbeck will pay with his credibility and future for those 100BTC he got... the biblical "30 coins", so to speak, for leading a few not so innocent people into the obvious scam.

1434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THOSE BAY FAQs... on: December 05, 2014, 01:32:07 AM
Barabbas' strategy is to attack every project saying they are a scam.

And when he eventually sometimes gets it right, he can say told you so. When he doesn't, he just quietly goes away.

+1

Except that I HAVE TOLD YOU already multiple times: Blackcoin, Libertycoin, Pinkcoin, Vericoin, Pesacoin,
Nautiluscoin... ALL of them have saved people money.

Now you have BitBay. REMEMBER that I told you so from the get go.

Or not.
1435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THOSE BAY FAQs... on: December 04, 2014, 11:34:03 PM
Just one question for Barabbas, Where's Your Coin?  So many posts by you in multiple forums telling how it should be or not be so you must have all the answers to how a coin needs to be developed and have the ability to succeed.  I mean come on, every post I have read is you laying it out exactly how you think it's supposed to be.  I'm patiently waiting for your coin now.  Let's all see what you got.  Seriously not joking.  You got some developers working with you yet since you got all the ideas?  Put your money where your mouth is and show the rest of us please.

I believe I have answered that question many times to you and others: It's called BTC. I deeply recommend it.
1436  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THOSE BAY FAQs... on: December 04, 2014, 11:31:32 PM
Of course I got some Bay. bN2NGi2bF1cpcQcsxmY4daCpi2tQqW5tnS  and  bNgmCcxPKgQQqUe6rhNtbGWowMJFCuxjZ3 there is a small amount more on
the exchange too. However, i took most of it off the exchange simply because I dont like having my coins on exchanges. (lost some on Mintpal) :/

Also, the fee in BTC was higher than 40. It was about 100.
1JTyPBZm2g6VesSKm23FFtzhNVHVJ47zhE Thats where the deposit was made
and the rest i cashed out

All this negativity barrabas (or whoever) is not healthy for you internally. I have no clue how you can harbor so much of it. Instead of going after people that deserve it (like Mark Karpeles et al or some of the guys from Mintpal)  you decide to attempt to attack one of the only honest people in crypto. It almost seems like you have some sort of personal axe to grind. If it was about BC, we all lost money... I never sold either. And I'm still coding for BC sorry if you or anyone else doesnt have the patience. Also im one of the only ones who doesnt cower behind a fake name.

As for "never being able to peg" I think you just dont understand how pegging works. It only requires control of basic network rules and scripts.  There was a video where I describe it. It has already been done in 2 coins (NuBits and BitUSD). My method varies slightly from theirs however the theory is still the same. Do yourself a favor and read NuBits whitepaper and watch my video. You might learn something.

As for my own admissions about my personal life, they are few and far between and you seem to like to take beautiful and positive parts of my life and desperately try to turn them into something they are not. I was happy selling real estate during the collapse. Because of it, i met one of my closest friends and had one of the most difficult and rewarding deals any realtor could have. Not everything in my life hinges or career and money. If it did, i would have pursued any one of my career options full time. I was too busy exploring lifes options. You seem like one of those "glass half empty" kind of guys. Not sure if talking down to others makes you feel better about yourself or not but regardless, I'm not going to waste any more time entertaining these subjects. You got more than enough play here.

I've got software to make and hopefully you have your own life to live. Next time, point your finger where it belongs. In the mirror.

Now I'm done here.

Thank you for volunteering more information than needed, really. So you got 150 BTC altogether, 50 of which are in BAY. Like I said, it was not needed -in such detail- but thanks anyway. While it says a lot about your personal transparency regarding compensation, it is still not official -although duly noticed by most of the people- that you are not the lead developer of BAY, just a coder doing a job and, when done, ready to go on your way. You would have your reasons to not set that particular record straight, but, once more, as such, you are aiding and abetting, for your personal profit, a scam.

Don't worry about my negativity... I am only negative on what deserves to be negative about. There are only a handful of coins I am negative about (currently four) and even less than I am denouncing as the scams they are, including, obviously, BAY. I am negative in the entire ALT spectrum because scams like BAY have dried out any and all investment, so innovation simply won't happen outside of one or two already well funded projects (Ethereum), but mostly because the profile of the altcoin community is hideous from any stand point and, financially-wise, non-existent. But that is, in fact, another subject to which I have posted amply already.

I believe you could teach me a few chess moves and maybe some python... maybe. Anything else, sorry but no. And the "pegging" or whichever other name you use for it, simply will not happen, nor will the stabilization in ANY altcoin.

In alts -as opposed to real life-, there isn't a matter of "half empty/half full glasses": We KNOW exactly how empty or how full the glasses are. In the case of BAY, we know -yes, you included-, it is a scam and it is being perpetrated the exact way that I have told you and everyone else it is being perpetrated. It isn't a question of having doubts, or opinions. It has been done many times before and this one is not particularly intelligent, to boot.

As for dd smart contracts and bit Halo, it isn't me, it's the entire community that has rendered it's verdict long ago. Not a matter of opinions. There's no real-world use for them, none of any significance and that will not be changed by my opinion or opposed opinions of whomever; if it were to be changed it would be by people actually using it. There aren't any. And there will not be any. Other than that it has even been reining in all of Los Angeles for 3 days -nothing better or more "half full", except the incredibly gorgeous day that we are having afterwards with clean air and visibility for miles. I'm also imbued already with the full Christsmas spirit, everyone is wonderful and cops haven't even killed any new negroes in the past few hours. What more can you ask for as "half ful" glasses go? Still, BAY is a scam. AND YOU AND ME BOTH KNOW IT.

Just to clarify things for you, I did not lose any money on BC. As a matter of fact, since I detected the obvious scam and forecast all along what the price would do, I was able to get out with a profit a long time ago. I haven't followed their "dancing of the threads" either, since I had no other interest than prevent innocents from being scammed and that was achieved, to the limit of my ability, many months ago. I understand there have been changes at the top and now Josh is boss (and, apparently, flowers-pants boy and the Don-ge, as well as the Black Hand and his front man are out). If that is the case, Pavel is a great dev and Josh, I believe, is a good guy --even though he put up, I assume for profit, with the amazing scam perpetrated by the Black Hand with the consent and cooperation of the entire team, Josh included. Still, BC has not found any real world use for the coin -in any significant way- and, at this stage, it is obvious that it won't in the future even though, IF the clean up is real, it can be one of the best out there... without HALO, that is, that brings nothing to the table.

By all means go and make that software whose ONLY purpose is to get 33% of funds released tomorrow and the remaining 33% as soon as you can possible come up with some semblance of an exchange (take another look at NEXT or even Unbreakable for they have already working platforms, have had for months, that's how innovative that software is). And believe me, that's it. For you and for BAY. Meanwhile, at roughly 20 BTC per day on  average, your Chinese guy is going to find it quite hard to even recoup the 150BTC that he has paid you, yso he will not make any money -no one will- and you would have sold your reputation for a very small price, while inflicting BC the potentially final coup the grace.

The time to come out of it in any way clean, is almost up. But you have made your decision, so harakiri it is. Pity.
1437  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: It looks like Bytecent is going off the rails on: December 03, 2014, 11:23:23 PM
Wow, a shitcoin goes down the crapper. Now thatīs truly unusual, Hold the presses.

You might have jumped the gun just a tiny bit there pardner...
1438  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITBAY is a huge SCAM alert! you will not regret reading this. on: December 03, 2014, 11:21:55 PM
And just to clarify that the people behind BitBay are liars, here's the proof from the horse's (David Zimbeck) mouth: "So as far as them putting my name to this. If you read the OP on BCT, they put me as lead dev before I had a chance to announce the news to BC. I was upset since the gossip spread so fast I didnt even have time to talk on my own behalf and so I had them change the post to say i was ONLY a project manager."

You can see that in their most recent post of the screenshot of the wallet, they still claim Zimbeck is the "lead developer".

In spite of the quoted words, Zimbeck himself is far from out of the waters as perpetrator or co-conspirator or aid and abettor of this scam since everyone still believes that he is in fact the lead developer and, in spite of my insistence, he still hasn't come clean in their official thread setting the record straight. He claims to have been paid in BTC for specific independent contractor commitment but has not denied that he may have also been paid in BAY in a very significant amount... which will explain his reluctance to distant himself from what he recognizes as a potential scam based on common sense: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=880138.0

Draw your own conclusions.
1439  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BITBAY is a huge SCAM alert! you will not regret reading this. on: December 03, 2014, 09:43:18 PM

only one question. who is the Chinese? without the clarification, Chinese investors treat shitbay as scam for sure.

You have clearly just posted something that had already previously been resolved, you have absolutely zero evidence of anything just theories , thats all you have . without evidence its just a theory, if you could back it up then i would agree with you, but only after seeing evidence

Posting stuff that has already been clearly resolved if you take 5 minutes to look, proves you are grasping at straws and have no real evidence, thats why you are trying to nit pick and every single little thing hoping to reveal some ill intent , which you still cannot prove.

Prove it with evidence, or keep showing desperation by posting stuff that has been resolved and explained

+10

Some people i will never understand, what is the motivation.

Perhaps to try and preserve what was once a nest of dynamic investment in innovation before the crooks came and rampaged it with their scams?

Just a thought...
1440  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: THE WALL OF SHAME on: December 03, 2014, 09:36:51 PM
Anyway, there is an interesting discussion in the BitBay thread and there are many rational arguments that point out why a decentralized market place (with the double escrow feature of David's Halo) would not work. And they haven't even started to discuss the main issue, that law enforcement agencies would shut down the whole thing.

A few people is starting to see the obvious. As for Halo itself (and NT), it is quite clear that they have no practical significant usability or BC would have rocketed a long time ago instead of keep on languishing at all time lows.

Zimbeck has clearly detached himself -although not yet on the official thread- from the BAY scam, stating clearly he was hired to do a job but he is NOT lead developer, as it is still presented https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=880138.msg9716537#msg9716537. He will deliver the software he is contracted to deliver and that's the end of his commitment. People at BAY still is not aware of this and believe BAY is Zimbeck's coin. They will realize the truth momentarily and the scam will implode very, very quickly.

One of these days, some of these puerile, geeky developers is going to realize that the alt "economy" doesn't exist at all and that it does not cross over to the BTC economy -that exists and is growing... albeit at much slower pace than anticipated. Therefore to create tools for that (non-existent) "economy" is a total waste of time for it doesn't cross over to BTC's economy and it cannot be farther away from actual practical use in the real world.

Everyone and his aunt has thought the "wonderful idea" of creating a crypto e-Bay... they just "forget" that eBay's success is due to the simple fact that it has tens of millions of REAL BUYERS, while any "crypto-eBay" will have a few pot-smoking, no-money-and-living-in-their-patents'-garage 30 year old losers only interested in 4 things (in no particular order): Pot, masturbating, hacked video games and not working a single day in their lives. That's the average demographic in alts. Quite a customer base! No wonder merchants are not exactly trampling over each other to get a piece of that particular cake...

That's an interesting conversation between you and David.

Since he mentioned you that he had a long private chat with me, it's probably all right if I mention here that I've suggested him exactly the same as you have: in order to provide investors with the correct information about his roles and responsibilities in the BitBay project he must make clear for everyone that he is just a developer, a contractor instead of the organizer of the project. Otherwise everyone can rightly assume that he is one of the scammers. I said to him as well that investors put money into the project because of him, while (according to him) he has very little control over the destiny of the project. I suggested him to open a separate thread to make a statement about it. It seems he doesn't want to distance himself from the project organizers.

He came cross as a very civil and reasonable guy during our discussion, but it seems he can't make his mind up terms of how to communicate his roles on the BitBay project.

I hope the altcoin developers read you description of their user base and revise their business plans by taking into account that info :-))

I believe Zimbeck is not being truthful when stating his commitment to BitBAY, otherwise why would he not come out and clear his name and involvement completely? He may be in for a very significant amount of BAY as part of his compensation, otherwise it just doesn't make any sense at all for, by now, he KNOWS the details of the scam, whether he can prove it or not, so being ambiguous about it is trying to keep two doors open, in case worst case scenario materializes, when the actual reality is that he will shut them closed both and he will be the target of all the wrath when the rest of the shit hits the fan.

But BAY is only one problem. Zimbeck has Halo, which is ANOTHER problem for, realistically, it has no value nor purpose. The double deposit idea is simply laughable and the rest of the use-cases, in real life, are not just minimal but fully avoidable. And, tech-wise, Halo is to Ethereum -and others- what a park hacker is to Koby Bryant.

As for the alts user base, the demographics are a bit wider than that but I wanted to paint a clear picture so people understand why there's no progress in adoption. It's like trying to sell bikinis in the North Pole.
