3121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best way to earn Bitcoins? on: November 08, 2015, 02:03:11 PM
To be honest the tried and true method of earning bitcoin has long been through signature campaigns. These are the easiest, most consistent and simplest way to earn yourself some bitcoin or to just get started in the community in general.

Another simple method would be to complete odd-jobs and small tasks for other bitcoin users throughout the community.
If all else fails, just invest a small amount of your salary into bitcoin via an exchange or trusted exchanger here on bitcointalk.
3122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Approaching 24 hours and my sent bitcoins are not showing even on the blockchain on: November 08, 2015, 02:01:22 PM
I'm pretty new at solving issues, but I also use Bitcoin Core to handle all of my business.
Depending on the web-wallet you sent your coins to it could be a potential problem on their end, however it's entirely possible that your coins are still sitting in your original wallet and need to be Re-Scanned

I had this occur to me once or twice on Bitcoin Core, but it eventually took care of itself after a few hours. Some users have let me know, however that in some cases manual-re scanning may be required.
3123  Other / MultiBit / Re: Bitcoin Transaction Validation Error on: November 08, 2015, 01:56:07 PM
I have heard a lot of similar issues to this occurring on the BlockChain.info wallets.
If you are using a 3rd party web-wallet or something alike I would highly suggest you cease immediately. They are highly susceptible to bugs and programming errors which could ultimately lead to the loss of bitcoins one day and there's nothing the company will do to assist you.
3124  Economy / Auctions / Re: Potential Senior Member Account on: November 08, 2015, 01:54:11 PM
Everyone be extremely cautious.
This user has defaulted on a .6 loan and has proven themselves to be untrustworthy; If you do end up purchasing an account from this person I would certainly use escrow and verify a LOT of details before releasing funds.

There are many other users around this forum which are trusted account dealers, which would sell you Sr. Potential accounts at a lower price than your starting bid.
3125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is their any safe methods to gamble? on: November 08, 2015, 12:34:56 AM
There really are no safe ways to gamble...

Any money that you're willing to gamble you should be entirely willing to lose it;you should be extremely aware that losing any money gambled is an extremely likely possibility and shouldn't ever put down more than you'd be able to lose with a smile. Smiley

That being said, whenever "gambling/investing" you can always do your best to take the safe route and never put down more than 1-3% of your total capital-pool at any given time.

3127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to store bitcoins safely? on: November 07, 2015, 07:37:00 PM
Many users here have the write idea. Pretty much the only virtually safe way to hold onto your bitcoins indefinitely is via cold-storage or hardware wallets.

Web wallets are a No no, but also just simply using the Bitcoin Core with encryption should do the trick if you're in that kind of thing.
3128  Other / Off-topic / Re: DO YOU HAVE 1 BITCOIN? on: November 07, 2015, 07:35:51 PM
I do have at least one bitcoin.
I think it's in everyone's best interest to at least hold onto an entire bitcoin to gander at for themselves.

Feels good man.
3129  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransom demanded from an attacker on: November 07, 2015, 06:49:40 PM
As other users have stated before it is ESSENTIAL to back-up anything that is truly important or of value twice in separate mediums.
Never let someone blackmail me you because you forgot to back-up your wallet, or other important files. It just will make you facepalm for ages.
3130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Proposes Jail Sentence for Bitcoin Activities on: November 07, 2015, 06:45:00 PM
Ministry of Finance is cracking down on cryptocurrencies in general, and this new proposal could just be the beginning of things to come

http://bitcoinist.net/russia-proposes-jail-sentence-bitcoin-activities/

If bitcoin were a crime then consider me a criminal. I refuse to let crypto-currencies get taken from us and I hope everyone stands with me on that. We can't be scared away from something just because it doesn't directly benefit the people who make the rules.
3131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't HODL!!! on: November 07, 2015, 06:42:48 PM
Are you guys fooking nuts?  Don't HODL!  HODLing is what fucks up Bitcoin.  SPEDN!  Bitcoin was made to be used - not held.  Spend your damn Bitcoin and support Bitcoin friendly merchants and bitcoin traffic.  HODL is for pussies.

You have to HODL some of them otherwise you get caught with your pants down and wish you didn't spend them all.

I agree to support merchants and spend, but HODL at least 75% of your BTC .
3132  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously? "WARNING: This user is a newbie.." on: November 07, 2015, 06:35:02 PM
It's as simple as sticking around for a couple weeks and this heading is removed from your messages. There need not be a solution to something that isn't a problem.

Any newbie worth his salt will not care about this being in their messages and it will be gone extremely soon.

This message has never hurt somebody, but I'm sure it has helped many.
3133  Other / Meta / Re: theymos threatening to ban the biggest business in bitcoin on: November 07, 2015, 06:31:19 PM
I can appreciate the fact that theymos is actually standing up for what makes sense in terms of the bitcoin protocol.
XT and BIP101 would be a very unfortunate thing to see take place and I pray that this doesn't become the case.

Most of these companies only care about a quick buck.
