1682  Economy / Services / [WTS] Signature space for a month on: July 04, 2012, 06:41:59 PM
Hello,
I saw some other people doing this and thought it might be a good idea.

If anyone wants to buy something in my signature, make an offer.  It doesn't have to be only for a month, though.  It can be for any amount of time.

Thanks,
-Daniel
1683  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTCS&T – Why many people here are massive scammers and suckers on: July 04, 2012, 05:27:43 PM
1. BTCS&T Defaults
2. Blames it on all the negative talk.

Wow wow wow! Blame it on negative talk? Why would BTC&T default at all just because of people leaving? Don't you remember? There was a time when he even had a limit to how many could deposit! What in the world could have possibly changed with his supposedly legitimate business that suddenly if clients left it would sink him?
He said blame, I don't think he really meant it actually was because of people leaving.  I think he meant "I'll leave because everyone hates me".
1684  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust | Home on: July 04, 2012, 05:26:42 PM
It's fear, uncertainty, and doubt.  Not destruction.

Ahh ok, my mistake. The post could be called that although it's not. Regardless, I still don't understand why would FUD mater to a legitimate business. Do you not remember that there was a time when he even had a limit to how many people could deposit? But suddenly if people leave and voice their opinion it's called FUD and ex clients are being told to keep it to themselves? What changed?
Here's my view on all this.  I personally don't think he is a scam/ponzi.  I am not saying that I don't have any doubts, because I have self-debated about the topic many times.  I don't have many BTC with him anymore, just enough to make a reasonable profit.

What I think is bad, however, is what Blitz stated in https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=91552.0.
Summary of his thread:
Let's say that pirate is running a legit operation, it's still indistinguishable from a Ponzi.  What's to stop people from defending a real ponzi?
1685  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTCS&T – Why many people here are massive scammers and suckers on: July 04, 2012, 05:22:36 PM
I personally don't think that pirate is a scam/ponzi, but I have to agree with your points.

There is no real evidence to defend him, aside from the fact that it's not obvious that he needs deposits to keep it running.

Would people defend a real ponzi scheme?  Probably, and that's a problem.

1687  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: [BitcoinMax.com] Paying 6.9% per week... Small accounts welcome. on: July 03, 2012, 08:44:31 PM
it's official... the weekly bitcoinmax rate come 1st of August will be:

6.9%

OMG!  Great!  No problems with the rates then!  Grin
1688  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Simplify Bitcoin on: July 03, 2012, 08:42:18 PM
Only two problems, rather big ones.

(1) How would we know how much each person has?  I know you are saying self-signed, but then I could say "I have 9001137 Bitcoins".

(2) How would you transfer the old transactions to the new system?

In reality, there is no practical way to do this.
1689  Economy / Securities / Re: BS&T -- Are you staying or leaving? on: July 03, 2012, 01:59:38 PM
Staying with bitcoinmax.
1690  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Bitcoin Savings and Trust | Home on: July 03, 2012, 01:53:49 PM
This thread is about BS&T it is not about ponzi schemes.

The only way this sentence makes any sense at all is if you believe BS&T is not a ponzi scheme, which I find no good reason to share. If you have some facts to support your belief I'll gladly take a read but until then, for me, talking about BS&T is talking about a ponzi scheme.
What facts, exactly, do you have to support your belief?

Will btcmax get an exception to the max-5000 BTC rule? I am guessing he is entrusted with more than 5000 BTC by btcmax.com users.

I'll be working closely with pass-though operators to ensure the process is seamless for it's clients.
It says that the max for "Trust" accounts is unlimited; maybe they'll switch to that.

1695  Economy / Lending / Re: Potential Loan (Or buy me an item and I'll pay back later in BTC) on: June 27, 2012, 12:27:45 PM
The reasoning makes no sense to me so you might as well have asked for a loan without any reasoning.  I am willing to loan you BTC and be repaid in BTC.  I boycott Paypal-eBay.  I will ask my friend if he will do the eBay purchase when he wakes up otherwise you can find someone else for that and I can send them bitcoins or you can. Will you get the item re-shipped? I assume eBay prohibits any third-party payments for auctions, to prevent fraud. Please PM a BTC address and discuss details by PM if you wish to take me up on this.  Auction has no buy it now price, so how much do you think it will go for?  Current BTCGBP at 4.19.

Hi,
Thanks for your interest, but I fell asleep and the product ended.  I don't need the loan anymore, sorry!

Hello,
I would like a loan.  I want to buy http://bit.ly/MRBcC7 and I have the money now, but I am making more money in pirate than the interest that I want to pay .

So, if someone could buy me that and I would pay them back over an agreed upon amount of time, that would be great.

Also, I want to mention that if pirate were to completely default and I were to lose all of my money, I would immediately pay back the entire loan from my bank account (I will either just send you USD, or will buy BTC and pay with that).

So what I would LIKE to to is the following:
1. You buy me item with agreed upon interest and payback time.
2. I pay back the interest plus a little of the loan every interest period.
3. I eventually pay back the entire loan, sooner if pirate defaults (from my bank) or later if he doesn't.

So this is either going to be long-term or short-term.  I would like to have a set pay-back date if everything goes well (pirate doesn't default).

Thanks,
- -Daniel

You being egcellent means you owe me 3.5 btc for that copy of AC3 you never delivered. If you are going to repay, then great. Otherwise I will file a police report and come after you.

Best reply in the whole thread... A pearl, indeed.
