1541  Economy / Lending / Re: 15 BTC Loan for another Jalapeno on: October 04, 2012, 08:11:10 PM
because they want to genius, now stop posting here
He raises a good point.  And acting like that won't get you a loan.
1542  Other / Meta / Re: Asshole tag on: October 04, 2012, 10:17:40 AM
How about a system where you can add a caption to a user and others can see the list of captions and can choose one to copy, the most used caption is displayed, so anyone can nominate any caption and people essentially vote for the one that fits best - perhaps also a minimum amount of copies/votes needed before it is shown so people can't just put anything they want on un captioned users

It's bad enough that this forum is a scammer haven.  Adding options which pretty much amount to popularity contests will remove whatever illusion remains that it's a place where serious Bitcoin enterprises hang out and relegate it once and for all to the "fan site" category.  We don't need to do things which make it even more like an AOL chat-room for petulant teenagers than it already is.
Not _all_ teenagers are petulant.
1543  Other / Meta / Re: Asshole tag on: October 03, 2012, 11:17:50 PM
Those are very subjective terms.

Who decides what an asshole/troll/FUDster is?

1545  Other / Meta / Re: what the frick is this crap? on: October 02, 2012, 11:42:51 PM
People are selling ad space in their signatures. You can cut off signatures in your profile settings if you don't want to see them.
No they're not.  It's a contest hosted by BFL.  Can someone post the link?
It's not BFL  Cheesy
Misread.  Sorry, I thought he was talking about the contest thing.

1552  Economy / Goods / [WTB] A Jalapeņo Preorder on: October 01, 2012, 10:06:21 PM
Hello,
I would like to buy a BFL jalapeņo preorder that is relatively high up in the order list.
I do not want to pay a ridiculous amount for it.  I would be able to pay with either BTC or USD (any method, pretty much), but I would have to have a commitment to sell it so I could buy the BTC.

Please PM me or post here with offers or questions.

Thanks,
-Daniel
1553  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer tag: Nefario. on: October 01, 2012, 09:57:32 PM
Nefario isn't a scammer. He's just made some poor decisions for GLBSE from a customer relations standpoint. You can solve this by creating competition.

What, if any, is your ownership stake in GLBSE?

No offense, but you shouldn't really be saying that he has a conflict of interest here.

Have you ever thought of how you run a competing exchange?
1554  Economy / Goods / Re: New snack for BTC! D's Nuts! - Sweet and Salty nut mix on: October 01, 2012, 08:49:16 PM
Well, I gotta ask anyway; for one bag it cant be worth shipping to the EU, I can understand that. But what about a bulk purchase of say 25 bags or something? You see, this is just the kind of thing bitcoin needs more off, real trade of actual goods and services,  and Im a sucker for nuts Smiley.
That's what she said.

Also, I got my nuts today.  I put them in my mouth and savored them for a minute.  Then i chewed on that juicy nut and swallowed it all down.

</troll>
The nuts are good.
1555  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Hello! Hola! Guten Tag! on: September 30, 2012, 03:31:41 PM
Tried two different pools. I'm currently connected to slush. Instead of 50 Ghash, I'm getting 21 MHash.  Tongue
That seems about right.
1556  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [Bounty] 5 BTC for an OpenPay Logo (get your skills noticed!) on: September 29, 2012, 10:24:02 PM

If you have some feedback it is always welcome.

I very much like this. Single correction: currencies
What is openpay, exactly?  Is it so you can pay with any P2P currency?
1557  Economy / Services / Re: Updates on Bitinstant debit card and service in Canada? on: September 29, 2012, 10:20:18 PM
Same here.  I'm in the US and am wondering about the card.
1558  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: let's maybe see WTF the bitcoin foundation does before criticizing on: September 29, 2012, 09:54:53 PM
however, i want to suggest that, instead of all the threads decrying the foundation, let's just see what the hell they actually end up doing before hurling those stones.

I have a better idea. Let's let them earn some positive feedback before we believe their organization is of value and furthers bitcoin name.

I don't think throwing stones is necessary, but healthy skepticism and voicing concerns seems totally reasonable.
If anything, there should be more of that (not throwing stones; healthy skepticism and voicing concerns).
1559  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The pirate and the SEC - Alleged e-mails. on: September 29, 2012, 09:53:53 PM
Its sad to see there's people that still have the response that danieldaniel had, ignorance is bliss am i right?

Im not attacking you personally daniel, im just stating that your conditioning from living within the states is showing.
No offense taken, and I completely understand.  However, I wouldn't consider myself ignorant on what happened.  I was more trolling when I laughed than anything.

I do, mostly, understand what happened.  Banks were making really shitty loans to people who wouldn't pay back, then AIG insured everything (I know this isn't everything; trying to be concise).

And I lied about the no offense taken, I was offended, I just understand that from what you read I may have appeared ignorant on the situation.  Also, if you don't believe that I was trolling, take a look at the #bitcoin-otc logs... I troll.  A lot.
1560  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The pirate and the SEC - Alleged e-mails. on: September 29, 2012, 09:50:24 PM
People who did not get the joke, buy and read The Big Short before posting again.
I only read, like, the first half of it and I get it.
* danieldaniel laughs

Yeah, but someone must have spoiled the ending for you.
Nope.  I just know that they were insuring peoples mortgages who ended up not paying them back.

You didn't notice that whole housing bubble, recession, bank crash thing in the news?
I was so young!  I didn't really care back then.  All I cared about is whether I could get that new iPride.
