Nobody can ever say this is not funny.

Now, with everyone and his aunt running to stake, the supply will disappear and the price run back up?

I have ordered lots of pop corn...

Just curious, who do you guys think will buy this coin after the growth period?  Everyone will have tons of newly minted coins to sell but what reason would people have to buy once growth is over?  I worried this will be a dump festival.

You should read the thread, you obviously missed something.

Sure let me just read 55 pages instead of asking a simple question.  Thanks for the insight, you should post more often.

Try reading Cryptzo's posts--you can find them from his profile page. Since he's the main dev, most of the pertinent info you are looking for can be found in his posts.

Yep. You will find particularly enticing the fact that he doesnt believe in devs not being paid -as in a salary or some dependable source of income-. Since he made all of 6 btc from the amazingly successful ICO, you do the math...

FUD, FUD, FUUUUD....

Havent you heard yet? This coin is the only hope the world has to survive... and I will be eating my words when the market cap reaches 10 million BTC... which is sure to happen within a week or two...

Amazing, really really amazing.

FAQ Cards for @VeriCoin - 02.Why Should I Use VeriCoin?

It is amazing to me that you can think of those cards as anything with even remote interest for the oeople that are not already experts in cryoto currencies. Simply amazing.

Almost as amazing as to believe that creating the cheerleader's club would have any other effect ghan the one it is having on the price.

I live in perpetual stste of amazement here...

So am I the only one left here? Did Barabbas even leave too?

Nope, still here.

@ UK,

YES it is disappointing that James dont answer quite crucial questions of late. Perhapd the reason for the decline in price of late? In any event James absence of this forum will spell doom for vericoin. If he doesnt show up here, singles here we come again....

You need to kick it into gear with a shout out to World Vericoin Day!   hahaha

Nah I believe whst really gets it into motion is the hangouts... they should become a daily ghingy. And at least 2-3 thrilling hiurs in length.. With Kewondo ss MC. And followed bg the radio show and a weekly "Top Ten AT THE END OF THE DAY's" to boot. That would fir sure take the prince back to the 50s in a hurry....

BarabbASS, Please do everyone a favor and get over yourself. You still haven't contributed ANYTHING worthwhile for the PINK community. Your old proposal, which you needlessly withdrew, didn't offer anything new to the table, except for your ridiculous pipe dream of influencing who will become the next president. The grandiose marketing scheme which you proposed was already being developed, albeit more modestly and sensibly. PINK is still in its infancy and extremely undervalued. Your plan was simply an obvious attempt to capture a lion's share of the PINK market. Do you honestly believe people are so gullible? Don't bother answering, I already know your rebuttal is that we are simply 'small minded'. Anyways, stop trolling this thread. It has been made quite clear that no-one is interested in your 'opinions' (FUD) here.

I was just answering a question, ASSwipe...

Οk, STFU already..PINK is a solid coin and it has proven that over the past months, not days. What more do you want??

Solid as a rock indeed...  getting solid-er by the minute too.

Almost as solid and successful as that friend's coin our devs have sponsored officially and helped launch. Smashing success indeed...

Recouped.

So 67 Seed were bought in the ICO. And now there are a total of roughly 600 out there. It means that 85 % of the coins were acquired at a cost of ZERO, right? And still the coin is roughly traded at 20% below the ICO price?

I guess miracles do still happen...

But they, for sure, don't last.

Its never a ZERO cost, a lot of people rented miners at substantial cost and with the pools forking and going down the cost to mine went up.  Even If you bought the equipment you still have the equipment cost and cost to run.

It is actually less than ZERO... in many cases. As you know there are people who rent miners and, obviously, those which are not rented are either collecting dust in the shelves or are put to mine things like SEED. For those the cost is less than zero for they derive profits from the rental business. Individuals doing the renting are very, very few I'm quite sure.

Like I said, I am flabbergasted with the price holding here and not having gone yet at least 20 times lower... Watching it now with very special interest.

@ Cryptzo:

After reading your OP, all the pages in this thread and your website, I believe I "get" what this project is. Please feel free to correct any and all inaccuracies...

-- You collected about  60-something BTC in the IPO. But the "wall" that was supposed to exist and being managed by the PINK team is no longer, is it? Since you didn't even come close to reach your target of 500 BTC, that part of the equation (50% of the ICO money destined to safeguard the price at a minimum 0.00012500 BTC) is effectively cancelled or that safeguard will be maintained with just over 30 BTC? I am quite surprised no one seems to care about this...

-- This project has no innovation whatsoever. It is a fork of another coin, as you have admitted, a copy/paste, to be quite frank. The gimmick here is the "1 to 10,000 in 7 days" trick that will supposedly entice greedy miners/early investors willing to plunk out their money for... nothing. Nothing innovative or that brings anything to the table,, right? I am sure I am missing something VITAL here.... but please spare me "future projects and features you have planned". I take it that you have huge plans for this project once the 7 day/269% staking period is over and even greater when the 16%/1 year period is over: It is all in your mind and therefore protected so others cannot copy your brilliant ideas the way yo copied the code of the coin. You don't need to insist in that.

-- As you have already warned several times, there will be a humongous dump when the 269% staking period is over... which you hope will balance out with the added coins gained through the "1 to 1,000" gimmick... and then what? what will be the purpose of holding beyond that, the 16%? Fluctuations of way more than that are common every day right now in SEED -and in many other coins, PINK included... I see a train heading for Palookaville myself, but what do I know?

-- Finally. As per repeated statements, you don't believe in developing for no salary/income. So your salary/income for the arguable many years ahead for SEED, will be those 30-something BTC you got through the IPO? I mean you were counting on 250, or more... (or, in FIAT, around $85,000). 30 BTC are only, roughly $10,000, hardly enough to make rent for a year, let alone any other expenses... how are you going to find the rest to cover your needs? These are NOT personal questions, but directly related to this project and based on your own voluntary and quite clear statements...

I am almost sure you'll have all the appropriate clarifying answers. I thank you for them in advance and will wait for your post.

Not the dev but I can clarify some points for you:

There was only 67 SEED bought in the IPO so between 6.7btc to 8 btc was collected.  So no, the buy wall will not be happening.

If you read the thread you will see Cryptzo has been quite dedicated so if you believe that he will create some good developments invest, if you don't then buy something else.  The distribution is the selling feature simply because its fun and interesting its not 1 to 1000 its 1 seed turns into 9360.  If the price drops by to 1/5000 of the original price you still double your money.  As Sumgye has vouched that he is capable to me that is enough to take a chance with him (but just like all crypto only put in what you can lose)

As to what is the purpose of holding the coin, really that can be said about any coin other then bitcoin.

So I was mistaken and it was 67 SEED bought not 67 BTC in SEED... wow. And that with the full endorsement and support of the entire PINK team. Can you believe it? I have no words... there's always a first time...

Not much news here lately.

But no wonder there is no news when the whole crypto market is in a bit of chaos. Probably Bitcoin will survive and consolidate terms of its presence in everyday life, but all these interesting experiments like Litecoin, Vericoin, Blackcoin, Viacoin, etc. will disappear and of course Supernet too. No usage for these aforementioned altcoins whatsoever (we discussed in this and other threads lengthy that slightly better functionalities like quicker transaction time, more attractive wallet, etc. mean no real advantage over Bitcoin), users can do fuck all with altcoins, therefore the altcoins must and will disappear. Sorry, I wish I could bring a better news for you my fellow vericoin bagholders :-))

I don't believe they will disappear and certainly not within a year. What I expect is a fire sale with all the BS disappearing (that will account for about 80% of altcoins, probably more). But there will be survivors. Supernet? I don't know. I believe it could be the basket of the surviving ones. But the surviving ones will have to prove they serve a purpose (use and/or storage of value). You are quite right that, so far, only BTC seems to serve both purposes, but that is changing> For instance, there's a project coming up in less than 2 weeks, BRO, that uses the simplest of concepts: Crypto as chips, as in casino-chips. That will be usable from day one. And with a huge amount of customers already using either real chips in casinos everywhere, or money (fiat) as chips, online. Since it will comply with all the laws of the land and it is professionally supported and launched, I am quite sure it will be successful. And will "live" for many years. In the Supernet? I am quite sure James is already on the case.

Other ones such as Vericoin? I don't know. Whatever magic James can continue to invoke, will be the ONLY means of survival of Vericoin, beyond a couple of years, tops. Meanwhile, who really cares? All people in Alts care about is making money not in one year but in one week. Or less. The bags don't help the cause, of course, but still enough come in with some resources to try while the bag holders choose to believe in fairy tales that would invalidate their... bad luck.

You have to understand, I'm sure you do, that this whole shebang is a hobby... and expensive one at that. Most people involved in it have invested in it some decent money through GPUs, asics and the like and, lacking cash, they will point their "miners" to anything at all for as long as any of the 8 decimals turns a numbers, regardless in what amount of time. So the games will continue, every time in smaller scale, with a few players dominating and pushing the tech forward. The rest, more than happy with being also runs... especially if they can be interviewed in youtube every once in a while... or conduct their own thrilling pow wows.

But there's a future for altcoins way beyond one year threshold, no question about it. Especially when the legislative clean up machine comes through.

Hey all! We'll still be stopping by these BitCoinTalk Forums from time to time to say hi (and to kill off ridiculous statements and FUD.)

But the vast majority of our time we will be discussing VeriCoin - as well as the technology and philosophy of Digital Currency in general - at our new forums via www.VeriCoinForums.com

It's a really, REALLY nice, comfortable environment for VeriCoin users and investors to openly be themselves while maintaining a certain integrity which, unfortunately, has been lost here.

We highly recommend and encourage ALL Crypto and AltCoin enthusiasts - not JUST VeriCoin supporters - to register at the new forums too. We're having a blast with the new community and the Devs have been really active as well.

Also we're running a special VeriCoin Media Contest (Photos, Memes and Videos) where the winners will net themselves a nice chunk of $VRC if their media is voted the highest!

We plan on doing lots of great things in the new forums and absolutely understand how vital an active, responsive community is to the longevity and reputation of a Digital Currency or Coin.

Please join up and be a part of something special! We appreciate each and every member!
This is only the beginning.

See you there!  Smiley

*Even our emoticons are awesome!

Thank you but I will pass... while I am waiting for James answers to my questions a couple pages back. And will continue posting here which is where anyone with real interest in Vericoin will always post. The cheerleaders' bleachers sound a bit juvenile to me... too old for that shit.

Is everyone on the SEED thread now?

I dont like when there isnt any activity here :/

regards Anoxy

Our thread has always been a quiet one, unless Barrabas stops by of course.

Now I am taking an interested look at that other thread of the coin that the whole dev team officially recommended to its PINK coin holders.

I believe that following that official recommendation would have already resulted in losses of over 90% of their investment?

But who's counting, right? Oh, and of course, SEED is a LONG TERM (years) investment... that's where the real money is. I never, ever quite get that...

Lol, not sure where you learned your math. And what is hard to comprehend about long term investments? I believe there are a couple good altcoins that serve well as long term investments.

But before this turns into another pointless argument of people trying to use big words that they don't understand, let me ask you this. What would you like to see come of Pinkcoin moving forward Barrabas? What would you like to see us develop, or pursue?

Since you ask nicely, I will answer now that I have access to my laptop again instead of just my phone.... oh and you are doing fine by me monetarily-wise. As you know I am  a modest trader and have been able to trade PINK for profits a few times, so no worries there.

What I would have liked PINK to be was outlined in my proposal, which has been post here a long time ago, and that was in direct line with what PINK was originally intended to be... long before you and the software guys decided to "please every one" and more than anyone yourselves by using the platform as a window to sell software... the kind of software a clean coin like the original revamped PINK would not touch... you know? the shady kind? Because PINK was a REAL long term project bent on being USED by people to buy all kinds of things, not a means to entertain illegal pursuits. Or gambling (we did not know at the time that our main man was, in real life, a professional poker player, mind you). You see, those activities are ILLEGAL in the US and sooner rather than later, it's going to catch up with PINK, even before it has lost any semblance of "clean" coin ready for legal approval and mainstream use.

PINK did not need great coders, it was OK as it was: Fastest than most and as secure as any. Much less it needed coders securing themselves a part time (at their total leisure) income with no obligations.

It did not need either to have it's official thread converted in launching pad for friends' coins of extremely doubtful purposes... or none at all.

I liked that coin. It did not need you. Nor any of the others, except Danny -a Danny not mixing profession with PINK, except exceptionally and on a case per case when circumstances warranted-. It also needed people willing to stand for the values that now have become a parody... even with this late push for Breast Cancer (as appreciated as it is). It just needed, again, to be fast. To be secure. To be clean.

Having helped senator Warren gain the White House in the next election (or Hillary, worst case scenario), would have also been a tremendous (and possible) thing to do too.

PS.- If there are some big words in here that you don't understand easily, I suggest Google. It does a remarkable job at explaining some terms.

I use it all the time myself.

Bryan Fayoled has a talk with Jessica Altcoin lady to promote Pinkcoin's charity effort with @NBCF. As some of you may not be active on twitter wanted to share that the Dev team has given up their 25% of @Pinkcoinlottery proceeds for Breast Cancer Awareness Month Pinktober. That makes all proceeds for October going straight to the charity. On top of the lottery draw there is also a 50/50 draw. It's a great time to #thinkpink come join and donate for a friend or family member. As well there is going to be a poker tournament on Oct. 25th to wrap up the fundraising effort its a great way to meet the rest of the pinkarmy. The buy in is 10,000 pinkcoin with 50% of the buy in going to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. I have added links to the article and to the lottery site and to the poker site. Lets have some fun for a great cause. @m_ad_04m_ax_ on twitter.

Hi guys, an update on what's going on with Brit;

We're in the process of doing a 're-launch' of BritCoin which we're hoping will be completed by the end of this week.  The network will be given Tor (+mixer) support and a few wallet changes, we'll be creating a new/better BCT thread as we've gone over 100 pages of replies and I think it's time for a fresh look/direction, all of which will be outlined in the next few days.

We are also looking for new people to join the BritCoin team, right now we need all the help we can get in developing and promoting BritCoin.  If you're interested, don't hesitate to PM or email me. Smiley

Why re-launch?

A failed POD is way worrysome -and probably the cause of the sell offs- and, more recently, failing to deliver on the self imposed obligation (white paper for September).

I dont think BRIT needs a re-launch. I believe it needs clear proof of developers and delivery on promises. A re-launch simply look gimmicky and should have no positive effect whatsoever.
