1501  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Silk Road Crash of 20** ...? on: November 15, 2012, 08:49:57 PM
I did an independant study of gateway drugs that lead to heroin use. There is the tendancy to make the connection that marijuana users are more likely to use heroin based on the fact that ~85% of heroin users had used marijuana prior to trying heroin, a staggering number! However, our research showed an even more powerful influence; As it turns out, ~97% of heroin users had previously enjoyed Coca-cola products. How did the original study overlook this fact? It was shocking, and changed the way we looked at drug abusers. Coca-cola is the biggest known gateway drug currently, and I would advise anyone without the willpower to resist, to stop enjoying this beverage entirely before you enter the downward spiral that is hardcore drug abuse. You have been warned.
Cheesy

I thought it was 4 bitcoins.  XD
1503  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 watt laser and safety glasses on: November 15, 2012, 11:38:00 AM
Yeah, that laser won't be 1 watt. I'll gladly test it for you if you want, although my offer to buy it will largely depend on the test results. The pump diode in my best green laser died a while ago so it would be nice to have a higher powered green again.

Laser would be measured with a Coherent FieldMaxII laser power meter.
Sure.  Can you PM me a shipping address?
1504  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 watt laser and safety glasses on: November 14, 2012, 11:11:08 PM
Thanks for the link.  I ordered one from the website. Sorry, but I prefer new since Chinese stuff may not last long, anyway.
Ok, this is new BTW.  Just picked it up.  Also, I might be willing to give a small discount to encourage to buy from me.
Ah...Sorry for jumping the gun on the website.  It's not letting me cancel the order, though.
It's fine.  Anyone else want it?

I can't imagine a 1W laser going for $26... something is not right.  I would almost buy one just to see what kind of mystery device I get.

I notice they classify it as a TOY ... Holy shit!  An AK47 is a safer toy!

Also, it says the output power is 1000 MW on the laser.  It seems legit, but I don't want to test it (I know I'll blind myself).
1507  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] 1 watt laser and safety glasses on: November 14, 2012, 09:26:00 PM
A model number would be very helpful, or a link to the Chinese wholesale site.  1 watt is massive output for a laser.

I'll take it in a heartbeat if the output actually measures 1 watt, got any photos and model information for the laser?
I'll have photos tonight (probably).  I'm picking it up from USPS today.
Also, for the sake of being honest, I DID get it from a china wholesale site.  Here's the deal though: if it doesn't measure 1 watt, I will issue a full refund (and get a refund from the seller).

PM me if you're still interested.

The laser is actually broken.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ponzi_scheme
"A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to its investors from their own money or the money paid by subsequent investors, rather than from profit earned by the individual or organization running the operation."

A hones ponzi is a contradiction.

...

I'm confused.
He means that he's making it public that it's a ponzi.  Other ponzi schemes said they were actually running a business.

PSST.  If you're trying to build rep, don't say you're doing a transaction just to build rep.

So who ends up with that final amount, a partial payment on the withdrawal or you?

There are a few ways we could handle this. How about the one who withdraws gets the remainder of the pot?
Sounds good.

Endgame:
The game ends when a player requests a withdrawal that cannot be fulfilled.

So who ends up with that final amount, a partial payment on the withdrawal or you?
Maybe he could split it up with all players.  As to minimize losses.
1518  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1 or 0. The Binary Guessing Game. on: November 11, 2012, 01:16:53 AM
I'm 12.
I fully understand bitcoin concepts.
Age should never be a problem.
I run a hosting company.
I built my computer.
I mine bitcoins and have fully worked out electric costs and shares per hour.
Never underestimate a kid.
I've been doing Bitcoin since I was 12.  My solution was to say I was 17 until a couple months ago, where I said I wasn't telling anyone.  Then I told people here.  The trick is to build up a reputation, then reveal your age.  People won't care as much.
1519  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 1 or 0. The Binary Guessing Game. on: November 11, 2012, 01:05:35 AM
Well you do. Even with colo.
Actually it's a resellers account.

Actually no, do your research, if your a reseller account then you made a bad contract, also all hosting companies i know of have there own hardware, and rent space in a datacenter.

No more 12 yrs allowed, we can't have Chris Henson coming for us
Bitcoin doesn't discriminate against age, and we shouldn't in this forum. How old were you when you when you first learned about money and it's value? Probably even before you started getting your lunch money stolen in school.

As we have learned in this forum, being of age to be able to enter into a contract has little value in determining if something is a scam or evaluating whether preponderance of law in a courtroom will allow you to successfully seek relief. After all, a contract is nothing but a "permission to sue" form.

I learned about money, but I wasn't making decisions how the money was evolving. Also never got my lunch money stolen, I was taking lunch money Wink
Also I pretty sure, that you have to be of a certain age to enter into a contract without a parent consenting for you since, you may not understand what the fact of the contract is. While bitcoin doesn't discriminate against age, this forum should since they are spreading false information. This is not daycare.
(1) Fuck you.
(2) I'm 14 (I revealed my age #bitcoin-otc!  This is a major event!).
(3) I've run a few websites.  I've co-run one website.
(4) I have participated in HUNDREDS of trades on #bitcoin-otc, since I was 12.  Age doesn't mean anything.
(5) Fuck you.
