It is consolidation, control, convenience, security, cost, energy reasons.

Plus I want to see if having a "Hive" of 10 Miners keeps a more steady Mining percentage and even out some of the staking spikes up and down.

It can't be that tough.
I have a server running 24/7 that I can access remotely and check on things
OR shouldn't I also be able to open up a local hive at the same time?

Haven't asked that yet either (Can I have the same wallet running on two machines?)

What are the risks of doing so?

You can certainly have a wallet open on more than one PC but I dont think that you can mine to the same wallet simultaneously. What you want to setup with multiple instances is possible, but I don't think you will get any value out of the effort. Just have one wallet and stake with that.

I did not read the whole text of your announcement thread but the idea is good. You should have choosen a different algo than SHA256. It is not very energy efficient algo. Nevertheless, I'll keep an eye on the coin.

Mining is not energy efficient. Sha256 neither. They compliment each other.  Cheesy Nothing wrong with Sha256 and lots of miners around that used to mine BTC.

NOPE!

My mistake, sorry.

It would be nice, if a schedule could be posted for investors. And some explanations of what to expect.

Do you know, what you have to do at CEX to swap your WOCX for WOC2?

Or, is done automatically with deposited WOCXs?

First of all C-CEX will have to agree. If they agree then it is a seamless process whereby you just send your coins there. If they don't agree, then it is a manual process administered by the dev. The dev will have to sort all of this out to make sure the swop happens.
2205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WOCX - WarOfCoins X11 - C-CEX - WARNET...MASTERNODES.. on: June 12, 2015, 03:54:54 PM
Did you contact C-CEX? I don't see any WOC2? Is the swap completed?

WOC2 Windows wallet is not updating and I doubt the swap will go ahead until the technical hiccup is fixed.

Mind you, Masternodes within 2 months is very quick, so a few teething issues is not surprising.

Give it some time.

What you are seeing is normal and it does not look like there is a technical problem. The chain will be in its current state since there have not been blocks since. It will seem "stuck" for probably a day by now and the progress bar will not move. Once the taps are opened the progress bar will jump to current.

The coin specs for WOC2 looks very responsible and I am impressed, as if the dev has a plan with War.Net. Most **** lately have large coin blocks but WOC2 is at 50%/a which is not to low and not too high. It is within the inflation acceptable range of 40-130% p/a. There is scope to have notched it up to 100% but 50% is very responsible inflation wise and is a good indicator of dev intent. A dev that is in for a quick buck would have put in blocks of 50 and 100 coins and not care about long term inflation because they obviously don't plan to be around long. This means that WOC2 will remain scarce and under 1m for a while and the coin should hold its price pretty well. In fact, if the dev delivers on his side the coin should be able to maintain a high price.

Inflation graph assuming all coins are staked.

Alright - Back on a track of reason.

I need help making several MTR Wallets on the same PC.

Pretty much I want to have about 7 of them in an external SSD drive. (Yes I have accumulated enough coins to make it worth it.)

I want them all to work and to stake.

I don't really want the main PC to have the MTR Wallet actually installed directly in my AppData folder on C:

So ... isn't there a way to make a batch file in windows to set them all up?
datadir

Make them "listen" ...

I sure could use some help.

I have several server PC's that run 24/7 ... (Except they are Win7 Pro)

I just want to make a "wallet staking cluster" - and NOT have to have my main PC or Video server running 24/7 - (Summer weather etc.)

Isn't it just a CMD batch file in Windows?
Or does it involve special commands in the MTR wallet?

I have some skill in very specific areas of windows but have to learn everything from scratch on new areas ... so I figured to ask for help before I start the effort.

Thanks in Advance !

What you are attempting is a bit on the complex side. It depends on what your objective is if it is worth the effort. Is it for security reasons? Is it for energy saving reasons? If it is for engergy, I would recommend setting up a Raspberry Pi and run your wallet there 24/7 at 5W of electricity.

If you want to run different wallets on one PC, then you have to create separate directories on your PC "somewhere" of your liking. You then create desktop icons for each instance eg MTR1, MTR2 etc. in the path you specify the mastertrader.exe and add -datadir=pathtoyourdatadir. You can then fire up each instance and it will co-exist. I would recommend putting a bootstrap.dat into each directory where your wallet.dat files are. There is a bootstrap.dat that I made at around 50k+ in the thread but I can update that to current 110k.

Do you realixe thst what you are in fact asking me to f o is to "let the dev (and the rest of us, supporters) steal just this one time, he -if successful- 500 BTC and you whatever the ooint where you sell is"?

Sorry, no dice.

It is interesting that you claim to know what goes on inside my head. This makes me wonder if it is the same methods you applied to know what goes inside the devs head. I told you earlier what my plan is yet you say something different in your last post. Anyways I am not asking anything but to not attempt to wreck a project that shows promise. That is all and not unreasonable. If the 120k price and number of coins turns out to be too high an amount voted on by the community (not the dev) then lower it.

I presume you were present here and observing during the voting process for this placement? These are the facts. You will remember the dev expressing the need to hold a conference for marketing purposes and needed to raise funds for it. The community agreed. The dev then put up a poll with different amounts of coins and different prices ranging from 100k to 400k coins and I think 75k price to 120k price. The community voted and the 400k coins at 120k won. The dev then executed on that mandate. It would have been a different matter if the community voted on 100k coins and 75k price and he executed 400k coins at 120k price. It is therefore harsh to call it "stealing" if the dev is actually executing to community vote. No-one said the price of 120k will be successful and it is something that the dev can take back to the community if sufficient funds are not raised at 120k. I have not seen any evidence yet of wrongdoing and if you consider supporting price as such a big crime then rather focus your efforts on the tens of flyby ICOs on the exchanges where the dev disappears an hour after the ICO ends. That is where the big crime is that needs focus and attention.

I believe you have completely lost contact with reality. But I'm flattered... wow.

It is my pleasure. It is you who has lost touch with reality because you underestimate the destructive power of fud and the huge role it has played so far to get alt-coins in the bad state it is currently as well as the huge role it will play going forward to keep alt-coins in a bad state. The thing is that as soon as there is something that shows promise the fudders jump on it to attempt to destroy it. It happens time and time again.

You are too attached to this -you have your moolah in it- and therefore have lost any perspective about how reality works. You see, the (very few) good projects that are out there, they may be criticized, fuded if you will, and they not only survive, but thrive. The bad ones, unfortunately, don't suffer because for every sensible, deeply informed individual that takes them up to test, there are a dozen -initially more- blinded-by-greed individuals such as you that throw voluntarily their money and allow themselves to be scammed... unfortunately again, along with a couple dozen or more newbies with a bit of BTC trying to get rich quick. That's why my effect is nil, really. Or minimal, if you want to assign some wight to it.

So worry not, your game of smoke and mirrors will proceed unscathed, I assure you... but it is and it will be revealed soon enough, as what it is.

At last I think we have found common ground. A good project will withstand the fud and attempts at it. I agree on that with you fully. So lets see then where this goes, let the devs execute their plans and if you are right I will apologize. All I am asking then is to give them a chance and let them carry on with their work and not actively destroy their efforts.

The only reason that I am still reluctant to bite on your theory is because the price for the placement was the outcome of a poll if you remember. Personally I did not vote for 120k due to feasibility but a lower price. If the dev on his own unilateraly decided on 120k I would have been more open to your theory.

@MTRdevteam we tried to reason with this guy but to no avail. He has decided to go for this project where the dev team is active and actually building something useful instead going for the many other coins where his input would be much more valuable. Please carry on with your good work as actions speak louder than words and will withstand the fire test. It is important that the marketing conference goes ahead as planned and if barrabas is successful with his destructive behavior in chasing away the investors for this placement with fud, then getting the funding for it has to be adjusted eg lowering the price if the placement.

By him posting here does not mean we have to respond as hitting a swarm of bees with a stick just makes them angrier. His destructive posts also do not have to steer the project off course, in fact, if MTR could achieve success despite his attempts at sabotage it will taste so much sweeter.

It is unfortunate about the ball and chain that has been attached to the project that makes achieving the objectives more difficult but if an athlete practices with dead weight attached to his legs he just becomes fitter and stronger.

I'm done dude. I'll let you to crash on your own.

I am glad you are done. Now stay away.  Smiley

I hardly follow orders or impolite indications. So count on me to tell the tale of the tape pretty much in real time. You are NOT going to like it.

It would be perhaps appropriate that you reserve your indications, especially the impolite ones, for those who a) care or have given you equally impolite and unrequested ones, don't you think? Naturally, that would denote some class and, unfortunately, not the case, obviously.

I think it is pretty clear what you are trying to achieve is to cause damage. Let me use an analogy. Someone plants an oak tree and it is small and tiny and starts to grow. Someone else comes along and starts to bend the little tree break off the leaves and kick it and then says "look at this pathetic little tree how it bends and it probably isn't even an oak tree". The person carries on until he stomps it out completely and then says "See it I told you so this is no oak tree and look how little and pathetic it was".

Can I respectfully ask you as another human being, to please give this project a chance. There are so few projects in alt-coins where the dev teams are actually attempting something useful and delivering on their promises. Alt-coins need a success story for the sake of crypto. All alt-coins are high risk and everyone involved in alt-coins know the risks they are taking. You have made your point and we all take heed of your concerns. There are projects where the devs disappear or make promises where they do not deliver. Your insights could help those projects much better. Once the dev in this project stops delivering it is another matter. Give this little oak tree the chance to grow without stomping it out and then say "i told you so". Give it the chance to grow into a big and strong tree. If this project does not make it then it is out of the investors own choice and it will then be number 1536 out of 1537 alt-coins and then I will apologize to you.

Hi everyone - wanted to give you all a heads-up. Over the next few days I will be doing a lot of work on the backend as we prepare for our new platform. Part of this will involve going through each of our markets and making sure the data is complete and correct. It may require that individual markets be taken down for a few minutes.

Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any concerns. I'll keep you updated if any extended downtime is needed (I don't expect that, though).

Cheers - DCGirl

Thanks for your excellent work.

Try to sell it morons. You are in for quite a surprise....

Very easy to check and at "no risk" right? Sell it above 120 and you have guaranteed to buy back at 120. Right? What can possibly go wrong? Huh  Unbelievable.  Moronism is strong here.  --Yoda.

I understand the issue at hand better now. You are looking at this from a short term point of view and I am looking at it from a long term point of view. The current boards don't mean much to me as I am looking 12 months ahead. I am not interested to sell now so whether there are enough orders now to gulp my stash or not does not matter to me. I might sell stake here or there and that is about it. There has been several times where people have place largish orders that have been gulped up quickly which I know was not by the dev. I suggest that you look at other coins where short term profit is important for the users and you can then comment there on their order book.

At some point over the next number of months the use cases for MTR will be implemented and the demand will grow. The people that will want the MTR to use will need to buy it from the people that have a long term objective now and those coins will come from the stake of the people that own them now.

Lets therefore agree to disagree. Since MTR is a more long term investment, and your analysis is more suitable to a short term pump and dump type of coin, lets have a look again in 12 months and assess the order book then. If demand is low, I will apologize to you and if demand is high you will apologize to me.

PS: You will note that this answer is much shorter and less thoughtful than my previous posts. The reason for this is that I had a look at your post history and it seems that most of your posts are negative irrespective of the coin where you post. This means that what you have posted here is probably not genuine concern but just more posts in line with your personality and style and it wll make no difference to you what I post. I have actually been wasting my time in my previous posts attempting to provide you with thorough and quality answers and it gives a new meaning to don't cast your pearls before swine.

Snip... for the sake of not quoting such a large chunk of text ...

I also had my doubts about the 120k price of this tranche and I voted for a lower price, but that was the outcome of a poll where the majority voted for this price. I also agree with you that if coins can be bought on the market at lower price then normal rationality will cause people to rather buy on the market than in the placement. The low volume in my opinion is due to very little people selling their coins. I further think that the investor mix for MTR is a rare combination of more longer term holders than short term profit chasers which in itself could present a problem as the profit chasers provide much needed liquidity. Arguably 90%+ of current alt-coin active people are short term profit chasers that want instant gratification else they are not interested. Unfortunately MTR is not that coin that can provide that for now. If people don't want to sell (me included even if the price is currently at 3x initial ICO price), what is going to create the volume and even prevent a possible delisting? A dev from time to time can step in with monetary policy just like a government steps in from time to time to influence economic indicators. This is normal and acceptable within reason. The dev was also transparent in this case that he bought coins. I can also confirm that he is not alone in buying and selling. Many people are selling their stake and this is where the long term potential of the coin is. Based on the current coin holders stake would range from 1-15 coins a day. At some point MTR will be used in the products and process, creating demand in the market and causing natural price increases and that 1-15 coins stake can become very valuable on the market. Hence me saying elsewhere that sometimes it does not really matter how much you pay for something, within reason of course, if there is a future earnings potential. IMO, if I pay 80k or 120k now wont make a big difference in a year's time.

Can you please confirm if you have played around in the Toshi beta? I assume you have in order to be able to criticise it and have such strong views on it. I have and I am very much impressed with what I am seeing and if one starts to connect the dots of what will be available in the final product it makes a lot of sense. The dev team is open to suggestions and I can confirm that several of the suggestions I have made have been incorporated by them in the product so far and some will be considered in future. If you therefore have suggestions to improve the product and distinguish it from competitor products (yes there are competitor products just like with cars, toothpaste and fast food etc) and what you would like to see in it, make those suggestions to the dev team and see if it appears in the beta updates like I have seen or on the development roadmap. Also, ToshiDesk is one of a suite of things being planned and remember that a wish-list cannot be done all at once. In addition, everything costs money and development and marketing is not cheap and it is acceptable to do placements to raise funding.

Your concerns are noted and I have already discounted that into my risk assessment. Some go as far as to say all alt-coins are ****. Based on the wider alt-coin scene and what is going on all over the place, what I have seen so far regarding MTR dev action and delivery is more re-assuring than most of the other offerings. I agree that the most risk-averse course of action would be to play with the big boys on the BTC market, but as you rightly say the players in the alt-coin market are small fish compared to the others and inherently the alt-coin market is high risk. The golden rule applies that if you want to play in this market then play with money that you are prepared to lose. If you consider impact x likelihood, the impact of alt-coins will always be high because the devs can bail at any time but the likelihood reduces based on certain criteria. The likelihood in this case though is lower imo than other alt-coins. I am giving the MTR developers a chance and as long as the products are rolling out completing the puzzle pieces of the bigger picture, I would rather risk it with MTR than many of the other coins out there.

There is always risk in crypto, big risk and things can always go wrong like in any business. It therefore requires a risk based approach to determine the risk of an investment that would impact your cost of capital and therefore drive the calculation of your ROI, NPV and all the other indicators. All factors have to be taken into account - dev action/non-action/delivery, market analysis, other investor analysis, fundamentals and so on and yes including negative posts of other BCT members. Price is not an input indicator for me or at most has a very low weighting as price is the result of all the other things imo - both good and bad, both grounded and fud, both real and pumped, all impacting supply vs demand.

So far for me the risk of MTR has been much lower compared to most of the other altcoins on the market. The reasons for this are most importantly dev delivery and action. This is important because a committed, sincere and legit dev is at the heart of a coin and if the dev delivers according to a roadmap the coin will rise above fud as it withstands the fire test. Dev action/non-action is what makes or breaks a coin. What is also important are other reputable members analysis. Like in economic analysis there will always be economists that say interest rates will go up and others that say interest rates will go down. It is everyone's duty to review all the analysis, see what the driving factors are for the views and then use that to support your own analysis and risk assessment.

Everyone here has the right to their view and has their own method of analysis, even barrabas has the right to his view. The views and analysis in the thread so far has been very positive taking into account both positive and negative inputs. So far all and all MTR has a positive outlook in my analysis. It can be argued both ways if it is good or bad if a dev buys coins for himself depending on how you look at it. Price itself should not form a major input into the analysis as it is the output of sentiment and supply vs demand. Personally I sometimes do not worry too much within reason about the price I pay for something depending on the future earnings potential. Most importantly though are the dev actions and delivery. I have been very impressed so far with the delivery from the MTR team and I am looking forward a lot to the ToshiDesk platform with all its bells and whistles as it is going to assist greatly with providing data and information that forms a big part of the the basis of trading decisions. The better information at hand the higher the probability of profits. ToshiDesk will provide users the ability to make more objective decisions supplemented by registered skilled trader analysis within the tool that would empower its users to separate the wood from the trees and look past things like fud and trolls which is rife in the altcoin threads on BCT.

Like with anything there is always risk and anything can happen, so do your own analysis, but from what I have seen so far on a risk based approach, I am very impressed with what has come from the MTR development team and will keep MTR in my portfolio as it is among the top prospects currently in the altcoin market.

another swap??? might as well make it official and have a 3rd ICO as well  Roll Eyes

I don't think he will do that, he needs to deliver something here!!! People invested money in his coin and expect some returns. A pump like FCS would be fine for me Cheesy GO WOC GO WOCX GO WOC2 GO WOC3 GO WOC4.

As long as he pump it like FCS, i'm happy Cheesy

Everyone has been waiting for several weeks for the plans to mature. If it means a few more days and a swop to make sure everything is perfect to deliver then it is fine.

Here is the Raspberry Pi wallet for v0.8.6-13 - for both the Qt and headless daemon (command line) - UPNP enabled. It is possible to solo mine with this wallet if you want to.

Important:
1) Always backup your wallet.dat first before you do anything
2) The wallet was built on a Raspberry Pi2 (ARM7) running Raspbian Wheezy.
3) Installation directory where the binaries are installed is ~/opt/jetcoin or /home/pi/opt/jetcoin
4) All that is needed is to execute the command below on your Pi in a terminal window and afterwards you need to click on the Jetcoin icon on your desktop to launch the Qt wallet or go to the directory with the wallets and run the daemon (jetcoind) with the options you want at the command prompt or in a terminal window
5) An Internet connection is required for the installation
6) A bootstrap.dat is used to fast track the blockchain sync - up to block 18432
7) The bootstrap.dat also works for Windows wallets. For your convenience I have included a direct link below to an untarred bootstrap.dat to make it easy for the Windows users. Windows users just have to copy the bootstrap.dat file into their c\users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\jetcoin folder and run the Win client again
8.) You need at least an 8GB memory card
9) The installation itself takes about 30-45min on an out-of-the-box Pi
10) You cannot just download the binaries, you have to run the script to get the dependencies as well else it will not run
11) The installation script does not enable the UFW firewall by default. If you want to enable it, uncomment the UFW lines in the script and add the port you want open and run it again or enable it manually by running the UFW commands as in the script with the correct port numbers.
12) Always verify the checksums when you download files to make sure it was downloaded ok. To verify the checksums on your Pi, go to the ~/opt/jetcoin folder and execute sha256sum <filename> and md5sum <filename> and compare the values with the values in the checksums.txt file

Users will be familiar with the Qt wallet as it works like a Qt wallet in Windows. Instructions to use the headless command line daemon wallet:

1) Since you the installation script created a jetcoin.conf file with the startup settings in it, go to the folder with the binaries ~/opt/jetcoin and enter ./jetcoind in a terminal window to start the server
2) After the blockchain has been imported you can enter the normal wallet commands that you would as in a Windows debug console preceded with ./jetcoind eg. ./jetcoind getinfo
3) Remember to always make a backup of your wallet.dat file before you do anything like encrypting it
4) To encrypt your wallet run the command ./jetcoind encryptwallet <yourpassword>

Let me know about any issues that you may encounter.

To kickstart the installation execute the following command at the command prompt or in a terminal window on your Pi:
Code:
wget https://bitbucket.org/jc12345/jetcoin/downloads/jetcoin_installation_pi.sh && chmod +x jetcoin_installation_pi.sh && ./jetcoin_installation_pi.sh && rm -f jetcoin_installation_pi.sh
