2121  Economy / Digital goods / Re: UBER Referral Free Rides SERVICE $2.5 each (CHEAPEST SERVICE) on: April 02, 2018, 07:37:14 PM
The last time the ORIGINAL OP seller logged in here was February 17th.  Who is everyone talking to?  LOL

Wow. I've been bamboozled. I'm actually laughing at myself, because I hadn't even looked to check who was responding to me. This random user replied to my questions as if they were OP so I just went with it without realizing..  Huh  Shocked  Grin
2122  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 02, 2018, 07:35:26 PM

I think you submitted your posts twice, which would be breaking a rule. I don't feel like even searching for it, because I quickly looked through these submissions and none of them will be receiving merit.

Your submissions have already been merited, are in spam megathreads and add nothing to the conversation except the occasional unexplained list.

You have broken a local-rule by submitting more than 5-links for review within a single post. Therefore I will not be reviewing you at this time. Feel free to resubmit your links after you have fully read and understand the OP/rules.

That was probably the single most boring submission I have read all morning. The thread would be no worse off if you never posted that.
2123  Economy / Digital goods / Re: UBER Referral Free Rides SERVICE $2.5 each (CHEAPEST SERVICE) on: April 02, 2018, 05:13:14 PM
PAYMENT AFTER GIVING YOU RIDE
PROVIDING FREE RIDES ALSO FOR EARLY BRIDS

I think it would be nice if you included a little bit more information about the length of the free rides. It would be strange to purchase a ride from you for $3.50 if it is only good for $5, especially considering the fluctuating prices of BTC, the risk involved with associating my account with your codes, etc. There are a lot of people around here that are helpful when it comes to thread design, but honestly a simple table that gives the information, or even links to a location where the information can be found would go a long way towards marketing your rides.

Do you have any idea what typical Miles/Kilometers/$ amount the rides are good for? Can you give an example from any countries or states? You say that it varies, but I have no idea how widely or to what extent. This would seem an extremely important tidbit of information that most would place their purchase from you contingent upon.

Are you still providing free rides for early "brids"? I think you mean birds, but call me a brid all you'd like for a free ride. I would love to snag some free rides and write up how things go.

My only worry at this point is that you could be doing something to fraudulently acquire these codes and I will be held accountable. What can you say on this?
2124  Economy / Marketplace / Re: [Question] Bitcoin Quilts would you buy one? on: April 02, 2018, 04:18:15 PM
A little behind schedule, but here is the Auction for the quilt: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3230961

No worries, it's not like we're going to lose a government contract over the delay. I doubt it will effect our bottom line in any significant way. It seems like the auction already has a few people interested, it already has over 100 views and multiple replies.

Here are some pictures of the finished project.

We'll forgive the delay, because the finished project looks really good. I'm impressed, send my compliments to the chef! I honestly think there is going to be success in this endeavor. There has to be a market for this kind of thing, especially considering the demographics of the BTC community with the funds to afford such a thing fits nicely into who I would suspect would be interested in this sort of thing. In fact, even I am interested in this kind of thing. I'm not saying it is an unreasonable price, but it is simply just more money than I am willing or able to offer on such an item.

Very nice, yet again I can't explain enough how surprised I am by the outcome. I believe I said it before that my initial look at the first pictures you put out gave me my doubts. It looks to be extremely well done, and as long as high-quality materials were used I can imagine this is going to be something that the buyer HODLs for 20+ years.
HODL quilts!

I'll be watching the auction, but unfortunately I do not see myself bidding. Good luck, though.
2125  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i need help on: April 02, 2018, 03:49:34 PM
You can just edit it and explain further what you are looking for. If you truly want to delete your post, I'm not sure if you are able to do that as a newbie. However, you can lock the post in the bottom left-hand of the thread.

As I said though, simply edit the title to be more specific and edit your OP to add more information and you should be good to go. This will allow people to give you a more specific answer. Right now, nobody knows what you are asking and you will likely only receive spam, scams and nonsense as replies. What are your skills? What are you willing to do for this money? Does it have to be Android? These sorts of questions go a long way towards helping you get an answer. Location/Country is going to be a big part of it, too.
2126  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: i need help on: April 02, 2018, 03:28:55 PM
Let me try to help you out here, even though I think that your thread will be deleted. First thing is first, you should make your thread title more specific. You can change the thread title by clicking "Edit post" and editing the Thread Title, above the body of your OP.

Simply making threads titled "I need help" are not going to get the right kind of attention. You should read the guidelines, rules and stickies around the forum before you go posting too hastily.
Such as : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1689727.0

There is good information already available on this topic. You can find them using the "Search" function, found within the navigation panel. There is a good sticky written by Lauda in this very section regarding ways to begin making some BTC. See here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1629118.0

Now, I'm confused whether you're looking to make $1-$2 or are you interested in making some BTC? This is a forum about Bitcoin, but if you are interested in earning a quick buck, then maybe there is a forum better suited for this purpose.
2127  Other / Meta / Re: [April fools] New new rank requirements on: April 02, 2018, 03:08:55 PM
Now that the extra stats are gone, I sort of wish that they were still around. theymos, would you be a darling and allow an option for us to remain in April Fools mode? It was too enjoyable and complex for a simple 1-day playground. I would like to see some very interesting rolls in the Game of Life.

It might be interesting to see how many people continue as if it is real, without actually changing the rank-up rules, but allowing the joke to play out longer. Please, sir.
2128  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge (Round 4) - 1st: $25 + 8Merits | 2nd: $10 + 6M on: April 02, 2018, 02:53:02 PM
After checking, I never sent ole' bitmover their merit prize and that is my mistake. I gave +1 merit to their post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3178131.msg32900782#msg32900782

After checking further, I never sent Blue Tyrant their +3 for their placement either. I found some good posts, but I threw the merit on this post : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3133667.msg33122304#msg33122304

It seems like I've fulfilled all my "obligations" up to this point, please let me know if I'm behind in anyway. I don't want to blindly throw around my merit, but I've had a chance to review their posts and I support the merit they've been given from all over the forum. The participants here are earning merit at a good pace, not sure how much nullius is skewing the data, regardless it is impressive. Giving some pointers on the posts is solid as well, it's going to go a long way towards developing better posting habits.
2129  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Joe's Signatureless Challenge (Round 4) - 1st: $25 + 8Merits | 2nd: $10 + 6M on: April 02, 2018, 02:46:50 PM
I'm turning off the spreadsheet visibility until the winner is announced. Please do not be alarmed if you cannot access it tonight.

I hadn't checked what time this round was set to end until right now and for some reason I kept thinking I missed the winners and failed to fulfill my obligations. Looking forward to seeing the winners.  I like the criteria you use to rate the posts.

Did I send bitmover their merit prize? Now that I'm thinking about it.. I feel like I missed that.
2130  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 02, 2018, 01:18:38 PM

Your submissions are all spam in megathreads that adds nothing to the conversation. Try having an interesting thought or post and stay away from threads with 200+ pages, unless you've read every single reply.

There is no need in self-moderation because I created another thread (locking the old one) where I collect all the important points and wisdoms in the second post (something which I missed to do in the original thread). I hope the new thread would actually develop toward an "ultimate guide" with time.

Well, then I'll make it a point to "Watch" the thread and see where it develops. I will certainly throw a merit your way if I ever find myself referencing it, or running into it as it pertains to my own problems.

Sometimes I honestly believe that people post submissions as a joke. You can't honestly believe that this is worth a merit point, so I'm not going to humor you with suggestions.

No worries about getting over zealous and submitting more than 5-links. It happens to the best of us. Happy to see you've come back so I can actually take a look this time.

I have given your first submission a Merit, because it is an extremely practical suggestion that would be of great benefit to a lot of users. I can see myself using that feature, because normally I have to dig through thread in order to find something in response to myself. I know Ctrl+F fixes this for threads you are already looking at, but you have no idea if a response was directed at you and this would save a lot of time. I expect to respond within that thread when I get a chance. Your second submission has already received a ton of merit, so I'm not going anywhere near that. Wink

Your third submission is a good post, but it is simply not the kind of thing I am seeking to merit within this thread. The same applies for your fourth submission.

Your final submission has been merited a couple times, so I don't see that as particularly under-merited. All in all, I enjoyed reading your submissions and I would encourage future submissions if you are interested in that.
2131  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 01, 2018, 10:27:42 PM

Nice post, but you've already been merited by multiple different people for that post, so I wouldn't exactly say that it qualifies as under-merited.

None of these posts stick out to me as substantial. I really don't have much more to say other than that, you seem to actually get involved in the conversation, but it doesn't seem like you do much more than that. I feel like there's nothing really interesting being said, and almost all of these submissions are conversational.

Again, very solid post, but the fact that is has received multiple merit from multiple different people tells me that you are going to do just fine. This post does not fit my criteria of under-merited, unfortunately.

You already received a merit point for your first post, so I'll leave that as it is. One of your submissions has been deleted and the other seems to just be agreeing with somebody that is whining about the merit system being unfair. None of these posts go beyond being conversational, so I will have to decline your submissions for merit.
2132  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 01, 2018, 08:56:45 PM

Your first submissions is sufficiently merited. Your post about Bitcoin anonymity offers nothing, in my opinion. It doesn't explain how to be anonymous using Bitcoin, and fails to explain anything. It looks like a lot of effort went into the post, but that's not what I'm judging by. Honestly, I almost gave a merit to your post explaining a bit about what you should learn to get into Bitcoin, but then I remembered I don't really give merit for questions/answers. I would rely on the person that asked the question to dish this out. The last submission is about something that does not affect me in anyway, and I am not informed enough to make a judgement.

Color me unimpressed. I don't know why you think that simply explaining that "HODL = HOLD" is deserving of merit, but in any case I'm going to have to decline this submission. I'm pretty sure this is something that everybody else is already aware of, if they are not aware of it then you would be better off giving a nuanced opinion about the history and context of it's genesis.

Your first submission has a lie in the first sentence. "advantages of miner is we will get a definite and measurable result" This is 110% false; therefore, no merit. Your other post is the 800th post in a megathread about bounties. Please do not waste my time.

Your first submission has already received merit, and the second submission is simply answering a question. I do not give merit for questions and answers, and I regularly let the person that asked the question be the one that dishes out merit in these cases. The other submissions seem conversational or beyond my scope of something I deem myself able to merit.

Well, that was quick for you; I see megathread, and already merited. No merit for these submissions.
2133  Other / Off-topic / Re: sMerit Post-Review on: April 01, 2018, 02:57:36 PM

You've broken a rule by submitting multiple times before I got around to reviewing your first submission. I'm sorry, but now both of your submissions will not be looked at. Please feel free to resubmit one set of posts at time for consideration and review.

Looks like you've already received some merit for this thread, so I'm not going to spend my merit on it. You've mostly thrown together sites that people are already aware of, but I'm sure it's helpful to someone.

All of these posts are either short and strictly conversational or they are buried in a megathread. Either way, these are not something I am interested or willing to merit at this point.

All of these posts are helpful in their own way, but honestly I don't merit posts that are simply answering a question or giving out some help in this manner. It would open up room for too much abuse, but if you were to answer a question that I have then I would be more than willing to share the merit. I'm looking for more universally helpful posts.

"Post #940" is all I need to know about your submission. No thank you.  Tongue

TMAN's politeness rating is too high.

I like the new system, a quality post, theymos.

2137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Exchanging BTC > ETH & ETH > BTC on: March 31, 2018, 03:31:04 PM
Exchanging bitcoin is not that difficult so why should we leave the ones we are already used to and start dealing with you?

A fair question. I am not suggesting that you leave any exchange situation that is currently working out for you in every way. That would be a very tough sell, because some exchanges have everything an individual is looking for. I'm just trying to offer another option, for anyone that would find it more convenient, useful, secure or any other adjective they prioritize. For example, there are tons of users that are not interested in using big company exchanges due to the horrors of victims past. There have been tremendous security leaks, there are sovereign citizens that are not interested in having their information transmitted to any government agencies. Bitcoins and dollars have been lost by the billions from disappearing exchanges that have seemed reliable and secure, or that go bankrupt and begin holding all withdrawals.

The list goes on and on for reasons why someone would choose to use an individual as an exchange for their coin rather than any particular company. The simple centralization of exchanges is enough to scare away a solid portion of Bitcoin users.

Essentially, if you think that it might work to your benefit then I encourage you to contact me and negotiate a deal. As long as I'm not losing money, I will do it for you is basically my mindset; that alone is very different from any exchange, individual or corporation. Consider me a volunteer exchanger, if you pay me a reasonable rate along the way I appreciate it, but it's mostly just to give me another thing to do.
2138  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's help everyone to get merit! on: March 31, 2018, 03:10:17 PM
I am specifically talking to the guy addressing his situation, I am not responding to the OP

I'll assume that is your way of conceding the fact that you cannot prove this and that it's nonsense.

You cannot just keep avoiding questions that are convenient for you. I'm aware who you responded to, because you quoted them and I'm not that clueless. Your response was still within this thread, and regardless of who you were addressing you were still talking baseless nonsense. This does not change anything that has been said.

The only thing that user said was "Wow, good post. I try not to worry about merit, and hope it will come.", which is the correct attitude to put towards it. Worry about being a contributing member of the community and about becoming more knowledgeable or helpful. There are the right things to be concerned about, and you are trying to steer this member and anyone else that reads your post in the wrong direction.
2139  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's help everyone to get merit! on: March 31, 2018, 02:41:29 PM
That is what people are doing

Prove it.

Else, stop saying it. // Users that do this get banned, therefore this is not what people are doing to any successful degree.

why am I at fault here for describing it?

The discussion is called "Let's help everyone to get merit!", you suggested multiple bannable offenses as some of the only ways to achieve merit, and almost nothing else. All I was attempting to do was understand your statement better and see where you were coming from. You keep trying to backpedal away from your statement, instead of reinforcing it with the improvements and clarifications we could make together. Nobody is putting you at fault, but you continue to be defensive and ask strange questions.

2140  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Let's help everyone to get merit! on: March 31, 2018, 02:24:16 PM
copying doesn't amount to plagiarism when you are not passing it off as your own

That's literally exactly what I said.

did I say anything about copying from wikipedia and passing it off as his own
did I say that he should do that ?

Your questions are annoying, because they don't get us anywhere.

Yes, in a thread about ways to earn merit you suggested that a reliable way to achieve merit was through copying from wikipedia; you failed to say anything about sourcing it, or passing it off as your own. This would imply there is nothing else to do, other than copy it from wikipedia. If you omit this, then it is plagiarism and you have said nothing about sourcing or giving credit to the original author. If you're now saying this, then it sounds like we agree and there's no reason to carry on as if we do not.

Again, I am attempting to improve your statements, premises and conclusions so that they are more beneficial to the newbies seeking this information and truthful to reality.

that is what people here doing and that what earn them Merit as they go along participating in the discussion, whether or not the forum accept it thats for the forum to catch them

Who is doing this? Point them out.

There are two options here, either you are aware of active specific instances of abuse and are quietly watching it happen making you complicit, or you are unaware of any active specific instance of abuse making your claim baseless. Either way, it doesn't look good for you, but I am pretty curious; which is it? You cannot just claim that this is what people are doing if you have no proof, so let's see it. If you can point these people out they will be banned. The forum doesn't accept it, and you're well aware of that at this point. In a thread where the discussion is about ways for lower ranking members to earn merit, why would you even suggest this as a feasible strategy without overtly warning against it?

hold your horse there accusing me this and that without understanding what I am saying and then create your own version of my intent

Your sentences are hard to follow. I'm doing my best to understand what you have said, clarify it, improve upon it and make it a more laudable response to the original question.
